A young girl groaned as she woke up to the early morning sun. It was not her usual hour of waking up, as she usually slept well into the afternoon after being up until sunrise. But, she had to change things up due to today being a very special day and she had no desire to be late to the event she was to partake in. It had been hard to fall asleep and it took her a bit to wake up as well. Once she was awake though, she quickly began getting ready for the day, grabbing a shower before getting dressed, wearing a black camisole underneath a light hoodie that wouldn't be too hot if the weather was warmer, a pair of dark blue jeans, and a pair of purple and white shoes. She tried to dress in a way that made it hard to tell her gender incase she ended up traveling alone, as she heard that a girl like her traveling alone might be the target of certain types of people. Better to be as safe as she could be.

Once she was ready and had double checked her backpack to make sure it had all her things, she pulled the hood over her head to keep her face hidden as she headed out into the big city. She had arrived a day or two earlier and had made sure to memorize the route to the Pokémon League. So, she made her way over, taking her time and make sure not to rush herself. She had made sure to leave with plenty of time to spare. Still, it took her the better part of fifteen to twenty minutes of walking to reach the League Center. The building was tall and once she reached it, she paused while looking up at it, almost losing her nerve before taking a deep breath and heading inside. If she gave up before even starting, she had no chance of being free and exploring this world. She just needed to remember the courage she had had when she finally ran away from home.

Once she was inside the building, she once again had to pause and take in the sights. The waterfall got a gasp of awe out of the young child and the serene river and lake it fed into only helped sell it to her. She had to wonder if any Pokémon called the waters and surrounding plant-life home. She didn't spot any but she didn't have time to look. She needed to focus on other things and as such, she made her way to the front desk and handed over the letter that would explain things to the receptionist. They would head back and clear things up with those in charge before taking the girl and leading her to a waiting area where there were two more people, both boys from the looks of it.

Amelia lowered her head and adjusted her hood to hide her face before before moving to take a seat away from the both of them. She was trying to save her courage for when they were called in and as such didn't approach either of the boys. She hoped they would not be waiting long but at the same time, she tried to watch them and anyone else who arrived, to see what kind of people might or might not be traveling with her.

There's nothing stopping you from wondering around, hopping from one side quest to another, only getting your 3rd pokemon after visiting the next town (once everyone else has a full team,) and barely following along with anything happening....

The Littlest Ghost Girl

Description
Standing at only 4'0" tall and weighing a little over 70 lbs, Amelia is on the shorter end of her age group due to a combination of genetics and a possible side-effect of her heart condition. She has a pale complexion from spending most of her time outside during the night or indoors. Her blond hair is kept short, save for the bangs over her right eye growing long enough to cover it. Said eyes are a bright cherry red in color.

In terms of fashion, Amelia tends to dress very simply, occasionally trying something she thinks is cute or fashionable out but generally lacking the confidence to try out anything fashionable. Her lack of human friends might have also hampered her in this regard but if someone was willing to teach, she is more than eager to learn.

When she does snap, she holds nothing back and can truly show the passionate fire that burns within her, though sometimes she can push herself too far for her own good once angered.

Amelia's greatest loves are freedom and peace. She utterly detests those who pick on and bully others and constantly pick fights. She prefers to find the peaceful solution to problems and will pursue that method until forced to acknowledge it as no longer possible. While her distaste to violence also goes for pokemon battles, she acknowledges and takes part in the tradition, though she has sworn off using battle as a method to catch pokemon unless the pokemon she is after will only go with her after a battle.

Amelia's other great hate is being pitied due to her heart condition (see below). She wants people to see her for herself, not for her health.

Background:
Amelia was born to a modest home in Florasong and is the only daughter of two caring parents. Some might say two overly caring parents. When their daughter had to be sent to the closest hospital at the age of one, it was revealed that her heart hadn't developed as it should, resulting in her suffering intense pain if she pushed herself to hard, and possibly worse if she ever tried to push beyond this. When she returned home after this revelation, Amelia's parents kept a very close eye on her and greatly restricted what she could and could not do, something she would come to compare as being a bird caught in a cage.

