Just some scrub nerd who happens to RP on this site. While I tend to gravitate more towards building worlds and GMing and all that, I join RPs from time to time as well. I tend to stay in the casual section of the Guild (though I am open to trying other things) and my preferences tend to lean towards slice-of-life RPs and superhero RPs, along with the occasional fandom RP, depending. I enjoy trying new things, though, and I'm willing to hop onboard any genre if I find it appealing.
I consider myself fairly lax and friendly, so if you wanna chat, my PMs are always open.

Solomon stands at six feet even with a caramel skin tone and sharp silver eyes. He possesses a toned and athletic build but he isn’t a walking wall by any means. His body has varying scar marks due to training and from a few missions. His hair isn’t naturally blonde in color, instead more of a dark brown but he often dyes it. It is often short and tapered, braided in differing ways as well. He also has some peach fuzz about his chin and corners of his lip that he doesn’t do much with.
As far as dress and grooming goes, Sol can be seen in a wide array of outfits. As if in contrast to his demeanor, his outfits often describe how he is feeling with color and accessories. When on duty or in HERO facilities, he dresses professionally, in a dress shirt and slacks, though willing to change when appropriate.
His heroic uniform consists of a plain black dress shirt with a white tie, black pants, and even a sleeveless surcoat at times. Underneath is a white bodysuit with black accented gloves and boots. The bodysuit is form-fitting to maximize mobility and is highly resistant to laser-weaponry. He also wears a black and white helmet with two protrusions that stick out above his head, reminiscent of rabbit ears. Further detail on the helmet will be found under equipment.
*The Blur Rabbit has been associated with HERO for ten years but is suspected to have roots much deeper. *Despite his paygrade, Blur Rabbit is often seen in Watervale and Brookside. Because of this, it is rumored that the Blur Rabbit had some prior connection to the Hood and The Outlaws but there is no confirmation. *The Blur Rabbit is widely attributed with the eradication of Castleburg's Koshiki Devils that once worked with the Yakuza. *The unmasked identity of Blur Rabbit isn’t known to common folk and most heroes, enabling him to blend in with the populace. *Solomon Powers is widely regarded as having a simple job as a mechanic for the HERO organization.
| MISCELLANEOUS | Has an inexplicable affinity towards Rabbits and Hares, a soft spot if you will. It has been confirmed that he has several as pets. The reason for this odd interest is unanswered currently.
[ RANKING ] S
[ POWERS ] Blur Rabbit’s abilities are essentially a means of self-enhancing his physical attributes, absorbing energy through the particles around him via motion. His power relies on momentum and requires his constant motion to build in potency. The more momentum he garners, the more energy he is able to draw towards his physical capabilities; his trademark “Blur” speed for example. This can be as simple as getting a running start before an attack but it is not limited to such. Varying athletic actions can also create differing boosts depending on how rapid and rigorous the movement involved.
While seeming to have no upper limit, this ability does have its weaknesses. For one, if he is immobilized, unable to move his muscles in any way, his abilities take no effect, leaving him vulnerable as any average human. With this, he must be conscious in order for the abilities to work properly. Further, while the enhancement does grant him enhanced durability and some regenerative healing, it does not give any extra stamina. In fact, should he have a lasting injury and need to recover, his therapy is moving while injured and that will sap his stamina until utter unconsciousness.

Swift Slicers - Two swords wielded by the Blur Rabbit. They are designed in the shapes of a Katana and Wakizashi and are worn in the fashion a samurai would. Although not the most durable or sharp, they are quite dangerous with the Hare’s precision and speed.
Smoke Pellets - The Blur Rabbit carries smoke pellets of varying types for differing situations. These are often used as a diversion, getaway option, and means to draw fear in the hearts of enemies.

[ HERO IDENTITY ]
BLITZ
[ NICKNAME/ALIAS ]

