Location: Verona Clinic — Jade’s Room → Scout’s Room
Interacting With: A nurse; Scout Presley @Liriia 

About an hour,  possibly more, since Alicia and Katalina had left her room due to Jade losing her shit, she woke up. It wasn’t like before. She did have a dream, but it wasn’t something that Jade Taylor wasn’t used to by now. The past twelve or so hours have been torture for her. Plagued by those dreams of what she did. At the time, Jade didn’t know what they were. Thanks to Alicia enlightening her, Jade couldn’t stay asleep. She tried to go back to sleep, but those dreams were too much. No, that’s not accurate. It wasn’t that the dreams themselves were too much, but the guilt that Jade felt in her heart was building up.  Jade knew that she wouldn’t be able to get past this guilt unless she did something. 

Slowly getting her body up, Jade alerted the nurse who was checking her chart. “Miss Taylor! You shouldn’t move. You’re still weak.” The nurse said.

Jade looked at her. “Please, I need to get to Scout Presley’s room.” Jade said.

“I don’t think that would be wise.” The nurse was hesitant.

“Please..” Jade was begging. She never begged. “I-I have to see her.” Jade insisted.

“Fine, but not long, okay?” The nurse sighed,  “both you and Miss Presley need your rest.”  The nurse said, getting Jade’s wheelchair.

“I understand — and thank you,” Jade smiled. Yup, she definitely wasn’t feeling herself today.

The nurse smiled back at Jade as she would help the blonde into her wheelchair. It took a few moments cause the female nurse wasn’t exactly the most physically strong. It took her calling for some male help to properly get Jade into the chair. Once one did come, it was only a matter of positioning Jade into the chair. After about a minute of finding the right position, she eventually got in it, and the female nurse started pushing Jade to Scout’s room. It wasn’t long, probably a minute or two of pushing her, the nurse opened Scout’s room door, and pushed Jade in. 

As the nurse wheeled Jade near Scout‘s bed, she stopped. “Okay, you have twenty minutes. That’s as long as I can allow you. Then you need your rest, am I clear?” The nurse said quietly.

“I got it.” Jade said, “thank you.” Jade smiled at the nurse. She smiled back and left.

As Jade saw the nurse leave, Jade looked at Scout. A melancholy expression to Jade’s face as she saw Scout’s hands. They were heavily bandaged. Jade knew why they were. She saw it in her dreams. They were bandaged like that because Jade couldn’t control herself. They were bandaged like that because Scout was selfless in saving Alicia and Katalina. They were bandaged like that because Jade’s magma powers put such pressure against Scout’s force-field that the residual heat transferred over to Scout’s hands. They were bandaged like that because of Jade. It was her fault.

As Jade’s hands grabbed Scout’s own gently, drops of water fell on them, darkening parts of the white bandages. “I’m so sorry, Scout,” Jade said lowly, “I never wanted to hurt you. You’ve always been a friend to me. Unlike most of everyone at that party, you never treated me as if I was an outsider, and you-you--” Jade’s voice suddenly cracked from the emotions she was feeling. Her eyes produced more tears and they fell on Scout’s bandaged hands, some falling on the bedding.”--you almost died because of me, because I couldn’t control my powers. It‘s my fault that I almost killed one of my best friends.” Her blonde hair-filled head was now down on Scout’s hand. With Jade’s hair and the heavy bandaging of Scout’s hand, it muffled Jade’s loud weeping.
