Riley Ridgeway

Location: Classic Building, Apartment 3C, Riley & Cecily's Apartment

Riley looked at the man and would let out a soft sigh as he ejected the magazine and the chambered bullet out from the gun, and handed it to her, which Riley gently took the gun from him she had never held a gun before which was weird to hold. "I don't think it would turn out well and my fans would be devastated if I was suddenly shot dead." Riley laughed nervously as she set the gun down onto the counter feeling more at ease now that neither of them would be able to hurt one another. "I never did get your name by the way." Riley said as she turned over to grab two mugs from the cabinet and then got things ready to brew the tea.

Once it started Riley walked over and pulled up a seat next to him and started to listen to what he had said, Riley leaned forward listening closely to what he was saying she knew that Danica most likely didn't kill herself the night before. The description seemed to similar to the woman that had attacked Cecily while at the Coroner's. "Do you remember anything else, what the woman looked like, or what she wore any other details that you can remember?" Riley asked, and then looked over her shoulder and stood up seeing that the tea was ready as she walked over and handed it towards the man. "And I honestly don't think that Danica killed herself, the times that I did see her she didn't seem to be depressed or anything like that." Riley shrugged slightly.

Felix Hausten

Location: The Block

Cursing under his breath he watched the officer retreat from him and quickly pocketted the 20 withdrawing a sigh from Felix's lips. He was hoping he'd be able to pass that one off easily. He pulled a sour face as he realised he was already being played as a vu8lnerable foreigner by this common cop here, havign his money explouted and his seemingly lacking knowledge of this town being used to the others advantage. He narrowed his eyes, desperately trying to think of a method to turn the tables back in his favour but it seemed like going to the ATM was the only safe course of action.

He rolleed his eyes and gave the officer a sort of absent wave as he made his way out of the barricades and down the road to the ATM, sighing the whole time, convinced to get some sort of tip or clue to the goings on down here. Itw as always interestong to throw an investigator type in to help heighten the tension...and thus he needed thpse detective notes to know what sort of case he had taken under his wing.

$30...$40...$50, there that has to at least satisfy him for a bit" he muttered as she flipped through his lney double checking they were legal tender.

Caesar Gonzalez

Location: Queensguard Industries RnD Industrial Complex - The Diamond District

Caesar looked at the one security agent leaving fast and angry, smiling internally. Between him and the quivering mass of squishy humanity that was tossed out on his ass, he knew that his girls were doing their jobs. He paused his Scorpion's forward momentum just long enough to catch a little video and snap a couple of stills before continuing on the the front security checkpoint.

So, he was "The Mexican" they were supposed to let in. At least that's what he heard over the radio. This means his M'hija saw him pulling up. Either she was very busy, which was possible, or she was unwilling to speak with him unless he had a compelling reason. Maybe he was being paranoid with the personal investigation he decided to launch. Even if he was, that paranoia led back to his daughter's worksite. Considering the related deaths that had occurred recently, Caesar really didn't care if Alicia and Lorna thought he was completely, rabidly insane. He was following this up. But first...

"Yeah, you can search me. Go ahead." he taunted. "I'll tell you exactly what you'll find, too. A large, painful knife. Another large, painful knife. A Heckler & Koch .45 pistol with lots of bullets, and the paperwork that says I can carry them; out there 'cause my permits are valid and in here 'cause I'm the fucking boss."

He stepped in close to the younger security agent, close enough for him to detect Caesar's subtle cologne. It was a wood scent, he was sure of it. Wood, and weapons-grade testosterone. "You'll also find a flask containing some of the finest mescal you've never had the pleasure of standing this near to. Search the trike, too. You might find a roadmap and some Fritos." The old man did have a fondness for Fritos while traveling. "Ball's in your court, Security Guard. You want to search a man that can fire you, on the spot, with a history of cutting open chingΓ³nes that piss him off and bungee jumping with their intestines?"

The novice guard looked like he was going to soil himself and pass out. "Nnn... uh, N'Yes! Um, yes, Sir, Mr. Gonzalez, sir. I, um.. we ah, have to search you. Sir."

Caesar smiled genuinely. His voice picked up to a much more personable tone. "Good. Unless it's by Executive Order, everyone gets searched, no matter how important they think they are. Even me. You'd better get to it."

After a fast but thorough search, Caesar was re-equipped and on premises. An escort showed him to the main security room, where he immediately found a terminal and started running a company-wide search on Gretchen Mortgage LLC under his security clearance. While that was compiling, he uploaded the footage he had taken to the same corner of MSS's intranet, as a readily available backup. He had some searching to do, before returning home for his eventual meeting with the Forensic Tech, Cecily. While pouring over his work for the next hour or so, the elder man flagged down a base level employee, tasking her with two things: Find him a strong cup of coffee, and inform Alicia that her presence is required at the request of her father.