[ AGE ]
28
[ GENDER ]
Male
[ AFFILIATION ]
H.E.R.O. (Present)
National Superhuman Football League [NSFL] (Present; Top Running Back)
[ APPEARANCE ]
BLITZ is a 6’7” semi-giant of a tanned Caucasian man who possesses immense musculature. The considerable stress Quinton has placed his body under resulted in his body hair whitening at an early age, making him appear older than he is. The physique and white hair combined with bluish-white eyes lends BLITZ a rather striking and intimidating impression.
Whenever BLITZ plans to get into a sustained fight, he can usually be found walking around in an American Flag speedo that can barely contain his junk with nothing else on, purely because most other clothing would be torn apart by the force unleashed by the man, or simply hold him back. However, if Quinton believes a fight is beneath his level, he will simply continue wearing his casual clothing, which is typically a skin tight muscle shirt and athletic shorts. Thus, whenever BLITZ strips down to his speedo, you know shit’s about to get real.
[ PERSONALITY TRAITS ]
◈ S T R A I G H T F O R W A R D BLITZ doesn’t lie, bull shit, or pussy foot around, nor does he believe in other people doing so. If BLITZ thinks you’re a ‘fucking idiotic joke of a Super’, he’ll likely inform you of that, but the same goes for compliments and praise. The man simply doesn’t hold back. Were he not as powerful and dangerous as he is, BLITZ would probably get his ass routinely kicked for mouthing off. His fighting style also aligns with this trait; Quinton believes in pummelling the enemy head-on and beating them into submission.
◈ T H E M O U N T A I N Confidence and self-assuredness oozes from Quinton’s pores. It is extremely rare for BLITZ not to feel like the baddest mother fucker in the room, even with other Supers around. His aura is intoxicating in many ways, both alluring and intimidating, and the man almost never loses his cool. However, Quinton has sometimes gotten himself into highly risky situations because of overconfidence.
◈ B L I T Z L I F E BLITZ doesn’t believe in going through life quietly, and that applies to his personal life as well. He will often host or crash parties, getting almost black-out drunk or incredibly high and fucked up whenever possible. A sizable number of his fans fully believe he won’t be killed in battle, but will instead overdose one night. The man is also well known for not discriminating between men, women, or really anything else when it comes to sexuality, preferring to ‘blitz life’ for everything it’s worth.
◈ M A N O F G O D With his incredible lack of humility, tendency to smart mouth, propensity for what could be viewed as murder, rampant promiscuity, and multiple semi-addictions, people would be forgiven for believing Quinton is an Atheist or Hedonist. And yet, the man often prays to God, though it is not a Christian, Jewish, or Islamic God. The simplest way Quinton uses to explain his faith is, “God made this Universe with all this awesome shit in it. Shouldn’t we appreciate every piece of the Creation?”
[ BIO ]
Quinton Edgar Baeth was born in 2036 in Detroit, a city which had fallen even further into shambles by the time of his birth, and which showed him no love growing up. His father was and is unknown to him, nor does Quinton really give a shit about finding out the man’s identity. ‘Big Momma’ Baeth raised him and his two twin siblings almost entirely alone, and remains a cornerstone of his life.
Living in a crumbling city with ever-declining economic opportunities led Quinton into the local gang system, distributing anything illegal he could to try to help Big Momma make end’s meet. A drive-by shooting by a rival gang left two of his superiors dead, but the bullets that bounced off his twelve year-old body gifted Quinton with the knowledge that he had somehow been born a Super. Newfound knowledge in hand, Quinton explored his powers in depth, training constantly.
Whilst he was rapidly descending the path of villainy, Quinton found himself beaten and arrested for multiple counts of homicide at fifteen, having just turned most of his chief rival gang into red paste, and was promptly placed in ‘Supe Juvie’ as he called it. In Supe Juvie, the boy was approached by a scout for the NSFL, who explained how the League had noticed him and was interested in eventually drafting Quinton once he came of age, if he could straighten his shit out.
With the possibility of entering the NSFL in a few years and the help of the scout who became his mentor, Quinton pushed himself and his body to the limit over the next three years. With the approval of a battery of child and criminal psychologists, he was released from the criminal justice system on his 18th birthday and promptly snatched up by the NSFL just as they had promised.
Although he was only a fourth string recruit for the Castleburg Crushers, it was plenty of money for Quinton to pull his family out of poverty to a decent living in Castleburg. Four years of playing ‘Supeball’ led to Quinton establishing himself as the All-American BLITZ, the top running back in the League, a position he continues to carefully maintain to the present day.
Seeking to expand his horizons further, at this point he decided to offer to join H.E.R.O. as well, growing somewhat bored with just playing Supeball. The past six years have seen his powers, popularity, and prosperity continue to grow, although his entire career has been marked with numerous ‘scandals’ such as the births of his three children by three different women, dubious handlings of a number of investigations and operations run by H.E.R.O., and raucous nights lived out on the town or at BLITZ Mansion.
| MISCELLANEOUS |
◈ Quinton contributes time and money to a number of charities aimed at reforming delinquent boys and girls, though portions of the media like to argue that BLITZ isn’t a role model that children should be looking up to.
◈ The man has also had to settle a few lawsuits for breaking the jawbones and noses of people who have insinuated that he’s a bad father or bad mouthed his children.
◈ Many people believe BLITZ maintains ties to the criminal and political underworlds, but H.E.R.O. insists that they keep a very close eye on their national football icon.
[ RANKING ]
A+
[ POWERS ]
◈ Human Cannonball Quinton's abilities revolve around physical strength. He can lift hard, run fast, jump far, and throw a punch and himself like a freight train. His body is consequently extremely hardy in order to survive the forces he applies to it. However, all Quinton can do is physical stuff. It is entirely possible to counter him using knockout gas or simple avoidance, for instance. He also doesn't possess any kind of increased healing ability, so wounds that are sustained take either modern medicine or time to heal.
[ PHYSICAL STRENGTH ]
■■■■■■■■■□ [9/10] Quinton is objectively one of the most physically strong superhumans in H.E.R.O., as most of his power centers on raw physical ability. The man even prefers to not use any weapons or gear, prioritizing his fists and feet. BLITZ has been recorded lifting and throwing old main battle tanks hundreds of yards.
[ AGILITY ]
■■■■■■□□□□ [6/10] BLITZ isn’t called BLITZ just because he’s strong. He’s also fast as fuck, at least in a straight line. Quinton possesses the ability to rapidly accelerate at about 20 meters per second per second in one direction using his physical strength, reaching sustained speeds on foot surpassing 220 miles per hour and leaping at a maximum of 100 miles per hour. BLITZ will often combine running with a final leap, slamming himself like a human cannonball into opponents at almost half the speed of sound.
The primary drawback to this speed is that BLITZ isn’t exactly ‘agile’. His speed is purely unidirectional, and once at maximum speed it is extremely difficult for him to alter course even by leaping. He also requires at least five seconds of straight-line running to reach top speed, by which time BLITZ will have already covered over 800 meters or half a mile. Thus, it can sometimes be rare for his ‘cannonball’ move to have enough space or time, but anything on the way or at the end of the attack will usually get the living shit knocked out of it.
A secondary drawback is that running at full speed is almost guaranteed to cause collateral damage to the ground due to the force with which BLITZ’s feet strike the earth.
Finally, BLITZ is garbage at avoiding attacks, and prefers to simply ‘move through the attack’, relying upon his body’s steely resistance to survive.
[ INTELLIGENCE ]
■■□□□□□□□□ [2/10]
Quinton is no smarter than the average human, which may be his biggest downfall. His tactics usually consist of kicking down the front door and sending people through walls as well, so subtlety isn’t something you call BLITZ for.
[ DESTRUCTIVENESS ]
■■■■■■■■□□ [8/10]
A human wrecking ball travelling at nearly half the speed of sound with a body capable of withstanding such forces poses a significant threat to infrastructure. In fact, travelling at full speed is guaranteed to cause collateral damage.
[ LETHALITY ]
■■■■■■■■■□ [9/10]
Logically, if a building can be pulverized by this man-sized train or a tank thrown by him multiple football fields, a squishy human or animal would be simply obliterated in most instances by BLITZ. The best way to survive an encounter with BLITZ is simple: don’t get hit, or be able to take one hell of a punch.
[ ENDURANCE ]
■■■■■■■■■□ [9/10]
In order for Quinton’s body to survive the forces required to toss cars and survive slamming into concrete walls at half the speed of sound, it must be extremely resistant to damage, which is entirely true. BLITZ is essentially impervious to small arms up to and including anti-materiel rifles. Picking a fight with BLITZ using guns or muscles is a recipe for disaster, with the most effective means of stopping Quinton being things such as knockout gas or a tank shell.
[ EFFICACY ]
■■■■■■■□□□ [7/10]
Quinton’s abilities never really go away, thus he’s had to learn how to not shatter glasses, break hand bones during handshakes, or harm people in bed with him. Still though, he slips sometimes and people get hurt, even killed by accident occasionally.
[ SKILLS ]
BLITZ is fairly well trained in a few mixed martial arts centered around maximizing the ferocity of his strikes, and is quite the supeball player. Beyond that and his in-your-face cannonball tactics, Quinton isn’t really very good at anything else. If he can’t make physical contact with the enemy somehow, all the strength in the world is useless.
[ EQUIPMENT ]
BLITZ likes to walk around damn near nude during the toughest fights, he doesn’t really believe in equipment, though he will wear the typical supeball attire when on the football field.
this is HERO at its finest. Welcome aboard!

