Despite how optimistic and cheery I may usually seem, I'm actually rather easily embarrassed and very easy to stress out.

My initials are actually "KMS". I often wonder if that's a divine sign.

Is he okay?

He will be fine.

My son has a history of headaches. I can never tell if they are real or if he is faking just to get out of doing something he doesn't want to do. For me and my son it is always a "Boy who cried wolf" scenario. When he was in 2nd Grade, he told me he wanted to play football. I didn't want him to, because I didn't want to risk him getting a concussion. I told him he could play football when he got to Middle School. He is 12 years old in 6th grade now.

My son is also a black belt in Kempo Karate. He is a fast runner, he is quick on his feet and has great endurance. He would make a good running back, but on top of that I have been training him to be a receiver for years. We play catch all the time. The first week of practice, he never dropped a ball. But the local youth football teams changed authorities. It used to be that all players were grouped according to size; weight. This year, the rules changed and they are grouped by age/grade. My son is 4' 9" and weighs 93 Lbs. He is the 3rd smallest kid on the team. The average player on the team is 5'2" and weighs 110 or 120 Lbs. With his proven abilities and skills and his size relative to the rest of the team, they assigned him to be an Offensive Lineman. Wow!

My son went home crying that night. Everyone on the line is larger than him. I watch him in practice and in games. He is always overwhelmed, but he keeps fighting.

Wednesday night, he took a hard hit in practice, but he never complained about anything out of the ordinary. Yea, he said he had a headache, but that is common place with this kid. He always has a headache. See the second sentence of my post. Thursday, his black belt class in Karate was sparring. His partner was apparently wailing on him pretty badly. He took three hard hits to the head. When Karate was over, he was crying. He complained of a headache and being dizzy. He is always trying to get out of football because of his size and the fact that he always gets overwhelmed. I assumed he was faking it and gave him a ration of shit. I let him talk to his mom who works in healthcare. I have no clue when it comes to health matters. It is not my lane. I'm a soldier.

We kept him home from football practice Thursday night and home from school on Friday. The wife took him to the doctor's office and they diagnosed him with a mild concussion; no sports for a week or more and no school until his headaches dissipate. He goes back to school tomorrow and I feel like an ass. :/

Everyone has an accent they could listen to all day. For me, those would be Australian, Scottish (lasses with Scottish accents mmf), and British (I don't know which specifically, but an accent like Keira Knightly's is the one that comes to mind). Love hearing ladies speak like that.

No reason to feel like an ass. You were doing what you thought was right based on past experiences. That's all anyone can do, especially in the case of a parent. I'm glade he's okay thought. Also, I'm not sure if I've ever told you this or not - but thank you for your service.

My favorite accent to date would probably be British. It's no big secret that 'foreign' accents make my American heart nearly stop beating.

Anyways, for my fact.... I hate using a hair dryer to dry my hair. It drives me nuts. Why, you ask?
-Because it makes me hot
-I have a shit ton of hair. It's long, it's thick. It's a lot of hair, okay? Just thank the gods it's straight.
-It makes my hair straighter than what it already is.
-It also makes my hair frizzier than what it is.
-It wastes power.
On the other hand, the only benefit is that it saves time and makes it easier to deal with through out the day. Blow drying my hair is essentially the same as using a hair straightener for me.

I usually just towel dry it until it stops dripping everywhere and then let it do the rest on its own.

I have a kinda nasty habit of speaking loudly/raising my voice without realizing it, much to my chagrin and the chagrin of others.

I am as audibly distinct as I am visually distinct. What one most likely imagines this ancient felid to sound like is probably accurate, although I lack any form of accent whatsoever. I suspect that my living across varied places over so long is the core of that, in that I never once was anywhere long enough to adopt a specific alteration to my speech or its delivery. Fortunately that makes it remarkably clear, but largely undefined in novelty, obvious aside, at the same time.

Everyone has an accent. To oneself and to those who sound like us, we would admit we do not have an accent. But, someone from another culture who speaks the same language and sounds different than us would say we have an accent. I've often found myself admitting that certain British actors have a great American accent in movies/television shows. Colm Meaney in "Hell on Wheels"; Damian Lewis in "Band of Brothers" and Lennie James in "The Walking Dead/Fear the Walking Dead" are all perfect examples of British actors with excellent American accents.

Oh, and as for a factoid...

I found a copy of a 2005 D&D movie on YT that I wished I had not watched last night because it was horrible in almost every sense of the word. I think the Rogue was like the only entertaining aspect :/

about 2 weeks ago from this very day, I lost 600 dollars in the stock market. first, I lost 50, then I lost 100, then I lost 400, all by increasing the amount of shares I trade exponentially. I made the mistake of increasing the share size so I could make up for the loss prior.

I've been making money steadily since then. phew, if I had lost 200 dollars more, I would have blown up my account. I will never increase my share size without prior belief that it's time for me to increase share size (which will only happen if I have a month of solid gains)

I raised a child that wasn't mine from birth to 10 months of age with a woman that would punch me in the head. I came to accept him as my own, and then her and I broke up and I lost him in an instant.

I miss him still. I hope he's doing well.

He was, but the situation wasn't. It was a lose-lose situation. Either keep getting punched in the head, or lose the little baby boy I came to love. She made that decision for me though. Despite everything I did for her she left me for another man who, from what I've heard, is an absolute douchenozzle and does nothing.
