SALSA VERDE

▅▅▅▅austin | ♏︎ | he/him | 28 | vegan

Hi, I’m Salsa Verde, arguably the best salsa and formally known as the writer, Syn. I’m a Wildlife Biologist traveling the country looking to work with the coolest: herps, mammals, birds, and invertebrates I can get my hands on. I also like plants, trees, and fungi specifically. I’ve been writing for about 13 years now and recently decided to get back into it. I enjoy anything from casual to high roleplay, 1x1, and arena. My main genres tend to be anime, SOL, and superhero but I’m really down to participate in anything. And yeah I like all that weeb shit.

What was this familiar feeling? It was almost as if he was flying through the winds as usual, but this time he had no control over his movements and they were not as precise as he usually was. Oh yeah it was all making sense to him, this is what falling feels like. His mind had drifted into the clouds trying to compare the ocular appearance of the purple haired girl to that of the soft clouds above him. He was quite fond of clouds always wanting to reach out and sleep on one, but the closer he got to them the more difficulty he had breathing. Anyways Shizuka snapped backed into reality as he was dangerously close to the interesting girl and saw her cheeks shine red that was odd he hadn’t seen such a color in his cheeks before. Anyways she had a vice like grip on his signature red threads which must have been why he was falling. Maybe she had tripped on something and that’s why she held onto him, whatever it was Shizuka thought quickly as he calmly let out a current of air from his palms propping him up, but from anyone else it appeared as they were both fighting to find balance.

Shizuka was uncannily calm in tight situations like this, if he hadn’t been he probably would have fallen into her and smothered her to death or grabbed onto some weird anime trope like position. Before she could fall into him she leapt back and regained her footing, but Shizuka was more worried about patting down his track suit and getting any dirt or debris off himself. Shizuka began to walk towards her again getting closer but not as close as before. “Did you trip on something? I would have caught you know. And why does your face do that?” he pointed, despite his parents telling him how rude it was. “They turn red and then go back to normal. Can you teach me how to do it?” Shizuka pushed up on his cheeks hoping they would turn read to no avail. “Oh I didn’t think you were deaf but that’s good to know, I’m Shizuka Ichimi! Nice to meet you cloudy eyes, I like cloud they’re my favorite, I could look at them all day.” Shizuka said with a kind smile and his hand stretched out, Shizuka didn’t know the weight of his words, but he only meant to compliment the girl instead of insult her depending on how it was received.

“Oh that’s so cool! But how do you see? I can feel the wind so maybe I can wear a mask too and we can go around fighting crime.” Shizuka’s childish amusement pouring out of his body. “Oh so you’re a blind ninja! That’s way cooler, well that just means we’ll have to help each other out more.” Giving her a thumbs up. Shizuka was about to talk about their final member but Kurin had interjected so his mouth was just left agape. Shizuka loosely followed whatever the stick boy said as he always seemed so uptight and rigid, not like Shizuka had gone with the flow of life like a cool breeze. Almost like a ninken some ninja’s used to track, Shizuka caught the scent of the other ninja that would be recruited to their team as the Senju pointed him out. Without a word Shizuku once again tore at Kurin’s arm lifting him and with the other arm took Kiku’s hand into his, embarking on their short trip to their final member.

Konohagakure | Hokage | Duality-nin

TIME: Present Day - Morning | LOCATION: Konohagakure - Exam Stadium, Club Deck | INTERACTION: @Odin [@Everyone]

The Hokage was quite fond the reception he had received from the massive wave of Shinobi that had joined the stage with him. It appeared as though they had gone off in attempts to pair each other off. Social interaction was good and the intermingling with the ninja from Iwagakure also served as a culture shock to most of the leafs ninja who hadn’t gone past the borders of the Land of Fire. Breaking the mold of what they had perceived other nations to be like was good for breaking any biased or xenophobia any of the young impressionable ninja had, whether it was nurture or nature. A few minutes passed by the Hokage had grown content watching teams finally begin to form and decided on which scroll they would uphold. Clearing his throat once more he interrupted the young Shinobi to speak one more. “I can see that some of you have completed the prerequisites of continuing onto the next portion of examination and I commend you for that. While the others lag slightly behind I’d like to inform you a new scroll will be administered since there are more teams then there were scrolls. The last scroll will be that of Yin and Yang.” Ginsho looking around to see the reactions set in.