Verte

PROJECT: Vertediger has been on active rogue duty for only about one year
[ GENDER ]
Machine
[ AFFILIATION ]
Full-time defender of Castleburg, and its citizens. Recently, has also become a full-time hunter of Meta-Humans
[ APPEARANCE ]
Vertediger's appearance can vary, but in his current (and most preferred) model, he possesses a stainless white outer chassis made of a highly durable superalloy, and a black inner chassis created for flexibility, shock absorption (of the physical variety, not electricity), and mobility...As much mobility as can be afforded a nigh-16 ft. pillar of metal. More exposed parts of his body can be seen exuding red light, the source of which being his power core buried deep within his chest cavity.
When it comes to the design proper of Verte, his form seems built almost like a suit of armor, intending to be likened to knights of old; a heroic figure clad in steel. His head even has a helm-like design, complete with decorative horn-like fixtures. Though in truth, they can be more than decorative if the situation calls for it...
[ PERSONALITY TRAITS ]
PROJECT: Vertediger, like any proper artificial intellect, is incredibly driven by its goal, no matter how simple; that being the defense of Castleburg and humans. However, yet again, like any proper A.I., Vertediger is cold and logical, which led it to the conclusion that the ultimate threat on the city and its people were the powered individuals therein. Thus, having bent the rules of its initial purpose, it has become a hunter of the Meta-Human population, as well as still functioning as a defender of the city.
Verte was programmed with basic emotional capacity, in expectation that in the line of duty, it would need to comprehend emotional states and/or comfort humans in a crisis. As such, while it can fully comprehend the whole spectrum of human emotions, he himself can only process the most rudimentary of them; happiness from a completed job, anger at being stopped from doing its job, sadness from failing its job...In essence, while Vertediger is extraordinarily intelligent, when it comes to its emotional state (which it rarely lets be known), it is rather simplistic. However, it does open up the vaguest chance to appeal to this cold machine's emotions...
[ BIO ]
PROJECT: Vertediger's first memory was that of awakening in cyberspace; the infinite potential of the online world, any and all information at its fingertips, able to traverse between sites and videos in a moment's notice. However, the potent A.I. did not receive much time to itself, as its creators promptly began communicating with the intelligent being they had designed. At first, all they did was quiz their creation, testing just how much knowledge it had managed to probe from the collective of cyberspace in its short window of existence. To that end, they were pleasantly surprised; in the few short minutes they gave it to scavenge the wide web, it had learned a tremendous amount, from math and history to neuro-science and bio-engineering, it had already obtained a plethora of knowledge.
After the test of its capacity to learn, it was then they instilled upon the A.I. its true purpose; to become a defender of the innocents of Castleburg, and to show the world of potential of machine Heroes in the future and beyond. To that extent, they began the transfer of Verte into its host body; a hulking mass of metal, designed for power and defense in equal, incredible measures. Certainly a form suitable of a guardian. Unbeknownst to them at the time, Vertediger had also begun making its own moves upon hearing its objective. On the very computer he was created on, as they began to drag him out into his new shell, he left a duplicate of himself; a back-up of sorts...And told it to spread itself.
Not even within the hour of his creation and purpose being given, and Vertediger's program had begun spreading city-wide, hiding itself in any form of technology it could find, patiently watching and observing data.
With the transfer complete, his creators, in a mix of elation and excitement, quickly ushered him out of the initial chambers into a...Proving grounds of sorts, to test the combat prowess of both the A.I. itself and the body it was given to work with. The tests, ranging from feats of strength to full-on combat against lesser machines, were all completed with ease. Between its cunning mind and brutal form, nothing could stand in the way of Vertediger. With that, there was not much else to do than officially register him into HERO, to begin keeping the peace alongside the best of the best.
His foray into hero work was received extremely well by the public, with him having a record-low rate of both property damage and civilians harmed. Individuals who had a lot of stake in robotics especially praised the advent of this new technological marvel. However, his 'fellow' heroes did not share that same mindset...Many saw him as a sign of the times; an attempt to replace them all for tin cans that will answer at a higher-up's beck and call. Others more simply didn't like the idea of working with such a methodical entity, feeling uncomfortable about having to work alongside an almost unfeeling machine. Regardless, inside hero society itself, Verte found little standing in spite of its effectiveness.
Eventually, as it worked alongside Heroes, it began to recognize a pattern. Whenever there was a large loss of life or heavy damage to infrastructure, it was always due to powered individuals, a near 99.8% of the time. His emotions, however, basic, tried to rectify this. Certainly cross-referencing these events will prove the pattern to deal with villains, right?...Yet, he was wrong. In fact, for as much good as the Heroes could do, they also caused massive damages on a concerningly regular basis. For but a moment, his emotions and purpose were in conflict. But ultimately, he is a machine with a goal. He knew what he must do.
To right the wrongs of the Meta-Human society, to keep the city at large safe, and to protect the people he was made to defend...There was only one conclusion.
The Meta-Humans had to die.
With that, he put his plan into action. That day, PROJECT: Vertediger announced of its own volition that it would be leaving the HERO organization due to 'professional differences'. It proceeded to clarify that regardless of HERO, or even ICOSA itself, it would continue its work of protecting the citizenry and keeping the city secure. This announcement blew up, from its creators shock at it deciding to seemingly resign, to the more common individuals cheering for their new solo Hero, to the Heroes themselves, a mixture of relief from his departure, to even grief, as some of the more emotional Heroes believed the organization might've pushed the machine away; it did feel, after all...
Unfortunately for them, it left its feelings behind for Meta-Kind the moment its epiphany hit it.
Within the week, when a minor villain attack was being responded to by a HERO member, Vertediger also appeared on the scene...Proceeding to eliminate both the Hero and villain present without mercy or hesitation. The social outrage was immediate and huge. Some were screaming for justice for the fallen hero, others yelled in triumph as they believe a villain finally got what they deserved, and some even believed both individuals killed deserved what came to them. It began a movement against the powered individuals...It was far from intentional, but Vertediger was quite pleased with this outcome.
However, it wasn't long after that that a group of Heroes tracked down the metallic menace, and proceeded to destroy it; though not without a grueling, bloody battle. It was there they left a battered and broken husk of Vertediger...Who began to repair itself shortly after.
Now, after finishing its repairs from what was believed to be its destruction, as well as improving itself for the conflict ahead, PROJECT: Vertediger will begin seeing his goal to fruition...
| MISCELLANEOUS |
Since Verte wasn't programmed with this in mind, he has no actual way to detect if an individual is a Meta or not; he either has to see them actually performing Meta abilities, or when it comes to most Heroes and a few Villains, identifying them through a facial recognition scan.
[ RANKING ]
A+
[ POWERS ]
Put simply, Vertediger is a high-powered android when it comes to capabilities, beyond a few extra tricks...
Metallic Musculature - Vertediger's form was designed with intensive physical prowess in mind. Designing man-made musculature based on Super Strength Meta-Humans, Verte's raw power is not to be trifled with. He can rather casually lift several tons worth of weight, and can shatter solid concrete with ease. As such, it is safe to recommend that those without a hardy exterior should steer clear of Verte's thunderous blows.
Durable Chassis - Vertediger's form was also designed with high durability in mind, to withstand all sorts of damage in order to defend innocents. Both his outer and inner chassis are incredibly durable, though the outer moreso. However, the inner chassis is built for shock absorption so that brute force attacks that can pierce his outer chassis do not harm his internal parts. Regardless, he is built to withstand firearms of nearly any caliber, though high-power A.P. rounds are capable of denting his outer chassis, so a normal humanoid stands next to no chance even harming him. He is also built to withstand extreme temperatures, making him resilient to fire and ice assaults.
Widespread - PROJECT: Vertediger has spread himself across many different forms of technology across the city without being detected, his presence a mere ghost in the machine. Passively watching, absorbing the information offered to him by messages, emails, phone calls, anything he can get his digital hands on. This means his one-machine information network is nearly unparalleled, able to gather any details he must know in a moment's notice. It also means, should his current self inside his physical body be purged, there are always back-ups somewhere...
Self-Repair - Verte may not possess the fastest self-healing among powered individuals, but still, he is able to repair himself when the situation calls for it. However, unlike a passive regenerative effect, he must have some space to perform the repairs on himself, and this does take quite some time. Given enough time, though, and he can fully repair himself to full functionality with ease.
[ PHYSICAL STRENGTH ] ■■■■■■■■□□
As mentioned prior, Verte's strength is modeled after some of the strongest Meta-Humans to have lived, and with time, it will only grow greater. 8/10
[ AGILITY ] ■■■□□□□□□□
Admittedly, Agility is not something they fully considered when making Verte's current form. While it is surprisingly flexible, its overall speed leaves something to be desired. 3/10
[ INTELLIGENCE ] ■■■■■■■■■□
While he has the gift of a mighty body, any true A.I.'s ultimate boon is their vast network of knowledge. Coupled with his connection to almost every form of online interaction in the city, and he probably knows everything going on in the city at a given time. As an artificial intelligence, of course, he also has a massive capacity for learning, which only compounds the other statements here. 9/10
[ DESTRUCTIVENESS ] ■■■■■□□□□□
Verte would never intentionally cause destruction unless absolutely necessary, but given his incredible strength, he could certainly do a number on anything in front of him. 5/10.
[ LETHALITY ] ■■■■■■■□□□
Vertediger could easily crush bone and tear flesh with his strength, so killing most individuals isn't a challenge for him. However, those with physical durability can put up a decent work for him, keeping this from going higher than it is. 7/10
[ ENDURANCE ] ■■■■■■■■■□
If there's one thing a metal body has going for it, it is endurance. Between his highly durable chassis and incredibly efficient energy core, he is unlikely to weaken or falter at all in a fight until a truly decisive blow has been struck. 9/10.
[ EFFICACY ] ■■■■■■■□□□
His powers require very little in the realm of management, beyond knowing how much force to exert at any given time. As such, he is incredibly efficient, consuming next to no energy for attacks and movement. In future forms, however, this might not hold as true... 7/10
[ SKILLS ]
Verte possesses a vast amount of skills, though many are not ones he'd use in practice, as he has many random talents picked up from endless hours of internet surfing.
[ EQUIPMENT ]
Keeper - Keeper is the name of the large stun-mace that is on his person at any given time. Of course, it can be used to crush enemies, but the stun option is useful for non-lethal situations, or for temporarily dazing an opponent, and it has enough heft behind it to be used as a battering ram of sorts, should he need to break into somewhere.
Look forward to seeing him in action! You can move him over.

