It's not meant to. I thought you were being nice to Kyrisse and I liked it because of that.
Maren and Aelar

collaboration with @Venku

Maren helped Elyra make sure everyone was fit to leave and they got the campfire and camp itself torn down and ready for their departure. They needed to get back on the road. She brought the last part of the tent to Aelar to put on the travois.

"I'm sure glad that all of the injuries were healed but I still don't know who could have that kind of magic that could heal everyone from all those injuries at once . And Why would they want to heal us?" Maren said.

"Just be thankful that they did." Elyra said. She went off to see if James needed any help.

Maren looked at Aelar, "What do you think about it?"

"I'm just as uncertain about why the person helped us but I do recognize the spell. It is a life spell called Vulsamnia it heals all physical wounds inflicted on the targets, however the caster would die. Before the war Magi were capable of using it without dying but now... it should be impossible." Aelar was very familiar with this spell as his own healing magic was derived from it. This made him more curious about the mysterious savior.

"All I know is it's kind of scary that there is someone out there with the power to heal us all. If they can do that then they should be able to take it away and hurt us all too, right?" Maren asked.

"That is true but if they wanted us dead they didn't have to act. I have feeling they want us to make it to the Wasteland, there might be something or someone waiting for us there..." He said as he ran theories through his head. "Either way all we can do is make it there and find out."

Maren nodded and smiled on the outside but on the inside she was very worried. They were out in the open all the time and to be taken by surprise ....it was an easy attack for the opponents.

Aelar noticed worry flash through Maren's eyes which she quickly hid with a smile. He was worried too but he turned it into determination; he couldn't lose her, she was the first person he ever had in his heart and he would die if he lost her.

Maren moved over to the other caravan people and helped them pack things up and when she was done she came back to Aelar. "Why do you think they attacked us to begin with?"

"The only explanation is the Empire had released information to them. They were probably meant as a test or they regretted letting the Magi out." Cold light flickered in his eyes as his hatred for the Empire grew deeper. If it hadn't been for the mysterious mage who saved them they all would've died.

Maren saw how cold his expression was and she reached over and picked a leaf off of his shirt and dropped it onto the ground. She sounded upbeat for a moment. "Well I guess we had be better prepared for the next one then." She slid her arms around Aelar and looked around til she saw Elyra finishing with putting her medical supplies away.

It was only a few minutes later that the entire group got back on the move. They were all a lot more careful to be on the lookout especially around more enclosed areas. Weapons were out and ready for attack.

Aelar walked with one hand on the hilt of his sword the other wrapped around Maren's waist. When he did seperate from her it was for no more than a couple minutes. Whenever they went through an area where an ambush was possible he cast Nature Sense to keep an eye out.

Nikki Hishamie

Nikki looked at her son sleeping so peacefully in her arms. He was the best thing she had ever accomplished in her entire life. She couldn't get over the amazement of having created this living being. He was magnificent and perfect in every way. Kyle seemed to be as shocked and amazed by it all as she was.

Ingrid had made sure that she brought back diapers from every supply run that she could. Every brand and size she could find were brought back. she knew that babies went through tons of diapers. So in the end there was an entire room full of baby supplies of all kinds. Bottles, formula, cereal, cases of baby food, diapers, clothes even laundry soap were stocked in there. It seemed with everyone getting pregnant there was a large supply of things in need. Ingrid also brought back wagons and pull carts and whatever else she could find in case they needed to leave on foot.

Ingrid and George just got back from a supply run. Ingrid came in and gave the guard instructions and they ran out of the building. She went to find Matt and Nikki.

Claudia and Alex

with @Kyrisse

Claudia remained silent the whole time that it took them to get back to the bar. But her arm was curled possessively around Alex's while she lost herself in her thoughts, the events that happened only a few minutes ago playing in her mind. She knew that something was up, she heard the unrest in the house, she heard the voices. And when she heard Alex cry out in pain, it took all of her self control not to break down the door and charge outside. Even though she had only known him a short span of time, she was already possessive and protective of him. But no matter how much she wanted to tear out the throat of the person who hurt Alex, she didn't want to walk into something she should not be poking her nose into. She was, after all, an outsider to this family. When he returned and she walked into his arms, he told her what the meeting was all about. A war was coming.