To his surprise the only reaction he would receive is his own, before he could even continue a team had already taken on the mantle of the new scroll. Ginsho chuckling at the spirit that had been kindled in each and every one of these ninja, took a step back and continued. “I will now leave the rest up to my lovely assistant here, he will be your guide and carefully watch over each group, as will I but from the booth as I see to my guest and your peers. I do bid you young ninja good luck and may the best group win. And for those of you who are choosing to fight instead, remember if you’re not first you’re last.” Ginsho turned and walked away from the students before a gust of wind came by and he disappeared into a cluster of leaves.

Shinko bowed and walked towards the ninja before appearing within the center of each adjacent team. Several hand seals later Shinko slapped the ground releasing a plume of smoke before standing. He waved to each of the ninjas before fading away himself. Quite the mysterious and cryptic fellow, most likely filling the young ninja’s with questions. Before they could resume their conversations the ground began to glow underneath the feet of each ninja. A myriad of circles appeared underfoot in a selection of colors with kanji etched below them with the Kanji of their respective choices. The light was blinding before it vanished, with it the location of where the Shinobi once stood.

With the vision returning to the young ninja they would soon discover they were in a small white room, there were no windows only 6 walls all around with a slit in the wall in front of them that appeared to be an exit. Unable to properly evaluate and anticipate their location the ninja would have to quickly find their bearings in unfamiliar territory. A subtly pleasant music note played within the box before a familiar voice echoed around the room. ”This is the Hokage if you hadn’t already put that together. You’ve been transported to a far off land you have never heard of or visited, here you and only the several other ninja you recruited will participate in this stage of which scroll you selected. The test immediately begins when you remove the paper seal on the door associated with the chakra nature you chose. If you fail the exam you will lose points and have a smaller chance of becoming a jonin. Do not worry about the other teams as they are in identical rooms, but on different islands so there is no chance of crossing paths. Good luck to you all and Audaces fortuna favent.” Ginsho’s voice quickly fading.

Ginsho had appeared outside the doors of the spectator’s club section for the games. Everything up until this point was going grand, aside from the itching feeling he got from a weary presence he felt out on the stage. It was probably just his phantom pain acting up again, he needed to get a better handle on that. One of his genin had informed of the arrival of Lady Kaguya, Ginsho was familiar with her and yet always strove to please her and let it be known there was a long standing peace and opportune alliance to be gained from the two. Ginsho prepping a smile pushed the doors open with his one arm and entered the room regal with grace. His eyes quickly adapted to the light allowing him to see the elegance and prim demeanor that Kaguya wore so flawlessly. A simple bending of the knee and kissing of the hand would surely begin things off on the right foot. That was until he saw him

Ginsho’s other arm screamed and seared in pain as he made eye contact with what seemed to be a ghost of his past returned to haunt him. Without showing any sign of weakness whatsoever as he was conditioned to he stabbed himself with chakra to ease his pain. Ginsho felt the familiar sense of uneasiness he felt outside, but was it the same? No they were two distinct feelings, the first one however seemed more trying. Returning to his prior engagement Ginsho strode across the room, “Ah if it isn’t Yogensha Kaguya in all of her beauty and elegance. I am nothing but unworthy of your presence and presence here today. I hope all is well and we can continue our discussions for an Alliance and expanding Amegakure. May I?” Ginsho said as he bowed and then kneeling down with his arm stretched out in order to receive her hand.

