Just wanted to pop in to say it's looking like I'm probably dropping S.H.A.D.E. It just... really doesn't want to happen for me, right now, and I think I need to move onto other ideas.

And as far as other ideas go, I'm thinking of doing something with Vigilante and a 7 Soldiers of Victory lineup... But I also don't want to be that guy that plays the same thing over and over again. So, we'll see.

I don't think it will be a concern, but I'll leave this here just in case.

My recent post, while none of the actual content is of issue, may vaguely resemble through lines of dialogue and other items certain scenarios of assault that could potentially be upsetting. Again, I don't think it'll genuinely be a concern for anyone, but I'm aware how certain contextual bits of the post can resemble other things and I'd rather speak up just in the off-chance that it might trigger something for anyone.

Alright... took me a lot longer on this post than I wanted. It went a few different direction as I tried to settle on what kind of story I want to cover with the Outlaws. I'm still very much trying to figure that out, but I have started to gravitate towards covering the sort of underlying psychology of these characters to help make sure I differentiate them enough beyond the superficial. Don't worry, we'll get to the fun buddy cop Outlaws stuff. The characters just need to come to terms with a few things first personally before that can happen.

Working on a post as we speak. @Polyphemus, @Tackytaff (If you're in for the event?), @HenryJonesJr, sorry to keep you all waiting. Batman is most definitely making an appearance soon.

I'm spending my night catching up on the IC, which I admittedly have been slacking on - though I'm on page 3 now! - and I have to stop for a moment to say this.

@Bounce I just read your Al-x introductory post and it is probably one of my favorite posts I've read in these games in a long time. Had me smiling and interested the entire time. I know you haven't posted since then, I remember you saying something about finding it difficult to muster motivation due to some IRL events. But I just want you to know, I am very excited to read your next one when it does come!

THE (UNFORTUNATELY) UNFORGETTABLE
Plastic Man

Patrick “Eel” O’Brian ♦ Flex Armstrong Quality Inspector ♦ Mammoth, Montana
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

”I've got nothin“

Pat’s life has been a hard but manageable one. With a nasty but ever present family life and an almost non-existent social life, Eel’s life took a morally dubious turn early on in life which consisted largely of being a juvenile delinquent and barely turning his life around a little later in life. The main claim to fame that the town of Mammoth had was it’s Stretch Armstrong factory, one that had been the cornerstone of the local economy since the 90s. Naturally Eel found himself employed there after trying to turn a straighter edge.

He found no amount of satisfaction with his new career but it was a lot less stressful for the would-be criminal. As time went on Pat’s dissatisfaction grew up to the point that he’d heard rumours floating around from some of his old buddies that they were planning a robbery of the plant and skipping town. With the intoxicating allure of his old life calling, Pat offered to help out which brings us to the beginning of our story…

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

Honestly the main reason I’m applying with Plastic is because a certain someone said it’d be a good fit for me. I’ve been a HUGELY passive fan of Plastic Man ever since I first discovered him watch Brave and the Bold when I was little and subsequently read up on him in my DC encyclopedia. I’ve had quite a few characters that I’ve wanted to write for a while but just haven’t because I felt I couldn’t do them justice. Now I’m coming to realize that sounds stupid and I should just go for it and give it a shot.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

Wolfgang “Woozy” Winks - Eel’s best (and only) friend. The two have known each other for most of their lives. Hates his nickname but puts up with Pat calling him it since they’ve known each other so long.

ISSUE NO.1 coming soon!

The last time I looked at this app, it didn't have a sample. That was quite a few days ago, clearly, so it's my fault for not re-checking. @rocketrobie2 is APPROVED for Plastic Man.

Meant to toss up a sort of mini announcement yesterday, but it'll suffice today. To try and keep myself more on top of a scheduled and because I've started developing a backlog of posts again, I'll be doing Monday Mayhem posts with the Outlaws. Essentially, just gonna try to get back to the same schedule I used to and borrow the old @Bounce method of giving a name to the day of the week you're gonna post.

So, that being said, expect a lot more Outlaws coming your way.

C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T P R O P O S A L
S U P E R M A N

Clark Joseph Kent ♦ Intern ♦ Metropolis ♦ Truth and justice.
C H A R A C T E R C O N C E P T:

"True strength comes from lifting up those that have fallen."

Clark Kent, Kal-El Of Krypton, The Man Of Steel, Last Kryptonian.
Intern at the Daily Planet and last in his fantasy Football league. Just joking, Clark wasn't invited to play Fantasy Football.

Clark is a nerdy kid from Smallville, Kansas. By all accounts, a perfectly normal, albeit, maybe a little weird, young man. He went to High School, then studied at an online college, majoring in journalism and photography. Spent his teenage years chasing the 'Wall Of Weird' with his High School buddies. All the while yearning for, searching and eventually dreading a destiny. This is the tale of how mild mannered Clark Kent becomes The Man Of Tomorrow, and how he protects his city, and all of the world.

His first journey into heroism isn't stopping a meteor from crushing the planet, nor is it lifting an airplane out of the sky. But it'll be about him tackling the concept that there's a world outside of Smallville, and all of the dangers and excitement that brings.
Clark is 22 years old and has just moved to Metropolis to fulfill his destiny, and it starts with a red T-shirt, a blue jean jacket and a internship serving coffee to the reporters at the Daily Planet.

