The blankets rustled as the single occupant rolled over with a soft moan, blinking against the harsh sunlight filtering in through the thin curtains of her bedroom window as the singing sound of a notification went off on her phone. Hathor slowly buried her arms underneath the mountain of pillows on her bed, searching around until her fingers wrapped around the object of her desire. Her dark eyes landed on the screen, lazily tapping the keypad to unlock it and clicked her mailbox to see who decided to email at this ungodly hour. Alright, it was technically 10AM which wasn’t ungodly by most means but who thought it was a good idea to do anything before noon on a Saturday? She opened the message, an eyebrow raising at the charity event invite before a small frown etched on her features.

What was Jupiter playing at? It was very clear that the Romans kept to themselves, only letting a select few close. Why the sudden change of character? It felt like there was a puzzle piece missing in this mystery but who was she to turn down a nice evening? It had been forever since she had been to a true party, at least one of elegance and not dancing in a club. Hathor sat up with a groan, knowing that there was no way she would be getting back to sleep now and deciding she might as well start her day. Sighing, she pushed herself out of bed and grabbed a pair of wireless headphones before heading over to the kitchen to whip up some breakfast. She popped the buds into her ears, starting up the music app, letting a flood of melodic sound fill her ears as she swept through the kitchen gathering supplies.

A few minutes later, Hathor stood, staring intensely at the plate before her as she radiated unhappiness. She didn’t even know it was possible to make something burnt and soggy at the same time but that is exactly how the french toast or the travesty she was trying to pass off as french toast was. Mortals made this look so easy but the only art in cooking she was able to manage were things that didn’t require a stove. An annoyed growl slipped past her lips as she jammed the failed attempts into the trash and sighed, hopping up onto the counter and raking her fingers through her hair. ’Well, that ended up being a waste of time.’, she thought to herself as her music switched to a different song. It relaxed her, washing over her frazzled nerves like a blanket of warmth as it pulled pleasant memories from her past due to the era of the song and it spoke clearly to how she felt at times.

Hathor debated on just going out to breakfast or grabbing a quick drink while skipping the meal altogether since it was getting a bit later in the day but neither option sounded pleasant if it was just on her own. It was no fun alone after all. There was still plenty of time before she would be meeting for drinks and a fun time with her pantheon, their own way of connecting and putting the mess from the conclave behind them. Her heart clenched at that sudden thought, the memories of that day still haunting her and making her feel more connected than she would normally feel for someone she didn’t know. Of course she knew that Hephaestus was a good god, caring and supportive. The reactions of his pantheon spoke volumes to who he was. Hathor hadn’t lied to Hera when she said they would find the killer. She wanted justice for him and for his patheon. He deserved that peace. She wanted to help in any way possible but right now, she didn’t know how. The song ended, pulling her from her thoughts and made her pull out the headphones, dropping them onto the counter as she opened up the contacts in her phone.

Who would be free to meet up with her or be willing to take her up on this offer? She scrolled down the list, ignoring those in her pantheon list since they would be meeting up soon and trying to avoid mortals since they wouldn’t understand if her behavior swayed. It was when she hit the ‘H’s that she paused momentarily, biting her lip as she stared at a particular name. It had been awhile since they had met up or hung out. Her fingers hovered over the name, a flood of nervous energy fluttering in her gut at the thought of asking him which was just silly after how long they had known each other. ’Pull it together Hathor, you are acting ridiculous!’, she thought to herself before clicking the contract to pull up a new text message.

Hey, would you like to grab some tea or coffee with me? It’s been awhile since we hung out just the two of us and I thought it might be nice to catch up. Drinks are on me if you decide you want to! Just let me know.

She quickly pressed send before she had a moment to change her mind and took a deep breath. No taking it back now, so it was out of her hands. It wasn’t like it was a date. It was just two friends getting a drink. If he said ‘no’ then she wouldn’t be any worse off than she was right at that moment (though the clenching of pain in her heart said otherwise). She still prayed he would agree. She knew he had eyes for someone else. She knew that if she wanted to be close to him than just being a supportive and good friend was the way it had to be. It didn’t stop her from feeling and acting like a fool.’Why am I always so hopeless when it comes to my own feelings of love?’, Hathor asked herself, knowing that she had no answer.

Tick Tick Tick. The single large grandfather clock continued its constant rhythm signaling the passing of every second. Hades let his pen rest atop the black wood desk as his hands were brought down along his face letting out a small groan of annoyance. Looking towards the clock Hades realized it was only about 10:30. “Damit Chronos.” he sweared to himself at how slow time seemed to pass by. Four hours had felt like a full day's worth of work but with nothing to show for it. Moving his vision down and to the side he could see Cerberus sitting by his desk with a questioning look towards his master. “It's nothing boy. Just a lot happening at the moment.”

The conclave had been a real shit show, as was expected. He truly did hate the fact that his family could never be anywhere without causing a scene of some kind. Leaning back in his chair trying his best to forget the work that laid on his desk as the events of the conclave returned to him. If Hera’s little stunt wasn't bad enough for the meeting as a whole then Aphrodite certainly didn't help, regardless of the intentions. As the thought of the damned pink mist returned Hades body stiffened once again just like at the meeting. He could remember his vision clearly even with his best efforts to forget it. He had fought so hard to not let the mist invade his mind but by the time he had realized it, it was already too late.

