About you: I am more outgoing on this site than I am offline. (Oh, so shocking!) I have a habit of swooning over the other player's post before even attempting a reply. If a player gets me drunk enough on his or her literary skills, I may even tell him or her. With that said, I usually take over an hour to articulately type-out a post. Russian love novels make me blush, and my room is full of them. I think stickers and stuffed animals are a necessary investment. My socks enjoy interracial relationships, and therefore, they rarely ever match. I have had an obsession with Snorlax ever since playing Pokemon Y. He hated training exercises. Despised them, really. Yet, as the Knight Captain of the Duchess of Toussaint(a mouthful of a title), he had to attend them on occasion not only to spur the rest of the guard through their exercises, but to let Toussaint's Royal guard know that he wasn't an assimilated court politician. In the past, there had been a stigma on the position that aggravated him greatly, one that even his predecessor had not been able to shake. Damian had warned him about how he would be perceived by his men. He could hear the words bouncing through his skull now as he passed the dimly lit lanterns of the Cockatrice inn:
"Volgorl, things will not be the same! You will be considered beneath the politicians whom you are sworn to protect, yet those in your command will look at you as one of the politicians! Confusing, isn't it? But that's what comes with the post."

He snorted a laugh at the recollection. Damian had been drinking a bit too heavily that night, but what had he to lose? He was retiring, getting a fat pension from the Duchy and would finally be able to relax those bloody shoulders of his. Never once did Vol see his former commander's shoulders relax. They were always taut, rigid. He didn't understand that until he received the position himself. With so much on the line at seemingly EVERY instant, Vol hadn't the slightest idea how to relax, even when he wasn't protecting the Duchess or other royalty that happened to be with her. A mischievous smirk came cross his face.

Other royalty, indeed.

His horse suddenly slowed from it's triumphant gallop to a simpering trot, the beast snorting, neighing and making a gigantic commotion on the starlit path.
"Come! Almost home, almost ho-" His horse raised it's front legs, the knight captain's relaxed grip on the reigns costing him his seat on the saddle, flying onto his back. Grunting with effort, he raised himself, dusting off his chocolate colored trousers.
"We're going to have a talk when we ge-"

Hissing. His right hand gripped the handle of his blade, sliding it out of the scabbard just enough so the widest part of the blade glittered in the pale light of the moon. Suddenly he became painfully aware of the noisy chainmail covering the leather chestpiece he wore, the clinking of his studded gloves. More hissing. Coming from all around him on the empty path. Drawing his sword fully, he proclaimed:
"Show yourselves! You might receive a bit of mercy for surrendering now instead of paying with your lives!" The threats didn't deter the hissing, which came closer. From the northwest corner of the path came a beast...then another. He had seen these before: wide bodies with spider-like legs, sharp protrusions coming out of each appendage.

Kikimores.

His horse had ran off, allowing him to survey his attackers. There were five of them, converging on his location. It was true that Vol had strength on his side with his burly frame and sword skills, but not even one of his might and experience could tackle FIVE of these creatures without any assistance.
"A first time for everything." He muttered to himself as a Kikimore lunged at him with a poisoned limb, the knight captain dodging right and slicing vertically, chopping off an appendage. This seemed to enrage the others, who were now sprinting towards him.

About you: The most important thing a partner needs to know about me is that interaction is far and away the best way to keep me interested in a story. I have had very passive partners in the past that were all too happy to let me direct the story and it can fry my muse and kill it very early on, so having a partner who is more than willing to reach out to me with ideas and recommendations is invaluable. If you're enjoying the roleplay please let me know, and the same goes if you are not. I don't take personal offense and welcome constructive criticism. But most importantly, if I am quiet for awhile or take a long time getting back to you with a response either in the roleplay or via messages then please do not take it personally or assume I've lost interest. I have struggled a long time with depression and it comes and goes, often sapping all my creative energy in the process, so sometimes I will completely forget to check RPG. This is my main reason for advocating the use of messengers outside RPG, so that I can be reached via apps on my phone even if I'm not immediately available to log into the website.
Looking For: Someone willing to take some kind of direction in writing the story. I love the collaborative effort of plotting and having a plan but don't be afraid to throw a curveball my way. I also have a tendency to over-analyze and get carried away with directing the story so having a partner who isn't afraid to call me out on that is a plus. My ideal partner is someone willing to put up with me constantly asking questions and running ideas by them. I also highly favor long-term storytelling, so getting to know my partner and vice versa will likely come with that territory.

