Wildest thing I learned was that the Mistborn series is loosely tied with the Stormlight Archive in this incredible novel universe Sanderson is making.

I think The Long Night was amazing. The Battle of Helm's Deep for GoT, and it pulled it off wonderfully.

This is a bit late, but 2019 has officially been blessed by Tom Brady. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Bio
Yo! I'm Torack, you can call me Jay!
I've been RPing for a long, long time. I blame it on my overactive imagination, but it's a wonderful medium to put all these creative ideas into some sorta use. My favourite genre is fantasy. Straight up fantasy. It can be high fantasy, low fantasy, dark, modern. I love fantasy, grew up with it. I also like sci-fi, dystopian settings, etc.. Characterization and character driven stories are my favourite type of RPs, I like seeing them grow and change and the way characters react to completely shit and horrible situations. It's always a fun time.
Personally, my hobbies include reading, although recently the only types of reading I've been doing is from text books ffs. I like sports, any type of sport really, except soccer. My legs are way too clumsy for that sport. Music is something I love, R&B mostly, although I'll listen to mostly anything.
I also love pie. Pie is life, especially pecan pie. It's damn near traumatizing knowing that I haven't eaten any in like five years. Sad times.
The Dharvian Empire struck Tenas, the elven god of war, from the pantheon and have claimed his worship a heresy and a crime against all living things. Angered by this, the god commanded the elven nation of Menas to fight the humans in his name. Thirty long years of war ensued, claiming thousands of lives and debilitating both nations. The humans, however, were able to eke out a victory by forcing the elves to sign a treaty with the stipulation that the worship of Tenas be banned. This was known as the Farriday Treaty, having been signed in the citadel of the now-ruined city that sits on the border of both nations.
Within a year of signing the Treaty, Tenas flung himself into the heart of the Dharvian Empire and destroyed the capitol city of Lenerose.
Tenas has now taken the Grand Citadel as his home, sending out legions of armies against the living. Many cry out to the other gods to protect them against Tenas' madness, but their prayers have remained unanswered. The world is on the brink of destruction, the planet moments from cracking like an egg.
The gods have promised not to interfere in the mortal plane, and thus have chosen a number of heroes to act in their place. Heroes they will imbue with power to put an end to the mad god before he destroys the world.
Ability generation - Point Buy
Characters start at lvl 3
Sheets - Mythweavers, Ghseet, or DnDBeyond
Backstory isn't required, but it does help me immerse your character into the campaign
Starting equipment depends on class or simply choose the alternative gold option
- Using a potion is a bonus action, using it on someone else is an action
- Getting knocked out and being brought back up will give you the Staggered condition - Upon getting back up you only have 1 option of either an action, a bonus action, or movement until your next turn
- Crits are max damage dice + another damage dice - So if your weapon deals 1d8 damage, a crit would be 8 + 1d8
- If you fail a skill check 3 times (doesn't have to be consecutive), you gain a point of inspiration. It stacks with bardic inspiration, but doesn't stack with itself
- If Fall Damage reaches or exceeds twice your Constitution Score (not modifier), you take a point of exhaustion. Triple your Con Score brings you to 0 hitpoints. Four Times your Con Score and your character is dead.
If you feel like your character would make a roll for a particular skill (like perception or stealth), go ahead and make the roll in your post without me prompting you. I'll resolve the roll in my DM post
If I need you all to make a particular skill check I will mention the DC and in a hider, what a successful check means.
As in: You you all come upon a narrow alley, everyone make a perception check: DC 14
There's some dancing thieves fifty feet down the alleyway and two more gambling with dice
When rolling initiative, go ahead and take your actions within the same post and I will resolve the round in a DM Post. After the first round, post your actions in any order regardless of initiative.
When casting spells that require a save DC, post the required DC and roll the damage.
We'll mainly be using Theatre of the Mind for combat. Unless I specify the specific range, here are some terms to make things easier: - engaged - Within 5
- Near - Within 15 feet
- Far - Beyond 30 feet
- Cluster - Enemies are within 10 feet of each other
That's honestly perfectly alright! I like it, 'cause it's definitely flavourful! But yeah, go for it! It sounds neat. Keep in mind there may be a penalty on your character for sight-based perception checks, though