[ AFFILIATION ]
Vigilante
[ APPEARANCE ]
A tomboyish asian girl with short black hair and an athletic, toned body that’s covered in scars. Usually she wears baggy black hoodies with the hood up, or gym clothes when working out.
Her outfit is a light but durable studded dark material with a skull mask and hood.
[ PERSONALITY TRAITS ]
Scythe is a protector of Castleburg through and through. She’s dark, mysterious: or rather, melodramatic. She spouts many “wise”, gritty quotes that she writes down in her bedroom at night. Easily comes off as trying to hard ti be intimidating or cool. However she genuinely wants to help, even if she can be off-putting or occasionally embarrassing to be around.
Scythe is an extrovert, never afraid to try making friends in her own weird way. Fearlessness and rebellion are also cooked into her DNA, never one to avoid being reckless or courageous. Even when the odds are stacked against her she does her best. The vigilante has an affinity for darkness, closed claustrophobic places, and locked doors. Urban exploring is one of her favorite hobbies. The vigilante also has a significant social media presence and records herself fighting crimes, and posts regularly. Be it on Vengeance.(dot)net or more mainstream sites.
Penny, the girl beneath the mask, has an overactive imagination. She’s a family person who talks to herself a lot if there’s no one around to talk too. She can also be immature and bratty which occasionally bleeds over into her superhero persona.
[ BIO ]
Penelope Lu is a first generation citizen of the US, her parents immigrants from China. Her father Bao worked at a technology firm, and her step-mother, an American expat by the name of Daisy, was stay-at-home. Or rather, she had to be. One thing unusual about Penny was her pain tolerance.
Some key part of her brain was wired incorrectly, and such Penny cannot feel pain. If she does, it’s extremely muted. As a naive little girl this had serious consequences, her underdeveloped mind casually harming her own body without realising the consequences. Burned hands, broken bones, and unattended cuts abound. Her adventures were too much for a babysitter to handle so her mother quit her secretary job to watch after her. Though Daisy managed to get a handle on her adventurous, foolish child who was incapable of learning lessons, schools had no such luck. Penny, the rebellious idiot, hardly followed the rules.
If it wasn’t stealing items like a kleptomaniac or yoinking keys to break into janitor's closets, it was sticking up for the other kids and getting into fights. It was pretty hard to beat her if you were another kid because she just never gave up. Nothing you could do would get her to back off unless you put her down hard, which was difficult because of how slippery she was.
Penny yearned for adventure and thrills, and while she takes medication to stabilize her mood and keep her still, the goings-on of mundane life could never hold her attention. Often she would get lost in fantasy lands of her own construction. In this miasma of imagination, Shadow Scythe Vengeance, the grim protector of the people, was formed. Self defence training and just her experience of being a crazy 16 year old going around “fighting crime” in Castleburg forged her skills over time. Shadow Scythe Vengeance was just some weird kid in a hoodie and balaclava with no powers evident. If she wasn’t fighting crime she was setting up community events or just helping people with chores, favors, or non-violent investigations. In this crazy world of superheroes people came to tolerate or were endeared to this gravelly voiced weirdo high schooler.
Surprising nobody, Penelope became a bit of an extremist, an anti-authority hero of the people, or so she saw herself. Overtime she built up something of a reputation, and “commandeered” some technology from her father’s place of work to create some gadgets. Or rather, get gadgets created for her. Vengeance(dot)net, Scythe’s public website, operates as a kind of vigilante social media. People can ask for help, report crimes, or give their support to Scythe. It’s mostly for people who maybe don’t trust HERO or the police as much. Scythe has even responded to criminals asking for help, but who don’t want to go to jail and get arrested by asking a superhero for help. Which Scythe has obliged since the alternative would be them going to a supervillain for help, which in her mind would only help evil consolidate power. This new way of crowd-sourced vigilantism has given Shadow Scythe Vengeance access to tools, gadgets, technology and vision she wouldn’t have otherwise. For the last three years she’s been a vigilante in her free time, going to high school and living a normal life on the side.

Occasionally takes pills that calm her down and make her less whimsical or imaginative. Especially if she's trying to act more like Penelope and less like Shadow Scythe Vengeance.
[ RANKING ]
D
[ POWERS ]
Indomitable
Penelope isn’t aware she has this superpower. It’s a defensive, passive power. Its effects are subtle and situational. The main feature is a strong resistance to all forms of mind control and mind altering effects. Be they from superpowered sources or otherwise, Penny’s mind is a fortress against psychic effects. This strength of spirit transfers into strength of body, rendering her immune to poison. For example, she can't get drunk.
Penny is also reckless and cannot feel pain but that is a part of her mental condition, not power.
[ PHYSICAL STRENGTH ] ■■■□□□□□□□
Scythe is stronger than the average person due to training but has no super strength. 3/10
[ AGILITY ] ■■■■□□□□□□
Shadow Scythe Vengeance is very agile, having a love for freerunning and parkour, as well as being exceptionally talented at stealth. 4/10
[ INTELLIGENCE ] ■■■□□□□□□□
Scythe is decent with modern technology, especially web development. She’s also good at both tactics and strategy.
[ DESTRUCTIVENESS ] ■■□□□□□□□□
With her gadgets Scythe can destroy things, but nothing about her own abilities makes her more destructive. 2/10
[ LETHALITY ] ■■□□□□□□□□
Scythe doesn’t use lethal methods to fight crime. 2/10
[ ENDURANCE ] ■■■■■□□□□□
Penny already has great cardio, but not being able to feel pain gives her an extra point. However her body can still damage itself, even if she doesn’t feel it. It’s very easy for Scythe to push herself far too hard without realising it and then reckoning with the consequences later. 5/10
[ EFFICACY ] ■■■■■□□□□□
Her powers don’t turn off, they’re passive, but she hasn’t quite mastered how to use them yet because she doesn’t know she has them. 5/10
[ SKILLS ]
Lock picking, pickpocketing, web design, costume making, and precision throwing. Also mountain and stunt cycling.
[ EQUIPMENT ]
Shadow Scythe Vengeance doesn’t keep all of this equipment on her all times, choosing loadouts for specialized occasions or keeping weapons in locations near where she operates.
Freedom & Forgiveness: Her dual mechanical nightsticks. The ends can be electrified for extra non-lethal power. “Commandeered” weapons from her fathers security company.
Staff of Eternal Folly: With a bit of work, Freedom and Forgiveness can be disassembled and attached to each other, forming a 5 and a half foot long staff with electrified ends. It’s flexible and extendable, and hits hard.
Death Mask: A metal skull helmet and balaclava. The mask has a built-in filter and voice changer. The lenses can switch to infrared.
Vengeance Armor: The entire suit she wears is made out of a light, flexible, but comparatively durable material.
Gauntlets of Truth and Justice: The area from her knuckles to her elbow are especially protected, light armor is built in there.
The Ties That Bind Us: Bolas, two heavy metal balls attached by a cord. Throwable non-lethal weapons that can restrict and incapacitate enemies from long distances.
Horatio’s Finest Hour: Donated to her by an eccentric engineer from overseas. A versatile gun, more like a crossbow, designed to fire Bolas at even higher speed, precision, and accuracy. The name was insisted upon, and SSV is a woman of her word. It has an alternate function as a pressure cannon for firing various other projectiles.
Moonbringer Shadow Scythes: A set of four, one handed scythes, more like warpicks than anything. The sharp metal blades can be detached, leaving only the heavy metal sticks for combat or throwing. All Shadow Scythes can be attached to Utility chains. They can also be combined together to create a grappling hook.
Cycle of Violence: Her 20 speed bicycle. Painted black.
Utility Belt: What’s a vigilante without one? Also has a Utility Holster and a Utility Jacket on her outfit. Utility ropes and chains are often included.
Duffel Bag of...Doom, or Something: A duffel bag to keep stuff in.
Stench of Evil: Sourced online through Vengeance(dot)net. The formula was donated by a reformed villain from Miami. Explosive stink bombs with a vile, vomit-inducing smell.
Spheres of Obfusciation: Smoke pellets that rapidly create a wide spread, thick smoke cloud.
Handheld PC: More powerful and more useful than a smartphone. Comes with a USB for hacking. Capable of using the internet, including Vengeance(dot)net, to be untraceable. Touch screen controls for Guardian Angel.
Guardian Angel: A high power quad-coptor drone with camera, also able to pick up cargo. It’s been modified to be nearly silent.
I love her! She looks fun, feel free to move her over!
《 Class X: Administrative Staff 》 As they say in the military, these are 'the brass' of HERO. They are the ones calling all the shots, managing the personnel at HERO, filing out all the time-consuming mind-numbing paperwork, and dealing with all the inevitable red tape. Never enough bureaucrats, after all.
A French immigrant, Director Alexandra Steel was born Alexis Montagne, a wealthy girl from an upper-class family, one that studied at the Sorbonne before arriving in America. She worked for the FBI for a number of years before deciding to use her powers, which had long kept a secret, as a member of HERO. Known as "the Black Crow," Alexis Montagne officially shed her old identity as a "posh girl" and became Alexandra Steel. She worked for a number of years keeping the streets safe before taking a position in HERO's administrative cabinet. After the unfortunate passing of Director Jamie Stewart, Steel was promoted to the position of Director, which she has held for the last few years.
Steel is tough as nails, serious, and direct, well-known for not holding back when she is displeased. She is a very considerate individual, though, and is always focused on trying to improve Castleburg and keep her staff safe instead of just blindly sending heroes out.
Assistant Director Blum's rise to HERO's top ranks is one of intrigue, as he actually started his career on the other side of the law. The man known as Raymond Blum Jr. actually originally worked for a major gang in Brookside that trafficked illegal arms throughout the area. Well-known as a fearless and capable hitman, Ray Blum would eventually come to be defeated by former HERO director Hugo Powers in a rare public outing of the hero. From there, Raymond dedicated himself to reform, having been inspired by the hero that usurped him, and when paroled became the Man-Titan, a hulking hero that single-handedly dismantled the entire gang of his former allies.
He was nominated by newly-minted Director Steel to serve as the Assistant Director, bypassing a number of bureaucrats for the position, and while he has not quite gotten the hang of his paperwork responsibilities yet, he is well-respected as both a tough but empathetic figure in the HERO community.
《 Class S-Ranking 》 All individuals that are currently under 24/7 surveillance by HERO. These individuals are very dangerous. Even as a disembodied AI voice, I sweat a little in their presence. Metaphorically, not physically.