Her hand tightened its grip on his arm. He was hers. There was no way she was letting him fight in the war alone. If he wanted to protect her, she was sure as hell gonna protect him too. As soon as they stepped into the bar, Caius met them and handed her his apron. He asked her to cover for him and then rushed out with Callie before she could say anything. She shrugged and then turned to Alex and asked the question that has been bothering her since leaving the Prescott's house. "Who hurt you back there?"

Alex sighed and looked at Claudia and smiled. "I think I like this side of you. Caring and sweet definitely suits you. I'm fine, it was just a family squabble, nothing to worry about." He kissed her cheek and finished tying his apron and looked around the room and headed towards a table on the far side of the room to clear and wipe it down.

His mind wandered back to what had happened and thought about Grant for a minute as he cleared the tables. The vampire was younger than he was by a few hundred years. He knew he is Piper's boyfriend/mate or whatever they were and he didn't want to hurt her so he had not fought back when he put him in the wrestling hold. He had been surprised when he had bitten him and started to feed on him. This was purely done out of disrespect. He had seen Piper come in and when he did he felt Grant dig his teeth in deeper so it ripped when he was pulled off of him. He would deal with Grant another time and he needed to let Piper know that if he tried that again he would not hold back.

Family squabble. If anyone tries to hurt you again, I'll... Claudia's mind brought up images of herself tearing a faceless vampire's throat and dismembering another. She stated at Alex for a few minutes as she put on her brother's apron. She still couldn't quite comprehend how it all happened but here she was, involved with someone that belonged to a race she always thought she needed to hate. Well, that hate was now fierce loyalty and undying devotion. After all, wolves were very faithful and steadfast to their chosen mates.

She made her way to the bar and her attention was immediately called by an already drunk male vampire. "Hey little she wolf. What do you say you and me get wasted and blow this joint? I'll show you a really good time."

"No," Claudia continued mixing drinks and did not even bother looking up.

This infuriated the vampire. "What? You think you're better than me...above me? You're nothing but a flea bitten rug pretending to be something more," he stood up and took a swipe at Claudia, one that she easily sidestepped.

Maybe being with Alex mellowed down her anger or maybe it was just her fulfilling the role of a bartender. Whatever it was, she didn't lose her cool. She slammed a shot glass onto the bar counter in front of the vampire and smirked at him. "Drink up, old man."

The vampire glared at Claudia but the alcohol in front of him distracted him and he fell to silence as he downed the liquid. Claudia promptly ignored him but then another male accosted her attention. A werewolf this time. The man winked at her. "A vampire doesn't have a chance with you, I'm sure. You and I are the same. So what do you think of hooking up?"

Alex was also calmer since he knew that Claudia was his but he wasn't about to allow anyone to harass her either. He watched as she handled the vampire and when the vampire backed off he retracted his fangs. When the wolf started hitting on her he walked behind the bar and when she looked up he smiled at her and tipped her chin up and kissed her soundly. Then Alex smiled at the wolf and walked over to finish putting the load of clean glasses away. He was smiling. He chanced a peek up at Claudia's expression.

The wolf looked at Claudia and at Alex. He seemed to stare at Alex for a moment then he said something that made Alex grin like a predator upon sighting his prey. "You are the Enforcer!" Alex nodded "It seems my reputation precedes me." The wolf quickly finished his drink and left a little unnerved. Alex watched the man go and he kept working slightly concerned about what his recognition would bring to the bar.

As the surprise of Alex staking his claim on her so blatantly faded, a sense of belonging and contentment settled over Claudia. A satisfied smile found its way to her face as she watched the werewolf hurry out of the bar. When they were alone again later, she would have to show him just how much she belonged to him.

At the corner of her eye she saw Lucinda speaking to a woman. She inhaled sharply. She was human but the way she carried herself clearly spelled out that there was more to her than meets the eye. She didn't mind. Just as long as she stayed away from Alex, everything between them will be right as rain.