He could still see himself suddenly being pulled into a large dark room with minimal light. He had immediately recognised the room not just from its looks but also from the throne that he was suddenly sitting upon. It was a dark stone and metallic frame with a beautiful black velvet cushion. His Ebony throne that he had sat atop for endless time ruling over the underworld with an iron fist. Realising what this meant Hades turned to his side where the other chair was meant to be positioned. But sadly fate deemed it necessary for that part of the vision to be shipped as once Hades' eyes gained sight of the chair the whole vision shattered like glass as he fell from his throne once again.

That single vision had cost him most of what little sleep he usually got. “Why couldn't she have just left us to be and not intervene. Not like she ever cared for the poor bastard.” he said at no one, except maybe the dog by his side. Letting out another sigh Hades leaned forwards once again looking back to the clock to see how much time he had managed to waste. Seeing as the hand had not moved at all, at least he thought, Hades turned back towards his work before seeing he had two messages on his phone. One of these messages he was much happier to see than the other. The one was from none other than the head of the Roman house himself, Jupiter. Quickly reading through the message Hades was unsure of what to think. Something felt off about the whole thing. You don't just stay unseen for centuries and then suddenly throw a ball. Once he finished his eyes fell onto the signature at the bottom “King of the gods.” Hades stared at that line for a second more, never showing anything in his stoic face before he let out a small chuckle. “Is that so.”

The next message however was a far more pleasant one compared to “invitation” given out by Jupiter. Hathor had been one of the few gods/goddesses that Hades was close to outside his one family. And it had been a shame they had not talked or been able to really meet in past years. “That does sound nice. And I'm about ready to go to the underworld myself if I stay here any longer.” he said standing from his desk as he sent back “Sure. I'll meet you there.”

It was those simple texted words that brightened her day significantly and had Hathor sitting at her regular table near the large tinted bay window of Little Marjoram far sooner than she had originally planned for that day. She had done her best to cut off any questions from Imentet short, not really wanting to explain herself just yet and taking her place on the plush ottoman style chair while she waited for Hades to arrive. This place always gave her a feel of home, making her feel safe and as if nothing could possibly go wrong. The desert theme soothed her, reminding her of the rolling hills of soft sand at dawn with all the tones of orange and yellow as well as the soft lit atmosphere one could call romantic or mood lighting but in this case was to add to the theme. The shop really did feel Egyptian oasis, a miracle in what could be a harsh and unforgiving land. It did have a hint of other vibes such as a moroccan flair, especially the areas with pillowed seating which had even lower tables than the one she now sat at but that didn’t take away from the effect, only enhancing it.

It was easy to tell that memories, love, and detail had been placed with great care into this shop, from the multitude of dazzling and intricate rugs, to the swooping sections of delicate fabrics hung from the ceiling giving an elegance and almost a private feel even if it was not. The emotion could even be found in the tables themselves as they were made of a thick glass with real sand in between the panels which included fake rocks and plants to replicate the desert itself as you enjoyed your cup of tea. In her eyes, Imentet had made something truly wonderful that not only the different pantheons could experience and enjoy but humans as well or at least in the daylight section which was to represent the living. Hathor knew that the family would be headed to the depth of the night later, a representation of the dead but there was nothing to fear in either of those. Both were beautiful cycles and to be commended, celebrated, and honored for the journey they had taken in life which deserved much needed rest by the end. She could only hope that Hephaestus would have that in what lay beyond this world.

Her gaze pulled away from the window she had been peering through but with unseeing eyes, not wanting to start eagerly looking at every dark haired man that walked by, hoping it was the one she wished to see. It had been years since they had last seen each other and while she had hoped her feelings would fade, become a distant memory with limited time in his company, the conclave proved that that hadn’t changed. Aphrodite had pulled Ra from her mind first, after all...who could easily forget their first love but she had rushed through a few heartbreak like quicksand to get to just Hades. He had been her peaceful moment before the raging storm of guilt hit her. It still didn’t seem to be too much of a deterrent though since she was still here, brushing out the bottom portion of her blush pink dress yet again as she tried to get a hold of her nerves. Hathor lifted her head, her eyes landing on the door as it opened when she suddenly felt breathless, time almost feeling like it was slowing or maybe it was just her lack of notice to anything or anyone else. Her heart pounded wildly in her chest and butterflies fluttered in her stomach as a brilliant smile graced her lips before she even had any hope to stop it nor did she want to as she stared at who had come in. H...John!, she called with a light wave, glad she had caught her mishap of almost saying his real name before it was too late.

Hades took a quick second to adjust his suit once more making sure he still looked good. Not that his looks were everything to him but Hades did feel strongly about keeping up appearances. As he entered the tea shop Hades inhaled the divine smell of various teas as he made his way over to Hathor. “Greetings Yasmin.” Hades greeted with a genuine smile ignoring some of the looks he received from the other patrons. They weren't looks of fear so much as confusion. Hades was what you could call a regular of the shop. However in all his time of visiting the shop Hades had hardly if ever met with another sole. Preferring to keep to himself in the corner of the shop. Taking his seat across from her Hades continued “How are you feeling after the conclave? I know my sister can be quite overbearing when she wants to be… which is usually always.”

