Ooh, I like her. Out of curiosity, do you have a broader idea for what direction to take her Quirk in? I can see several good uses for it with the proper training - having metal-based weapons or armor to conduct the heat, or somehow making bursts of steam, for example.

I have a few ideas, though mostly its just a case of increasing her max output and letting her use it for longer. She'd also learn how to control her temperature more finely and even focus it to just one part of her body at a time. Basically she's never worked to improve her Quirk at all, so she's lacking in both power and control.

Metal armour probably wouldn't work, I think it would slow her down too much, but a heat conducting weapon to increase her range isn't a bad idea. She wouldn't be able to make steam herself but I have ideas for some equipment to help with that.

@ShwiggityShwah good to see Hiroki again, though I have no idea how he scored less than Akeno; I half expected him to be one of the characters not in the bottom ten. Is he weaker than the version from the last RP?
I don't have any plans of posting again at the moment.

Hmm, I'm thinking that my character might be a bit too normal and serious for this now, but I'll get her up later today and we'll see how it goes.

Is there going to be a discord for this? @TruthHurts22

Western Farms Workshop – Better Late Than Never

Lanfen was nothing if not patient. Delaying the summoning of her Servant until well after most others had begun fighting and allowing the other Masters of the war to make their opening gambits before her was a sacrifice she was willing to make if it meant she had more time to better prepare her workshop. The groundwork she laid down now would serve as her foundation for the rest of this conflict and haste in this moment could be her downfall days or weeks from now; that was a lesson her family had learned dozens of times over.

With everything finally established, her workshop setup with everything she should need and her boundaries and defences in place, she could finally summon her champion. The diamond tipped arrowhead she had used as a catalyst had been hard to acquire but as she saw her Servant for the first time, shining and radiant in golden armour, resplendent in his fine clothing, she felt it was worth the effort and the expense it had cost her family.

“Greetings; I am your Master, but you can call me Lanfen if you wish. Will you fight for my cause?”

I'm interested. Might use a character I've used in previous RPs, since she fits this concept fairly well.

Fuyuki Park – Can’t Catch A Break

It seemed that neither Servant had chosen to pursue him, the Caster and Saber not making any moves in his direction either because they hadn’t followed which direction he had gone or because they didn’t want to leave the Masters vulnerable again. There were other possibilities as well, but those seemed the most likely to him.

With no immediate threats it was now up to him to decide what course of action to take next; well, it was his Master’s call ultimately but unless she spoke up then he would continue to act as he desired. He wanted to stay in the area around the park, lingering on the edges of the conflict as he waited for another opportunity to strike, but he knew that as long as the Caster was still present he would only find himself stymied once more even if he found another chance. He wanted, needed to kill something before this night was over; the young Magus whose fear and imminent death he could still taste on his tongue would be his first choice, but if he could gut that bitch Caster instead he would gladly take it.

If he waited long enough, then perhaps they would forget about him or think him gone. There were enough Servants still around that anything could still happen; the Servants protecting the Masters could be pulled away but a bigger threat or the Caster could find herself hurt or forced to flee. He could be patient, he could wait and he could stalk and he could bide his time for as long as was necessary. All it would take was for the Berserkers to drift too close to the Masters hiding spot for everything to be thrown into disarray.

Speaking of which, how was the ‘Stronger Berserker’ dealing with the demon girl?

Oh.

Oh no.

Assassin leapt, cycling power through his legs as he launched himself skyward with as much force and speed as he could, his presence concealment dropping away as he put all his focus towards surviving, his jump carrying him high above the building and Berserkers attack. The gust of wind was powerful and broad; anyone seeking to dodge the attack would find themselves caught in an attack that was wider than one would typically expect, but the leap of a Servant whose myth predominantly revolved around ‘jumping’ was more explosive than most and Assassin was able to avoid the worst of it.

But he did not escape unscathed. Although he avoided the worst of it the edge of the attack still caught him and Assassin could feel the monstrous force of the wind buffeting him. His legs were closest to the centre of the gale and suffered the worst of it, the wind lacerating them, tearing and drawing blood. When Assassin landed back in the park, his leap carrying him up and over Berserker, it was on legs that protested their rough treatment and which nearly buckled under him.

Rather than stay still this time, Assassin reactivated his Presence Concealment and pushed himself to move, another jump carrying him away from his landing spot and out of the range of Berserker’s attack should she lash out at that spot blindly.

Joseph joined Marcus in searching for incense, scanning the shelves and cabinets lining the walls for anything that looked promising, but was soon distracted by the sounds coming from outside. That the door was locked and they trapped inside may have actually been a blessing in disguise as what appeared to be a group of people, men judging by the voices, began to tear apart the room beyond the portal. Joseph stopped and stared at the door, as if standing still and holding his breath would somehow prevent them from trying to enter, until the men began banging on the door and demanding entry.