@Nallore - The man chuckles a bit and nodded. "Yeah, probably not but from the looks of how you handle that gun you would probably end up shooting yourself before me," he laughed a bit as he looked over to her. "Oh, sorry about that. Yeah, I'm Ronni." Holding out his hand and giving her a light shake before glancing around her apartment. "You're that singing Riley right? Yeah, seen you on TV, not bad. Surprised you live here. Figured someone like you would be in some high class joint over in the Diamond District," he said before looking back over to her. Ronni shook his head a bit and scowled. "Na, wish I did but I was high as a kite. And yeah, I agree. Dani wasn't that type. She was onto something. We were supposed to meet this morning. To go over a few things, she didn't think her sisters dead was a suicide either. Got an email from her yesterday. Oh here," he said pulling out his phone and tapping up the email. It read as follows.... Ronni, I think I found something. Remember that thing my sister mailed me? Saw a drawing of it. Think we should check it out, I'll see you at our meeting spot in the morning. Dani~... - In the attachment on the Email was an image multisided object and flyer for the Juno Rollar Derby Team Game tonight that had a sketch of the something similar next to it.

@Scallop - The cop sat there on the stoop and just glanced around, getting up every so often to move press that would pop up here and there back off the street. When Felix came back he took the money and shrugged a bit as he pocketed it. "Well, rumor is the girl was the sister of the previous suicide in this building. If she was, seems the sisters had mental problems. We did have a theft though in the evidence locker not too long ago. A gun similar to the one that was used last night was stolen a weeks ago."

@Sigil - Alicia is working in the room when Caesar comes in, trading small talk with Lorna but the two step out to check on somethings in server room as he steps in. They are back there for a bit but one of the other security officers comes back with the coffee and goes to inform Alicia that her father is paging her. While Caesar is going over the video there isn't much to make out, well there is but not a lot that he would understand. Much of it is in another language, Russian. When Alicia comes back inside she takes a look and can't figure much out but she does point out one thing. "Okay, that woman... I know her. That is Stephanie Gretchen. She owns one of the largest real-estate companies in the city. She was the one that sold this building to Queensguard."

Unpacking was going as tediously as it usually had been for the past couple of weeks, but some things weren't quite matching up. The tape on boxes had been removed, things were arranged in a way that didn't match up with the fact that they had been sitting in a box mostly undisturbed for weeks, and the boxes themselves were moved around a bit in ways they weren't when she had left earlier in the day. Nothing seemed to be missing, but she almost wish there had been missing shit so she wouldn't feel like such a paranoid nut.

The feeling of paranoia just grew stronger and stronger until she felt compelled to actually check for more evidence of a break in of some sort. The front door was pristine, so unless they had a spare key, nobody got in that way. A lot of times in movies or, it's laughably easy to make your way past a standard door lock. All you needed was a bobby pin or a credit card, and given some finagling, you could slip your way in. Given a really shallow or cheap lock, maybe, maybe you could force your way through a door by jamming a card into a door crack, but you'd be there for several minutes at a minimum shaking the door looking suspicious as fuck. Nah, to successfully pick a lock, you had to have specialized tools and be some kind of locksmith or specialist, otherwise it was easier to either bust the whole thing in or get in through a window.

Speaking of which, there was all the proof she needed. Whoever broke in did a sloppy job of hiding it. Couldn't even close the window all the way. Judging by the way the wood was splintering on the underside and that the apartment was 10 feet off the ground, whoever broke in used a crowbar, went through all her shit and then left. Mali tried to think over why anybody would want to do this to her specifically.

Well they might not have done this to just her. For all she knew, every apartment in this building was similarly broken into. She'd have to check up on that. But as far as motive went, she could only think of two realistic possibilities. They were either looking for something that clearly wasn't in her apartment, or they were spying on her. Why they would want to spy on her was a mystery.

"Fuckers refused to even give the courtesy of keeping the apartment temperature properly regulated." Mali shut the window as best as she could to minimize the amount of cool air being lost before re-prioritizing her mental To-Do list. Unpacking would have to wait. She briefly thought about calling Relic, but the emergency, if there ever was one ended quite awhile ago. And although she hated to admit it, she wasn't even all that surprised that the apartment had been broken into. A lot of the time people claim that their peace of mind or feeling of security in their home was violated but in a Justice apartment, could anyone really claim to have such things in the first place?

Still, being on the receiving end of a B&E at this specific time on this specific day wasn't doing anything for her paranoia about the whole city collapsing in on itself. Unpacking right now would have to wait. First thing's first, check to see if anyone else had their apartment broken into, then tell the landlord about this so she can get a new window. After all that, then she would need a way to make sure there weren't any repeats of this situation. Maybe she'd need to invest in a firearm of some sort.

Now that Mali thought about it, didn't that one woman from the Mexican family say that they were personal security personnel last night? If that was true and she didn't mishear, maybe she would ask them to help out.

Leaving her apartment and locking the door, she took the quick and mercifully less painful trip down the stairs to the ground floor. She'd just make a quick trip around the three apartment buildings that made up Boston Heights and look for any signs of break-ins on windows that weren't hers.

Joseph 'Tank' Cooper

This was really fucked up. Tank himself felt like he was someone who had seen a lot of things, and certainly they'd left him cynically optimistic about how these murder cases often panned out. But he didn't recall if he'd ever seen a man strapped up to so many devices while a younger woman giggled and smiled at him because he was so messed up. Even Greg played along. He didn't show any discomfort on his face, mainly because it was so creepy that it went full circle to amusing.

He felt a bump on his ribs and Greg's comment. He smirked back and chuckled, before following him towards Wallace. He tilted his head and leaned down, examining the indention. Flashes of his past suddenly screened in his head, and his dying partner's last words echoed in his thoughts. He spoke a moment later. "All too well." he muttered, then stretched his neck as he lifted back up, rubbing it.

