Growing up a street punk in Liverpool, Johnny Constantine got the nickname "Johnny Blazer" for two reasons - the absolute spitfire he was on a pair of wheels, and the near constant blaze of a zippo from chain-smoking his cigarettes. John got himself caught up in sex, drugs, rock and roll, and cultism - dabbling in black magic and demonology. One night, his biker gang (The Bollocks Biters) attempted to summon a demon, but instead got way more when they bargained for - The Demon Zarathos. The Demon opened a hellish portal before them, and upon viewing and inflicting their own sins back at them, laid waste and killed everyone in the gang, save for it's leader - John Constantine. Instead, Zarathos bonded with him as his host, controlling his body and transforming him into a vicious monster intent on bringing sinners to justice with hellfire and brimstone. In his purest form, The Demon Zarathos is a yellow sinned muscle bound creature, with a winged cape and spiked gauntlets - but when manifested upon Johnny, instead Johnny's face ignites in flames, burns away, and in it's place is the Demon's Skull - noticeable by the fangs and short horns. For more than 10 years Johnny "Blazer" Constantine has been trying to find a way to separate the demon from himself, while periodically forced to do the Demon's bidding. The two of them can communicate telepathically in one mind, and exist as two different distinct personalities. Now, Johnny "Blazer" has become "The Hellblazer" - a justice seeking demonologist trying to find away to bring peace to his own existence.

I want to play John Constantine because he's always been one of my favorite comic books to read. I loved Alan Moore's run obviously through Swamp Thing, (but Dangerous Habits is probably my favorite story arc in any book, let alone JC.) I wanted to throw a character into the mix here who has more of a supernatural bend, in case we head into any story potential that would need an "in." Originally I wanted to play as Jason Blood or Johnny Blaze, but Jason Blood's personality is a bit stuffy sometimes, and Johnny Blaze is more of an open canvas - I think JC has the strongest personality, and in story the Etrigan Demon, Zarathos, and John Constantine could easily come into contact each with each other given their actual storylines. I figure due to the back alley dealings of John Constantine, he'd also have "Jason Blood" and "Johnny Blaze" as some kind of alter ego's. But he's not imaginative enough to think of anything that doesn't all sound like the same guy. I'm looking to connect him with anyone, and I think the "Rider's" control over Johnny's body would give him reason to run into the other heroes of the story.