After Lucinda introduced Ashley to him and her instructions sounded vague to any non vampire he knew he might have to explain what she was to Claudia. He watched as Lucinda left and he got back to Claudia. He pulled her to him and didn't pay any attention to the smirks and grins the customers were giving them. He asked her quietly if she had any questions about Ashley.

All the werewolves stared incredulously at Claudia. While most tolerated the vampires in the bar, seeing her openly display her relationship to one was almost intolerable. There were low grumbles but none made a move to complain or speak up. Claudia couldn't care less. "Just as long as she stays away from you... whoever she is and whatever role she'll play here, I won't mind and I won't care."

Alex couldn't have cared less what anyone else thought about his ladylove being a wolf. She was his and nothing was going to change that as far as he was concerned. He spoke low so only she could hear him. "She is Lucinda's blood doll." He could tell that the term was new to her and he said "She is Lucinda's walking blood bank. Lucinda will feed on her whenever she pleases and that way she doesn't have to hunt when it is dangerous for her to do so, like during a war."

When the growling and grumbling got loud enough to annoy Alex he turned and shouted to the room, "That's ENOUGH!"

"Blood doll," Claudia repeated and then nodded. She'll need to get use to the terminologies. When Alex shouted to the room, she turned her attention to the handful of wolves who glared at her. How dare they? Her temper mounting, he stared back at them and bared her teeth the way a rabid dog would, a low growl in her throat. The werewolves glared back and decided that it wasn't worth their time to stay. One by one they left, the last one muttering "Tyrant" as he left. "Tyrant?" Claudia repeated and then laughed out loud. But her laughter died in her throat when a vampire near them sneered.

"Your new lap dog, Alex?" the vampire raised his eyebrow arrogantly at Claudia.

The instant the words were out of his mouth the vampire found himself hoisted into the air by his throat as Alex strangled him. His eyes glowed a deadly red, his fangs were dropped and he growled to the vampire in a guttural voice that dared him. "Apologize to the lady." The vampire could barely breath let alone speak. Alex adjusted the man's position and he stammered "I apologize miss." Alex threw the man ten feet and when he got to his feet he yelled. "Watch out North you don't want anything to happen to your precious wolf." Alex was a blur in motion as he ripped the head off of the vampire and threw it like a basketball. The body he carried around back and put it in a hole that he would fill with concrete early the next morning.

Going back inside the bar he looked at Claudia as he locked the door and sighed and he pulled her into his arms. "I will not allow anyone to threaten you. You are my love and I'll kill them all if I have to." Alex lifted her onto the bar and turned the lights out. He buried his head into her as he wrapped his arms around her. Then he looked up into her eyes and he kissed her possessively. Claiming her right there as his mate he whispered the words to her. "I love you Claudia."

Claudia's heart beat increased its tempo in response to the violence she witnessed from Alex. Oddly enough, seeing him so aggressive made her want him all the more. Silently, she watched him walk back in. He let her lift her onto the bar with no resistance. When he wrapped his arms around her, she responded by wrapping her own around him. And when he kissed her, she responded with fervor and need. I love you Claudia. His words snatched at her heart. She had heard the same words so many times from her past relationships. But she has never spoken the words back. But now... She looked into the eyes of a predator... Of an enemy... Of a lover... Of her mate. "I love you, Alex," she whispered back. She lifted her hands and began stroking his head. "But you really can't go around killing your kind and my kind just because they offend me."

Andrew and Lucinda The Engagement

@caits@dabombjk@venku

Lucinda heard the cycle pulling up as she left the bar. Sliding on behind Andrew she wrapped her arms around him as they slid into traffic "Hey baby, let's go find some Novak witches. I got a lead that they are downtown somewhere."

"Sounds like fun, hopefully they aren't going to intentionally hide from us. Though that would make it more exciting." Andrew chuckles at the thought. Noticing a particular scent on Lucinda, "You found a blood doll? Pretty strong scent considering you didn't just feed."