"So..." he said aloud, his thoughts already racing past his words. He spoke to himself more than anything. "What I'm wondering is why he wasn't killed." He could only imagine the looks on their faces after he blurted that out. Probably best to fill him in on what he was thinking a second before. "From what I can gather, I doubt a pistol whip could do that to him by itself, so whatever chemical is in him, that isn't alcohol, I would gather was put in him afterwards. Hell even if the hit did this to him, still begs the question why someone who didn't want to be seen would keep him alive. That means that either One-"

He placed his left pointer finger out and put his right one on it to count. "-whoever did this only hurt him with the pistol and didn't have time to finish him, or the gunshot would have been heard. Two, if someone injected something in him, they wanted to keep him alive to send us a message, as odd as that sounds. Or three, it was someone who had reservations about killing, and if that's the case this investigation we're doing just got larger, because the supposed perp we might be after about all of these 'suicides' does not have any reservations for such a thing."

He shook shrugged, then let out his final thought. "And for what he's saying, sounds kinda like Prison or Prisoner to me."

@Dragoknighte - Looking outside Mali is able to see a few places that look like someone tried to get in - all on the back side of the apartments and not the side facing the street where the cops are. It doesn't look like there was any pattern but from what you can see it looks like the following apartments were either broken into, were tried to be broken into, or had at least been at one point - almost every one in Mali's building; 2A where the Whites Live, 2C where Lana lives and Lyle once lived, and her own 2B. The other buildings seem to be have left alone right now. Oddly it doesn't seem like Lorna and Alicia's place was hit. The only apartment hit outside of Mali's building was 3A - JD's apartment. (Each of the apartments have been empty practically all day.)

Detective Roy Gregory

Location: Justice Memorial; Room 2319

Roy nearly went white when he heard the word that Wallace was trying to get out of his mouth. The old man blinked once towards Cecily and then passed back out. It seemed that just getting that little bit of information out was more than his old body could take after everything that had happened to him in the last twelve hours. If only he could actually get out more than just half of a slurred word right then but he couldn't.

It didn't matter, the way the color flushed from Detective Gregory's it was more than obvious that the man knew something. Stepping over to the door he pulled it open and looked at the uniformed police officer. "Gleason, go on and get some coffee. Tank and I got this covered for a bit, we aren't going anywhere soon. Might as well get a break and something to eat," Roy said and Gleason seemed more than happy to not have to be standing at that door a moment longer than he needed to.

Closing the door carefully he looked around and grabbed his note pad and pen out of his pocket and scribbled down on the pad quickly before holding it up for Cecily and Tank to read. Check for bugs! We need a clean room. - Once he was sure they read it he slipped the pad back into his pocket and started searching the room. The place was anything but clean, it seemed there were several problems. The one that Roy found was a jacker to clone cell phones with. Roy turned his off quickly and crushed the bug under his foot. There were others as well that Tank and Cecily would come across. One was a mic that has some type of remote transmission on. The other was hooked up to Wallace's pain med drip - there was some type of vial that looked like if it was tampered with it could be triggered to go straight into his veins.

Caesar Gonzalez

Location: Queensguard Industries RnD Industrial Complex - The Diamond District

Caesar took a sip from his coffee and set the cup back onto his desk. Something about this seemed off. Then again, recently obvious, related murders originally intended to look like suicides tended to do that to most situations. There might not be any connection between the deaths and the property owners, but with nothing else to go on, Caesar was willing to pull this string if only to see what unraveled. "That lady there, her company also owns the buildings we live in. And the one across the way. And the one next to it - The one Danica fell from. Another thing, her and her goons were talking about this place while they were moving boxes."

Something else seemed off, too: A level of micromanagement, painfully uncommon among people of the business standing this Stephanie Gretchen had. "M'hija, if I was Presidente of a big, shiny real estate company, why the ass would I personally oversee box moving near the docks? I need to see what's on those boxes and where they got to. Can you get into the storage company's security video storage?"

The other issue with the video was the problem of translation. As it turned out, he had met a native Russian speaker earlier that day. Just so happened that she lived in the same set of buildings as he and his girls. There were possible difficulties with going to her for the translation, however. First, Caesar didn't know how extensive the presence of Russian speakers were in the city of Justice; if there were relatively few, the chance would be higher information would slip to people he'd rather it didn't. Also, for the sake of breaking off conversation quickly, he adopted the mannerisms of a Mr. Super Creepy Rob Lowe. If he were to come a'knocking now, it could make for an awkward opening conversation. And all that is if she's even inclined to help out anyway.

"Hey M'hija, what do you know about that girl, Lana?"

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Classic Building, Apartment 3C, Riley & Cecily's Apartment

Riley smiled and shook Ronni's hand firmly and nodded and laughed slightly. "Yep that is me. And probably I've never held a gun before honestly." Riley said as she watched him look around the apartment probably seeing some of the pictures on the wall and her guitars. "And nah honestly I don't feel like i'm famous, I just do it because I like it and because I know my fans like it as well." Riley said as she listened to Ronni speak then he handed her his phone her eyes scanning the email that Danica had apparently sent to him sometime before she had been murdered. Riley thought for a moment if she should tell Cecily about all this information or not. But she decided against it, she knew that Cecily had a lot on her plate already and after the break in from the text Cecily had sent her anyone could have been shaken up by it.

