But she was a seal, not a fighter. Yeah, eternal combat and whatever, but locking someone is totally different! Besides, we're not killing anyone; they might as well be simulations!

But they think they're real! From our perspective they're following some predetermined path, but from their perspective they're making their own choices, doing their own thing. They have free will, whether their actions are predetermined or not; that's the whole point of free will!

Alright... Here goes nothing.
*Flies my small ship through a portal, appearing not far from Waternaux City. There are massive energy domes of various colors all slowly and simultaneously stretching around the galaxy-sized city*
What on Earth is that??!!... Talk about making preparations.
*Soars into one of the domes' untouched gaps undetected and lands in an old, unused hangar. I step out of the ship and look around*
Alright. Time to go to work.

That's just not true. Their minds are still working, thinking about their choices. Even if their choices are going to be a certain way, it doesn't mean they aren't making them. Making a choice is like looking at a number of paths to do something and following one of them. It doesn't matter if all the other paths are actually illusions or not, because you chose a path!