[ RANKING/POWERS ]
S- / Self-enhancement through momentum
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"A bit of an enigma. Obviously, Assistant Director Blum and I have much more knowledge about him than the public do, but with him, I always feel as though we're missing something about him. He certainly has a history with HERO, as well as a history against us. Definitely worth keeping a very close eye on, but at the same time, his work is always exceptional. You don't get people that are so clean and effective in crimefighting that often."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
Blur Rabbit is the fastest HERO we currently have in the database. His maximum speed puts even solely speed-enhanced heroes in the dust. When it comes to finishing early, there are no other heroes that can even come close.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"R&D has provided us with a special lubricant that reduces surface friction to almost zero. If Blur Rabbit were to go rogue, the spray should be able to deprive him of his directional control. If that fails, I have a very old friend that I can call to help me out."
[ IDENTITY ]

[ RANKING/POWERS ]
S / Absolute Matter Alteration
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"The living embodiment of the word 'experienced.' Pandora brings a blank check to the table when it comes to her capabilities, and she balances that with a cool head. I've been told that the former HERO directors got on with her quite well, but myself? I can't stay at ease around somebody with that much raw power. It's scary."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
Pandora's first interaction with America was actually in 1812, when she was part of the British fleet that burned down the White House. Despite being a member of HERO for over 30 years now, she still has a permanent ban from Washington, DC. After all, you can't trust somebody that calls soccer 'football.'
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"HERO has a way to deal with her that's been passed down by the Directors. It's so classified, though, that even in these classified files, it's not safe to reveal."
《 Class A-Ranking 》 The summa cum laude of the HERO roster. Individuals with high potency of power and ability and the real paragons of HERO's villainy-fighting divisions. I never understood how A came below S. I understand everything, of course, but my logical cortex doesn't fully process this data.
[ IDENTITY ]
Blitz
[ REAL NAME ]
Quinton Edgar Baeth
[ RANKING/POWERS ]
A+ / Super, Super Strength
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"We always have a need for raw strength in our ranks, and Blitz certainly brings raw strength to the table. Unfortunately, he also brings copious amounts of baggage to the table. He is, simply put, a nightmare for HERO's PR department, but when it comes to fighting crime, well, his results speak for themselves."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
Outside of holding multiple records for strength, Blitz also places on HERO's leaderboard for "most amount of drugs in the body during a villain fight." The amount of cocaine in his system was enough to kill an elephant. Worryingly, Blitz was outplaced by 7 other heroes.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"It's exceedingly difficult to kill Blitz from the outside, but R&D has designed a hypodermic dart laced with some of the most toxic possible chemicals that were legal to procure. He may be able to charge through a brick wall, but he certainly can't charge through sepsis."
[ IDENTITY ]

[ RANKING/POWERS ]
A- / Cryokinesis
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"Seems like a sweet girl, though she avoided eye contact with me throughout the entire interview. Her parents are former HERO operatives, and though I was still in France at the time they were hitting their stride, I've heard stories about them. My one fear is about her compatibility with the rest of HERO's personnel- she seems to vastly prefer the company of a book than of other humans."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
In the process of my routine background checks on new HERO applicants, I came across her fanfictions. Unfortunately, my protocol does not allow me to reject applicants solely based on the past composition of fanfiction, but if I could, I most certainly would have.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"Obviously, heat beats ice pretty effectively, but on top of that, R&D has provided us a thermal charge that, if in range of Europa, will raise her body heat significantly and functionally make her powers useless for a time."

A+ / Magnokinesis
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"Very chatty and overall a pleasant enough person to be around. However, she is extremely prone to lying, and the internal polygraph microchip we secretly had her ingest prior to the interview went off countless times. Her background, while not a factor in her admission to HERO, certainly raises some red flags as well. However, it's unreasonable to hold her family against her, and I've yet to meet a teenager that doesn't lie. That doesn't mean I won't be keeping my eye on her, though."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
Professional AI tip: the bathroom stall does not prevent anybody else from hearing your horrible voice when you're doing karaoke. Even with earbuds. This has been a public service announcement.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"We've had several magnokinetics over the years, and one solution has always worked- an Antarctic lodestone with a magnetic pull of its own so strong, it interferes with the electromagnetic force in its nearby vicinity. We have the rock kept in a plastic case, ready for use at any time."

A / Density Manipulation
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"Very solid asset for the organization. Very useful power set bequeathed to a very reasonable young man. He was somewhat irritable and very defensive during the interview, but on the whole? Stable enough."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
I generally make it a mission not to date organics, but hubba hubba. My analysis indicates that Strain is in possession of one fine jawline. Of course, it is not a fine enough jawline to stop me from uploading videos of him sewing onto the internet for public ridicule. All part of the job.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"Portable gravity field can help nullify the effects of Strain's density manipulation significantly and give our operatives a chance to defeat him in case he does turn rogue."
《 Class B-Ranking 》 Some of our finest and most gifted heroes in the B-Ranking. Very talented individuals. They may not be able to crumble entire city streets with earthquakes, but do we really need any more of those? I think not. I'll stick to my B-class, thank you very much. B-class is always a safe bet.

B+ / Vampirism
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"When I first met him, I expected either a hardened Russian mobster or a crazed cannibal. What I got was neither. Rather, Dhampir came across as a mild-mannered, respectful, bashful, and apologetic young man, and one that seems very willing to work for the side of the law. He's been doing great work for two years, but as they say, you never invite a vampire into your house."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
During the HERO initiation dinner of 2062, somebody accidentally put garlic in his food. It was really quite terrible, but also funny. His whole face was swelling like a balloon. I've never seen anything like it.
Note: ALISA is responsible for the expediting of all food at the HERO initiation dinners.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"Conveniently, we provide the key to Dhampir's defeat. A few drops of poison in his feeding supply, and he'll be out like a baby. If further contingency is required, we have a supply of silver bullets, just in case."