Konohagakure | Chūnin | Breezy-nin

TIME: Present Day - Morning | LOCATION: Konohagakure - Exam Stadium | INTERACTION: @LadyinInk @Reflection

Ninja’s poured in almost as if there was a bottleneck effect transpiring at the gates of the exam. One by one a new face Shizuka had never seen before entered, he never really cared to remember any of the faces of even ninja from his village, well that wasn’t from lack of trying, but rather out of sheer ignorance. Although it seemed like the Iwa ninja, who spoke funny as if there was something stuck in their nose, had an entourage as another girl entered the scene and spoke in the same way as the one who had been antagonizing the uptight Senju boy and the dumb leaf old lady. Whatever it was it seemed the two iwa ninja’s were antagonizing the two, but Shizuka was more focused on the pinnacle of all life which was the purity that lied in womens panties. The snow white glisten that emanated from under Hime’s dress sent a rush of euphoria into Shizuka’s ever perplexing mind.

However Shizuka seemed rather sad, no one had been paying him any attention nor did they seem to notice the death of his strudel who had by now been trampled with dust and dirt. Had he not made a grand enough entrance? No, that couldn’t have possibly been it he shot out a gust of wind that would sprawl out a normal human. Was he not loud enough in his introduction? No! He had made his presence known with a commanding introduction, he even stuck his hand out in greeting! Slowly the spark started to illuminate the light bulb in his head. More and more juice flooded his head until the light bulb shattered completing his thought process. Shizuka snapped in having discovered his epiphany. “That’s right I don’t have boobs!” he exclaimed. Although that was more than likely not the answer, they most likely ignored him dude to how easy people found him to be ignorable for how annoying and loud he was. Shizuka however, was none the wiser.

“Hmm maybe if I learn a jutsu that gives me boobs or makes me a girl, I think I know someone from the leaf that knows that ability. But the Senju is a boy, so maybe I need to learn how to keep a stick in my butt too.” Shizuka clearly talking to himself, but in an audible volume where anyone around him could hear. Rumia had made a rude gesture in the direction that was clearly meant for him. “Huh I wonder why she’s flipping off the Hokage?” Shizuka shrugged “Must be for the Hokage, Iwa Shinobi sure do have weird customs for different villages.” Just then Shizuka saw the miracle of life occur, a trash can had enveloped his poor strudel and sent it to a proper grave. Without realizing that Kurin had created said trash can, Shizuka without skipping a beat blew into his hands creating the sound reminiscent of a trumpet as he commemorated the honorable service his strudel had served in this cut throat ninja world.

Just then his service was interrupted by the weird senju boy for some reason as he began speaking in his direction while making eye contact. “Rum and Kika? Those are strange names. Iwa is a strange place I wonder why my mom wants me to meet her there. I don’t think I would learn much from them besides their funny voices.” Just then Kurin stopped talking and managed to catch a bottle Rum had dropped “Pretty clumsy eh?” again not knowing who he was addressing. However the Senju keep insisting on claiming Shizuka’s attention, now completely bored and forgetting what he was even doing decided to finally listen to Kurin. “Yes stick boy?!” Shizuka retorted respectfully seeing as Kurin seemed to follow that archetype, despite actually lacking respect. “Oooo a team! What do we need a team for? You want me to be on your team? I’ve never been on many teams they usually kick me out after I blow stuff up. Although I don’t know what you do, but I guess we can change the world.” Shizuka rambled as having completely ignored the Hokage’s message in his grief.

“Yeah team! Leave it to me stick man I’ll find suitable mates for us.” Shizuka patted the Senju’s head, before grabbing him and running on the air towards what he thought would be a suitable partner. Shizuka’s eyes narrowed in focus as he found his next ally despite whether they said no or not, it simply wasn’t an answer he would take, arrogance or stupidity was still left undecided. Even though Shizuka seemed stupid he was always very perceptive and scholarly, despite seeming fixated on his strudel and the ninja in front of him he could feel the air blowing around him as it carried information to him like any passing breeze. This Kunoichi seemed special and she had a special scent to her that made him feel at ease like his mother once did when he was a child. Running at blazing speed with Kurin in tow, Shizuka dashed in front of Kiku, cutting off her designated route.

