Lo, Old piqued my interest again. Any chance I can salvage Gungnir?@Old Amsterdam@Regitnui
Well. Mebbe.

No No no no no.... Mei blanched upon witnessing the drastic altered course of fight, in no small thanks to the rinraku kagune of the young man stopping the chimera far quicker than she thought. But the inevitably happened, and instead of cracking the dangerous ghoul's spine, she had managed to strike a direct punitive hit against the head, no doubt probably even more lethal. To credit the ghoul's resilience, Mei was glad that she had not truly pulverized the guy's head into a fine paste with that blow.

After quickly regaining her footing besides the berserker ghoul, she watched the pitiable spectacle. His rage had vanished, and now despair was beginning to assault him. Mei could not avert her gaze. This monster was deserving of sympathy. He had clawed his eyes out just to avoid pain. She wondered how much had he been tortured to reach that point. She tilted her head. Kokaku was still blind but alive. Good. At least she would not case more deaths in her zeal.

"Sorry about that. Try blinking some more, it should help. He is not dead...yet. But neutralized, sure." Mei said curtly to the Kokaku, as she eyed the pitiful figure of the former beast, still hung by the Rinraku. Whom, now seemed bent on questioning him bluntly. She found the youngster kind of cocky, but after how the fight had been developed, she reasoned most youngsters would feel that way.

"Why should not we? Would, perhaps his death save anyone? Is it a matter of safety, or a matter of satisfaction?" She commented out, her sight set on the Rinraku ghoul. The situation was making her slightly more mindful of her barbs, but not by much. Her sight turned into the chimera.

I need to stabilize these massive wounds. Even for a Rinraku chimera, unless we can trigger the accelerated regeneration, he is a goner. He will be still be one should I intervene. This is going to suck. She pondered, not relishing the idea of what she had to do. There was a way, yes, but not something that was her cup of tea. She focused, her kagune shrinking and changing shape, until it was but the tiniest hint of shards on the back of her shoulder. She rubbed one of the now miniaturized protusions, producing a small shard of Kagune, razor sharp like a scalpel.

One of the largest muscles in the body is the Gluteus maximus. I can harvest enough flesh from there and still not suffer many side effects for the time being. The bad news is, that i'll have to prechew it because he doesn't seem in a position of swallowing. She gulped as she readied herself, lifting the back of her skirt with one hand, and performing a deft cut on her left buttock, huffing in pain, but maintaining enough discipline to tear a meat slab out of it. Well, there goes my new dress, stockings and part of my dignity. Also my lovely shaped backside. She grimaced as she steeled herself for the second part. She really had to keep her discipline on this one, as she reduced the graft into a fine paste using her mouth. She leaned for the final part of her move, giving the young, eyeless ghoul a mouth-to-mouth maneuver so that he could benefit of the...strange meal.

"Live" She whispered to the incapacitated ghoul.
Misato gritted her teeth as she kept showing examples of how not to drive safely. The large vehicle seemed to tilt and crash a couple of times, but she kept driving, undeterred, sight on the road. She registered the vocal concerns of two pilot of hers, yet she did not turn her attention fully nor her sight. Only one of them seemed a question, so she bothered replying to that one.

"Third angel. Can't talk. Driving." She added, curtly, as she hit the brakes once more to do a tight turn, while she spun the driving wheel like a casino dealer spins a wheel. Aoba was watching silently, trying to hold for his dear life, as the woman let her wrath be the guiding judgement of her driving. "What she means is that this is the opponent you pilots will have to fight." She addressed Taro and Helen, before noticing something in the corner of the eye.

"Captain! Left!" He snapped as a falling aircraft was on a direct collision impact towards the bus. The cruciform explosions had resumed, with newfound vigor and intensity. Misato let a curse as she tried to avoid the direct hit, but the debris impacted the rear of the bus, with a soundly crunch.

"Status!" Misato said, as Aoba gasped.

"We're down two pilots!" His voice dreadfully gasped, as he saw the mangled figures of Adam and Yeshua in the back rear. They were still alive, but given the looks of their wounds, it would be a miracle to have them battle ready. Hell, he was confident that if it wasn't for Misato's mad speedy drive, both pilots' life would be in peril.

"Tell a trauma team to wait on our way down." Misato gritted as she pushed the bus on its last meters, before slamming it in the Geofront's lift belt. The gargantuan machines barely acknowledged its existency as the bus disappeared in the mechanical maw underground. Cursed, she slammed the steering wheel visiblely angry.

"DAMN!" She uttered. "Whose idea was to collect all pilots in one go?" Her gaze was serious as Aoba nodded. "Kids, I hope you are not squeamish, but i need you to help me keeping the pressure on the wounds of your peers. It'll be for a while only, and we will reach the medics team below." Misato reassured as she gritted their teeth. The massive display of artificial and surreal landscape that the underbelly of the Geofront contrasted with the stark situation. Misato eyed Aoba, who informed of the new changes of the situation.