She gave a light chuckle, knowing that it was probably the truth from the few moments that she had been in Hera’s presence and by some of the past comments or stories about her person. ”I am feeling much better now that some time has passed. It still feels a bit strange and makes my heart ache when I recall the memories from the conclave. Enough about me though, how are Dio and Coco doing? How are you holding up? I am not sure how close each of you were to Hephaestus but I know family is important, it is a hard hit to lose anyone.”, Hathor said, her heart going out to each of them and the Greeks as a whole. She would have said she couldn’t imagine or understand what they were going through but the problem was, Hera had let her know exactly how they felt. Honestly, she was worried about them and what could happen as a result.

“I’m doing alright. Me and my nephew were never really that close in all honesty. Though he is one of the few that never truly deserved the lot he was given.” Hades paused for a moment, moving his vision to the sky just outside the window for a brief moment as if remembering the old days. “Dio was hit the hardest I’d say. Him and my son were always close.” Hades let out a chuckle remembering his son's antics with the forge god. “Dio was the only one that could ever get the stubborn fool to calm down. As for coco, I’m not sure.” He finished with a hint of sadness. “I think seeing her dad like that probably messed with her more than anything. I did my best to calm her down, but that was never my strongest ability.” Hades felt a pain of guilt hit his heart as he remembered accidentally hurting his own granddaughter as a result of his reaction to the vision.

“But enough of all the bad news. How has working for our dear friend Tlaz been?”

She nodded softly in understanding, not surprised that in such a big family that some of them didn’t have great connections. The knowledge that Dio had been very close to the forger didn’t hit her as shocking because the look on the god's face during the conclave had spoken volumes of the pain he had felt. It seemed that even the comfort from his father and daughter hadn’t even penetrated the pain to bring relief. She wished that Hera hadn't been in such bad shape so she could have helped as well. She didn’t know what happened with Coco but Hathor reached out her hand to place it on his for just a moment to try and comfort him, that moment of sadness that flashed behind those eyes making her want to do anything to wash it away. ”They are both lucky to have you. Just keep being there for them in the way only you can.”, she said softly before slowly pulling her hand back and smiling brightly at the much needed change in subject.

”It has been wonderful working with Tlaz! She is completely amazing and has been a dear friend to me. The change from the Bar Lounge to the Jade Jaguar has been liberating to say the least. I didn’t realize how stuck I was feeling until she convinced me to make a change. I kind of miss having my own bar like back in the day but I don’t miss the paperwork and responsibilities that went with it, that is for sure. I much prefer how it is now, where I can have fun and just be a more relaxed version of myself. What about you? How is working going? Smoothly, I hope?”

“Well I'm glad that you are enjoying the new job. No need in doing something if you get too stressed about it and no longer enjoy it.” Hades offered “Though it is a shame to not have your bar around anymore, I bet Tlaz is happy to have the best Bartender in her employ.” He finished with a smile on his face before letting out a slight sigh. “Heavy is the head that bears the crown, I suppose. Nothing I can't handle though.”

”You flatter me, John. I would hardly call myself the best but I appreciate that you think so.” Hathor replied with a small smirk, trying to keep herself from getting flustered or blushing at the small compliment. She rested her chin on her palm, looking him over as she took in what he said with a sigh which caused her brows to furrow a bit.”I have no doubts about that. You have always been able to handle even the most trying of situations with flawless dedication and persistence but I hope you know, it’s alright to lean on others. You don’t have to bear every burden alone. I doubt I am the only one to offer but...if you ever need anything even if it is just something small like someone to vent to then I am here for you.

Hathor paused for a moment to realize what she just said, stuttering nervously with a light blush, ”S-Sorry about that. It...uh, seems like I keep picking horrible subjects.” She looked away, biting her lip gently and rubbing her neck as she tried to think of what to say when an idea sparked. They had been so busy chatting that they hadn’t ordered anything yet which seemed like a safe bet. ”So, what kind of tea would you like?”, she asked softly, trying to change the subject in case he didn’t want to talk about her offer.

Hades shifted slightly in his chair for a moment taking on a more serious posture one could argue. His gaze seemed slightly more intense for only a minute as he stared straight at Hathor who was now attempting to avoid his gaze. Aside from the unwillingness to make eye contact with him Hathor seemed genuine in her offer to help should he simply ask. “Well I appreciate the offer Hathor, I may just have to take you up on that offer in the near future.” He finally spoke, keeping his gaze on the woman sitting in front of him. “Well I am a big fan of their Orange spice tea. How about yourself?” Hades finished showing a smile again while still attempting to gauge Hathor and her reactions.