C H A R A C T E R M O T I V A T I O N S & G O A L S:

Why Truth be told, Superman is my favorite Superhero, and honestly, maybe one of my favorites in all of fiction. But he wasn't always. There was a time where I thought the boyscout routine, the do-gooder and godlike powers got stale after you realized every other hero can also fly and lift heavy stuff, but face far more challenge than Clark. But then I realized what Superman is about, at least the parts that resonate with me te. And there in lies my motivation to play him and show what made him my favorite after all.

It comes down to the heart of the character, the constant burden of carrying the world on his shoulders, sometimes quite literally. The knowledge that being the most powerful being on the planet, yet still just a regular guy. The powers to be a god, but lacking the hybris to do so. Superman, at his core, is someone who always considers others in every action he does. I want to chronicle the alien who proves we humans can be better, Superman is the best of us because he brings out the best in us. I want to tell his story, and how he got there.

C H A R A C T E R N O T E S:

TBD As the IC Progresses.

S A M P L E P O S T:

"Y'know, my dad always told me that I could achieve anything, as long as I put my heart into it and worked hard. The sky's the limit, he would say. I'm starting to think that maybe... He was wrong. I don't think the sky's where it stops. Not for any of us." The black haired man said, chewing lightly on a pencil, trying to think of a way to solve the riddle presented to him on the paper in his hand. He scratched the back of his head, pushing his glasses back up when he grabbed the pen from his mouth again.

"Crossword giving you problem, Smallville?" his brown-haired coworker mocked from the other side of the lunch room. Well, coworker, she was Lois Lane and she was technically his boss. Or at least higher up in the food chain than him. The way she had explained it to him on his first day here, two weeks ago was Lois was a dolphin, Perry White was a great blue whale, and Clark... Well, Clark was a guppy.

"Yeah, it's a real tough one today." Clark murmured, having just filled in 'Sky'.

"Try 'Ahab' That usually does it." Lois added, grabbing her lunch from the fridge, the salad box that said 'Olsen' on it. Clark shook his head. "I don't think Ahab was the 22nd President of the United States". Lois raised her eyebrow. "It's Grover, man."
"Cleaveland. Like the state. C-L-E-A-V-E-L-A-N-D" Lois spelled it for him and he couldn't help but to snicker a little about it. "That's not how you spe-" He was interrupted by Lois walking past him, back to her desk to eat her lunch. She was always working after all. "Good talk, miss Lane." Clark concluded, returning to his crossword.

A few minutes later, Jimmy Olsen, the up and coming hotshoot photographer for the paper walked into the room, looking for his lunch. It was gone. He let out a loud groan. Clark picked up sirens thanks to his extraordinary hearing, and if there was one thing to know about Mr.Kent, was that he tried to be where the sirens were.

He put down the crossword and turned to Jimmy. "Hey, Jimmy! I'm just about to do a coffee run for Mr.White, I'll grab you a sandwich from McLarens while I'm out. Meatball sub, right?" Jimmy nodded. "Yeah, extra marinara, thanks Clark!" Clark smiled, walking towards the exit, taking the stairs in favor of the elevator. The sirens moving past him now, two blocks east. Once he knew nobody could see him in the staircase, he ran towards the roof. Once he emerged onto the roof, the grabbed the backpack he had left hidden by the side of the entrance. He took off his glasses and dress shirt, revealing his red T-shirt, grabbing the blue denim jacket from the bag as well as the pair of aviator goggles he had there and the black ball cap.

Once geared up, he ran towards the edge of the building and stepped off, in one leap, he had cleared a block and a half, flying through the air.

Alright, big announcement time.

After talking it over with a few people and getting their feedback, I've come to a major decision regarding the game: we're pulling the plug and starting something else in it's place. This particular game has been limping along for the past few months, and I attribute the fact that it even survived that long to the players who stuck with it. You're good people, which is why I want to also say that the news ain't all bad for you. Here's why.

Long and short of it is, we're taking another crack at One Universe. While it won't be set in a Year One, like this game - it'll be set five years after Superman's debut - you all have the option of transferring your applications/posts over there and getting automatic approval if you've made a post in DCUG within the last month. You can continue where you left off if you want, if feasible, or adjust some minor things to accommodate the setting. You can also reboot your character. If you want to try someone else, that's fine, too.

But there'll be a secondary factor to consider. Since I don't feel as though we'll be raking in higher-than-normal numbers in the midst of the pandemic, I'm throwing in an added incentive: everyone gets the option of one DC and one Marvel character. Yes, two characters, as long as they're from the opposite imprint.

The *restriction* on this is that we'd be treating each character individually. So if you really want two, you gotta put in at least one post of both characters every two weeks. Not nessescarily reinventing the wheel there, but it is something to consider nonetheless.

Lastly, Batman will be available to contest from the start. I've ran out of steam with him and am looking into other avenues. I also realize that I've spent way too long hogging up the cowl and want to take a step back, regardless, so I doubt I'll be taking it back up anytime soon.

I'll allow a few days for this announcement to sit, since I realize it's a drastic departure and a bit out of left field. But I felt it was for the best. RPs focused on one of the major comic imprints are still neat in theory, but times and tastes have changed.