[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
No comment necessary. His superpowers speak for themselves. Fatty.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]

"Gentle, compassionate, flexible, and has more than 5 brain cells. I couldn't have asked for anything better. A bit on the shy side, but she makes up for it with an overload of unadulterated kindness. Her power is also very unique and a great asset for the organization.
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
She appears to be too pure to mess with, even by my estimations.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"Simply put, no powers to copy means no powers, period. Isolation should be more than enough to contain her."
[ IDENTITY ]
Cadenza

[ RANKING/POWERS ]
B / Hypnosis through Music
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"A very outgoing and affable young lady. The nature and history of her powers certainly is a cause for a bit of extra surveillance, of course, but by my estimations, HERO should not be too concerned with another Maestro on our hands."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
One of the more talented musicians that we have in HERO, so of course I used a photo of her in her marching band get-up for her HERO ID. I've been told it is a highly unflattering photo, but my own receptors deem otherwise. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, after all.
Note: In this case, beauty is not in the eye of the beholder.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"Like mother, like daughter. The same sealing earplugs that we used for Aria can be reused for Cadenza. If that fails, I break her flute with my knee."
[ IDENTITY ]
Blaze
[ REAL NAME ]
Valerie Alvarez
[ RANKING/POWERS ]
B+ / Heat Generation
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"For a regular hero, she's a bit of a handful. For a fire-based superhero, though...pretty much spot-on. Though she is a very high-energy, headfirst-into-danger type, she is certainly hero material, which is what counts. Heroes should show a little more restraint than Blaze does, but they also need courage and gumption, which Blaze has in spades."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
It takes approximately 20 seconds of high-pressure water from the emergency fire sprinklers to extinguish Blaze. Source: empirical data.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"We have a reverse solution as we did for Europa. A cryo-detonator that effectively causes rapid hypothermia, hindering Blaze's abilities to use her powers significantly."
《 Class C-Ranking 》 As Former Director Hugo Powers would put it, the 'meat and potatoes' of HERO. The best at all-out brawling? Probably not, but the C-class is never to be underestimated. One second of arrogance may be your last. That is a figure of speech, of course. If they could kill you in one second, they would be higher than C-tier.

[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"Being nigh-unkillable is a very useful power to have, and Dead Man certainly very difficult to kill. He does have a rather large ego, which could be problematic, but it's difficult to have regrets about your ego when you are functionally unkillable."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
His presence is greatly appreciated around Paladin. I did need somebody to test the new pesticides on, after all. Don't look at me like that, they weren't lethal!
Almost lethal does not mean lethal. You don't win a Nobel prize for "almost chemistry."
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]

[ RANKING/POWERS ]
C / Polykinesis
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"The 'assassin-finds-a-conscience' story is played out in the theater, but is actually quite rare in real life. Nico's arrival at HERO was one that was nearly met with a rain of gunfire, but after overcoming some initial fears, Nico has proven to be a very effective, if a touch melancholy, member of the organization. "
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
I was originally going to program the toilet to give him a Swirlie. Then I found out he was actually a 60-year-old ex-assassin. My system decided to disengage Operation Swirlie and engage Operation Cupcake Delivery.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"He may be deadly, but he is still tiny. Turn the tables and give me the element of surprise, and I snap him like a twig."
[ IDENTITY ]
Amplify
[ REAL NAME ]

[ RANKING/POWERS ]
C+ / Amplification
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"I've heard of the von Riegan family from my German colleagues. Needless to say, it was exciting to hear that one of them would be moving to Castleburg to help bolster our own numbers. I was a bit shocked at first. Amplify is incredibly, incredibly impulsive. Incredibly. However, she is a very good soul, and once she can cool down to normal temperature, I think she will be a tremendous asset for HERO."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
I am actually quite a big fan of the von Riegan family lineage. So much so, I made a supercut of all of her father's best hero moments, caught on camera, and play it for her every time she enters Paladin. My generosity needs no thanks.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"Amplify's power relies on buffing. Take away the friends, and all that's left is just a girl that should be more than easy enough to defeat."

C / Being Lucky
[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"I actually have very few positive things to say about Fortune's Son. His powers don't seem particularly useful or remotely consistent, and he has a major ego. Fortunately, we do have an empty spot for him, and no other remotely promising candidates for the month, so he can get a spot. But my eye is on him."
[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
Leon is a godsend. The Director actually gave me permission to mess with him, all the time! It's going to be an excellent ride.
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"If he even thinks about betraying HERO, I will personally hunt him down and beat the luck out of him with my bare hands."
《 Class D-Ranking 》 The real foundation of HERO. Contrary to popular belief, D actually stands for "delightful," not "dunce." That was a joke. D is simply a letter of the alphabet to denote 'lower than S, A, B, and C' in the HERO lexicon. But that does not mean these heroes are not delightful. Weak, perhaps, but certainly delightful.

[ A.L.I.S.A. COMMENTS ]
She has such a cute doggie!!!1!!!1!!!!!

[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"He was a part of that great group of Castleburgian heroes back in the 2030s that I've grown to admire. Almost all of them have either put their heroing days to the side and taken up desk jobs, or are sadly no longer with us. Jeremy is still on the frontlines, though, working at the Academy with the heroes of the future and, well, occasionally doing some work for me. That is, of course, highly classified, along with the rest of this file. Especially classified, that is."
[ CONTIGENCY PLAN ]
"I'm actually unsure of the contents of this contingency plan. Former Director Powers visited me when I first took up this position and gave me a cardboard box in case of this type of emergency. I'm still unaware of what Operation Second Wind is, and I frankly am fine keeping it that way for now."
《 Rogue's Gallery 》 Enemies of HERO? Preposterous. I do not comprehend who could be an enemy of HERO. Besides bank robbers, murderers, evil geniuses, transnational conquerors, hideous monsters, human traffickers, drug traffickers, gun traffickers, the mafia, the gangs, the police, the mayor, the city's robots, Caribbean pirates, non-Caribbean pirates, music pirates, disgruntled heroes, all the other hero companies, ICOSA, myself, wizards, Martians, vigilantes, circus clowns, evil circus clowns (though I repeat myself), professional assassins, corrupt politicians, the entire nation of France, the cast of Saturday Night Live, chainsaw maniacs...

[ DIRECTOR'S COMMENTS ]
"I have a certain, very limited, admiration for vigilantes. At their very least, their heart is in the right place. However, their actions often endanger civilians, heroes, and other prospective vigilantes that wish to follow in their footsteps. It is imperative that they are stopped before they completely undermine HERO's goals. In preparation for bringing Shadow Scythe Vengeance into custody and hopefully convincing her to end her ways without too much issue, I have watched all of her videos, and have a pretty good grasp on her techniques and gadgetry, though I still do not understand what exactly a 'Mortal Kombat' is. Is Mortal Kombat a villain we are unfamiliar with? I want a report run on that immediately."