The second Hades actually decided to speak of her offer instead taking the way out provided, her hands dropped back to fold into her lap and her eyes locked onto his own, not drawing away for a moment. Her expression was soft but serious as she spoke her next words, ”Say the word and I will be there for you, Hades. Anytime, any place, and anything you need that is within my power, you shall have. All you ever need do is ask.” A smile broke on her features as she continued, ”Orange spice sounds perfect. It is actually one of my favorites. Wait here, I’ll go talk to Imentet about it since I told her to hold off while I waited. Nothing worse than cold tea after all.” With that said, she gracefully rose from her seat, heading back to the front counter.

She let out a relieved sigh but her muscles remained tense, nervous that the two would change their minds or cause trouble for her since she had stood in the way of their target. Kyouna didn’t have too much time to focus on that though as there were more important matters to think of now, such as the shop and her sudden guest which was probably in need of some care after being smashed through a solid wall and a few tables. She moved out of a defensive stance, carefully letting the tea drop since it was a waste to use now anyway as they had been mixed together. The damage to the shop also made it unlikely she would be open for the rest of the day and maybe longer. It was such a disappointment to have such work and beauty go to trash within an instant but she wasn’t about to let anyone come to harm if she could do something to stop it, even if that meant destroying her beloved creations.

Kyouna turned heel, making her way back to the shop and flipping the sign to close as she entered. The place looked like the bar after a brawl and then some which caused a frown on her face and anger to boil through her veins. She should have been more forceful with those two but at least they had left without too much trouble. Insurance would take care of the rest but it was still a complete hassle. She yanked out the ribbon holding up her hair, letting the inky tresses fall as she desperately felt the need to rake her fingers through it in frustration. Her turquoise eyes shot to her guest as he began to speak an apology but it just made her nerves bristle more that he was even trying to move as he did so. ”What in spirit's name do you think you are doing? You shouldn’t be trying to move.”, Kyouna scolded, quickly moving to his side.

”Do you feel like anything is broken or a stabbing pain in any particular area that should be looked at? I will try to heal you best I can but it would be easier if I knew it was safe to move you from your current position to a chair before giving you a look over., she said in a more soft tone, trying to calm herself down since the last thing they needed was someone yelling at them after what he just went through. She turned her attention to her young assistant for a moment, ”Jemmu, can you please bring me some water? I would rather have it ready just in case.” Once that request was out of the way, she turned back to her uninvited guest with a look of worry etched on her features. She needed to know more about these Fangs and if she was going to have more of a problem here. It was something that was going to have to wait until he was in better shape though. She was also curious on what exactly he stole or did to make those two that angry. ”I’m Kyouna by the way, what should I call you?”

Jessica shook her head before giving a soft smile to Amira as she spoke,”It’s alright, shit happens. I can always look it up later but thanks for trying.” She should have known better that the signal up here wouldn’t be the best. Instead of worrying about the location details, she listened to Asélie explain that she might know a way to get them in which was the first half of any battle. A way in and one that had been successful more than once was better than stumbling in blind and running into problems. ”I won’t say anything, the last thing I want is to rat someone else. Besides, if I did, then I would have to admit that I was there or did it as well.”, she stated with a small shrug, looking to Will to see if he was on board with that idea.

The answer was really no surprise to Jess. If she had been in Will’s shoes, she knew she would be in even if there was a risk. It was nice that he was worried about them. She didn’t know how the others felt about it but she was game for a bit of adventure. ”It’s only dangerous if you don’t prepare for the possibilities. We just need to be smart about how we enter, make sure to stick together, have some way to lead us back out if there are too many paths, and some light so we don’t rely on a system that may no longer work or cause problems. We’ve got this!”, she replied with determination.

Hana was already half way through the roasting of her first marshmallow when the commotion started up, causing her to pull the sweet treat from the fire. She watched nervously as Summer started up a confrontation with Dakota, it seemed to be rather serious straight from the start which usually wasn’t the normal style. She debated if she really wanted to get in the middle of a raging Summer and her recent target when the new member Jeremy stepped in to try to calm the stoking flames of both women’s fury. She honestly hoped that would be the end of it, that they could calm and settle things properly. Hana has hoped they would just have a relaxing and peaceful evening after such an ordeal but that must have been wishful thinking to hope for.

It was in that moment that her attention was pulled from the chaos by the sound of her name. Hana turned to see who was speaking to her and she was unsurprised to see that it was Arken, nervously or more uncomfortably asking the simple request to make a s’mores. Well, actually he didn’t ask to make a s’more, he asked if she could make one for him which she didn’t mind doing. She didn’t know much about Arken other than details that she had observed or the coven talking about his family in passing so for all she knew, maybe he wasn’t a camping person and didn’t know how to make one. It was also possible he was trying to stay as far away from the conflict as he could which she didn’t blame him for. It was getting ugly and even more were joining into the mix. It made her stomach curl in knots and she was really worried one of them would be hurt. They had just changed the way they were used to using magic, it didn’t seem like testing it with fights was a good way to start.

She did her best to set that thought aside, moving the marshmallow back into the fire with a small smile, ”Sure, no problem. I’m almost done with this one.” It didn’t take long before it was complete, Hana carefully placing the top graham cracker on and getting up to make her way over. She knelt down next to him, holding out the sweet treat and waiting for him to take it, ”Here, I hope you like it.” Her eyes drifted back to the fight, more people joined in to stop it from the last time she was focused on it, though it seemed like it was at the top of its boiling point and some people were more like herself hoping to avoid it. Alayna even clearly stated that she needed some air but when she headed for the wood. She felt a chill of panic at the thought of anyone being alone out in the woods at night.