OOC Chatter: Yes please! I would like to say it isn't mandatory so that any potential partners aren't scared away, however, it's goes a very long way in helping me keep interest in the story and keep to a regular posting schedule. In the past silence from my partner has often led me to lose interest or forget about the roleplay altogether when engaged in several ongoing roleplays with more talkative partners. I do prefer that offsite messengers be utilized if at all possible, for a more direct line of communication, but it isn't absolutely necessary.
Plotting: Plotting is definitely mandatory. I need a clear outline of objectives or goals to be able to write my best, as driving blind tends to quash my muse.

Mature Content: Yes, I tend toward storytelling that often includes a variety of dark and adult themes and don't like to sugarcoat or fade to black as it takes me out of the story. Preferred Gender: I prefer to play heterosexual females as my main, though am very open to introducing supporting characters of varying genders and sexualities as the story progresses.

A lone human scrambled across the ravaged landscape of Gliese 581 c. She ran towards the ship she had downed, a behemoth she’d find over the ridge, when she could no longer see the city she fled.

Far behind her, tucked into the red crumbling cliffs, someone realized they’d let their guard down.

“Where’s Shae?”

Alexandru burst through the meeting room doors, eyes wide with panic. Europa turned to him sharply, while America jumped to his feet, knocking the table. Alexandru didn’t care about him. He scanned the room, completely in vain. Where is she?

Europa, calm, collected Europa, gaped at him. "You let her leave?“

They have no idea, he noted with a sinking finality. "No, of course I didn’t let her leave,” he snapped, glaring at Europa. The past few days had finally begun to fry his nerves and chip away at his patience. "Since when does she ask permission?“

“Would she be in the city?” America asked no one in particular, wringing his hands into his hair. He couldn’t have sounded less convinced in just asking it. He wasn’t fooling himself at all.

“Of course not. Why would she slip away like this if it was to stick around?”

“Did she take a craft?”

“I haven’t heard anyone say that one left-”

“Then where the hell does she have to go?”

“Maybe she’s going to Ya Shi,” Europa suggested. "Asia has Keira and Skylar, remember? Shae was dying to hear more about those Earth weapons.“

“But then why would she not have taken a craft or something?” America pointed out. "No one would survive that trip on foot.“

“I don’t know-”

Alexandru waved at both of them. "No, no, that’s not it,“ he insisted, getting more icy tendrils of dread. "She’s going for that shipwreck over the ridge.”

There were weapons on board. Shae knew how to pilot it. And she could use it to get off the surface.

It had to take a moment to sink in.

“She can’t leave Gliese,” Europa murmured, more to herself than to them, rising from the table and skirting around America. She glided to the window, staring at the fluorescent lights lacing the top of the dome.

“It’s like we have to have her on suicide watch,” America muttered, yanking a protective jacket off a hook on the wall. All the while sending a few glares to Alexandru.

The lights… Europa’s dark eyes widened. She snapped around to seek out a clock on the wall. Oh no… “That little sneak,” she hissed. "The lights will go out any minute. She planned this!“

Shae would. Shae would.

Danie pushed through the door, not skipping a beat. She couldn’t find her around either. "What are you all doing?” she asked, pulling on a protective jacket.

America almost pushed his sister aside, storming up to the door. "Your friend has lost her mind. And her boyfriend there-“ he pointed accusingly at Alexandru - "didn’t keep an eye on her!”

Alexandru bristled. "Are you saying?-“

"I don’t think she’s lost her mind,” Danie interrupted quietly, moving between them. The coolness of her tone brought America down a bit, but her words chilled them both for another reason. "I think she knows exactly what she’s doing.“

Europa lowered her eyes. "That’s worse.”

Danie glared at all of them, standing around the room in various states of anxiety. “We need to go now,” she ordered, zipping her jacket.

Their craft waved a tail of dust as they crossed the desert before them. From Urbem Europa, the closest ridge just managed to hide the sight of the shipwreck. But once atop the ridge, the skids of the ship tore an ugly scar across the sands.

There was no smaller craft near it. Just torn hulls of metal from the impact, creating unnatural sculptures like tendrils growing from the barren ground.

Europa disembarked from their small craft first, taking in all the details. The emergency doors on the side had been forced open, and the wind was sweeping piles of dust into the corridor. It already looked soulless, like it’d be abandoned for decades. But it could come to life any minute. They didn’t have much time.

The others were behind her in moments. Alexandru and Danie were already striding in front of her, talking among themselves. “Where in there would she be,” he asked her.

Danie surveyed the ship herself. "She would have maybe gone for the engine room or the loading bay,“ she pointed out, near the back of the ship, "or the main controls,” to the front. “She’s getting harder to predict,” she mused.