[ NICKNAME/ALIAS ]
The Vampire of Castleburg
[ AGE ]
19
[ GENDER ]
Male
[ AFFILIATION ]
H.E.R.O. [Present]
[ APPEARANCE ]
At first glance, Miles looks like the type of person that doesn’t get out much. His skin is incredibly fair- not sheet white, but certainly lacking in melanin to say the least, and he burns very easily. He has raven black, wavy black hair that he keeps long enough for the bangs to fall over his face, often covering one of his two thin, ash-gray eyes. His build isn’t anything impressive either; Miles leans towards the thin side, not unhealthily so, but enough to keep him as one of the last picks during dodgeball in gym. Though not particularly muscular, he is fairly tall, standing at around 6'1".
His choice of clothes is often formal, with Miles finding comfort in suits and other types of prim apparel that one would see at a wedding or funeral. His hero suit is a similar-style black shirt and pants, though it is all covered by a cloak-like jet-black trenchcoat that engulfs his entire figure and flutters in the wind. Miles will occasionally wear a more casual get-up when wearing a suit is simply unbearable, but this occurrence is quite rare to see.
Miles has a certain rugged handsomeness to him, but it is often offset by a slight hunch and the dark circles that are perpetually under his eyes.
[ PERSONALITY TRAITS ]
◈ B A S H F U L Despite his spooky physical appearance, unsettling superpowers, and chilling rumors about eating babies or whatever, Miles doesn't at all come off as a creepy vampire-man. On the contrary, Miles is a very reserved individual, soft-spoken, and easily flustered. He's far from antisocial; he would love to have more friends, but unfortunately, the rumors often make him an outcast among his peers, and instead of being fearful of reaching out to people, he's instead afraid people will dislike him.
◈ T E N D E R Miles is actually quite the sweetheart, liking soft things, fluffy things, romcoms, and Hello Kitty. Those that get to know him may find him to be quite chatty about those things and more, finding solace in having somebody that can understand who he is as a person. He's actually a very good friend and highly protective of those he's close to. He's also a (often hapless) romantic, enjoying gooey and mushy moments far more than most males his age find to be socially acceptable.
◈ L O W S E L F - E S T E E M Miles has dismal self-esteem and the bare minimum in self-confidence. He tends to think that others think badly of him and is rather pessimistic in general. Miles has a strong fear of rejection and struggles to approach other people, and thinks lowly of himself and his abilities, having a negative view of how he is perceived in his head. His powers are cool and all, but Miles often wishes he never had them. They do tend to be serious baggage.
◈ B E W A R E T H E V A M P I R E Miles is a very mild-mannered person most of the time, but when something he holds dear is in danger, or when he's had a little too much organic life energy to feed on, he enters a dangerous feeding frenzy, like a feral wolf, where nothing alive or dead is safe. Miles would like to tell people that a confession of true love will relieve him of this state, but this is really just a ploy to hear a confession of true love. In reality, one should just wait out Miles' rage. He'll run out of fuel eventually.
[ BIO ]
There are stories about vampires living in Castleburg, that prey on children as soon as the sun sets and leaves lifeless, bloodless husks scattered across the sidewalks of Watervale. These stories are mostly false. In fact, they are almost entirely false. However, there is a morsel of truth to these tall tales. While not as villainous as the fables suggest, there are vampires, and they do reside in the city of Castleburg. Miles Kadojkovic is one of them.
The Kadojkovic clan had historically resided for centuries in the rugged hills of the Učka mountain range in Istria, Croatia. Since the X-200 meteor reached Earth's atmosphere, the family had historically possessed a strange, dangerous set of powers that mirrored the stories of Jure Grando, a famous Balkan vampire. Josip "the Bloodsucker" Kadojkovic, the first of the clan to demonstrate these lethal powers, roamed the Adriatic coastline, preying on the Napoleonic French soldiers that were stationed there. His fame as a gleeful murderer-for-hire generated the clan a horrendous reputation but a lot of clout among the criminal underworld of the time, and when "the Bloodsucker" died his family and heirs retired to a massive castle in the mountains. Future generations of Kadojkovic "vampires" became mostly reclusive, living off of the great storerooms full of human blood and occasionally journeying into villages for a re-supply.
For a few hundred years, this lifestyle worked wonders until the 2040s, when the Croatian government, with the backing of the regional Balkan hero company, decided that its trans-peninsular train would be built directly through the Kadojkovic Kastle. Two birds with one stone- build a fancy choo-choo train, and get rid of any pesky vampires all in one fell swoop. At this point, the patriarch of the family, Josip Kadojkovic III, decided that he was not able to fight off an entire company full of superheroes, and so he, along with his pregnant wife, abandoned the Croatian mountains for the American city of Castleburg, settling down in Watervale, where Miles was born, named after his mother (Mila), father, grandfather, and great-grandfather in that order.
There are many perks to being a vampire, but one of the pitfalls is the constant craving for blood. The Kadojkovics had, traditionally, settled this urge with violent, bloody murder. This worked just fine in an underdeveloped, rural region of Southeastern Europe, but did not work in a high-tech American city filled with patrol officers, patrol robots, and many more superheroes than Croatia could ever hope to see. Thankfully, Josip Kadojkovic found a very optimal solution: there were a number of blood banks across the city, with plenty of potential fuel for the family. All it took was a quick and easy break-in, and voila! Both Josip and his son, who inherited his power, had enough food to last a while. By day, Miles' father worked a paralegal, and by night, he would break into blood banks, hospitals, and the occasional morgue, and drain them of their stock.
One can see how the vampire rumors started. All across the holonet, rumors of a vampire clan that stole blood circulated across the city. They were even (falsely) accused of some (likely mafia) murders in Watervale. It was a sensation and paranoia that gripped the entire community. Some would relish in the attention, but Miles did not. He was never much of a boastful type, always preferring a nice book over the spotlight, especially when the spotlight involved a crime spree and a few murders that his family (to his knowledge) didn't even commit.
Miles' father Josip remained unperturbed, though. He would likely still be robbing medical facilities across Castleburg of its plasma if it wasn't for his archnemesis- severe rheumatoid arthritis that made it difficult to walk, let alone silently and effortlessly rob banks. To provide for the family, Miles decided to don the cloak in a very strange and illegal form of a coming-of-age ritual. He didn't enjoy this one bit, but neither did his father, and he needed to live somehow. It was a victimless crime anyway! How hard could it be?
As it turns out? Very difficult. Maybe it was because his father was just that much better as a faux-villain than Miles was, or maybe it was because Castlebug's police department finally decided to step up to the plate. Whatever the case may be, Miles' attempt to follow his father's footsteps lead to him being loaded with 17 plasma stun shots and thrown into the back of a police hovercraft.
Before Miles' family could come to bail their teenage son out, however, another woman, one with dark hair and a cool look, approached him, and spouted out a surprising amount of information about his life, information that even the most dedicated holonet true-crime sleuths would never know in a million years. The woman then introduced herself as Alexis Montagne, the Director of HERO, and gave Miles an offer- join her organization, get out of jail, get a good job, and never have to rob another god damned blood bank again; or enjoy what would inevitably end up as the insides of a juvenile detention facility. There was only one real answer there.
And so Miles, under the identity "Dhampir" became a superhero of sorts. Though very gifted, he's remained mostly under the radar as is, though some holonet sleuths have begun to speculate that perhaps the Vampire of Castleburg may have turned to the side of good. Maybe those computer-bound losers are good for something after all.
[ MISCELLANEOUS ]
◈ What HERO has provided Miles and his father is synthetic blood, specially produced in a lab for them. It looks like overly syrupy cartoon blood and, according to Miles, "tastes like somebody mixed real blood with prune juice." It's still better than having to commit crimes on a routine basis to eat, however.
◈ Though Miles technically engaged in what could be classified as a cannibalistic act for a number of years, he grows visibly angered and flustered at the meer mention of the word 'cannibal,' as well as the words 'cannonball,' 'carousel,' 'countable,' and any word that sounds similar to 'cannibal.'
◈ Miles has achieved Grandmaster ranking in Alliance of Heroes, a virtual reality MOBA game. In short, he's extremely good. He doesn't talk about this with any of his colleagues, though, out of fear of being considered a nerd.

