I'll let you know why when I know which character it is.

And it's probably just because this is something we started before you became co-GM, and there are some things I like to keep hidden from one or the other of you. After all, you know some things expolar doesn't

I'm almost certain that @Zarkun is referring to your time mage if that helps @Caits ^^;

It was a context thing that you probably didn't pick up since you seem quite busy...or on a device rather than a computer? One of those I imagine.

>.>
General Questions:

1.) A mage is allowed to have multiple magics(aside from masters)? Does this require that each magic be weaker or less versatile for balance purposes?

2.) Is there a limit on how many characters one can make?

I would assume you'd be good for Arc of Time if the GM herself didn't already have a time-based character. I'd link you the sheet, but I have yet to find it. I could probably help you find unique and/or fun stuff if you'd like to work with me. You have, of course, seen the magics on the fairy tail fanon wiki? It's like the collective originality of a whole bunch of people.

I actually tend not to look at fanon wikis, but I could take a look if you think it's worth it :P

I was going to say that we do have a lot of characters and their own magic so it would be a bit hard to describe most of them. So thanks for the help there Lugubrious.

Normally I would say that some idea of how your character might be and the magic that he/she would use does help discuss if it will work. But you beat me there when you said depending on the magic, it could be abused on purpose or accident. But again, have those "weaknesses/limitations" like you said, does help us discuss about the magic that you have in mind.

By the way, there's already a wizard that uses time related magic. But I'm not particularly sure on how different it is to arc of time. @Caits uses the character so you could try asking her about the magic.

*Addresses both your and @Lugubrious's points regarding Caits' Time magic user below*
Hmm, I see. Well I can ask her how it works and see if there enough notable differences for both to be allowed and even if there are and she isn't comfortable with that for whatever reason that's perfectly fine. She's a GM, I'm a new player, plus first come first serve I suppose so that's fine.

As to the capabilities of Arc of Time as my character, Aevus, uses it, well....

Arc of Time works by creating isolated areas wherein time moves at different speeds, or conversely influencing things the mage has contact with via time. This is its general capability as I remember/understand it.

One of the most notable things about it is its ability to interact with alternate time streams/alternate timelines.

Aevus utilizes this aspect in particular when it comes to Arc of Time. He prefers to create isolated areas, which often appear as if inside small bubbles or other geometrical/organic-looking shapes made of a film soapy or energetic substance. He will alter time streams within these "areas" to create varying effects. The only "spells" that he uses which even vaguely resemble the Contact-type capabilities of Arc of Time are as follow:

Time Lock: Aevus appears to passively utilize Arc of Time magic directly on his own person to keep his body from aging past its mid twenties. The reality is he still ages as Aevus can't actually stop time, just drastically slow it down within one of his "areas". So sure, he ages, but much slower than average.

Second Origin Release: You can read the link, or you'll just recognize this from the manga (or anime if it has gotten that far). If not though, a mage's Second Origin is more or less a second "mana pool" within their body that is almost always initially dormant. This "spell" accelerates time on a user's body and effectively forces the Second Origin to become accessible to the mage in question. This process is extremely painful.
As to constraints on Aevus' Arc of Time magic, well the ones that I already have in place are as follow:
  • Aevus can only slow or speed up time in areas
  • Aevus, with two exceptions, cannot utilize "contact-type" Arc of Time magic.
  • Aevus can only mold time that is within the bounds of his magical energy(Aka within his "areas"). *I could set a maximum size for the areas.
  • The larger the object the harder it is for Aevus to alter the time flow around/in it. *Requires more energy and/or focus
  • Aevus cannot directly manipulate the flow of time in people or other magic.

I can surely add more if I'm even able to use him and if it is deemed necessary.

@yoshua171
There are quite a few options you can take. Being me I made five characters because once I get an idea I can't stop. xD My first guy is a god slayer that uses two other magics to further increase his abilities. My second guy manipulates mercury and familiars. My third uses vibrations and a magic that enhances his physical capabilities. He is also an oni. My fourth guy uses Digital Make magic and my fifth guy is pretty much has a screwed up curse inflicted on him that turns him into pure calamity. So yeah, just about almost anything is on the table. xD

Digital magic? How does that work if I may inquire.
Kk, sorry to bother ya if I did ^^;
@yoshua171
We're trying to limit any slayer magic since we have a few too many.