”Wait! Alayna, you really shouldn’t go alone! It might not be safe, I’ll come with you.” Hana called, standing up before looking back to Arken. ”I hope you like it. I’ll be back in a bit and we can have some more.”, she said with a bright and happy smile at the idea of doing some actual camping activities. It would be nice if she could convince Charlie to do fishing after all. Heck, maybe she could chat with Alayna about it and see if she thought more people would enjoy that. She quickly jogged up, not wanting to fall behind but Summer decided to head off into the woods now too.”She shouldn’t be going alone either. Someone should go after her?”, she said, seeing if anyone would volunteer or she might have to ask someone to go with Alayna so that she could go after Summer.

The shift in movement beside her and a distinct rustle of fabric had her hands sliding down to remove themselves from at least blocking her eyes. Chocolate met gold, the swirl of worry as clear as day but the deeper emotions they held easily stirred for her to see because they were emotions Hathor had felt herself before when concerning her sister. She had been trying to stay strong and keep her composure as best she could, the tears being the only thing she had not been able to stop but with Bastet’s words, a sharp pain of guilt that was her own added in with Hera’s made her want to crumble. She wasn’t even able to get an apology out as it came as more of a whimpering cry than even a reply. The issue was, she hadn’t been thinking, she had just acted and that was something that had always been her problem. When the moment struck just right, she wanted to do something about it. If she had been logical...Bastet would have been of monumental assistance so she herself did not have to be overwhelmed as she was currently but there was no changing the outcome now.

She hadn’t even needed to ask for support, her sister being the same pillar of strength and comfort that she had always been as the arms wrapped around her. Hathor clung to her like a child then, hugging her close and burying her face in the crook of her shoulder. She let herself be weak, not caring if the other ones saw since she was in her own world. She was grappling with herself, the emotions she felt as well as everything she had offloaded from Hera to place on her own soul. Bastet was at least keeping Hathor’s own emotions at bay with just letting herself focus on the hug itself. The comfort in knowing that she was not alone. For a moment, she thought that it might be manageable like this and then that moment was gone. The smell of lotus and sandalwood enveloped around her, one that had her heart skipping and racing. It pulled from her fond memories, moments of laughter, times where she had been his support, the thoughts of a warm and heated embraces that were nothing like the one she was receiving now but then it shifted, twisting as heartbreak and guilt slammed into her.

The painful flood of memories. The ones where she had been cast aside. All the promises that had been laid before her to be given to another. She had lived, breathed, protected, and loved with every fiber of her soul but it was never enough. She had never been enough. The other times she had tried to grasp at those feelings with another, they had run through her fingers like sand. All the loves she thought might be true never were and maybe she wasn’t meant to have one. Hathor tilted her head up, her eyes moving, glancing longingly at yet another man her heart beat for and knew this time it was for nothing. It wouldn’t stop making her feel even though it was strictly impossible. Well, maybe not but it was pretty damn close. The stab of guilt and sorrow ran through her again, making her grip on Bastet’s coat tighten. He was desperately in love with someone else and technically they were still married which made guilt eat at her soul. Kore was sweet and wonderful. It was hard not to love her.

It didn’t stop her from wanting anyway, it helped in holding her tongue though and keeping her feelings close to her heart instead of pouring them out to Hades. She took a moment to be content that at least she had his friendship, one they had forged in understanding and reflection of who the other was beyond just their darker sides. It was something she cherished just as much as her friendships with Tlaz and Hel. She would do anything for them, they only needed to say the word. She watched him comfort his two sweetpeas, making sure they had the support they needed and it felt bittersweet for her. The mist finally cleared, making her feel like she could come up for air instead of just drowning in her memories and thoughts but it was already too much. She needed away from this mess. Hathor slowly pulled back from Bastet, giving a weak smile and shakily stated that she needed some air.

The Morrigan was already putting her foot down by the time Hathor was at the door, making a swift exit. She wouldn’t be able to drive like this but sitting in the sun or doing some cloud gazing until the emotions drifted back to only her own wasn’t too bad of an idea. It was better than the other part of her that wanted to kick, scream, cry, and hit everything in sight. She just wanted this day to be over, have a few drinks, and do something...anything just to help her forget the pain she felt and the past she was running from. It probably wasn’t smart to be alone but at the same time, she didn’t want them to have to worry more. She would be fine. She was used to this. She could handle it.

Hathor found herself a patch of grass, flopping back into it without a care in the world or whether it was ruining her white outfit. The fresh air would do her good and everything else would fall into place. She couldn’t change what was but she could learn from it. When she was back to herself, she would look into seeing what she could do for the fallen god. They were all in danger and she would not allow her loved ones to be next. She needed her family and friends to be safe. It was those thoughts that ran through her mind as she watched the clouds drift, her heart aching in a sea of negative emotions and loss.

