@The ElvenqueenOh gods. Yes, about the editing thing...I'd also prefer if the guild added the deletion option back in, but I can see why they might choose not to.

One of the things that upset me the most is the GM of a forum RP site a few months back removed the option of editing less than an hour after I mentioned how happy I was that they had it. We've butt heads a few times on some subjects, but nothing felt more spiteful to me than when they did that, as by then they knew how much of a OCD perfectionist type I was.

• Ostracised for being underdeveloped physically. Has absolutely no friends except for campus crush.
• Took double credits for Digital Marketing. Graduated honourably.
• Hates her dad for not doing more to save mom.

• Decided to work as karaoke singer to please dad.
• Is "beautiful".

I told them I felt that their character is "a bit of a Sue" and listed reasons on where I felt so. (Symbolic given name. Good at everything they do. Explicitly described as beautiful. Dramatic backstory. Ostracised by everyone for a trivial reason.)

I cringed at how polite I tried to be. With "I'm very sorry for coming off as boorish", "I apologise if it hurt your feelings", "I understand if you're embarrassed by my remark", etc. I asked if they were bullied in adolescent years for being thin and expressed condolences if yes.

I also said that my request is partially to lighten up the mood because I mentioned in my search that I'm looking for something fun.

Their response:

"I can't write positive characters because I don't have the environment to work with. Yes, I was made fun of for being anorexic. But such is life. As I am a stubborn woman, I will not change my character. I see you think I'm not worthy of your exceptional idea. Sorry to waste your time when we could have just started. Cheers!"

No lady, you were fine until you became a passive aggressive dumbass who takes it personally because your Mary effing Sue is an idealised self-insert. God, don't roleplay. Just write a journal of fantasies in your head, or play a visual novel.

So their character had time to win numerous tournaments, work to afford medical bills, hates their father for apparently doing nothing...

There is way too much that can be believable. A character like that would be an emotional and social mess as they wouldn't have time nor encouragement to do well. However if you want to lighten the mood of the RP you can request that and it's your right to.

As for her stubborn attitude, if that's what she feels than she shouldn't be one that you need to concern yourself with. She's placed her own persona into a character, isn't fluid to change and in the long run she'll be someone that will drive an RP downwards because she wants it to go a certain direction even if it's not right.

One last point I'll mention is that if you go for a generic trope, like mother's death, then you have to spend more effort in building up that character. So many people can't do this and their characters end up being unbelievable cardboard cutouts.

Yes, parent death *can* be a prominent event. But it's not going to suddenly give you a 180° change from that alone! I tried to be nice to her and said I don't find her unworthy (I like to overcome my instant annoyance and be civil for the sake of future references). I had appreciated that we discussed before booting up something only to have it fail later on.

She's been ignoring me and browsing interest checks since.

Sigh.

This is the third Sue this month. The other two I encountered were:

● A lycan that has wings and can control fire and shadow. Has a human form. Is a samurai and ninja.

● Dad is Satan. Mother is an angel. Is very nice and has healing powers, but if you piss her off "you will regret it".

It was a chatroom where users had profiles and stuff. The room was specifically named "Roleplay". It has three different roleplay rooms. //cringe

I was trying to find a place to indulge in my guilty pleasure of writing 2~5 sentences of competent English instead of long posts expected every time.

I started as a two-liner when I was 14, but I made sure I had these down: spelling, grammar, and a flaw/talent balance for my OC.

Been searching for a whole month, and not a person that does those who is willing to work with me a "casual and light little roleplay". I even told them I'd be happy to be killed off!

"Do not PM me if you write less than 2 paragraphs." But what if they're in a critical moment conversation?! D:
