600 amas, Red-hilted dagger, Leather armor, and a cloak
The past week had been an interesting turn of events. One moment it was standard business, moving cargo, fighting the odd brigand here and there, and perhaps even some occasioanl hijinks; courtesy of Tanithil. But this week was different, a brand new member was added to the crew...a human to boot! Tanithil somewhat held himself responsible for the magic training of the man. He seemed plenty capable, and spoke a fair amount about his home as well as the circumstances of his death. It was surreal to say the least, talking to a "dead man". Tanithil simply shrugged it off and focused on some of the important things.
For one, this guy was now, for lack of a better term, precious cargo with legs. The fate of the world could very well rest on their ability to bring this man to some hidden lair of some kind. Tanithil found the adventure intriguing to say the least, but figured it would come with an unimaginable amount of hurdles and challenges. Before they could even think of that however, Ismael needed to learn his way around casting magic. The Captain of course had his strength in magic, but his brainpower was far better put to use steering the vessel and guiding the crew. At least that's what Tanithil figured. If magic training went to the Captain, that just meant less work for him after all. As for everyone else, their strengths lay elsewhere and would be just as valuable to the human in his time to come on Avalia.
As the ship pulled into port, Tanithil would help bring in the sails and fetch Ismael from below deck as Captain Morr requested. He took his own cloak and draped it over the man with a short explanation. "Would be bit of a shit job on our end if people saw you on our ship day 1. You can borrow this for now until we get you a proper disguise." The two made it above deck, where Tanithil promptly plopped his fanny onto the stairs leading to the upper deck to hear what news the Captain had for them. He heard his name called, causing him to raise a hand in casual greeting with a "Yo!". Much to Tanithil's expectations, he would be in charge of making sure Ismael didn't get lobbed on his first real day in the world.
The crew received their orders, Arlen being forced to count the cargo and everyone else getting free reign to enjoy an unexpected vacation. He knew Amisra specifically would love a week to enjoy herself. He personally thought the girl worked herself too hard but she would likely tap his skull a little too hard if he voiced his concern. He jumped up from the stair and looked at Ismael with a grin on the side of his mouth. "Welcome to Port Vanarosa, friend. We got quite a bit we can do here. But first things first..." He briskly walked up to Amisra, tapping her on the shoulder and gesturing back to his 'young charge' as he would likely joke.
"I'm thinking he could use one of those fancy disguise rings. Think you could spare some cash and split the bill with me so we can protect the fate of the world?" He casually dropped that line and turned to partially face Ismael once more. "If not we can always try and....find one?"
For those who would watch Farim closely, they would see his normally pleased disposition fade the moment the Grand Vizier's voice sounded in the room. His head barely turned to look at the man, his eyes rolling instinctively as he knew just what was about to commence. By the gods, must every thing be about you? Cry me a river, sit amongst the tears, and call that your chair for all I care. His face became more pleased as somone spoke back against his father. It was a pleasant surprise to hear Lorenzo call him out for his rather outlandish behavior. While yes this whole situation was because of some silly misunderstanding and was to get our favor back, this was very far from home. These are not Alidasht laws, nor Alidasht nobles, nor Alidasht customs. So many difference between worlds that Farim knew his father would care little about. His demeanor, however, softened as he heard his friend speak up in his ear in a hushed whisper.
"Are all your family gatherings like this?"
His voice was still low, but he made sure his father would hear this part in particular. "You should see dinners at home. We often take bets on how many courses we can get through before the Vizier turns some random topic into a pissing contest." He turned to look at Ariella, a more private tone in his voice that eased off the pure spite he held for his father. "We are passionate folks, and this can be causing some big tensions amongst others. I suppose you just get used to it after awhile, but I won't let them pull some manuever like that with you. The Sun God as my witness."
Farim had been fully prepared to have a few servants simply lift the entire chair up for Hafiz to have his "precious spot" but it would seem that matters resolved themselves. He looked around as the aroma of food began to hit his nostrils a little harder than before. "Is it just me or are those appetizers smelling simply delectable? I'm starting to get quite famished." For the first time in a few moments he spoke clearly, for anyone at the table to hear, and hoping to finally steer the conversation away from his sinful dope of a father figure.