Breaking immediately Shizuka made sure he was mere centimeters from Kiku’s face as he stared her down. “Why do you wear that mask? You have beautiful eyes, I haven’t seen ones that were so light.” Shizuka was rather abrasive, but he could never tell a lie. “I’m Shizuka and this is stick man. Please be on our team, we’re going to be the environment, right Sticky?” Shizuka turned to ask Kurin half wondering if he had survived their little road trip.

There was no other sight more delightful than that of the vivacious bickering of young ninja. One by one ninja’s from Konoha’s backyard to Iwagakure’s rocky falls came bustling through the gates of the exams. Ginsho kept a careful eye on everyone who came in. Each ninja seemed to gravitate and acclimate to their own surroundings, whatever suited them better. There was the brooding type who seemed weary of others and wanted to stay hidden like a recluse, while others seemed just happy to be there and compete, and then of course there were the…well less savory ninja who had blatant disregard for others and their image. Oh and then of course in a league of his own was the young Shizuka who seemed to entertain himself all the same. However, Ginsho felt a disturbance in the force and could feel a slight, very minor eerie feeling intoxicating the area. Where the precise location was coming from was unbeknownst to him, but his connection with Shinko was strong he confirmed with his right hand without gesturing so much as a look to each other.

Regardless Ginsho would take the necessary precautions to keep the village and his people safe, even the people that had traveled miles to get here. Ginsho propped up his patented smile and cleared his throat before bellowing out his voice which resonated throughout the stands like an oppressive force. The ninja would soon stop their babbling amongst one another if not immediately as that surge of chakra flowed through the arena. “Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, I welcome you to the first ever Jonin Exams. I’m glad to see such new and young faces who will be the bearers and torch runners for the next generation of Shinobi. I’m sure all of you have traveled far some only a few feet, but all have something to prove. Whether it is to yourself or to people who admire or despise you. I know some of you feel alone and think this is just a shallow appearance of savagery amongst children. You wouldn’t be wrong necessarily, but it is necessary in order to protect the ones we love and care about even if you think there are none.” Ginsho said as he surveyed the new ninja class while making eye contact with each and every one of them as his heroic and aggressive spirit shot into their eyes like a window to their soul.

“And of course there are some of you born with gifts and those of you have not. In any case each and every one of you is special in your own way and can be celebrated for the blood, sweat, and tears you have poured into yourself. Let us hope it shines through today.” Ginsho filled his stomach with oxygen before continuing. “Now I will move onto the first of two exams you will see today. The second will only be revealed after you have or have not passed the first test.” Ginsho snapped his fingers as 5 large scrolls appeared hovering behind him, each with a different word etched on the front. Not only did scrolls appear at the front of the stage, but one appeared in each and every participants hand save for that fact they were all blank. “The first exam you will be tasked with the following. Behind me are 5 scrolls that each represent a chakra nature. Earth (Doton), Wind (Futon), Fire (Katon), Water (Suiton), and Lightning (Raiton). You all will assimilate yourselves into 6 teams of whomever and whoever you choose, but there shall be no man left out. Once you have all chosen your teams you will than choose which affinity you want to pursue.” Ginsho began to stride back and forth.

“Upon choosing the affinity you wish to purse you will transcribe it into your scroll and it will be relayed to me. Do not worry the other teams will not know of your choice unless they somehow manage to use resources of their own to find out.” Ginsho laughed before continuing. “After your choice I will personally take you all to the stage in which you and your team chose and will combine your efforts to retrieve the scroll of the affinity you chose. Be wary the affinity in which your objective lies will not be easy to recover. Now there are only 5 scrolls and 6 teams so one team will be disqualified if they are unable to recover a scroll. The rest of the teams who complete their objective and acquire the scroll will pass and move onto the second exam with a surplus of points. The losing team will have to disband and fight amongst themselves in order to move on. Now if there are any ninja who are not team players, you have the option of skipping the first exam and proceed to fight with whomever does not participate alongside you. And you cannot move onto the next stage without emerging victorious.” Ginsho watched over the crowd taking in any reactions he saw from the ninja in front of him as his words reached their ears.

“Now if you have any questions you may ask them now, if not the exam has begun, pick your allies and the scroll that will decide your fate.” Ginsho turned around heading back to the side of his comrade, before quickly turning back momentarily. “Oh and by the way good luck I’m counting on all of you” as his boisterous laughter filled the air and once again shook the stadium.