Everything felt like it was closing in on her, getting smaller and smaller with each passing moment. The fear running rampant through her as her chest felt heavy and her throat felt clenched. She gripped the robe in one hand for dear life as she pushed herself shakily to take one more step. She kept reminding herself that the worst had passed and it would just be a bit further until she was in a wide open space. She could take a moment then to regain her composure and actually enjoy the fact that she had done it. She had become a witch like her mother before her and she should be proud she worked so hard to get to this point. Right now though, she was far from feeling any of that and could hardly focus, each step like lead. Hana just prayed she wouldn’t pass out or curl up on the path to cry.

A startled yelp almost left her mouth as she felt her hand be taken into someone else’s. She hadn’t heard anyone, too lost in her own world and she was frazzled, still shaking from the different healings as well as the crushing fear she was just experiencing. Her hand automatically held tight, her mind trying to catch up while she clung to the person who took hold of her hand, using them as a pillar of support to know she wasn’t alone. Her eyes moved from the forest floor, looking up to see who exactly had decided she needed to have her hand held only to be surprised to find Arken. She did a small glance around, noticing it was just them and felt confusion. Why was he being so strange today? She looked up to him once more, fine to walk hand in hand as they moved even though the silence was a bit odd but not unpleasantly so.

It was then that he started stumbling on words as he blurted out something about the night and stars. It was just bizarre to mention the night sky was full of stars, what else would it be full of? She raised a brow as he nervously chuckled. Did he have too much blood loss or something? She tilted her head a bit about to reply when he quickly cut her off to say they should join the group and swiftly disconnected their hands. Hana paused as she watched him power walk away, her hand tingling where his had been and feeling the loss. Panic gripping her quickly as she almost cried for him not to leave her here alone but covered her mouth instead. She wasn’t in the closet. Nothing here was out to get them. She was safe. Arken wasn’t going to be attacked with no one to help. It would be okay. She still felt rooted to the spot she was standing for a moment, whimpering as she shook harder from head to toe and took a small step forward. ’Just a little more.’

She felt physically and emotionally drained by the time she made it out of the tunnel. No one was there to greet her or cheer for her but she didn’t mind. It was nice to see everyone so happy. Hana got congrats from a few people she passed but most were focused on the ones they knew personally. She gathered her things, knowing she should probably go eat something to help with the shakes but decided not to do so. She just wanted to watch so she took a seat on the porch steps and looked out over the crowd. It felt so much more peaceful now. She had been right before, the worst of it was over and she could look towards the future. Her eyes drifted up to the sky, a soft smile as she gazed at the glittering stars.

The few moments she had to herself faded, the announcement of a camping trip for the evening giving way to excitement and unhappiness for others. Hana felt herself blush in embarrassment, having forgotten that the Elders told her to do some light packing. At least she lived here so the mistake wasn’t too bad but now she was gonna panic over what the hell to pack. Why did she wait until the last minute, literally?! She followed the group, only coming along to take note of the location before heading back to the house, getting frowned at to which she just grinned with a shrug. She started to pack up an outfit for tomorrow, quickly changing into her pajamas before rushing to the kitchen to snag a few items before heading back to the campsite. It seemed like everyone was having a good time already, arriving again just as Isolde finished her story.

She dropped her pack and stood nervously by the fire for a second before finally speaking up, ”I don’t know if anyone would be interested but I, um, I brought stuff for s’mores. I thought it might be fun to do while we exchange stories or just to have some dessert.” Hana flipped open her pack, to show bars of chocolate, gram crackers, marshmallows, and camping rods all haphazardly placed on the top. She planted herself down on the grass, still feeling a bit exhausted but excited and happy to be on this trip and in nature. She was still smiling brightly even though her nervousness at suggesting probably a childish idea but who didn’t love sweets?

YASMIN
THE UNIVERSITY, SEATTLE
Mood: Just the cherry bomb on top

Hathor sat there, stunned on how this had all spiraled downhill so rapidly by just a few simple words but in all honesty, hadn’t she been expecting something to happen? This was still far from what she had pictured but this was just the cherry on the top of her day, the straw that broke the camel's back. Earlier, the puking incident had taken any desire to eat and flushed it down the toilet as she tried not to gag herself, feeling some pride that she had been able to accomplish not gagging or even appearing phased. The sounds alone were extremely unpleasant though. At least the few from her pantheon joining her had given her the boost of happiness she needed, glad to see them all and welcome them with the brightest of smiles as they sat with her and she returned their good mornings.

Flirting a bit had been a fun addition, though a bit unfortunate that The Morrigan has started the Conclave so suddenly and with absolutely no ease into the subject. She didn’t blame her for wanting to just get it over with but not knowing how the God actually died was upsetting. It meant that they also were no longer safe. It felt as though that fact had been thrown out the window though as blame and chaos decided to take its place, which is where they were at now. Words were being thrown about to think logically, to get more information but this wasn’t at a point where talking alone would be welcome as it was over emotional. Hathor took a deep breath, pulling herself from her stunned state while ignoring the yelling and flipped over tables.