No problem on that account. While I do consider myself a Dragon enthusiast, I wouldn't be aiming for Dragon slaying magic. As to Demon or Godslaying...idk, honestly they seem too OP so I'd be avoiding those anyways.

Thanks for the tip btw ^_^

Hi

If o had time I'd welcome you more fully as it is I'm going to pawn you off to my co gms and my minions waves at* everyone to answer those questions

Yes. We are open. we have a vast amount of magic from ice to fire to water to earth to slayers and more

I shall let others tell you more

I will e d the event too in my next post whenever I get home

Sounds great, thanks for the welcome ^_^

<Snipped quote by yoshua171>

Greetings, new friend! If you make a sheet and the GMs approve it, you're as good as in! Let's see if I can't answer your questions...

We've got a lot of slayers and a lot of sword-users. There are more young people than middle-aged or old.
Basically, name any Slayer, be it Dragon, God, Devil, Phoenix, what have you, it's taken. All of the more mundane Make magics are too, and basic elemental ones. There's a big amount of Requip, mostly for weapons, and a fair amount of summoners.
Doesn't seem to be that way. I haven't seen any turn-downs for anything but new Slayers recently, even Lost magic is more or less okay.

Lost magic you say?

I actually have a character named Aevus who uses a lost magic. He's an A rank mage and I'd probably have to vastly expand his history as the RP I had him in initially had his backstory hidden and only told to 2-4 others who knew him before he joined the Guild haha.

I am...wary in posting him though as he uses "Arc of Time," which I know can be abused if not regulated as with anything that manipulates time, space, or other such fundamental forces.

If at least given a chance to balance it I assure you I would include reasonable weaknesses/limitations in the magic description and find other ways I could balance it :)

However, if it is just straight up taken or banned, that's fine as well and I can surely come up with something else/use a different character ^_^

No worries~
So this says it's open, that accurate?

If so, hehe, well I've been looking for a fun, at least medium-paced RP with interesting people for awhile. Oh yeah...and stability. This seems to have most of those things, and it's in a 'verse I'm familiar with too!

I glanced somewhat at characters, but I didn't really feel terribly inclined to read all of them, not because it wouldn't be enjoyable, but because of the sheer amount of 'em :P

As such my curiosity leads me to wonder the following:

"What kind of people are common in the RP so far?"
"What magics are taken?"
"Are there any magics that are strictly off limits?"

So yeah, I suppose those are my questions if the "OPEN OPEN" part of the title and the join status of "APPLY" are to be trusted *shifty eyes*

Anywho. Hello everyone! I think I've seen a few of you before, though I could be wrong, but yeah. What's up? Where's the story headed?

How do you make your favorite homemade dish?
I'll stop rambling now and actually post this

P.S. Hi @J8cob!
@Skallagrim I sent you a PM a few days ago in regards to character things. I'm patient, I'd just like to make sure I'm not being ignored haha ^^;
<Snipped quote by MelonHead>

Mhmm.

All worth it to get Senpai Skallagrim to notice me.

Also calling it now, Fallenreaper is probably secretly Lyzan.

She's not ^^;
I fully intend to send one in. I'm just deciding who.
Nazomeku, Eiji - Wireless

Step by step, the echo went as Eiji broadcasted his location, as if he were unaware that his opponent were likely nearby. The only reason they'd have quieted down was to hide and hiding meant they were either avoiding him or ambushing him.

He wondered how they'd do it.

Turning the corner, Eiji passed within 2 meters of his quarry. Though if he were attacked, the shinobi's sharp reflexes would react properly. If not, he'd continue on his path.

However, after walking for another 5 seconds he'd send off a small pulse of chakra to detect his surroundings. If by then Damien had not moved, he would be spotted--though Eiji was hardly one to show it.
Bump. Anyone interested?