Shizuka Ichimi

---------------------------------------------------
"EEEERRRRRRR ERRRRRRRRR ERRRRRRRR” The alarm blared making sure Shizuka would wake up early enough in order to prepare for the big day. His blanket shot up as almost a gust of wind had just propelled it to the ceiling. Well that is of course what happened. Shizuka shot straight up disoriented from his deep slumber being disturbed by this cursed magical red box. He did quite have a fetish for all things red. Maybe a little too much of a fetish…His hair had severe cow lick from each side of his head. Restless sleeper he probably violently turned all night. His eyes slowly rolled and smacked open cracking the crust left in his eyes sprinkled on by that careless sandman, it seemed to follow him all the way from Sunagakure, curse him! Shizuka brought one arm up and wiped his mouth that had a thick layer of salvia down the edge of his mouth. That box of boom kept blaring at him with the time clearly outlined, 7:00 am as his blanket elegantly fell back down towards Shizuka crushed his alarm clock as the irritating beep fizzled out into a slow demonic gurgle.

Before the blanket could make land fall Shizuka whisked himself from out of the bed so nimbly. He lived alone as he did for the last four years so he had a routine down pact without worry of his parents or roommates. However in his excitement he skipped a few steps in his daily routine. In a loud yawn and an equally satisfying stretch, Shizuka accidentally let out a gust of wind which forced its way through the window shutters outwards slapping onto the side of the house. Older women gasped, younger women giggled, and everyone else shouted. Shizuka confused suddenly was well aware what had transpired, he had no pants on. Shrugging he closed the shutters and got ready in a breeze. His infamous tracksuit, well only really infamous to himself, perhaps the village was donned. He got his flashy sandals on and secured his scabbard and katana. He had sharpened it on weigh stone the night before to make sure he was fully prepared to go on his adventure.

Shizuka grabbed a quick bite to eat, well he actually had it in his mouth before he hopped into the air and spun his arms beneath him to create a spinning ball of air. Shizuka raced towards the arena knowing the area quite well, he probably could have flown but he really wanted to finish his toaster strudel. As he whipped through the streets cutting in and out of crowds of people whether they were tourist or regulars he made his way to the arena gates, that wasn’t without the occasional expletive he received and angry threats that could be heard from the exams stage. Shizuka saw a few chunin gathered around the stage waiting for the Hokage’s next words. Shizuka only caught the end of it, but he’s seen the old man before so there was nothing new for him to be excited about. Although he was very curious as to why one of them seemed to be drinking at this time of day, maybe it was a medical problem. Anyways Shizuka raced in and jumped off his ball which exploded outwards towards the chunin in front of him.

The gust was strong enough to lift any loose clothing and unsteady someone who was not properly planted into the ground. Shizuka in an exasperated shout waved wildy, “Hey guys, I hope I’m not too late! The old man would have my head for this, although he’d probably tell my parents about this. But I haven’t heard from them in a while so I guess I’m okay. But then what if I get kicked out before I can compete? Hmmmm bummer.” Shizuka contemplated almost completely forgetting about the crowd in front of him, not even taking in that he knew two of the people there. Shizuka then saw the worst horror possible, the fourth calamity of the world, his strudel was on the floor and it had passed the 10 second rule. Shizuka screamed in pain and sorrow his arms quickly rising to grab his hair as he fell to his knees and dry heaved. “Please let us have a moment of silence for my toaster strudel, he was a good strudel.” Shizuka said before getting up and looking at the chunin before him, “My names Shizuka Ichimi, what’s your names?!” a grin from ear to ear appeared while he scratched the back of his head.