She slowly and calmly stood from her seat, gracefully moving herself so that she stood before Ares and slid herself to be a shield in front of the other God that was being threatened. She grabbed Ares wrist to make sure it stayed pointed at her for the moment, not letting it stray in her firm grip. If anyone was to be shot here today then she was fine with it being her.
”I understand you are upset but shooting Gods who in fact could be innocent isn’t going to do any good. Right now, someone needs you a bit more don’t you think?”, she asked, her eyes drifting to Hera and her heart ached for the woman before her. She had never been able to stand seeing a mother upset or cry.

Hathor eyed Ares warily as she let him go, hoping he would choose not to shoot anyone as she assisted his mother. She took a few paces from him, letting the tingle of power through veins as she reached out to place a hand on Hera's shoulder. In an instant, she felt a flood of emotions fill her as she worked to numb and dull the pain Hera was currently feeling. All the rage, anguish, guilt, grief, and loss almost made her want to choke and easily had tears pouring down her face. She kept her hand firmly in place as she worked to pull the chair that had been flung with her foot, setting it back into place before gently guiding the woman to have a seat. If she had any doubts of Hera caring about her children before, it was pretty much gone now. She didn’t agree with how the woman handled things but feeling what she was going through now, taking it from her to she could be shielded from it made that clear as day she loved her children or at least the one that had passed.

Hathor gently rubbed Hera’s back in a soothing manner, taking as much negative emotions and pain as she could. It made her want to lash out at everyone and dug a drive to do anything to find this killer since she was feeling like she had lost her own child but she reigned herself in to focus on helping the woman who had originally housed these emotions. She knew the feelings would fade but it was still hard to grasp currently. She leaned down and hugged the other woman gently before whispering softly,
”I am truly sorry for your loss. I promise whoever did this will not go unpunished but we cannot place blame and damage more relationships while we search. The feelings I have taken from you will return eventually, please be prepared for that.”

With that being said, she pulled away and took a few steps back before giving Ares a strong look of disapproval before turning her attention to the group speaking clearly,”Now, why don’t we put the guns away, literally and metaphorically for five minutes and actually let The Morrigan speak. Just because she doesn’t know how doesn’t mean there isn’t clear information that could lead to answers, even pieces of the puzzle that one of us may have insights or thoughts on. It is not fair to place blame and nothing that happens here will change the fact that the unfortunate circumstance has occurred. There is no undoing what has been done but is this really how you wish to honor the dead’s memory. Would he wish to see this? Have some respect.”Hathor scolded, her fingers digging slightly into her palms as her hands held into tight fists. She could still feel tears flowing down her cheeks and each moment she was fighting not to yell, scream, cry out, and just break everything in sight. It felt much worse than miserable and all she wanted to do was have a seat again so that is exactly what she did. She moved back to her seat, shakily dropping into it and putting her head in her hands, trying to get a hold of herself. This was one of the more overwhelming feelings she had ever taken from another.

SI WONG CITY
Location: Tea & La

She was pleasantly surprised that Jemmu had decided to stay and continue working the full day as she was prepared for him to snatch up her offer and rush off. He really was a good kid. It didn’t bother her that he had requested for a break, it would be a nice change of pace to be out of the crafting room for a bit. This was the part she truly loved after all, the chatting with customers and the smiles on their faces which was created from something she had made with her own two hands. Tea brought people together, giving a sense of unity and balance. It took all the elements to make the perfect cup of tea. Each taking on an important piece to make something wonderful as a whole. She liked to think that reflected in her tea, hopefully bringing a piece of that to her customers.

Kyouna’s smile faltered for a moment, her eyes landing on Kosroq of the Northern Water Tribe. He had been there before and yet each time, it felt like a punch to the gut and a knife in her heart. It wasn’t his fault that he reminded her more than any other of all she had left behind. She was sure he didn’t know her personally even though they looked close in age or at least she didn’t remember him. He had never said anything to make her think that he knew her or what she had done. She steeled herself, telling herself he was just another customer and that she should be happy that someone of her tribe liked the brews. It did help bring a soft smile to her features as she took his order, giving a nod before working on getting him a fresh brewed cup and making sure that it was heavier on the honey as requested. She also made sure to bring a side bowl in case her measurements were off so he could adjust it himself. Kyouna placed both carefully before him then flitted off to the next table, not having a moment to spare. The natural pace couldn’t be broken or it would end up a mess.

A bright smile graced her lips as Jemmu joined her again. “It seems like you were accurate in your assessment.” she replied, not missing a beat as she poured a cup for one table while stacking dishes on a tray from the table beside it. She did try to hold back her laughter but it happened anyway, the innocent joke making her smile. Kyouna had been about to joke in return, telling him not to tempt her when they were both separated and pulled to take care of different matters. It was probably for the best. It did make her think that maybe she could teach him a bit if he wanted. Probably not now but maybe later in the summer when he got the hang of what he was starting with. She had a feeling that boy could do anything if he set his mind to it.

Time seemed to continue rolling by at a fast pace, her attention pulled in all directions from welcoming customers, serving, cleaning, brewing, and baking. She hardly had a moment's pause but she did make sure to keep an eye out for Jemmu now and then, making sure the firebender didn’t get overwhelmed or didn’t need her help with something. It seemed to be going smoothly so far and she would call this a productive morning. It made her happy to hear that he was at least having fun even if he was practically forced to be here and admitting this was a bit harder than he thought it would be. Kyouna had no chance to answer though as one of their customers had taken the moment to speak up, answering for her. The sudden praise though, she was completely unprepared for.