On the way down, an entire medical squad was awaiting, with Ritsuko Akagi directing them. The procession of the people in white scrubs was efficient and fast, carefully driving the wounded two pilots out of the bus, all while she sized up the remaining ones.

"Can we do with two?" She asked Katsuragi, as she frowned, arching her brown eyebrows which were a stark contrast with her bleached blonde hair.

"We will have to. I am going to rip some Section 2 heads off after this." Misato added, furiously stomping, her factions becoming more severe as she went towards the center of NERV.

"Misato...that way." Ritsuko Akagi kindly reminded Misato where the Eva cages were. Followed by Aoba and hopefully the two remaining pilots, they were greeted in a dark room which held the Evas, their machines, in stasis. Four of them, all together. Yet only two of them would be operational. The menacing appearance of Unit 01 loomed in opposition to that of Unit 04. The two remaining units were being kept in lockdown.

In a corner, a wispy blue-haired female was in a bed, her crimson eyes gazing the new arrivals with detached dispassion. And on top of them, in a well lit room, there was the Commander Gendo Ikari, of Nerv.

"Captain, explain the situation." The man said in a somber voice.

"We're down two pilots due to accidents in a battlefield." Misato answered somberly. "We can make it with two."

"I expect you to. That is why I have designated you as the Director of Operations." He turned his back."Failure is not an option." He added as he walked away from his perch, his words having been said.

"Yes sir." Misato added as she eyed both Helen and Taro. "Get ready for combat. We will sortie shortly." She added, before a rumble shook the entire section, nearly throwing Misato off her feet. However, no such luck was with the girl in the bed, who despite her wounds and lacerations, was thrown in the cold floor, her voice yelping in pain weakly.

"Bastard knows where we are." Misato bitterly concluded.

Yes! Mei mentally pumped up her fist, upon being the success of the attack. The target staggered, obviously affected and in pain, and thus that made the two young men to earn a reprieve from the madman's attacks. What followed, however, was not something she had expected at all, as she watched the gory spectacle of the Chimera clawing its own face in an impressive feat of self mutilation, going so far as to tear his own eyes out. She stood still, stiff in her position, as the shards flew past her, causing her cuts in her dress and minor wounds, one of them on her cheek.

The situation had turned sour, fast. She gritted her teeth as she watched the spectacle, not without a considerable pang of guilt. I overdid it. I really overdid it. Good job, Mei, reaaallly smooth. She chastised herself as she watched the young koukaku receive also a dose of friendly fire pepper spray. Her eyes drifted to the Rinraku, who was now the target of the blinded chimera's thrashing. He was deploying a brutal counter.

The Ukaku doctor pondered her options. She couldn't really let it happen this way. That chimera ghoul was aggressive and unhinged, but he was mentally ill, and no doubt in pain and confusion rather than outright malice. But what could she do? She pondered her options as she clenched her fist. Sedation? not possible. Sleeper hold? Very difficult. Death of the patient? Likely. Death of the bystanders also likely. Best course of action: Incapacitation by fracture in cervical vertebrae. Recoverable for a ghoul, but risk of death. Risk of being wide open? Substantial, but assumed. She had decided. She readied herself and sprout forth the maximum wingspan of her kagune, looking down on the running chimera, who was all too busy trying to get himself impaled in the Rinraku's kagune.

<<"The water flows from the mountain.">> She whispered to herself in Mandarin. <<"...and tears the rock asunder">> She took a deep breath.

She dart at her full speed from her vantage point, jumping high in the air not differently like the chimera had done before, iridiscent birdlike wings of a kagune swiftly repositioning as she spun in midair, one of her well-shaped legs describing a distinctive arc. And then swooping down on the Chimera's neck with her heel, aided by the strength of the jump and freefall, just like a mighty raptor bird. If she landed that hit in the way she intended, the fight would be over, and she could turn to heal those in need. And probably spare deaths, judging how vicious the display was becoming.

Mei sighed exasperated, the morning had been rather boring and trite, and the barista ghoul with a sense of lecturing everyone had not helped either. The chinese ghoul kept walking on, wandering around trying to discern the subtle, yet aromatic telltale of coffee to find a nearby shop, all while trying to stave off her darker thoughts by trying to find some meaningful distraction in her day. Her requests were answered.

