Tattoos/Scars/Piercings: A few medium-sized scars on his cheek, shoulder and torso from training sessions/battles in his younger years, smaller ones on his hands from medical training accidents
Personal Style: Nali’s overall style can be summarised as “smart casual, and predominantly practical” in nature. He wears very little jewellery, only a locket containing a picture of himself and his sister when they were younger, as this is an important keepsake to him. Any other extras are a hazard to him while working as they could become caught up in instruments and equipment while working. For the same reason, his hair is kept quite short, just reaching his ears (this is pinned up out of the way when performing surgery or stitches etc.). Sterile gloves and a surgical mask are never far from his reach should he need them.

He is most often seen in his full medical scrubs/lab coat outfit, in case anyone comes into the medbay requiring treatment, or the group get into a scrape while working planetside. As underclothes however, he dresses casually but sensibly enough to make a good impression. A loose creamy white cotton shirt, tucked into well-tailored off-grey trousers and donning a grey jacket over the top to protect him from the elements. He will either travel barefoot (most often around the Raven when performing general daily tasks that don’t involve surgery or needing to remain totally sterile) or cover his feet with sensible ankle-height brown boots.

Personality:
Nali is an entirely capable fighter given his previous combat training, however since losing his sister he made the decision to actively avoid conflicts of any sort, leading to a pacifistic attitude. He would rather keep out of it than get involved in any punch ups; he will quite gladly patch someone up after a fight, but don’t expect him to step in unless he literally has to because his life depends on it. Instead, he has devoted his time to learning how to care for and help others. Thus he offers his aid to anyone who might need it, regardless of which side of the conflict they might happen to fall on. He is gentle and understanding even with the most frightened or irate of patients and very rarely loses his cool.

Nali was never particularly talkative, that was Rhine’s thing. Essentially speaks when spoken to out of his regular duties and reports, while he enjoys company and doesn’t like being alone he finds it hard to initiate conversations because he’s often not sure what to say. Prefers it if someone else approaches him and begins a topic first, which he can then draw upon and add to. While he doesn’t say an awful lot, Nali notices and picks up on a lot of things; he just doesn’t mention it unless he believes it is worth bringing to someone’s attention.

Nali enjoys figuring out problems and learning new techniques, skills and languages. If he’s not playing dejarik or at work in the medbay, then he’s in his quarters pouring over his latest set of books and scrolls. Quite sensitive, especially to being left on his own. He gets restless and edgy without company if alone for too long.

History

The Reason You Chose The Side You Did: “I still believe that the Empire was responsible, even if only indirectly, for what happened to my sister. And because of that I could never join them, so that left me with only one alternative: the Republic. Even if Rhine hadn’t died fighting the Empire, I don’t think I could support their ideologies. I’ve seen enough of their thirst for war and blood, and I have no wish to be a part of it. I will fight if I have to in order to support the Republic, but they seem to share the same overall end goal...to just have this conflict end and have relative peace return to the galaxy.”
History: Born on the Echani home planet of Eshan alongside his twin sister, Rhine; Denali was the ‘younger’ of the pair. Shared a particularly close bond with his sister and was never seen far from her side, the two grew up and trained together. As with all Echani, they were trained quite extensively in melee and hand-to-hand combat, though Denali also showed his own private interest in lore and languages, studying them whenever he got the chance to take a break from his other lessons; he studied holocrons, books and scrolls and the like whenever he could get hold of them, learning to speak a couple of the more common alien languages (Huttese, Durese and Twi’lek). While his sister found such persuits rather ‘boring’, she would humour him when she could bear it and in return he would accompany her on exploratory adventures in their spare time. Denali was always the more ‘sensible’ twin. He would be the one to pull his sister back and reign her in when she got over eager and rushed off into reckless situations, often saving her from many awkward or otherwise compromising situations.

When they came of age and they had completed their required levels of training (at around 14 years old), both siblings enlisted in the army but were placed in separate units/divisions due to their slightly differing skill sets. They served time in the military for several years, and joined in the war effort when the Empire’s quest for power finally reached their system, sometime shortly after the Clone Wars petered out. It was during one such battle that Rhine’s carelessness finally caught up with her. She was badly wounded in an ambush attack as were many other members of her unit, and although Denali managed to reach his twin, he was not adequately first aid trained to save her life.

Losing his sister made him rethink his outlook on life. Denali lost his motivation to fight, which his people would consider strange and abnormal. Regardless, he made the decision to leave his homeworld hoping that the solitude would help him to come to terms with his loss. Denali travelled to Dantooine where he worked as a mercenary for a while before making the decision to stop fighting battles for the most part, and seeking to re-train in the medical field. It took him a few years, but with careful practise and the determination to learn so that he would never lose someone close to him again, Denali managed to earn the title of a doctor. When the Raven came through the area recruiting for a medical personnel to serve on the ship during their travels, he applied and was taken onto the crew.

