You are correct. Up until the point of his head trauma he was training to be a paramedic and still remembers how. Since his head trauma he's been in a mental institution and has recently been transferred when the outbreak started. So just long enough to not be on Too Many Meds

Biography: Astrid was born in Durham england to a one parent household where she lived with her mom and older sister. Life was rough and there were ups and downs just like any family. Her mother worked frequently,so she was mostly raised by her sister. while her mother WAS in the picture, she could not be a mother all the time. Astrid never faulted her for that. Even though her sister had been been the one to raise her, she realised growing up at an early age was necessary. During her adolescent years,she mostly kept to herself reading and studying, which led to discovering a love for space and the space shuttles that explore them.

She had always had a fondness for space crafts, How they work, what resources they use to fly, the distances they have to travel. She was determined to have her dream. She developed a knack for things like taking apart household items to see how they worked, of couse it goes without saying she has broken more than her fair share of electronics trying to put them back together. Most of her teenage years were spent studying physics, repair on electrical appliances like generators and other things. When the end of her highschool years came, the only thing she had on her mind was to try out for one of the space programs, but fate had something else in store for her. One of her highschool teachers coerced her into going to college to get a degree in engineering and then try out for the various programs. With all of her skills and knowledge, it still was not enough to divert the fact that there was no way she could afford college. Her family could afford basic necessities, but the cost of college may as well have been out of the question. She would not let her dream end there, so spending the next four months getting the money through various scholarships with the help of her mother and sister were of little consequence to her.

College Graduation, she would have never guessed she would be here, even with all the work she had put in. At times she wanted to quit, the endless hours of studying, the relentess math classes, science classes, and other classes. It would have been enough to drive the most mentally stable person insane. Regardless, she made it and even managed to gain entrance into a program. The people she met and learned with, experienced with, had been there the entire way. To celebrate, they had planned a trip down to Belgium for a few days as a graduation present. It was going to be the trip of a lifetime, at least that was how one of her friends had put it. At least that was what it was supposed to be, yet those few days had turned from good to bad to horrible. It started with the quarantine and escalated from there. Half the things the news was reporting, she could not even begin to comprehend, half the footage from the prompters were unbelieveable.

Cannibals roaming the streets, eating anything or anyone unlucky enough to get into their path. People who were seemingly dead rising only to attack the living. Those few days turned into weeks as Astrid and her what had been left of her group tried to survive. Weeks turned into months as her small group had become even smaller, until she was the only one left. She wandered aimlessly for weeks until she had been picked up by a group of survivors who had let her stick around. (I know this is going to suck, so please let me know if I should change anything)

Personality:
Leeroy is, at his core, a survivor. He's willing to do anything to survive. While his morality is a huge moral grey zone, he still has shreds of human decency and will help others, so long as it doesn't put him in too much danger. Adaptivity is another one of Leeroy's strong suits; his thinking is always fast. Even if it's not the most optimal solution, Leeroy can quickly solve problems. He has a rather big soft spot for dark humor. It helps him cope with the sense of dread that goes along with an apocalypse.

Biography:
Born in Spokane, Leeroy was like any other Spokanite; he wanted to leave that city. But, Leeroy never had the opportunity to leave when he was young. He was never blessed with money. His father barely made ends meet. His mother was absent; his parents had been divorced since he was only a baby. Despite this, Leeroy made his time in Spokane as entertaining as he could. He was resourceful enough to find what little the city had to offer him.

As he graduated high school, his options were limited. Money for college simply wasn't there. As such, he went into trades. His career constantly shifted. From welder to painter to carpenter, Leeroy did it all. He slowly saved his money to move away from Spokane, a dream he had since he was a teenager. But, years later, his career turned upside down. A drunk driver had managed to push Leeroy off the road and directly into a tree. According to the doctors, it was a miracle that he survived. For the money he saved, it was a less than a miracle. The crash decimated his savings. His dream of moving away from Spokane was dead. However, rather than giving up, Leeroy considered it a fresh start. He would simply have to try harder.

During his two years of odd jobs and penny pinching, he met a Flemish girl online. They hit it off and after two years of conversations, they made the decision to meet each other. He got on a plane and flew to Brussels where the two would meet. After arriving, shit began to go down. Those things began to rise. They hid away in the girl's home and prayed that it would just blow over.

It didn't.

It was to Leeroy's surprise when the girl vanished. She left a note apologizing, but that was it. She just left during the night. Leeroy was on his own. As Brussels fell, Leeroy adapted. He was always resourceful. He began to collect things. Anything that would be useful. He managed to acquire his gear from a hardware store. He dismantled anything that was useless in this new world - damaged cars, televisions, computers - and made tools out of them. Anything he needed to survive. He read some books on the outdoors. Things to eat and whatnot. The things themselves were dreadful. Leeroy, thankfully, only had a few choice encounters with them. He always avoided swarms. He was going to survive through this. He wasn't going to die.

Other:
He has two hideouts. One containing nothing but dismantled garbage, the other containing somewhat useful materials and tools that are too risky to carry with him. Both are only accessible by the fire escape.

He has lived in Bellone for the last 4 years and in those four years traveled to America and Asia, before returning to work. Bellone is as much a part of Koen as his family is.

Post-apocalypse Bio
Koen ran out of stocked food and water about a month in, with that he ventured ashore cautiously to find food, water, and hopefully a weapon. After 2 months Koen found that it was too dangerous to keep the Bellone moored so he sailed her out into the harbor and anchored her, taking her rowboat to shore and hiding it under a tarp. A month ago Koen had cleared the port and port authority buildings, in the PA buildings he had found an armory but found it mostly raided. Having cleared out the surrounding area, and seeing very little life in Antwerp, Koen drove to Brussels to hopefully find civilization, and supplies.
Other: The Bellone has supplies locked onboard. (Medical supplies, fuel, sailing supplies, think a ship ready for a month of sailing, also a large stash of whiskey)