She could smell coffee. And ghouls. And violence. "...just my luck, I guess.". She bitterly said within her teeth. She did not really want to fight, not in her dress. She abhorred violence, but as a medic, first and foremost, she was sworn to help those in need. And that was not something that she would ever want to skip, at least when ghouls were related. Clenching her teeth, she discarded her high heels and turned into a side alley, quickly running towards the source of violence as she put her mask on. Her hearing could reach the exchanges. Three people. Two of them sane. One of them a raving lunatic.

A public health kind of case really. If i was alone, I would call the CCG, but I would trap those two other in between the crossfire. She lamented mentally, as she focused on the battle at hand, as she quickly jumped to a vantage position using her agility and the diverse ladders of a building, downwind so that her scent would reach later. It was worse than she feared. A chimera, unusually powerful and crazy versus two ghouls. They were in trouble. She wasn't sure she could beat the thing either. But she had only to try.

Her eyes flickered black for the barest moment as she produced a single shard of her Ukaku kagune in her hand, as throwing dagger. In the other, her entire pepper spray cannister. It was an useful tool to keep men at bay and keep the appearance of normality but it could become a weapon if used correctly. One chance. She breathed deep, hoisted the canister, and threw it at the chimera's face, followed by a timely ukaku shard thrown that visibly bursted the canister in front of it, spreading all of the canister's irritant content on the ghoul's face.
"Run, youngsters!" She chided to the two young men as she got ready for the followup.
Sorry to see you go.

Edit: Casso also left, as a result. I will keep the RP alive in extremis, but if a third player drops it will be untenable.

"And I would have appreciated some coffee fast, I care not about fancy dressings. But the world is so full of disappointments." Mei answered without missing a heartbeat to the bartender, her eyes lazily sizing her up and down. Kinda young. She probably was one of those types that thought she could make a difference. Well, certainly not that way, antagonizing prospective fancy clients in their first meeting. Her eyes darted towards the other ghoul, who thankfully, was now making a better show by cleaning the bloody mess she hard herself caused to appear, with her face bruised.

"Now that is just cute. A champion of justice and girl power. I would join you, but I am far past the age of child games. Someday, everyone has to grow up..." She finished as she raised herself from table, proceeding to let a sigh, shaking her head. "Fool's gold, alas." She added, as she raised from her seat and began walking towards the exit. She wanted coffee, not holier-than-thou baristas, and she would not even spend an ounce of effort in tolerating those kinds. Plus the extra walk could help.

Without saying a word, she exited through the door. Now, was there another coffee shop nearby?
Cregan

He eyed the sword once more, admiring its sheen after a good cleaning. The wolf sighed as he rested his shoulders against the rugous and ancient roots of the Heart Tree in Winterfell's Godswood. So many preparations on top of preparations. Not only winter, but war. The halls felt a little emptier, and what kind of father would Rickon think he had once he grew up and learnt that his father had helped a war while preparing for winter. Arsa...was also missing, in a fit of a rebellious age.

He could feel it. Kinslaying could stain the war forever, yet. It would leave none of the Kingdoms untouched, and he had agreed upon that, for the honor of his predecessors, and the fairness and glory of the Stewards of the North. He stood there, as a messenger bore news of his newest developments.

"Easy, lad. Do speak clear." He said, as he allowed the youth to regain his breath after running searching for his lord. "I trust the orders have been executed?"

"Aye, Lord Stark. We are moving the most restless under Lord Roderick Dustin towards the Neck. They should fortify it and await orders, the two thousand of them."

Stark nodded, as he eyed the assorted scribbled parchments that the messenger had to read. "The harvest is going as planned. Lord Benjen is also leading the timber expedition towards Dragonstone."

Stark made a quick nod. Timber expedition was a term he had coined. In truth, it hurt not to be too careful. Given the despodent attitude of the Greens, chances are they would never look past the Neck in terms of activity and planning. And Cregan had no incentive to call their attention just yet. So he had sent his men for timber, of the human kind. Having sailed from White Harbor towards Dragonstone as yet another token of his loyalty to the Blacks. But there were simply not enough men to have said he had fully roused the north, yet.

"Bear island also reports that they have seen Dragons towards the Iron Islands." Cregan narrowed his eyes. The Iron Men were drawn to war just like maggots to rotten meat. He made a mental note to ask the Mormonts if they could identify the faction of said riders. If they had by, any chance been swayed to the greens, he would have yet another front to fight.

"You may go." He dismissed the messenger as soon as he was done, as he kept thinking. THe cogs of war slowly but surely were turning to a grim prospect. And yet, parlay could not be denied up until the last moment. Kinslaying was more than probable. Cregan knew that it was his duty to include someone if said talks would take place. The Night's Watch was to be informed of the fate of the Kingdoms, even if they would never take part in such a civil war.

He eyed the Heart Tree's face, covered in dry red sap that resembled tears of blood, uttered a last murmur, and left the sacred place in silence.