"Well, should we try and pick up where Danica left off?" Riley asked, she knew that this could get risky if she was right Danica did get murdered by someone. "Or were you planning on going into Danica's apartment to try and find something out, if so we would have to wait because the cops are still searching the place."

Lucas Walsh

Location: The U.N.

As they got outside and over toward the first responders, Lucas let out something of a sigh of relief to finally be out of the building and, hopefully, away from danger. He didn't even notice anything that may have been wrong until he felt her grip on his hand wavering. Lucas turned his gaze toward her then, eyes widening as he saw the blood on her back, and saw as she began to sink to her knees. In an instant, Lucas was forced back into action, arms thrusting down to catch her as she picked her up again, eyes darting to the first responders.

They all had issues, but right then Lucas could not have cared any less about that, his highest priority was Risa, and he wasn't about to wait in line with her when she may have very well had one hell of a risk on her hand. His eyes settled on the woman barking at some others who she referred to as 'morons' - figuring she was as good as any, he hurried over. Risa was held as comfortably as he could hold her in his arms, and the look on his face was intent.

"My girlfriend and I just got out of the building, she's fainted and I think she's lost a lot of blood." He explained, gently laying Risa down on a stretcher as it was brought over, eyes drifting up to the doctor he'd approached. He watched her with a gaze that said many things, in a way it was expectant, waiting for her to do something, in another way it was pleading, begging her to do something for Risa - this scenario had only gotten worse, and just as he'd thought the two of them out of it, they'd been dragged back into the thick of it.

Ronni

Location: Apartment 3C

Ronni cocked a brow as Riley suggested that they should pick up where Danica had left off. He had planned to but he wasn't expecting some rock star to want to tag along. Heck in the city of Justice he doubted anyone but he would give a damn really that Danica was dead, much less how it happened. Looking down at his phone, the last email he had received from his friend he nodded a bit before sliding it back into his pocket.

"Damn straight I want to pick up where she left off. She doesn't deserve to go out like this and just be some forgotten face in the pile of bodies this city racks up every day," Ronni said quickly before looking over to Riley. "Yeah, cops are going to be circling her place for a few days I bet. I say we hit this Derby thing, see if we can dig up anything."

"But first things first," he said as he dug into his pocket and pulled out a switch blade. Clicking the side the blade popped out and he held it up. "See this, push here. Anyone comes at you, you start stabbing and don't stop until they stop moving. I ain't trusting you with my gun," he said before folding the blade back in and taking her hand. Placing the knife in her palm he walked over to the counter and picked up his pistol. Taking out the clip he shoved it back into place, sliding the safety into place before shoving it under his shirt at the back of his jeans, shuffling his flannel over the top of it before turning to look back over to Riley.

"Ready?"

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Queensguard Industries RnD Industrial Complex - The Diamond District

Alicia perked a brow at her father before nodding and pulling up a seat, her hands resting on the keyboard before she got to work. A place like that shouldn't be too difficult to break into but when she got to their main server she hit a wall. This wasn't typical or standard security, this was high tech. The stuff she worked on and coded for high end and military facilities. She listened to her father.

"Yeah, doesn't sit right that she is there, or that this place has this type of security Papi. Not for some general storage unit," she muttered under her breath before she started letting out a slew of curses in Spanish from time to time; each time she hit another security wall. Eventually she got into the camera feed and froze as she saw something she hadn't expected. At the locker where the Russian's had been, there was someone on camera. Two people actually. One she didn't know and couldn't get a clear shot of the persons features, she couldn't even make out if it was a man or woman. The other came out clear as crystal but there was no sound feed for this camera it seemed so she couldn't tell what they were talking about, if anything. The other person in the shot - Danica.

Looking over at her father she gave him a perplexed look before shrugging. "Not much but I think her and country guy that was at the smoker yesterday spoke from time to time. Maybe he can tell us something more than she speaks in a Russian accent.

Risa Couri

Location: The U.N. --> Ambulance Headed For Justice Memorial

Risa all but collapsed into Lucas's arms as he swept her up and into his arms. Adrenaline had been kicking in and she hadn't even noticed that anything was wrong with her back when the explosion had happened. She felt the cut on her head but it wasn't until they were out of the building that she had actually begun to feel the effects of what had happened. As he laid her down on the stretcher she screamed out in pain. That was not something that Risa did, ever. Sure she screamed. In anger, in frustration, in a rage, but never in pain. Lucas had been with her during her accident when she had received the scar on her back and even then she had barely flinched. Her eyes darted over to Lucas, worry flooding them as her fingers rolled over the edge of the stretched and gripped it tightly, her knuckles going white. She had broken out into a cold sweat and was shaking.

The woman looked over at Lucas, about to tell him to go the fuck away when her eyes fell on Risa. "Get an O2 mask on her, open it to 5 liters. She is going into shock," she said as she stepped over and moved the mounds of hair out of the way to reveal the gash in the silk shirt. Maybe she should have introduced herself but this doctor was not exactly known for her bedside manner. Helping Risa to roll onto her side she gripped the shirt and ripped the tear open further. Risa's back was soaked in blood as was the deep layers of her hair.

