Also, three movies? I'll have you all know that as far as I'm concerned, there are four movies.

In comic news that nobody wanted, Batman #50 is a big stinking pile of bullshit and I now feel similarly to @Bounce's hatred of Grant Morrison with Tom King.

Fuck that dude.

I was going to include that, but 1) good luck finding a way to watch it, and 2) it is clearly the superior Marvel movie, and thus immune to my mocking.

Hey, at least Selina's still on the same goddamn planet as Bruce. Lois and Jon are off having space-adventures with not-dead-anymore Jor-El so Bendis doesn't have to write family scenes.

@Master Bruce What happend? Are you okay?

I personally am on edge about Flash #50 with what happened in #49. It could go one way or the other for me.

I haven't read any of his Superman run yet, but that doesn't sound like something Bendis would do. Guy was the king of getting any superhero business concluded in a couple of pages so he could focus on workplace/family drama.

I'm okay, but they seem to be intent on having the Flashes keep breaking things and making really bad decisions.

I've found it before on Youtube. Don't know if it's been removed, but it's shown up periodically.

She might aswell not be, given the amount of backtracking King managed to pull out of his ass in the span of one issue. She's not even the same character she's been for the last thirty-plus issues anymore, and it's for the dumbest "He has to be in pain all of the time to be Batman"-type of edgelordy bullshit reason imaginable.

@Master Bruce What happend? Are you okay?

Eh, I'll live. Just venting my nerd rage at a great storyline that was essentially rendered a giant marketing con for like an entire year.

Brian Michael Bendis disregard preexisting continuity because it doesn't correspond with the story he wants to tell? Never!

Well, whatever the reason for it, they're out of the picture for the foreseeable future (at least until continuity catches up with Doomsday Clock). As is Supergirl, who apparently is going off into space to learn "the truth about Krypton" in regards to the dumb new villain they made up. So that leaves Supes all on his lonesome, except for Jimmy I guess, and the new strong-independent-woman-who-don't-need-no-man fire chief that Bendis keeps devoting pages to.

To what extent do you think this is King's decision? Sometimes I suspect that edicts from above are sometimes responsible for very unpopular twists in stories that threaten to change the status quo of big marque characters – and writers are made to wear those changes as if responsible themselves.

I just find it hard to believe that King – who has been fantastic on a lot of other titles – would suddenly become so tin-eared. But I guess weirder things have happened.

None of you are making me want to finally read through the past seven years of DC comics. Thanks for reaffirming my decision not to.

"Sometimes" seems like a liberal understatement.