Lucinda smiled "Yes I did, she is getting checked out and then she will be available tomorrow. I can't wait. With this war I don't want to have to go out and hunt."

After the entire fiasco with the vampire assassin Mako and Madison left the shop and fixed themselves up. Mako used his magic to speed up the healing process, but could not heal all of Madisons injuries entirely. He was not very adept at healing magic. After they patched themselves up, Mako and Madison walked the streets discussing what to do next.

Madison kept her senses up as they walked, glancing about them constantly, she was sure there was fresh scents of at least one of the Originals around, and she constantly went back on herself, following it, she knew it was heading towards the bar, the club where it seemed this all started. She grimaced, wondering if it was worth it to head there, or try and follow the scent back to their dwelling.

"There's a fresh scent, what do you want me to do?"

Mako spoke. "We need to stop reacting. Follow the scent and lets confront the Original."

Madison nodded, and she began to track the scent, hoping this wasn't going to get her killed, she noticed that it was moving, and she sighed. while she was sure she could hunt down the scent-or scents as it seemed there was another vampire with the Original-she couldn't do it in her human form as effectively as her wolf. She stopped, tilting her head, listening around them.

Lucinda sat back on the cycle while they were at a red light and she could feel the magic in the area. She pointed Andrew in the direction she needed him to go in. "I'm feeling magic coming from that direction." When the light changed they moved in that direction.

"Any idea how well they get along with us vamps?" Andrew asks as they get moving.

"No, all I know is that we need to protect them from Samuel and his people while their magic is down. Maybe we should go back to the bar and see if we can get more info from the customers there. What do you think?"

"Sounds like a better idea than going by our senses, quicker at least." Andrew turns back towards the bar.

When they arrive Lucinda took Andrew's hand pulling him into the bar with her. Alex was at the bar and she asked him, "Any word on the Novaks? We need a location or a way to find them. Keep your ears open." Lucinda ordered drinks for her and Andrew and they sat down at a table across the bar.

"Since we're going to be waiting for info to come in wanna go do something fun? Alex can keep an ear out and call us if something comes up. " Andrew wasn't one for sitting around and waiting, even when the thing that he was waiting for was important.

"Okay that sounds great." She stood up and waved to let Alex and Claudia know they were leaving. She stood up and let Andrew lead her out to the bike. Wrapping her arms around his waist she asked him "So where do you want to go?" She cocked her head a little to the side giving him a mischievous look.

"Well there is this place nearby with a great view and it just happens to be near one of the tracks I race at" It may have been a while since he had come by here but he remembered a valley he found last time he raced nearby. He started heading out of town following the winding roads to a parking lot near a hiking trail. "We will have to go on foot from here," he said as they came to a stop.

Lucinda held onto him enjoying the feel of the bike and the wind on her hair. When they pulled off of the road she looked around and got off of the bike. She let him lead her through the trail and she felt carefree for the first time in a long time.

"So tell me. Why did you stay away for 20 years?" She said holding his hand as he led her through to a clearing.

He was caught off guard by the question. "Well 20 years ago I knew that you were still holding onto Garrett and I believed that if I stayed conflict would arise. I didn't want to face the implications of my feelings and ran away so I could avoid choosing to act on my emotions." He sighed, he had regretted his decision for years. "I didn't return until now because I was afraid of causing you harm. I only came now because of how urgent your message was."

Lucinda dropped her eyes. "I knew that I loved you even then. When you left I just held onto Garrett tighter I should have called you home sooner. The one time I didn't listen to my instincts and it backfired. We both got hurt because we were afraid to speak up." She looked around at where he had taken her and she smiled softly. "It's beautiful here." She pulled him to her as she wrapped her arms around him again and laid her head on his chest.

He smiled, "It really is which is why it is the place I chose for this," he says as he gets on one knee and pulls a ring out of his pocket, it is gold with a blood-red diamond surrounded by smaller white diamonds. "Lucinda Elloise Prescott, will you marry me? "

Lucinda stood in shock as he slipped the ring on her finger. She was trembling and nodded through her tears of joy. "Yes, I will marry you." She kissed him deeply as the realization that Garrett could barely stand Andrew made her chuckle a little. She couldn't figure out why he didn't like him other than he knew that Lucinda loved him. She laughed and said "You get to tell Garrett." She wiped her tears. "How long have you been carrying this ring around?"