She felt her face light up red, nervously not sure how to accept a compliment like that and just ended up stuttering weird noise while quickly shaking her head and waving her hands. “Don’t be silly. I-I am not amazing at all!” she barely managed to squeak out before a horrible crashing sounded out on the other side of the restaurant. People started to panic a bit, scrambling up and moving out of the way. Her window was not in the greatest of shapes, parts of the wall even crumbling and falling. Tables were toppled over, cups and pots were smashed while people were trying to leave that didn’t help the situation either. “Nobody panic! Everyone, through the kitchen and out the back door.” Kyouna stated, starting to control the crowd of scared customers and lead them out the safer way.

Once it looked like they were in control, no longer running frightened, she turned to what had caused the commotion. There was a man still laying against the toppled over table while two larger men strolled through her doors as if they had done nothing wrong. It was as if it hadn’t even phased them or registered in their tiny brains that they had wrecked everything and coming in all high and mighty. Did they think she would just allow a fight?! And money?! What about what they would owe her for the mess they had caused?! She didn’t care what the other man had done to inflict their wrath but punching anyone through a wall was insane! She felt her blood boil, her rage building with each step she took forward and glaring sharply at the two brutes in front of her. The spilt and leftover tea bubbled up from the ground and pots around her, drifting into the air to follow, swishing angrily like a sea during a storm as she stepped up between Jemmu and the men that had dared disturb her shop.

“I couldn’t agree with you more, Jemmu. I would be very interested to know this information.” she spoke calmly before it dropped to a colder tone by the second. “Both of you couldn’t possibly be demanding money like thugs in my shop when you both not only destroyed my wall and window but damaged two tables, broke so many dishes I don’t want to begin to count, terrified my customers, and dropped my revenue for the day.” The hot mixture she had gathered behind her slowly lashed forward to force them back as she moved forward, careful to not have it anywhere near the ones she was protecting.

“But you know the worst of this….you thought it was acceptable to harm and threaten someone. I don’t care what he may have done or taken, you both are dishonorable cowards. There were obvious and peaceful solutions but you both wanted two verses one.” She hissed angrily, moving her hand and gathering tea from her kitchen, moving it out the window so it was in fighting range. “I suggest, you both walk away now or I promise you will regret it.” She might not be a fighter but she did know that flinging around boiling liquid was threatening enough. Kyouna was straining herself but she didn’t show it, letting her stance slide into a fighting move. “What’s it going to be?”

She was relieved to see that Calypso had Dakota to help her out since she had been having a particularly rough go since the very beginning of the ritual though it seemed like a few others were slowly running into their own problems as well. It definitely hadn’t gone smoothly for a good portion of them but at least most of them had come together to help each other, the Elders stepping in where they were needed. Hana didn’t see anyone else that was currently needing assistance, which meant she also didn’t have any more reason to stall or hang around the area. A bubble of panic started to form in her gut, a clawing fear trying to grip hold of her once more now that her attention was drawn away from focusing on the ritual or her fellow witches. She felt like the trees were closing in, trapped at the wellspring, the beauty of the place fading as her vision tried to blurry and shakes started back up.

It was fine, she just needed to get to the entrance and make her way back. It wasn’t that far away right? She couldn’t recall though, it had felt like an eternity before and her legs were even more wobbly now. Would she even be able to make it? Would she end up passed out like Summer or in a worse panic attack than Maggie? She felt like her breathing was about to go ragged when a voice brought her back out of it a bit, her attention turning to Arken as he spoke. It felt far away but at least it kept her a little grounded, though she was still in pretty bad shape. It took her a second or two longer to process what he said exactly before she found herself responding, ”N-No problem, Arken. H-Happy to help!”. Her voice had come out shaky and slightly more like a squeak but at least she had answered. It was almost a relief when his attention moved on to Summer who had just been woken up. It didn’t seem like she was interested in talking much which she couldn’t blame her for. It must have been a bit embarrassing to be one of the people to pass out, though it was most likely karma being a bitch.

It was a startling surprise that Summer had thanked the Elder for healing her which caused a bright blush to rise on Hana’s face at the unknowing compliment. It was for the best that Summer had her focus on the Elder, not really needing the extra attention herself. That was the last thing she wanted. She quickly took this as a great cue to leave and swiftly headed for the exit, yanking off the cloak as did. It helped to have a bit more movement and something to hug to her chest like a stuffed animal as she walked, the grip of her fingers no longer having to dig into the palms of her hands. The trip back seemed a little better since it was headed out of the trapped area that housed the wellspring or at least that is what she thought at first. Hana was starting to very much regret not waiting to head back as the path was darker since she didn’t have the lanterns the elders had possessed. It made everything feel much more creepy, unnerving and she couldn’t wait to be back at the porch which would feel much more comforting. The worst part of the night was over or at least that is what she told herself on repeat, trying to push through the tunnel and back up the hill to the party.
