Bio

I have been writing as a hobby for longer than you have been alive. I have been a regular member and roleplayer of no less than fourteen different online forums during that time (including the old RPG), five six eight of which no longer exist.

I was previously a regular on the Homestuck forums, but I became so sick of thread turnover there that I asked around and eventually found the Guild. Since joining, I have exclusively only participated in Advanced RPs. Before Mahz gave NRPs their own subforum, I used to be an NRP regular in the Advanced Subforum. I am a Guildfall survivor, and know/regularly write with a few others.

If you ask anybody who has written with me in previous RPs, they should tell you that I have a generally open schedule, I post regularly and in a timely fashion, and I never drop an RP once I join unless the thread dies. Some of them may tell you that I have extensive expertise within the realms of Biology, Psychology, and Physics, which I will make no effort to validate since there is no way I can provide hard proof of aforementioned alleged expertise to anybody over the internet (though I am happy to try and answer any questions you send my way).

My favorite fandom is the Myst franchise, which seemingly nobody other than me has ever heard of.

I was a Contest Moderator for the Writing Contests Subforum for just a little bit over two years. I wrote the Moderation Policy for that subforum and I ran a contest called the Twelve Labours; you can still go there and see all of them and the entries people wrote for them in the Contests Section and the Victory Archives.

I have been quadruple secret banned from the guild discord. That is not a joke.

Map updated. @eemmtt added to OP, along with coordinates and NS link. @Monkeypants's map location removed, OP mention edited to indicate withdrawal.
Is my nation accepted?

I would appreciate it if you could complete the general Overview for your nation, but consider yourself accepted. I will add you to the map shortly.
Hey, just chiming in here again to get a quick poll.

I'm attaching 'Relative Arena Difficulty' tags to all of the new Battlegrounds. There are a few which, due to their properties and features, would normally be considered suicidal to fight in - for both/all fighters involved. Then it occurred to me that I don't actually know how durable/tough the average Arena fighter is.

For the moment I'm just assigning difficulty on the assumption that the fighters will be baseline Humans, but it would help a little if I could get a few people to describe what level of power/strength/toughness the average arena fighter has relative to a regular Human.
Honestly I can't think of a single Arena of significant note that I'd really care to fight in it again.

Challenge Accepted.
I have no idea what you're talking about Terminal, but have fun with that.

You know. Battlegrounds. The places where all of the arena battles and fights allegedly take place? It has its own thread?
@Terminal So, you joining the ranks? Yes?

Hm.

No.
Not entirely sure if this is the right place to say it, but whatever.

Just thought I'd pop in to say I'm designing some new Battlegrounds, an area which seems to be lagging behind in terms of development in the wake of all the other forum updates. I have not settled on the final number, but I will be making anywhere between three and six new battlegrounds. All of them will be multi-variant and dynamic in nature, with specifically tailored/partitioned sections. Each once should be able to be used for one-on-one matches, team battles, free-for-alls, and more. Additionally, all of them will feature fully destructible environments (no arbitrarily indestructible setpieces) and consistent, non-linear topography (no arbitrary invisible walls). One or two will also feature scientifically accurate non-euclidean geometry (because if there's something everyone wants in their fight clubs, its loads of tedious scientifically accurate physics).

Each one will support standard Arena slugging matches, but will also have variant sets that will allow for battles of a different sort, particular in regards to fighters with drastically different approaches or whose matchup creates a vast power imbalance.

More to come. Thanks to [@GrievousKhan] for explaining internal arena mechanics to me.
Map updated.

@Darkspleen, I briefly considered rerolling your coordinates but decided to let it be due to your rather auspicious proximity to a wormhole.
@Apollo26, your technology section is fairly sparse despite lots of /implied/ technological descriptions elsewhere. That said, you're approved.
@Darkspleen I am going to trust you to use the Nano Dissembler responsibly. You are approved.
@duck55223 you are approved.

I am currently in the process of adding all of you to the map, I will let you know once the new version is up.

I have added links in the OP to every nation sheet listed in the characters tab, right by their associated poster's name! This turned out to be not that many. Go figure.

In the meantime: Pinging everyone who is currently approved just to ensure you're all still interested. I know a few of you have already chimed in saying that this isn't necessary, but it's nearly the end of my thirty-six hour day and I'm taking a few shortcuts (sorry).

My post is up, later than intended. Therein absolutely nothing happens and a couple of people who probably aren't important die. It's basically just setting up some internal political intrigue for later. I sent out some probes as well, you'll know them when you see them.
