Sounds like a blast waiting to be had. Even makes me wanna brush off my copies of WFC and FOC and play them again.

Quick Question: What's your stance on defectors? A bot that started the war as a Decepticon but now finds themselves wearing the Autobot logo or vice versa?

Shh it's supposed to be dramatic. But I'll change my post to fix that if you want.

If you can think of a good reason why it somehow started differently than the others then go ahead and keep it an egg.
@DarkwolfX37 Your Digimon isn't actually supposed to start as an egg. They started as as Rookie/Child level.

Edited in some more details on the setting.
Plot

No one thought it could happen, but it did. The Royal Sisters always had their preferred methods, but never did they clash before. When an unforeseen attack on Canterlot Castle ends with many dead or injured, Princess Luna and Princess Celestia are unable to agree on how the attack should have been handled. After some time passes, the Sisters realize there are quite a few things they do not see eye-to-eye on. In frustration, Princess Luna secedes from Equestria and declares her independence. Equestria soon became divided in two. The Solar Empire, the loyalists who could never betray their beloved Princess; and the Lunar Empire, made up of those who preferred Luna's leadership. Civil War was inevitable at this point. The Sisters now scrambled to garner support from as many sources as they could. Celestia, having been on good terms with Princess Ember of the Dragons was able to secure their considerable aid. Luna, meanwhile, was ale to recruit the support of Griffonstone, Yakyakistan, and the roaming Bison Herd of Apploosa. Only the Crystal Empire remained neutral, Princess Cadence and Shining Armor having no desire to leave their infant daughter and the Crystal Heart unprotected just to take part in a war between two Sisters.

One by one, towns chose sides. Larger cities such as Canterlot and Manehatten remained loyal to Celestia, while the smaller towns such as Ponyville eventually joined sides with Luna. Cloudsdale, like the Crystal Empire, remained neutral - though not for the same reason. Cloudsdale needed to provide weather for all sides, but quickly realized the wealth it stood to gain. They began selling weaponized storm clouds to be used by Pegasus Squadrons on either side, providing a nice boon to Cloudsdale's own economy as a result. Despite being outnumbered, the Lunar Empire proved to have a superior spy network, thanks in large part to Princess Luna's own power. The Dream World proved to be an effective way to gather intelligence. But this did not guarantee an easy victory for the Lunar Empire, in fact, there was hefty losses on both sides.

Nearly six and a half years have passed since the war began. Heroes on both sides have begun to emerge and make a name for themselves. But the war itself appears to have reached a stalemate. Talks and rumors of a ceasefire or peace treaty have begun murmuring throughout both Empires. Neither has been confirmed or denied, but everypony knows that something eventually needs to happen or the Empires will just end up wiping each other out.

The Mane Six

Nations and Cities

That's just a sample of my idea. I'll include details about each of the outside countries and towns within Equestria and what roles they play in the war. I don't know if I want this to be Casual or Advance, so I may leave that up to a vote. But since none of the main cast are actively taking part in the war, that leaves a lot of potential for formerly unknowns (player characters) to shine and make a name for themselves in these events. But before any further discussion can be had, I need to know if anyone's actually interested in this or not.
"OK, let's try not to start hating each other on the first day, yeah?" asked Makoto, somewhat meekly trying to play moderator. Taking charge and going in guns-blazing was something he was good at doing in games, but in real life with actual people? Forget about it. Still, he had say something to prevent a serious argument from happening, especially given how confrontational Haruko had already shown himself to be thus far. A fire alarm sound may have been just the interruption this group needed. Accompanying the loud noise was Pixelmon's shrill voice.

"Cyber Beast! Cyber Beast! It's a Cyber Beast! Right here at D-Connect!" she squealed, her pixelated form bouncing around in a hyperactive manner.

"Can you identify it?" asked Makoto, quick on the draw to get away from the argument-to-be and focusing on something else.

"Sure can! It's Meramon! Try not to touch him or you'll get burned!" Pixelmon's form suddenly darted out of the room toward somewhere outside the building.