"Fucking hell," Amy muttered under her breath; not exactly words of confidence one wanted to hear from a doctor. There was a good sized gash in Risa's back and from the gash was a thick piece of glass resting just at the opening. Carefully Dr. Chang pulled the flesh open a bit more to get a better look and it was easy to tell that the it was just the tip of the iceberg as it were. Risa screamed out and nearly jumped when the doctors arm came down and pinned her to the stretcher. "Don't fucking move," she hissed.

"Set up the IV, 1/4 grain of morphine," Amy ordered quickly as she started grabbing gauze and the EMT's went to work. One shoving the IV needle right into Risa's elbow fold on her arm, the other strapping her down. "Get her in the ambulance, now!" Turning Amy looked over to Lucas. "List, she has a large shard of glass. Normally, I would just pull it out but from the amount of blood she has lost and the location, it is most likely in her spleen. I pull that son of a bitch out and she bleeds to death. Now, move your ass and get in the ambulance," Amy said as her fingers wrapped around the end of the stretcher and she started to push Risa over to the ambulance.

Once they got her inside Amy jumped in the back and did what she could to stabilize Risa as the Finnish woman felt her eye lids get heavy and she blacked out from the blood loss. Once Lucas was in the Emt's closed up the back and sped off towards Justice Memorial. Amy looked over to Lucas. "Do you know her damn blood type?"

Cecily Ashworth

Location: Justice Memorial; Room 2319

Cecily frowned a bit, hearing Tank's conclusion that a pistol was responsible for Wallace's injuries. His question about why they hadn't killed Wallace left her a bit uneasy, recalling her own encounter from that morning. The crazed blonde could have easily finished Cecily off--but for some reason, she chose not to. Biting her lip, Cecily pondered why an evidence obsessed criminal would let the coroner live.

"Maybe they didn't want to draw too much attention to themselves," Cecily suggested. Tank's theory about sending a message sounded a bit far fetched. That was something that happened in Dexter and Batman: The Animated Series. It wasn't something that happened in real life to coroners.

However, when her eyes fell back on Wallace, she saw him blink once. She nearly jumped out of her seat, trying to recall all of the Twenty Questions strategies she used on her brother growing up. Before she could ask another a question, though, Wallace passed out. Typical. She sighed a bit, once again frustrated with him. Though, come to think of it, Cecily couldn't recall a time where she wasn't vexed by Wallace.

"Get me a mini frappucino, vanilla bean, while you're at it!" Cecily called out to Gleason as he left. She pouted a bit, realizing that the cop hadn't heard her. Her grumbling stomach needed something to digest, something beyond the intricate complexities of a murder mystery. About to ask Tank about when his pizza would be arriving, Cecily eyed the notepad.

Her exasperation vanished, and instantly, Cecily went to work. Starting with Wallace, she found something strange hooked up to the pain med drip. Biting her lip, she realized that she couldn't touch the thing, without it killing him. The only way to remove it would be to remove his drip entirely. Hoping that Wallace was too far gone to notice the added pain, Cecily removed the drip entirely as methodically and carefully as she could. Letting out a sigh of relief once the pain med drip had been removed, Cecily eyed the vial closely.

Some sort of toxin, Cecily concluded. The vial was still attached to the tube and Cecily held it up, motioning for Gregory to take a look at it. She touched only the tube, avoiding any contact with the vial. It would be rather hard to get any fingerprints off of it, but it was still possible. They had some more extreme methods, ones that she could perform back at the crime lab in order to get a partial print. It involved toxic fumes, and once completed, left behind a purple print.

But suspecting that whoever did this meant business, Cecily doubted there'd be any prints left on it. Not all surfaces were decent for lifting prints from.

Felix Hausten

Location: The Block

Felix looked the cop up and down with a slightly cocky inquisitive look. He looked quietly confident and very proud of himself, having just accomplished his first successful bribe in the land of opportunity. It was laughable how easy it was to already bribe the cops, without anyone even asking for Id or his background. He found it exciting, rivetting, delightful and above all. Intriguing. Felix always felt intrigue overtake him and in this moment, he found himself consumed and ready to follow every leads he would get so he could portray every little scene with precise accuracy. It would make for a brilliant book, the novel would be awe aspiring.

Then it began drawing itself in his mind. The whole story writing itself word by word as he focussed hard on it. How interesting...how outstanding. The sisters...some sort of conspiracy that both sisters would commit suicide and somehow be put in the axact same flat? Perhaps...the second was trying to investigate the murder or supposed suicide directly. But now...the weapon was missing. Broken in and taken. How very very...exciting.

He let out a slight sigh and patted his legs with a warm grateful look. "What a revelation...don't fear, I'll keep this on the down low, try not to meedle in with too much, all this just sounds very very suspicious.."

"No me fucking gusta, M'hija. I have half a thought to checking us all into a hotel, cash. If not, we need to hit a ferreterΓa and put something more than deadbolts in our apartments. We should scan for bugs, too."

