Pokemon: New World

I don't know if Dusksong has leaked any info, but I have a big announcement coming soon. I planned on making the announcement on January 1st, but I've been exhausted. I forgot that my restaurant throws one of the biggest New Year's Eve parties in the city. I was up till 5am cleaning up and have still had to close the restaurant every night since then.

Tomorrow and Thursday are my days off this week. So I'll be making the announcement then.

Oh! @Balthazar007, now you're back, there's something I wanted to ask.

How are gyms and contests going to work? Do we use CP to create a gym or contest hall in an area? And what kinds of areas can have both? A few of us were discussing this a while back and we were wondering if smaller locations should have one or the other, but Feyhollow would be the most obvious place for a Fairy-type gym even though there's a contest hall, and something Tora said implies it could have both.

"Don't worry, we can always return to Feyhollow. Perhaps when the Gyms and Contests are back and holding a event here."

Besides, I had an idea...

What would make the most sense/ work best for this system?

I have been playing around with the concept of gyms and contests. While I can't say too much at the moment, I can say that this will be a feature soon. Probably within a month.

But these are the details that I can release at the moment:

1) Gyms will not be type exclusive. Instead, they will represent the Pokemon in their area. In other words, the Feyhollow gym leader COULD use primarily Fairy types, but could also have all the other types in the area.

2) As far as which locations can have a gym, I'd say that the middle three sizes will have gyms. Villages are too small to see enough traffic if they had a gym, and gyms in Metropolises would have too huge a disadvantage type-wise.

2a) This also gives light to the two other types of location specific gaming content soon to be released: Professor Laboratories and Contest halls. Professor laboratories can be found in Villages; this is because Professor's want to be located in areas with the most variety of Pokemon to study. Contest Halls will only be available in Metropolises; this is because these locations have the most ability to fund these sorts of extravagant events and benefit the most from seeing trainers from around the area bring in Pokemon that their citizens would normally never see.

2b) Also, since there are three different sizes of locations that can have gyms, there will be three different leagues (or divisions if you will). This is to account for the type advantage smaller locations have over larger locations. There will, however, be a champion's league that combines them all.

At the moment, I can't dive into the mechanics behind creating a gym, becoming a gym leader, or anything else besides what's mentioned above. More details will be released the near future.

@Balthazar007 I put up ToadRopes' mission on Feyhollow notice board, how do I notify people? Do I post something in the IC, or is checking mission boards just something people should do regularly?

People should be checking mission boards as they enter a new location. If the creator of the location or the creator of the mission wants to advertise the mission, do so here in the OOC section.

Andy's speech might need practice, but Ricardo could make out what he was saying. He nodded in agreement at everything Andy was saying, feeling a stab of guilt when Cammila and Abby were brought up. Honestly, after the pain that he just went through, he wasn't even thinking about the two girls.

"You're right. And we got to find a way out of here." Ricardo began to stand, keeping his hands in front of his crotch.

"Hello there!" A male's voice was calling out to the two of them. It came from a few buildings up the river side, one of the buildings Ricardo ran past on his way to save Andy. A man dressed in all black with an unbuttoned shirt was leaning out the side of his clothing shop. "You too look horrible! And pretty fucking naked too! Come get some clothes, unless you like that 'natural' look." Without waiting for a response, the man dissapeared into the building, leaving the door wide open behind him.

Did the man see Ricardo run by in a panic? How long had he been watching? Had he seen the whole torturing event happen and decided to do nothing more than offer clothes after the fact. Ricardo found the people of this city disgusting.

Turning to Andy, Ricardo spoke, "Well, I guess that solves one immediate problem."

Instead of waiting for a verbal response, Ricardo began leading the way to the clothing shop. Inside, the man sat on top of a check out counter, instead of standing behind it like a normal shopkeeper. "What are you looking at? Pick out some clothes. They're free. There are some changing rooms over there if you need some privacy." The man's final statement caused a wry smile to creep across his face. He obviously found the whole situation amusing. Ricardo was disliking him more and more, but at least he could be clothed.

Looking around, Ricardo wasn't very sure of what to think. The whole place reminded him of some sort of kink dungeon, Hot Topic, goth mixture. He did like to wear black, but skin tight leather, spikes, and straps were not his style. In the back, he found some clothes airing on the more normal side, tight black jeans and a tight black shirt. The jeans had a few non functional chains in weird places, but otherwise, it was something Ricardo would normally wear. He then looked around; he'd lost sight of Andy a couple minutes ago, but he knew the boy couldn't be far.

guidelines are:

1) There must be a mission description, a backstory if you will. Who made the mission and why.

2) There must be requirements to join the mission. How many people maximum? Any rank requirements? Do people have to have a certain number of Pokemon or a certain type of Pokemon? That sort of thing.

3) What are some goals that will have to be completed in order for the mission to be successful?

4) What rewards are you going to offer? Each person must receive the same reward. The rewards you offer and the number of people participating will effect how many CP your mission will cost.

4a) CP cost Formula:
(TP reward for each participant) + (TP value of any items awarded to each participant) = (Total TP value awarded per person)

((Total TP value awarded per person) / 10) x (0.5 x (the number of participants)) = Total CP cost (rounded up to the next whole number)

@luckyblackcat Was planning that actually ^_^ I think Leisy's going to be looking to battle in order to train her Pokemon -- would Ella be up for a sparring match (no stakes / low stakes)? I'd like to put in all her Pokemon, and it can literally be a sparring match... I think? That and catching more Pokes together ;)

@balthazar007 do low/no stake battles with others gain experience for Pokemon? (perhaps different amounts? in the future?)

As long as two users battle, all pokemon used in that battle will gain one experience point. There is no other requirement.

I've updated the OOC post with all the currently approved locations, but I can't seem to locate any posts about Stillwater in either my PM history or the IC tab. I do however remember a passing memory of seeing a new location proposal with this name somewhere. Maybe you posted it in the OOC section? Can you please PM me a copy for final approval?

Welcome!

This RP is a continuation of the RP known as Pokemon: New World. This RP will take over for the old one starting on January the 9th. For veterans of this RP, you know why I've chosen that date specifically. There should be no posting in the IC section or Characters section of this RP until that date. Anyone may post in te OOC section however, if you would like to give your feedback before launch.

All content created in the original RP, Pokemon: New World, will be transferable to this RP starting on January the 9th. This includes all characters and their stats, creation points, locations, and organizations.

There will however be some change to the structure of these things; so there will be some things you'll need to edit upon transfer. The majority of the changes will come from the welcoming of Pokemon Showdown as our new basis for PvP battling. This change will effect item prices, item availability, Pokemon leveling, and much more. This is the main reason behind creating a separate RP: to work out the details between now and January 9th, without disrupting the flow of the original RP.

To all new potential members and old members alike, feel free to comment in the OOC section of this post if you would like a hand in molding this new and improved version of a well established RP. And to our old members specifically, thank you for all your continued support through the slow times. I'm looking forward to more adventures with you all!

@balthazar007 Sounds good :) I think if everyone keeps track of their own points there shouldn't be any problems (we can monitor if need be...)

If the need should arise where we want/need a doc, however, would you be willing to set that up?

Also, in order to catch up on CP tracking. I would like everyone to PM me with the number of Creation Points that they currently have. Please site the last post that you are counting up to. From that point on, I will keep track of posts strictly for CP purposes. This shouldn't be difficult, as I won't actually have to read the posts. I'll just be counting posts by each user.