When she was still young, the age of six to be precise, Amelia began rebelling against her parents' regime, often sneaking out at night to have fun. Her favorite place to go was the local cemetery, where she would walk among the tombstones, monoliths, and other structures in peace and quiet, save for the company of the ghost-types that called this place home. While they initially played all kinds of pranks on her, she eventually got used to this and became good friends with them and she would come and visit them every night. When she began to pick up the town tradition of playing music, she would often play for her ghostly friends, slowly improving with their encouragement.

When she was nine years old, Amelia finally got caught during one of these excursions after she got a bit reckless due to succeeding for three years. A trainer caught her in the graveyard and returned her home after questioning the residents to find out where the girl lived. To say her parents where livid would be an understatement and Amelia quickly found herself being severely grounded. Unable to even leave her room, she sat on her bed and sulked for days, having nothing better to do and fearing what little freedom she had had was now lost.

Luckily, she had made some very good friends. The Ghost-type pokemon missed her and, after four days, began searching the town for her. When they found her, they undid the locks in her house and helped her escape into the night and to the graveyard once again. When she arrived, she was surprised and scared to find the trainer who had caught her waiting for her. Her fears were quickly dismissed though when the trainer apologized and told her he would help her in her escapades and even teach her how to battle, handle, and care for pokemon.

Little did Amelia know, but her new friend had more in mind than that. When he got word that a former rival was gathering trainers to compete in the Pokemon League, he reached out and contacted them about a young unknown who would otherwise be denied a chance to compete. With some careful planning between himself and Adriane, her mentor managed to help her get out of her parents' house before sending her off into the distance on the back of one of his pokemon. A bird finally free from its cage and able to explore the world and find her place in it.

Has an intense fear of storms, though those caused by Pokémon do not bother her for some reason.
Due to her time spent with Ghost-types, she has developed a bit of a sixth sense for them, allowing her to know when they are around and what direction, as well as letting her get along with them more easily.
Heart condition that acts up when she physically pushes herself too far. Most of the time it just causes her severe pain, but in the worse cases, she can begin coughing up blood. She can still walk for a full day so long as she paces herself and can run in short sprints.

The counter attacks came in as all her Pokémon got past this round without getting hit and possibly dealing what she hoped was a good amount of damage to the target of the four way assault. So, she had to focus to minimize the effects of the String Shots coming at her now, as they would cause her trouble down the line if she wasn't careful, she was sure.
"Yamask, use protect and try to intercept the other two. Mimikyu, use Scratch the slice those webs up. Phantump, use Astonish on a different Spinarak. Gollet, follow Phantump's lead and launch another Mud Slap!" She commanded!

Yamask let out a cry as a transparent barrier of energy formed around it as it flew to try and intercept more than one of the String Shots. While that happened, Mimikyu brought out both of it's shadowy, tendril like claws and used them to begin rapidly swiping at any String Shots that came at it and Golett, trying to cut them down before nany landed. Meanwhile, Phantump and Golett turned their attention on a new Spinarak, focusing an Astonish and Mud Slap on the spider.

Shuppet is rather friendly past it's shy demeanor, just like it's trainer, but it also processes a fighting spirit that Amelia lacks.

It appreciates what the young girl did for its home and feels greatly indebted as a result, leading to this attitude towards its trainer, though Amelia would never take advantage of it.

Amelia watched as Meditite was ordered to use Confusion... only to punch itself with incredible force and be sent flying from that force. The little medium blinked in her own confusion, the shock of what happened causing her to pause as Shuppet launched it's attack, dealing even more damage to their opponent. Her shock didn't last long though. This was an opening to possibly get at least another win out of this battle. Her expression turned serious again as she focused on the battle, determined to do what she could now.

She still suspected her chances of winning the full battle were very low but with a bit of luck and some quick thinking, she might be able to at least do some damage to Anise's team. In all honestly, it would probably mostly come down to luck but she needed to try. She owed all her partners at least that much for getting them into this situation. She couldn't give up like she had been about too earlier.
"Shuppet, it's going to be hard but try to dodge that Confusion if possible and counter with Night Shade once again!" She said. Shuppet nodded, preparing to launch it's counter attack against the much faster Meditite.