So Danica had a unit at the same place, or at least was in very good with someone who did. That was, in and of itself, very interesting. She was the second one living in that series of buildings to die abruptly; the second of three. While Caesar had no idea if the police were remotely close to figuring this out, he didn't put a lot of stock in them getting anywhere before the next body hit the morgue. The older man wanted to ensure that his girls weren't among that number. Alicia knew the risks of this lifestyle. Had since she was little. Lorna was a military lady; she knew fully what she was getting into. All the same, part of himself would be broken forever if anything happened to either of them. Especially if there was anything he could have done about it.

The only question for Caesar was: Does he turn over what he has to the police, or does he press on with his own resources? Maybe there was a way to do both.

"Interesante... Por favor, go to earlier today. I want to see where this lady moved her boxes - and what's printed on them.

Caesar was quiet for a time while Alicia worked. He had been wondering how to break a piece of news to her since early that morning, unsure as to how it would be received. It involved a matter that was both company and personal in nature. Naturally, this put it in a sort of grey area. Being as tactful speech was not the forte of the venerable human Cuisinart, Caesar decided to speak plainly.

"Local staff aside, M'hija, there are three of us out here in Justice. Lot of shit can go wrong, fast. I don't really know anything about these California hires, least not yet, and with all this dying happening I worry. Probably more than I need to." Caesar exhaled a deep breath, and spat out the core of his speech. "I called for someone to help out. He's not an investigator, and he's not a tech guy. He's an MSS Security Agent with Special Projects. And I know we can trust him. We're going to start working in pairs, switching out when needed. People are dying, Alicia. We need to start playing this smart."

Lorna Dunn

Location: Queensguard Industries RnD Industrial Complex - The Diamond District - Security Office

Her phone buzzed in her pocket not a minute after she'd sent her text. Lorna slipped it out and let the smirk play on her lips as she read the message. She wasn't the most clued up on relationships and courting shit but she could at least handle a beer and some food. The rest of the stuff wasn't high in her priorities beyond some "rough and tumble" between the sheets at random points. It was things like that that made her wonder if she was actually female or just a man in a woman's body at times. She felt herself shrugging to herself as she fired out a message in response.

To Rodeo Town:

6 is fine. Will let you know if work runs on. Talk later.

Such romantic and enticing words from our Cookie Monster Marine. She shifted her phone back in her pocket and got back to work noting camera numbers and the blindspots that they had. She only looked up again when Alicia came back into the room. Lorna raised a brow but kept silent when the news of Papi arriving was uttered. Weird that old man Mexico wanted to look in on the back of Alicia here but he most likely had his reasons. He didn't do anything without reason.

When El Jefe arrived Lorna and Alicia had to step out to the server room for some checks. Lorna stayed behind to keep things running while Alicia returned to the office to speak with her father. After her work was done, Lorna made her way to the office and gave it a quick rap on the door before letting herself inside. "Server room is golden, made sure they got that shit tidied up. Oh..."

She noticed the looks on Alicia and Caesar's faces. "Uh... I'll come back later..." She rose an eyebrow and backed out of the room quickly letting the father-daughter combo do whatever it was that they were in the middle of doing. She loved them both but was she hell getting caught in the middle of one of their "discussions" again. She'd learned from last time to back the fuck off and let them mash it out. She stood outside the door, waiting and half-listening into the conversation through the door because she was a nosy bitch.

Riley Ridgeway

Location: Classic Building, Apartment 3C, Riley & Cecily's Apartment

Riley watched as Ronni dug into his pocket and pulled out a switchblade from his pocket, hearing the blade coming out as he pressed it and then closing it, then taking her hand and putting it in there. Riley bit her lower lip for a moment she had never used a knife on anyone before, but she hoped it wouldn't come down to it. "I wouldn't trust me with a gun either." Riley said with a slight laugh as she set the knife into her pocket. She knew that she could be getting in way over her head in this, but she was more then willing to try and help out and solve what happened to Danica. As Riley grabbed her purse again and grabbed her car keys, she looked towards Ronni and gave him a quick nod as Riley walked towards the door. "I'm ready." Riley said as she left her apartment and closed it from behind and locked it, she didn't trust anyone that much in this town.

As Riley walked out and made her way towards her car Riley unlocked it looking towards Ronni as she took out her phone and handed it towards Ronni. "I'm trusting you with my phone number, put it in and also if you can send that email to me in case anything happens." Riley said. "Also don't give it out to anyone I don't want fans spamming my phone. Unless its someone you really do trust." Riley said as she got into her car, and closed the door she strapped herself in and started up her car as she pulled out and started driving towards Roller Derby rink.

Aside from the cops everywhere, the complex was more or less abandoned right now. A police officer or two would ask her who she is or what she's doing here, to which they received the curt answer of, "I live here. Fuck off." Normally, it would make sense to trying breaking into one of these apartments if you were looking for potential quick cash. Especially if you'd been casing the place for awhile. However, today of all days would be the worst day to try some shit like this. Even with the laziness and incompetence of the Justice Law Enforcement division, trying to break into not just one, but four different apartments given that there was enough Heat to bake a turkey.

Well whatever, what was important now was to get tell the Landlord about this shit. Mali pulled out her phone and took pictures of the damage/crime scene as best as she could before dialing his number. And as luck would have it, she got the voicemail. Whatever, he would get the information either way.