Gokiburi "Cockroach"

------------------------------------

A Few Years Ago

The earth has an ecosystem for every environment, each species no matter how revolting or useless is needed to maintain the peace. Gokiburi was the lowest of the low the scum of the ninja world, and he had the appearance to prove it. Gokiburi was a decrepit man, some might not even call him a man but ‘it’ or ‘monster’ whatever the case was he wasn’t loved, by anyone. The disgusting creature some survived the great wars and extinction eras that had ever existed throughout the ninja world. It’s been so long Gokiburi had forgotten the name he was give during birth. He has forgotten a lot of things which was rather the norm for him. The vile creature had only gone by Gokiburi know since he was the embodiment of a cockroach.

Doing as he normally does, Gokiburi watched from the sidelines waiting for the winner’s side to emerge and the wars end to scout for corpses. Not only was he a cockroach but he was a grave robber, any corpse he thought worthy enough he waited for the latest possible moment to scavenge and collect the most sinister and powerful individuals for his collection. Over the years it had grown so vast he had to move from location to location to a base big enough to hold and preserve each of the bodies he had found. Although through the centuries Gokiburi had not hit the jackpot like he did just now, the greatest weapon he would ever discover, SEIJURO NANDATE grimacing with his horrid scowl Gokiburi rubbed his hands together while laughing manically as the rain began to fall and patter as it hit the floor. Thunder rumbled and lighting stretched across the night sky as flashed of light illuminated the once great puppet masters body that was now in tattered pieces.

The cockroach had loaded him and only two puppets since he had no space for the others which had been permanently decommissioned save for the two he found, into a wheel barrel which had been rusted and coated with blood on the inside. Letting out a sickening whistle though his broken teeth and black gums the grave digger returned to his lair finally finding shelter from the storm outside. And so the process began. The cockroach had experimented on everything from the dead to himself to living people he had captured during the war. Gokiburi had loaded seijuro onto his steel table and began stitching. He hobbled from one corner of the room to another gathering his most intact and healthy specimens perfect for a match to Seijuro’s original body. This would be his host body for now, later he could reconstruct himself with his own brilliance, Gokiburi was simply the tool for him to use, and he had finally found his life’s work and purpose. Piece by piece was stitched into Seijuro’s lifeless body until he was a multicolored ragdoll.

With the preparations complete Gokiburi was ready for the final step, his own hiden jutsu perfected during the years of his wretched existence. Gokiburi had ripped open the chest of Seijuro leaving a gapping cavity of maggots and worms wriggling about. Gokiburi lifted himself onto the table before taking his scalpel and slitting both of wrist allowing his blood to flow down into the open cavitiy of Seijuro’s husk. His blood was black and thick coming out slowly and pooling up into almost that of a tar like consistency. After his wrists had healed themselves Gokiburi jumped down and sutured up Seijuro’s chest. Rolling him over back into the wheel barrel, the cockroach returned outside in the storm that had picked up. Working through the night Gokiburi had finally dug a grave large enough for Seijuro and viciously dumped his body inside before pouring the dirt back inside.
The sun had reared its head out the next day slowly waking up Gokiburi before he could look down to the grave of Seijuro. Standing up he walked towards the grave and bent over to look down. Suddenly a hand pierced through the gravel and gripped Gokiburi’s throat in a vice like grip. His eyes popped out of his head as his trachea was being crushed, he could barely form a word. Seijuro rose from his grave, the only thing visible was the light of his eyes, but it wasn’t light, it was fire.

Yesterday

It was the anniversary of the resurrection of his master Seijuro and he had assigned him another critical project. Cockroach was happy to oblige his loving master for he saved his own life that he could have easily taken the night of his revival. Cockroach had massaged his throat still having the imprint of his master’s hands around his throat, he frolicked ahead before he twisted his ankle. Seijuro had gone out to take some sort of business around konoha, funnily enough Gokiburi was in the vicinity. He arrived at the shrine dedicated to the nine tails. Gokiburi smiled in glee as he began tearing cold earth asunder. “Ahh what do we have here Jaakuna Aka? We’ve been waiting for you kek kek” Gokiburi laughing heinously. Just as he did those years before Gokiburi imitated the exact process he had accomplished with Seijuro and made his way back to his lair which proceeded with Jaakuna’s body falling into the earth with a loud thud.