Nali hasn't spoken an awful lot with Luke yet apart from the usual formalities between a ship's captain and the on board medic. "Nobody's bleeding to death?" "No sir." "Excellent, keep up the good work." He respects Luke and knows he's the 'man in charge', so wouldn't argue with him. Nali's picked up on small psychological signals that indicate Luke has seen some rough living, but without being that close to him he feels that it's not his place to ask about it, even on a professional level. Though he knows he could help, he also knows that it might be a sensitive topic and so he would rather wait until Luke broaches the subject first.

"I respect the guy, but our personalities just clash. He's a bit childish."
Having spent time as a merc between his military days and retraining as a doctor, Nali has a respect for Matthew's field and the kind of work he does. They have a relationship that doesn't really extend much past mutual respect, however. Their personalities just aren't compatible: Matthew is carefree and Nali is grounded and serious. Friendship isn't really on the table because their opinions are so different. Nali gets annoyed with Matthew on occasion because he feels he should be more serious given his age, he's not a child anymore and yet he sometimes acts like one and that perplexes Nali.

"Sutton is a little adventurous for me, but I respect her and I know I can talk to her if I need to bring up anything important."
They've spoken on the odd occasion, and the result has been rather amicable. But Nali just isn't adventurous enough to get past the acqaintance stage with Sutton. He'd rather leave the adventuring to her and stay out of trouble. Of course, as the second in command he knows he can report his concerns to her and that she'll listen with a fairly open mind.

"A REALLY lousy dejarik player, but she's always up for a game"
Corrina likes to keep things strictly professional, and Nali's okay with that. She's his go-to person for a game of dejarik, even if she sucks at it. Despite the overall seriousness of their relationship, the doc still gets his kicks from making up bullshit rules and getting her to follow them religiously. He still hasn't told her that they're made up and he hopes she won't find out any time soon!

"Seriously? You know we're on the same side, right?"
There's just something unsettling about someone who doesn't stick to one identity to start with, it's never sat right with Nali. He can't help it, and the part of him that's studied psychology ended up analysing her aliases. Nali knows she means well and that she would never betray the crew, and yet her doctor phobia leaves him constantly frustrated with her. It makes his job difficult when all he's trying to do is help her, not to mention that outside of the medbay the two have a lot in common. Without the doctor scrubs on, he and Kayala can have a pretty good conversation; but as soon as the uniform appears...so do the threats of sedation and the bickering. Ugh.

"That droid gives me the creeps. I stay out of his way and he stays out of mine!"
There's something about HK that just rubs Nali the wrong way. Perhaps it's the constant 'meatbag' references (which the doctor does not appreciate by any means), or it's seeming enjoyment in causing pain to other individuals. He tries to maintain a relatively polite disposition, but on occasion Nali has lost his patience and let HK know that he doesn't approve of his willingness to hurt people. He's even forbidden the droid from coming into the medbay; he's not taking his chances...all droids are perfectly capable of tampering with records and/or equipment after all, even if they are just 'protocol droids'.

⚜/☮ Gol Zhavromi ⚜/☮
"Gol saves my ass whenever I break the medbay computer, I owe her for that! I know she'll always help me out, even if she complains about it all the time!"
Gol is probably the person Nali is closest to so far on the Raven. She might roll her eyes and moan all the time when he asks, but she's always there to save the flustered doctor's ass when he accidentally corrupts a file or the whole computer locks up in the medbay. He knows he can count on her whether it's for tech support or he just wants someone to chat with to pass the time while the others are planetside doing missions. Thank goodness the medbay and the maintenance garage are so close so he doesn't have to run too far, too!

"I wouldn't want to get on his bad side...I've heard about what an angry Wookiee is like!"
Nali does his best to be polite and friendly around Stehrr, and for the most part they get along pretty well. Stehrr spends a lot of his free time in the maintenance garage with Gol, and so by extension he spends time around Nali as well. Nali can't understand a single thing that Stehrr says, but hey, that's what Gol's translator bot is for! The doc does wish he would pay more heed to personal hygiene, but he dares not bring it up with Stehrr for fear of the Wookiee turning on him and going on a rampage. Nobody likes an angry Wookiee...

Back when Nali was still training as a doctor and doing fieldwork with the Rebel forces, he worked alongside Morgbra treating patients on the frontlines. He admired Morgbra's work ethic and even looked up to the older man to a certain extent. They may have even grown to have been good friends at one point, if not for the incident that caused Morgbra to leave the Rebels and end up working for the Empire. Nali never found out what happened to Morgbra, only that he was assumed to be killed in the line of duty on the last mission the other doctor was sent on.

Um so I'm having a tiny problem with the coding with my relations sheet...for some reason it won't put a hider around it at all no matter what I do? Like when I go into preview I just get the actual text that says it shows the coding text for the hider but doesn't put the hider in? Help? D: XD

I've also gone for generally neutral relations with most of the characters to start with, if anyone wants to add anything with Nali do let me know and we can PM and discuss! :3

I did include Corrina as a friend of sorts since I figure they probably play a lot of dejarik together, I hope that's okay!