"Hey, this is Mali from Apartment 2B. My apartment's been broken into from the rear window. I'm pretty sure nothing was stolen, but whoever did it went through all my belongings. There's also signs of attempted break-ins on the ground and top floors of the Rose Building and on the third floor of the Classic Building. But it only looks like mine was actually entered forcefully. I've taken pictures and will send them to you after I hang up." A few button presses later and the best pics of the crime scene were sent. Now all that was left to do was go back to the apartment and continue unpacking.

Sigh.

Lucas Walsh

Location: The U.N. -> Ambulance Headed For Justice Memorial

Hearing Risa scream out in pain as she was laid out on the stretcher struck Lucas to his core. He felt an intense pain in his chest just hearing her in such pain, a deep regret threatened to wash over him, had he somehow made it worse carrying her down the building? Should they just not have come into the UN that day? He forced such thoughts out of her mind, focusing on her and refusing to step away, though making sure the paramedics could do what they could for her. He shuddered as he saw the wound in her back, the blood soaking her as he stood there, struggling not to let tears run free as he watched.

The words from the doctor as she examined Risa did not help, but Lucas forced himself to drown them out, to ignore what she was saying and focus on Risa, he didn't want to consider any of the worse possibilities, however likely they may have been. He wanted to be thinking of Risa's recovery, safe, alive. As she screamed again, Lucas shivered, it truly hurt to hear her in such pain, to see her in shock and to feel like just somehow it was his fault, even though there was no possible way it could have been. A new anger for those responsible threatened to surge within him, but he suppressed it, he did not want to focus on anything but her.

He kept his gaze on Risa as they began to move her toward the ambulance, only looking away as Amy took his attention and he focused on her, listening to her. He was in shock himself, and he couldn't even think to summon a reply. Simply nodding, he hurried along to the ambulance with them and climbed into the back beside Risa, watching as they closed the door before turning his gaze back to Risa. He nodded his head to Amy's question, reaching out to gently take Risa's hand. "She's B positive, i'm an O negative so, I can donate if you need it." He assured Amy without looking over at her, as he watched Risa, he let his hand shift down into his pocket.

Pulling out the small box he'd been carrying with him, he sighed as he opened the lid, looking down at the ring inside. Still holding her hand, he pulled the ring out and carefully slid it onto her finger. He'd waited long enough, carried the ring with him for far too long and he didn't want it to be too late. If she made it through all of this he wanted the ring to be the first thing she saw, and in the horrible event that she didn't... He at least needed her to have it. Letting out a shaky sigh, he ran his thumb over the diamond of the ring, eyes shifting back up to Risa's face.

@Dragoknighte - After Mali sends the voicemail and the images, it takes a little bit for the landlord to get back to her. He doesn't bother calling, he just sends a text - "Who the fuck do you think I am? The cops? You have two people in your buildings that actually work for the city. Why don't you give them a ring. You know people that do shit in the city other than fix exploding doors and pulling enchilada sauce out of rugs? Talk to Joseph Cooper and Cecily Ashworth." - Well apparently he ain't going to be any help but he did give Mali two names of people in Boston Heights that might be able to help. Granted, there always is that business card Mali got yesterday for helping that kid... What was the name on the card again? Relic?

@Scallop - The cop nods a bit and finally a cruiser pulls up. He bids Felix goodbye and hops into the car with his partner, who is very late picking him up. The cop is yelling a bit at his partner, he didn't want to have to wait at all but then something interesting gets yelled out - "Well I had to deal with the fucking shrink, who was late. Not my fucking fault!" - His partner was in therapy or was it something else? The look on the partners face is agitated at best, the look on the cop that was just bribed goes white. Something is amiss in Justice, but then again, isn't it always.

Ronni

Location: Apartment 3C -> Rollar Derby Rink

Ronni nodded and smiled towards Riley as they headed out, looking around the hallway of the apartment building a bit while she locked up, his hand along the back of his jeans, ready to pull out his pistol if he needed to. Things were getting hairy to say the least and the last thing he wanted was for anyone to get the drop on them. Stepping outside with her he wandered over to the passenger side of her car and hopped in.

Taking her phone he grinned a bit. "Aww, and here I wanted to tell all my friends I got a date with a hot shot music star," he laughed as he entered in his number into her phone and grabbed her; entering it into his own. "Listen, we get separated, you call me," he said in a serious tone before handing her back her phone.

Leaning back in his seat he looked around, rolling down the window some before lighting up a cigarette and taking a long drag from it. Oh well at least it wasn't a joint. Granted he wanted one, really damn bad, but he wanted his head clear as well. He had been to the Rollar Derby before, it wasn't exactly a good date spot. It was a run down old warehouse that had been turned into a rink down by the docks. The people there were tough and usually looking for a fight, the only reason too many didn't break out is because they took it out on each other in the actual game, but that didn't mean there was never a fight. There were fights and more than one person had died there. He had to go though, he felt it owed it to Danica.

Looking over at Riley he sighed a bit. "Hope you don't mind, trying to calm my nerves," he said as he held up the cigarette. Looking away he stared out the window. "This city is shit you know, no one should live here. People dying left and right," he said as he pointed towards an old brownstone as they passed and paramedics were carrying out two body bags.

Once they pulled up to the Derby he looked around for a minute before glancing over to Riley. "Remember, stay close. If anyone asks, you are here with me. Don't let anyone think you are alone here."

