I was in the Chess Club.

Same, actually.

I enjoy a good game of chess. In fact, I had a brief career as a merit badge counselor for a boy scout troop where I taught a class on the game of chess. Until my son quit Boy Scouts.

I have never played an actual game of chess or checkers. I have only ever seen a table for them with the associated pieces but have never once actually engaged in the game or even so much as watched one. Card games however, those I am not unfamiliar to and many, many hands were dealt. It became a recurring trend to not play said games with the cat and out of such boredom I learned a fair few sleights. Not a practical thing in any sense but an interesting skill to have added.

Related to the topic of board and card games I was in several school clubs in middle school. (High school didn't have clubs.) A general gaming club, with many of such games to choose from. Though I can't tell you much about it, because I hardly remember it. I did play a lot of master clue and won literally every single game.

And possibly slightly more embarrassing, depending on how you see I guess. I was also in drama club. Because acting! The first part I played was meant to be this very serious role that I turned funny because I used a very Irish accent. And they just rolled with it. So I got everyone laughing by talking about somebodies murder, so that was fun. I also learned that I could do the best blood curling scream as a man and a high pitch shriek of a women. (better than any of the others in the play.) Though the ones running it cut like, half of everyone's lines. Little by little, which basically everyone found annoying. I believe the one that got me to stop was when they switched the people who lead it. As they made a bunch of people at lunch, including those not even interested in doing it, try out for one particular part. And afterward they gave a bunch of people, me included, background character positions with like one line, or no lines at all. And young me said, fuck that shit. (To be fair despite probably being one of the more vocal students, I wasn't alone in giving their part up, including people that got main roles and didn't really want to do them.) I honestly don't remember hearing anyone talking about that play. I don't even know if it actually was done in the end.

I used to play MTG, but without anyone else to play against, I lost interest. However, I did blow a good amount of cash on Ixalan booster packs because dinosaurs.

When I was in High School, I was a member of the Gaming Club. We mostly played Dungeons and Dragons. Occasionally, we played this modern role play game called, "Top Secret".

I might never have engaged in any social clubs or groups during my period of public education, primarily out of resentment and desire to not even be remotely affiliated with the school, but I did come to learn about tabletop games via roleplaying that was done through storytelling. Roleplaying was never a new phenomena to me, rather when people started sorting out how things were done via self imposed rule sets or those borrowed from other systems, that is when I came into discovering them.

My time in the chess club was fourth and fifth grade.

While in middle school and high school, I never was in any clubs, no participated in sports. I also never attended any sporting event.

On the subject of card games - I love poker, and have on hell of a poker face. Or so I've been told.

I have a sadistic streak that I mostly aim at my dog. Nothing more than teasing, I swear, but it's just so funny to see him react to me asking, "Do you wanna put on a sweater?" He knows what they are, and he hates them. But he's three pounds and lives in The Land of 10,000 Lakes, so he's going to wear one sometimes.

Years of struggling with poverty, depression, narcissist family members and various other issues and I've finally realized how it all started. Were it not for one specific individual, I wouldn't be the way I am now. Nearly all my current issues would've been null if it wasn't for that one, specific asshole, whom I haven't spoken to in almost a decade now.

When I was in High School, I was a member of the "Stage Crew". If there was a school run show on the stage, those of us on stage crew worked the lights and the curtains as well as moving sets around. If an outside party came in to put on a presentation, we were paid minimum wage to work the lights and curtains. It was a fun gig and I got paid real cash to do it.

Of all the things I would consider eating, dog is not one I find appetizing. I fail to see such an attraction to it and relegate it instead more to a concept that probably arose out of pure desperation to avoid starving in places it became culturally associated with.

I'm really goddamn nervous right now.

Of all the things I would consider eating, dog is not one I find appetizing. I fail to see such an attraction to it and relegate it instead more to a concept that probably arose out of pure desperation to avoid starving in places it became culturally associated with.

greater the pain, greater the pleasure. the more brutal way the dog is slaughtered, the tastier the meat.

You, my dear, need to calm the Hell down. I meant it as a joke. A violent one, yes. But a joke none the less. No reason to be so... hostile.

But still. I find the fact that anyone would eat a dog to be a tad disturbing. Sorry that offends you.

I'll just say this. Me and that dog have been through a lot together. Homelessness, mental and physical illness, two family deaths, and more. He's my best friend, and if someone killed him on purpose, I'd be on them so fast their head would spin. As far as I'm concerned, he's not a pet, he's my baby brother.