"I made this ring about 700 years ago while traveling with Marco Polo in Sri Lanka. I have held onto since then saving it for today." He had learned many things over the centuries training under various people who were masters in their respective fields, jewelry making was one of those things. "All my preparations paid off," he said as he runs a hand through her hair.

She looked at the ring. It's details were perfect and she realized something. "Are you telling me that you've loved me for 700 years?" The amazement was plain to see in her eyes.

"I have loved you for almost 1000 years, I fell in love with you during the first decade of following you. All of those years where I didn't follow you directly were spent preparing for and dreaming of today. The years I did follow you were spent learning as much as I could about you." He smiled at her surprised expression and light seemed to dance in his eyes.

Stunned and speechless Lucinda threw her arms around him and kissed him so passionately that she was afraid her legs would collapse underneath her. "How could you wait so long to tell me? There were so many times that you had the chance to say something...we've shared a bed so many times and you never said anything...you knew I hadn't been with anyone else, til recently. I hadn't even been with Alex in over 200 years..." She looked into his eyes and let him see the pain in them. Deciding not to dwell in the past she held onto him and she pulled him to his feet. "I love you Andrew Langston and I'm not letting you go."

"I'm not going anywhere, I am done running from my feelings. I love you too and nothing will ever change that. I acted like a coward before but now that I have you I have nothing to fear." He wrapped his arms around her and kissed her neck, his more primal urges welling up.

Lucinda kissed him back deeply. The heat of the moment spoiled by a wolf howl. They were technically in wolf territory. "We should go home." She raced him back to the bike and her laughter rang out as they went back to the house. When they burst through the front door of the house she laughed and they went into her room slamming the door. Lucinda was in his arms before the door latched shut fully.

Lucinda Elloise Prescott

Lucinda smiled as she got up and shook hands with Ashley. "Alex will be here by 10 at the latest so anytime between 10 and 11 is fine." Lucinda brought her out to the bar to introduce her to Alex. He happened to have just kissed Claudia in front of a wolf at the bar who after a moment or two gulped his drink and took off. "What was that about?" Lucinda asked.

Alex shrugged. "He knew me by my ...title." Lucinda looked up. "Oh he did, did he? How interesting." She brought Ashley forwards and said "Ashley will be here in the morning between 10 and 11. I'll be around shortly after that. She is now part of my line so keep an eye on her. Ashley this is Alex, Alex this is Ashley." Lucinda left the bar. She had some Witches to find.

Lucinda listened to Ashley and nodded. "That won't be a problem at all. We just got up here from the south, where I'm sure you would have known who we were the instant you had stepped into our territory. I'm sure you have heard of the three Originals. That would be myself and two others. I'm sure my coven can handle protecting you."

Lucinda pulled a physician's card out of the desk and handed it to her. "Go here for your physical and bloodwork. I'll get the results in 24 hours. There are a few chemicals that even our noses can't pick up. I'm sure you understand my caution. This is my address and cell. I'll expect you here at the bar in the morning then."

Lucinda Elloise Prescott

Lucinda walked into the bar just after a young, human woman. She appeared to be normal on most fronts however, Lucinda knew immediately that she wasn't a normal girl. Her scent was that of a blood doll. Her blood smelled extremely clean and was already enticing to her. She smiled and sat next to her at the bar. Offering her her hand to shake she got a look at the ultraviolet tattoo on her neck and smiled. "I'm Lucinda Prescott and if you are not elsewhere employed I would like to do business with you."

Alex looked up and sniffed a little in their direction. Recognizing what the young woman was he smiled slightly. "The office is free if you want to use it Lucinda." Lucinda nodded. "Thanks Alex." Lucinda ushered her into the office and sat down at the desk. "I am in need of your services."