Alicia Gonzalez

Location: Queensguard Industries RnD Industrial Complex - The Diamond District

Alicia did what she could to figure out what was on the boxes and where they were being taken but the footage only went do far and there was a lot of dead areas in the footage. The boxes were loaded up into an unmarked van and it was quickly lost in the traffic of Justice, heading out to the high way but the ramp it was one when it was lost came out and split into four different directions, there was no telling just where it went.

The woman however climbed into her BMW and headed off, Alicia was able to grab the plates and run them. Was for the woman herself, she wasn't hiding who she was it seemed. And in the end she ended up back at her office in the Diamond District. On the boxes Alicia was able to grab a few things, but nothing that was leading anywhere as of yet. Queensgaurd was all over the boxes, but that was a known thing. There were a lot of numbers but they didn't seem to make sense. They were not manifestation numbers that one would use. They looked like... Case Numbers. Most were too faded to actually read through the monitor but she was able to pull - SGJFE-1432 and 4827-IB-861.

Looking over at her father she groaned. "Papi, you worry too much. Anyways, tonight I have a game," she said as she rolled her eyes. Leave it to her dad to worry about her and cookie, she couldn't fault the man but to bring in someone else? She just hoped it was someone she could tolerate working with. There was a reason it was her and Lorna out here.

Risa Couri

Location:Ambulance Headed For Justice Memorial -> Justice Memorial

"Alright, keep that arm ready in case we need it," Amy said as she nodded towards the EMT in the back with them. He radioed ahead to the hospital to tell them to prep the OR for an incoming patient and to get B+ blood ready and waiting on them. Thankfully B+ wasn't a rare blood type. It was rarer than some but hopefully with the explosion not many had needed it ahead of Risa. Amy perked a brow towards Lucas as she looked over and saw him pull out a small box. Normally she would have pulled off some smart ass comment about how this wasn't the time or place for him to be proposing, or that he might want to wait until she can actually tell him to bugger off but the look in his eyes made her keep her mouth shut. Amy was a bit of a bitch but she wasn't a heartless cunt.

Risa just lay there, her hand limp against Lucas's as her head rolled slightly from side to side as the ambulance kept moving through the streets of Justice. The ride felt like it was taking forever but when someone's life is on the line each second that ticks by can feel like an hour. It was all relative. Amy kept working on Risa, the translators pulse kept falling lower and lower as her blood pressure dropped. There was not much that could be done in the back of the ambulance, just trying to keep her stable was taking ever means they had.

The vehicle pulled up to the back of the Er and the door swung open as the Er staff gathered around. Amy jumping out of the back, her hands covered in Risa's blood. "Up to Or, I need five units of B+ blood set and ready to go when we get there. Is the anesthesiologist ready?" Amy barked as they pulled Risa out the back and started wheeling her into the hospital.

"Yes Doc, he is up there and the rest of the team is scrubbed and waiting on you," the nurse said as she took the IV bag from the paramedic, rushing along side Amy as Risa was rolled down the hallway. As they reached the doors that lead to the OR suites Amy turned and pressed a bloodied hand firmly against Lucas's chest.

"You can't go back, stay here," she said as they kept moving Risa passed the doors.

Amy was about to say something else when she heard the nurse yell out to her. "Doctor! We lost the pulse," the woman bellowed and Amy dashed through the doors. The crew had stopped and Amy jumped up onto the gurney, straddling Risa as she started compression's on Risa's chest. The last thing that could be heard as they started wheeling Risa into the OR and the doors to the suite unit closed was..

"Clear!"

Mali sneered at the phone, as if that would somehow transmit from through the screen to the landlord. Fucking hell, she just thought he should know when somebody breaks into his apartment complex. Next time she wouldn't tell him about this kind of shit. Still he did give two names of people that could possibly help. If she remembered correctly, Cecily was the forensic lady who acted first once Danica's body crashed the party, and Cooper was a cop and an asshole with a motorcycle. Maybe the partner of the old detective considering how other officers reacted to him. She ruled out Cecily because a few B&Es was not something she was equipped to deal with. Joseph on the other hand was probably a much better choice to go to, but he was also an asshole with a motorcycle. Then again, at least he didn't appear to be a gun-crazed psychopath like The Cortez Family.

So that brought her mental list of people to consult to a grand total of 4 people (in order of preference from Greatest to least: Joseph, Alicia, Lorna, Caesar). Whatever the case, she wouldn't be able to talk to any of them until after they got off work. She resolved to keep an eye out for one of them. Yawning, she made her way back up to her apartment to continue unpacking. If something did end up being taken, she would figure out eventually, and sitting around stressing about this wouldn't change the fact that she was still living in a maze of boxes rather than an apartment. Once she got back in, she opened up the blinds, letting in all kinds of light and heat from the outside, but also offered a nice view of the streets.

Oddly enough, she forgot that she left her laptop on, and it was still playing music. At this rate it would lose the rest of its charge in like half an hour. When she bent over to pick up the charger cord from the ground, the Relic business card dropped out of her pocket. Like fate was trying to get her to call the damn number already. She had decided not to call it previously, but it had been popping up constantly all day. If one more fucked up thing ended up happening today she would call, but for now, she shove the thing right back in her pocket. Out of sight, out of mind, right?