“Europa, America,” Danie called back to the two still hanging back. They were both huddled with uncertainty. For once, they were out of their element. “You two, go to the engine room. If you find her, the closer you can get to her, the better. You could take her down in close proximity.”

“Well, I knew that,” Europa muttered.

“Alexandru, go to the loading bay. I’m going to the main controls.” Her orders given, Danie strode into the ship and became someone else. She completely melted away into the shadows.

Alexandru wasn’t far behind her, though he had to glare at Europa and America to move their asses. "I can bring you partway there,“ he promised. The siblings exchanged glances Alexandru couldn’t discern under their helmets, but they followed him in anyway.

Ledges just below the ceilings spilled red light into the inner hallways. Small white lights illuminated the sides of the corridor along the floor. The metal walls felt small and crushing compared to the outside. Europa started feeling dizzy quickly. She’d never seen Alexandru in soldier mode. He was quiet - quieter than she’d ever think him capable of being - and careful, slow and crouching close to the floor. She could barely hear him move. Compared to him, she felt clumsy, and America, always bumping into her, seemed loud and was taking up too much space.

"The engine room is that way,” he eventually said to them, pointing them down a separate hallway. Through the helmets, Europa could make out just enough of his face. He looked tortured. "Be careful,“ he whispered, and was off down the opposite hallway.

As soon as Alexandru was gone, an eerie stillness settled over the hallway. There weren’t even footsteps to be heard reverberating. It made it worse, like they were in a vacuum. The narrow walls felt like they’d close in any moment. "Let’s go, then,” America whispered to Europa, gesturing down the hall. The stillness was making his skin crawl.

Europa made it to the engine room first, America watching behind them. The entryway was open already and the room inside looked dead as they stepped into it. The wires and pipes strung all over the engine room cast odd labyrinths of shadows across the floor. It looked untouched, as far as she could tell. It was all too easy to imagine Shae hidden among the pipes and tanks, but she couldn’t hear a sound to suggest she was there. In fact, everything was still way too quiet. There were no hums of machinery, barely any lights blinking, virtually no lights at all, actually, aside from the emergency exit lights.

Something wasn’t adding up. Europa paused, looking over cold machinery that should have been warm by now. "… why isn’t anything turned on?“ she asked aloud.

They both heard something then.

I read AAR (After Action Reports) of Victoria II or Hearts of Iron III and I also read the World in Revolution series (A nation roleplay that was really popular until the original creator retired). Then, I found this site because of Google and made my account four months ago.

Not a huge fan of fandom's. Even when I do one its usually with original characters, just using their setting.

Preferred Length: look, length is relative. You can pump 5 paragraphs full o worthless shit, and have a single paragraph in the middle of a conversation that has everything you need. I find two to three paragraphs is a good average, less in conversation, more when something new is presented.

Writing Sample:

Mienies Windblade sat at the edge of the cliff, her back to the open air, her closed eyes towards the dense forest she had come out of. The lone survivor of the slaughter at Camden, it was all she could do to clear her mind and focus. Her ancestral armor lay beside her with her twin tachi and twin tamahawks. the thin under shirt and pants she still wore did little to conceal her body as the wind plastered them against every curve. Her long black hair flowed with that wind as if dancing with it, channeling it into her body like a windmill.

The year was 124 A.a. (after Armageddon) and though ruins and relics were still littered across the continent, little of it was used except as scrap. Much of the lore on how to make or use such relics had been lost, and the new way had been working well enough that no one yearned for the old ways.... since it was those ways that brought about the end. There was no more electricity, no guns, no cars, no money, and no global government. Mienies knew things were different on other lands across the seas, but those people had left this land to the savages. Well, to the hybrids as well, but the hybrids had spread all over the world. Here, in what was now dubbed Eden, life had returned to a happier, though more wild time. The savages kept to their tribes, the hybrids kept to their wilds, and both respected the land and nature. In response, nature had regrown with a furver never before seen. Plants quickly reclaimed cities, dams were shattered, and the animal population exploded. It had truly become a garden.

Aside from the ruined signs of what was once a vast civilization, that last blemish of the old world were the Wights. Wild, savage things that appeared like pale emaciated humans whose body was literally eating itself. They were strong, fast, and had no fear. They existed only to feast on the flesh of the living, and spread their disease. It was thought that they had been destroyed after the new age had begun, but here, after 100 years, they had returned. Returned and slaughtered her tribe. She had to know where they came from. Had to finish them off once and for all before they started another apocalypse.

Mienies took a deep breath of the cool night air, feeling the moon glow at her back, and taking in the sounds of nature around her. The wind in the trees, the rippling water of the lake at the base of the cliff, the night animals, and her own heart beat.