As if they didn’t already have enough reason to be suspicious of those on the other side, the man who spoke sounded strange, his voice affected in some way that made Joseph think the worst. He heard enough snippets from them to know they were searching for blood and he could understand why they would come to a doctors clinic of all places if that’s what they wanted; he knew what excessive blood could do to people, the addiction and the changes in personality it brought with it. He knew it all too intimately and he knew that opening the door was the last thing they should do.

That, of course, didn’t mean they wouldn’t get in eventually anyway. Marcus seemed to agree as he took up position near the door so as to better ambush the men as they inevitably broke through. Simple hand gestures conveyed what the other man wanted; he would kill the larger of the two and Joseph would kill the smaller. The plan only extended to the first two to come through, but preparing for more than that when they didn’t know what to expect was impractical. Killing though… would Joseph be able to kill another human being if need be? His hand gripped the axe handle tighter, reminding himself of what he held. He wasn’t sure that he could if he gave himself time to think about it, if he had to look a man in the eye as he swung his axe at them he would falter; better just to swing and hope for the best, put the idea of killing out of his mind for now and just attack. Needs must and all that; he could deal with his conscience when they were both alive at the end of this to do so.

Motion in his peripheral drew his attention and Joseph raised the axe and turned to the side, expecting one of the men outside to have somehow circled around behind them and found another entrance and found instead a man climbing out of a cot and moving in their direction. Another patient, waking up and finding himself in the same position as them. He walked towards them with hands up to show that he was not a threat and then gestured towards the barrel of weapons. Joseph considered what to do, weighing the risks of arming this stranger against the benefit of another sword arm to help with the group outside.

In the end trusting this man was no more foolish than trusting Marcus and an uncertain ally was better than the men outside overpowering them because this stranger wasn’t armed. Joseph reached towards the barrel and pulled out a weapon at random, finding himself with a short spear in one hand and the axe in the other. He measured them both for a moment before deciding to keep the spear for himself, throwing the axe towards the other man with a little more care than Marcus had shown him.

“We’ll handle the first two, you stay back.”

Fuyuki Park – Can’t Even Murder Someone in Peace These Days

Something was amiss. No sooner had Assassin appeared than did an opaque barrier snap into place around the two vulnerable Magus, walling them off from his attempted attack and preventing it from reaching them. Had he been anticipated? Or were these Masters, or more likely one of their Servants, so paranoid as to prepare defences against an assassination attempt from an Assassin who may or may not even have been present? Whatever the case, he had been thwarted, swindled and even bamboozled, robbed of a kill that was rightfully his and just out of reach. There was only one possible way he could react to such injustice, only one thing he could do to salvage this situation. Magical energy thrummed within him as he prepared his secret weapon.

He ran away.

Cycling Prana into his legs he launched himself into the air, not pausing for a single moment to see what kind of follow-up awaited him now that his presence was revealed, his boosted jump carrying him up and away even as the young Saber landed next to where he had just stood. If he had hesitated even a moment longer the sword that swung down would have cleaved his arm from his body, or at least shattered every bone in his hand as it deflected his metal claws, as it was it hit nothing but air as Assassin looked down on the scene from above.

Assassin landed some distance away, though still within the ‘combat area’ as it was, and stood facing Saber and the two Masters that had been sealed away from him. There was another figure as well, a youthful looking thing with white robes and an expression that was impossible to see through the distorted static beneath her hood; A Caster? The barrier must have been hers.

“A beast? Evil? Me?” Assassin placed a hand to his chest and recoiled from the words as if struck physically by the accusation. “I’m but a man, more human than you I daresay, who enjoys playing pranks.”

Now that another Servant had appeared, and a Knight-class at that, there would be nothing Assassin could do to hurt either of the Masters; this night would end in disappointment for both him and his Master. There wouldn’t even be the possibility of turning things around and snatching some kind of win from this so long as the Caster had her barriers in place; she had anticipated him, laying this trap even as she fought the Saber, and no doubt had plenty of other tricks in store should he continue this. He would love to do something about that, ripping her throat out for example, but this was his loss to accept.

There was always that, but even then he would struggle to defeat a Saber head on even without Caster’s interference.

“Oh, you never need to tell me to run away Master; it’s my specialty.”

Assassin bent his legs and pumped more magical energy into the limbs before throwing himself skyward, leaping high into the air and letting his momentum carry him out of the park and back to the roof of the building he had perched on earlier. He activated his Presence Concealing along the way, his presence vanishing as he landed in a crouch.

Would any of them follow him? There was no chance of them turning on each other again now that he had left he felt, but perhaps they would be more concerned with their Masters’ safety than pursuing a declawed Assassin. Or they might turn their attention back to the true demon in their midst.

I'll make a post tomorrow. @Th3King0fChaos any preference in what weapon Joseph throws Ishin's way?