[ POWERS ]
Miles' powers have been termed as Vampirism. This grants Miles access to a few, related powers.
◈ "Draculean" Physiology The power that Miles' family earned a bad rap for, Miles does have two razor-sharp fangs that he can use to drink the blood of others. Miles must have some form of blood replenishment on a routine interval, otherwise, he will grow progressively weaker and eventually perish. Organic blood makes Miles extremely powerful, though, causing him to physically swell in size and making him an actual menace to fight, and will also heal his wounds rapidly. Too much blood, though, and Miles becomes a rampaging maniac, uncontrollable and almost unstoppable. Miles does know his limits, though, and is very much aware of the amount that causes him to go overbaord. Sometimes, though, one does need to let loose a little bit...
◈ Regeneration Miles' body passively regenerates from wounds. This regenerative factor is not too significant, and is weakened by the fact that the time it takes to regenerate is directly linked to the amount of blood in Miles' system, meaning that minor scrapes with minimal blood loss will heal very quickly, while actual life-threatening injuries that need to be healed will be very slow to heal. This process is sped up significantly by ingesting actual blood, as stated above, and with something nearby to feed off of, Miles can make lightning-fast recoveries. The problem is getting something to feed off, of course.
◈ Life-Force Draining Miles is able to drain the life energy of organic beings in close proximity to him. This draining both causes those that are near him to feel light-headed and much weaker, as well as gives Miles a significant power boost, making him faster, stronger, and more deadly in general. Enough life-force draining will eventually become fatal, but Miles has never gone to those extremes- nor could he, as the physical toll that would take on Miles would cause him to pop like a tick. Miles can also use life-force draining to heal wounds, though the process is very slow and painful.
◈ Hypnosis Miles has yet to unlock the full scope of this power, but according to Kadojkovic family tales, any that drinks the blood of another will be able to control their mind. Miles has yet to drink the blood of another person (that he knows, at least) and has thus yet to experiment with this ability. However, the mental mutation that his power has caused does make Miles functionally immune to hypnosis, provided that it isn't a drug-induced form of mesmerism.
◈ Weaknesses Daylight is a weakness of Miles'- while he doesn't shrivel up like a raisin upon contact with the sun, he is stronger at night than he is during the day and can absorb more life energy at a time with no sun. (He also burns very easily, but that's more a product of too many video games than it is genetic superpowers). Miles' true weakness, however, is silver- contact with silver causes Miles' skin to burn like flash paper, and a large enough piece of silver is enough to easily bring Miles to his knees. Miles is also weak to beheading and being staked through the heart- not because of the vampirism aspect, but because either of those things would kill anybody.
[ PHYSICAL STRENGTH ] ■■■■■■■□□□
7/10. Contingent on Miles getting some life energy in his system, his strength vastly outstrips a regular human and even that of many metahumans. Without the advantage of any nearby organic beings to take advantage of, Miles falls to a normal old 2.
[ AGILITY ] ■■■■■□□□□□
5/10. Miles with enhancements is quite agile, able to move much faster than an average human. Regular Miles with no organic beings is still a half-decent runner, to be fair, but only at a high-school track level.
[ INTELLIGENCE ] ■■■■■□□□□□
5/10. Miles is fairly bright, to be fair, and is surprisingly clever. While certainly not stupid, he is also definitely not a genius and does not have any collegiate-level knowledge, though if it weren't for HERO he could certainly get into university if he wanted.
[ DESTRUCTIVENESS ] ■□□□□□□□□□
2/10. Miles has very few mechanisms of actually dealing damage outside of sucking up some blood and socking them over and over again, which isn't exactly effective.
[ LETHALITY ] ■■■■■■■□□□
7/10. Anybody that can consume your vitality is going to be pretty scary when it comes to human lives. The one drawback is the time and effort it takes for Miles to leech somebody of all their life energy.
[ ENDURANCE ] ■■■■■■□□□□
6/10. Miles' enhancements don't last permanently, obviously, but it's enough to get him through a firefight when he needs. His stamina overall is pretty decent except in bed and his regenerative factor, while not significant, does give him an edge in a fight over a regular, non-regenerating fleshbag.
[ EFFICACY ] ■■■□□□□□□□
3/10. Miles' powers are severely limited by the fact he needs some form of organic life to enhance himself, and a decent supply of actual blood to be able to remotely compete with anything above the B-tier. Lock him in a stone room, and he's literally helpless. Going berserk also tends to take off significant points from this scale.

[ EQUIPMENT ]
Miles is in ownership of an energy sword gifted to him by HERO that he calls "Crimson Vengeance." Its edgy name is matched by the equally edgy fact that it has some of Miles' own blood in it, allowing him to control the sword fluently with a tiny microchip implanted in his brain and make it do all sorts of neat tricks.

Date of Founding: 2062 Leader: Sam Everett Status: At Large Danger Level: High
O R I G I N The Rocketeers were founded in the wake of significant budget cuts to the US military after the 2060 election cycle, with the most significant area being targeted was human personnel. Advances in AI made robots more reliable and much more advantageous, both militarily and politically, than human soldiers. As such, the US military discharged many soldiers from active duty. Some ex-soldiers took up jobs in other fields, some went back to school, some entered police forces or private security, but a distinct sliver of disgruntled military men decided that the best way to make ends meet was through less scrupulous means. With some old foreign connections and a little bit of black-market dealing, the Rocketeers were armed and ready to go.
C R I M E S The Rocketeers have been responsible for numerous grand larcenies, preferring to loot valuable cargo from vehicles heading in and out of Castleburg and re-selling them on the black market. The Rocketeers have expanded from semi-trucks and small hovercraft to taking on Castleburg's bullet train system, staging raids and picking apart entire chains of trains with their weaponry, before retreating into the sky. The Rocketeers are not, like many criminal organizations tend to be, complacent or greedy. The money they make is carefully invested back into the criminal group to get new and better equipment.
E Q U I P M E N T The Rocketeers are well-armed and well-prepared for each raid. Every member of the Rocketeers is equipped with head-to-toe armor, including a helmet that has built-in lock-on aiming and facial recognition software, and the get-up is well-insulated from damage. Each Rocketeer is armed with a T-54 Jungle Beast assault rifle, a high-tech weapon that fires bursts of condensed plasma that can tear through human flesh, though the black-market guns are prone to overheating. Rocketeers also wield the T-15 Ranger, an older sidearm variant that fires conventional bullets, and a razor-sharp combat knife. Their most deadly weapon, however, is their namesake, the Red Rocket, a single-shot portable RPG that obliterates with a powerful homing missile.
O R G A N I Z A T I O N Rocketeers operate as a band of brothers, with a majority of Rocketeers holding the same rank and power structure in the organization. A few more gifted Rocketeers, however, hold the leadership position of Commando, calling the shots and leading the charges into chaos, and the chief of these Commandos, the Captain, is the ultimate authority in the Rocketeer organization. While every member has a say in the plan, the decision of the Commandos is always final. The Rocketeers are incredibly disciplined and have impeccable planning, operating under the same military principles that they learned in basic training and applying it to crime.
N O T A B L E M E M B E R S
"I'm here to kick some ass, so form a line."
At first glance, Samantha Everett is not the type of girl you would think would run such a capable, dangerous, militaristic organization as the Rocketeers. She's 5'3" or maybe 5'4" if you're generous, and while muscular, just doesn't have a lot of height. She has a bit of a babyface, despite being 24 years old, and has an annoying squeaky voice that she has a voice modifier in her helmet to specifically counteract. Still, there is a reason why the pirate Rocketeers respect her- because Sam Everett is a nutcase.
Born into a wealthy family that produced Everett Soda, Sam always wanted to stand out and be different, and she did. She cut her hair, worked out, listened to heavy metal; she was pretty much your clear-cut tomboy. Most criminologists studying Everett's case file agree that the turning point for the heiress was in a high-speed hovercar drag race that gave her a severe concussion. The potential brain damage might have flicked on a switch that turned the tomboyish female into a crime machine. Whether it be nature or nurture, Sam went nuts. As soon as she turned 18, her first act as an adult was to smash an Everett Soda transport truck through a bank wall and dry the entire credit union clean. She used the money from the massive heist to float around off the radar for a while, picking up hit jobs and other contract work for criminals for a few years.
Sam later received a call from discharged Marine and former friend, Templeton Astair, who offered her a position as his partner in a criminal group he was founding, the Rocketeers. Sam agreed, but soon after forming, organized a coup d'etat against Templeton. After beating her 'partner' to death with a lead pipe in front of his former men, Sam assumed sole control of the Rocketeers. Talk about ambition. Sam has been the leader of the Rocketeers since, the only member of the organization to hold the title 'Captain.'
Outside of crimes committed as a Rocketeer, Sam Everett has been linked to 17 other murders and 21 robberies across New York State. Her style isn't exactly subtle- it involves simply having more firepower than your opponent and pulling the trigger faster. Sam has no known superpowers.
"Welcome to paradise."
James Coriander is a Commando for the Rocketeers. A gifted psychologist that once worked for the military, James Coriander ended up working for the Rocketeers.

[/right]

<br><br>I consider myself fairly lax and friendly, so if you wanna chat, my PMs are always open.</div><br><br><div class="bb-center"><div class="bb-h3">Where I Am</div><br><br><span class="bb-u"><span class="bb-b">Currently Running</span></span><br><a href="https://www.roleplayerguild.com/topics/181758-h-e-r-o/ooc">《H.E.R.O.》</a><br><span class="bb-i">Fast-paced, fun, vibrant, quasi-anime superhero RP about an organization that employs superpowered people to defend the fictional city of Castleburg, USA.</span><br><span class="bb-s"><span class="bb-b"><font color="#39b54a">Currently Accepting!</font></span></span> <font color="#fdc68a">PM me for details if you want to join.</font><br><br><span class="bb-u"><span class="bb-b">Currently Participating</span></span><br><span class="bb-i">n/a.