"Meramon, huh? Why do I get the feeling there's something she wasn't telling us?" Makoto scooped up his D-Scanner and made for the door himself, "Looks like there's no rest for the wicked, come on let's check it out!"

Outside of D-Connect, there indeed was a Cyber Beast attack in progress. It surely couldn't have been a coincidence that they would target D-Connect almost immediately after Project Destiny was enacted. But that was also impossible, nothing in any of the reports suggested any kind of planning or strategic reasoning for the attacks thus far. Could this one have been the first? At the front of the premises was a tall, fiery humanoid with features that - like the previous Cyber Beast - seemed to be blurred out and hidden in some kind of murky silhouette. Surrounding the perimeter, the Defense Team had already arrived and were in position to cordon off the area while two different firefighting teams were already present to deal with what they suspected would be an inevitable fire breakout.

Among the Defense Team was two men more distinct than the others. Most of the officers were in uniforms reminiscent of American SWAT teams, but not these two. One was formal attire, a dark brown longcoat worn over it to keep himself warm in the cool air, while the other looked a lot more casual, his leather jacket and dark colored pants making him look more like a biker than an officer. But both men had flashed their badges, proving they were indeed genuine officers. They both looked to the Tamers once they emerged from D-Connect and looked to be talking among themselves.

"That's them? They really are just kids." said Officer Honda Owada, the man in the leather jacket. He sounded irritable, his voice deep and gruff. Or perhaps he was just having a bad day? Apparently he wasn't present at the previous Cyber Beast attack. His partner, the other man, was.

"I was surprised, too. But they're the ones Kuroda picked. Not much we can do about it but support them as best we can." he was the man in the long coat, Superintendent Shinnosuke Ichijou, the officer chosen to lead this task force meant to support the Tamers, while Owada was his partner and right hand man. Unlike Owada, Ichijou was calm and seemed to be able to keep his cool even in the midst of a Cyber Beast attack.

The Cyber Beast - Meramon - seemed to sense the arrival of the Tamers and immediately lashed out against them with a gout of flames from his hands. It was a slow enough attack that the Tamers had moments to dive out of the way and safely out of the fire's reach. But something was off about this fire. In fact, all the fires that Meramon set was not a natural fire at all. Small flaming spheres seemed to emerge from the flames and began acting as minions for Meramon.

"What the? Pixelmon, what are they?" it was Makoto, already aiming his D-Scanner and pulling the trigger to release Commandramon.

"DemiMeramon! His fires are summoning DemiMeramon to help him fight!"

"Why can't it ever be easy?" Makoto then took a deep breath before pushing his hair, his demeanor changing again and his tone once more confident and prideful, "Commandramon's rifle should let us handle the small ones, so you two go ahead and focus on Meramon himself!"

Let me offer a bit of an explanation for what he's saying, because I'm the one who actually suggested it:

Has anyone seen Sliders? If so, then me mentioning that show explains everything to you simply enough. If not, then the plot of Sliders is strikingly similar to this RP. A group of people dimension hopping through different versions of Earth. The only difference is that the Sliders cast all originated from the same Earth (which for the purposes of setup was the default "Real" Earth, as in identical to Real Life) whereas our cast of characters was plucked from multiple Earths. Us all starting on the same Earth is meant to give us a more timely and structured beginning. Less time is spent searching for and gathering us together, and whatever version of Earth we start on is considered the de facto "default" Earth that serves as the baseline for which all the others can follow. Another thing Sliders makes regular use of is having the characters run into different versions of the same people from time to time, including themselves. I suggested framing the story this way because Letter told me he wanted to not have any fictional worlds and have them all simply alternate histories with no fictional basis (so no Panem, no Madoka Magica, etc).

I do understand such a suggestion requires some character tweaking and rewrites for most of us, so I don't blame anyone for being apprehensive to the idea.
@Letter Bee

I already gave you my vote in private, but to reiterate: I'll go along with whatever you decide.