Gokiburi waited and watched as the day ended and the next began. He was smart this time around and just sat patiently far enough away and waited. Gravel moved and a body rose like clockwork, Gokiburi hopped out of his seat cheering in success. His elation for the news to deliver to his master washed over him in waves. “So you’re awake now?”

Go the fuck ahead mate.
Gisho Omawarisan

________________________________________________
Gisho felt himself in the crosshairs of the two Chunin, soon to be Jonin noting their incredible prowess, especially that of the Uchiha who seemed to be sizing him up. Regardless of the Uchiha’s collective notions of the Hokage, he would remain to be the image of peace. Shinko on the other hand had been deceptively quiet as per usual and simply watched the two children in front of him allowing his unsettling aura spill out unintentionally. He met Kyo’s gaze with a hard gaze of his own before breaking. It was clear the two were under duress having just lost their comrade, but they had did exceptionally well to have survived at all, the girl was special.

And then Kyo began to speak. Everyone was so formal with the Hokage, he never wanted people to talk to him like he was better than them. To Gisho everyone was equal and he preferred to be a friend of the people rather than their superior. Gisho could feel nothing but empathy for the young boy simply trying to do what was best for the village, yet self-deprecation was too much a load to handle for one to bear alone at such an age. Children do make the best weapon, but the gravity of it is sometimes too much to bear. Gisho would have to make it his priority to watch Kyo closely and make sure he walks down the path of righteousness as he himself did at his age. As the boy finished his analysis of the field, Gisho started to walk before he stopped when Kyo’s throat jumped and made a foolish request from him.

The girl sprang into action and painted an even clearer picture, it seemed the two were in love, her tone spoke volumes. Gisho exhaled and walked out from around his table eventually making it to the girl, the towering man lowered himself to her height before resting his hand on her shoulder. Gisho let his aura out slowly and gently as he exuded an aura of warmth and assurance knowing full well how she would receive it. “So you’re Senna? You know one of my best friends is from the Akizakura clan? What a woman.” Gisho sighed as his mind wandered elsewhere before he took the reins once again. “The Hokage before me saved her when she was around your age and the rest of your clan. Now I won’t let your teammate here go out on his own.” “But I cannot cancel the exams tomorrow. Shinobi from across the world will be making their way here to compete and that means the two of you aswell. I will assign my best men to this mission and see it to myself when everything is in order. For now you should get some rest for tomorrow and I’ll find your comrade.” Gisho said before standing and walking to meet Kyo.

“Son, you did well you truly are a testament to ninja around the world and uphold the name of your people proudly. What you did today was nothing short of bravery. However you almost confused bravery with foolishness.” Gisho looked directly into Kyo’s weary eyes. “This is no fault of yours, one cannot be held responsible for another’s actions. I cannot allow for you to return to the forest and that is final.” Gisho growing a bit stern. “Now you two return to your homes and rest for tomorrow. I expect you to carry the flame. I will see to the safe return of your friend.”

With that Gisho had the two chunin sent away as he was left alone again with Shinko. His patented smile and heroic aura had faded as it was replaced with solemn brooding. “It’s as I feared.” Gisho uttered, while Shinko simply just nodded and looked into the distance with the Hokage.

The Next Day

It was finally the day of the exam, each of the participants should steadily be making their way to Konoha’s walls. Each of them in position of a letter that the Hokage had written to all ninja’s and villages.

”Hello Ladies and Gentleman, Today marks the day all you blossoming students start the next chapter in your lives. All you bright and talented Shinobi will gather today to shape the future of the Shinobi world. You will carry the legacy of your elders and a fossil like me into the new generation of peace and integrity. I’m sure you will give it your all and make each of your countries proud by becoming Jonin. Please make your way to the Exam Stadium upon your arrival to Konohagakure, I hope you find your stay accommodating and please check out Ichiraku’s Ramen. Yours Truly the Fifth Hokage.”

The Hokage stood in the center of the stadium alongside his assistant as he waited for the fresh young faces to slowly pour in through the stadium doors. With nothing but a large smile plastered on his face and his arm behind his back he grew ecstatic in anticipation.