Likes: Books - “I particularly love a good mystery.” Plays - “Show me anything, just don’t make it boring!” Music - “A good wood-based sound is quite literally music to my ears.” Cleaning -”Believe it or not, it's easier to keep things at my standards if I do it myself.” Dislikes: Being patronized - “I know what I’m doing, I promise.” Being lied to - “It’s not that I’m mad, just betrayed you couldn’t trust me.” Strong smells - “I just tend to get headaches a little easily if I’m too overwhelmed. Forgive me.” Paperwork - “It tends to drag on far longer than it should and takes up my entire afternoon on occasion.”
Sexuality: Heterosexual - "Sorry to all the other gentlemen in the yard, but I'm afraid that is simply not my purview."
Hobbies: Enjoys nice meals at outdoor cafes - “There’s a certain air of peace about them that really sets my mind at ease.” Reading books in the privacy of his room or study - “I do find myself enjoying those moments where I can truly be alone with my thoughts for a time.” Horseback Riding - “My body is a temple and I intend to keep it active, mobile, and well kept for as long as I can.” Practices calligraphy often - “My penmanship must be paramount if I’m going to be an author and a politician.”
Life Goals/Dreams: “Truthfully, I do have many errant goals in life. To be an author for one, I’ve read enough to where I’ve started to take an interest in writing myself. Perhaps a coming of age detective has to solve the mystery of his parents murder? Ah but I’m getting away from myself.”
“My father wants the best for this country, as do I, so I intend to try and live a busy political life to make things admirable for our countrymen. My mother also wants the best for our family, so obviously that means marriage is on the table. I do hope it’s at least with someone who likes me rather than just being another accessory to manage on the side.”
“Overall, I’d say I’d like to do well for the country and family both I suppose. A loving wife, a few rugrats running about our halls, and most likely piles upon piles of legislation, ordinances, agreements, treaties, and all sorts of ‘fun’ things for me to sort through. But even as a politician I would still take care of family first. Time for family outings, dinners, and simply time spent together is a must for any future I hold.”
Personality Summary: “I suppose it would be folly of me to talk about myself in the third person as if I am some end all be all gentleman, so I will let the respectable narrator take over.”
Well that was certainly interesting. Thank you, Drake. As you may see, Drake is a typical gentleman, wanting to please others and keep an appropriate image. He is cool, calm, collected, and tries to stay about emotional outbursts but he is far from perfect. Rumor has it that just the other week he - “Okay maybe don’t share everything, Sir Narrator.” - Okay fine.
He prefers discussion over arguments, and peace over violence. He is also ever eager to learn new things, no limitations! While his favorite topics are typically history and science, he does enjoy all sorts of trivia-based knowledge and has even found himself reading tabloids from time to time to keep up on social happenings. How scandalous! “I’m beginning to trust you less and less…”

So do please consider me this season when you're perusing your next set of suitors, ladies."

When you were upset, where was your sanctuary?: “My room. It is a man’s last line of defense against the unyielding world and the stimuli it so uncaringly provides.”

Were you an obedient child or defiant?: “Obedient. Lord knows I did everything I could to not get a thrashing or a chastising.”

Have you ever been in love? : “Here and there, yes, but sadly I’ve been far too busy to capitalize on it.”

Do you believe in love at first sight? Why or why not?: “How can novelists write such detailed experiences if not for their own personal account? And how would we even know about such a concept if someone hadn’t already experienced it themself? I think that answers your question.”
What does marriage mean to you?: “Commitment and a promise to someone that you both may create a future together and that your love truly is the deepest one that can be felt. At least that’s what I’d like to believe, but I know modern day society says otherwise.”

What else…I would say that some see my lack of violence or agitation means I am a push-over but I digress.”
If you could go back in time and change anything in your past, what would it be?: “I would take responsibility for the one time I blamed Ariella for the broken plate. Bit trivial I know but my cowardice that day will haunt me until the day I die.”
What is your greatest fear?: “Becoming a shell of who I am, or perhaps being swept to the wayside and forgotten as time marches on. It is an inevitable fate, that last one, but I’ll do my damndest to fight it.”
What are your pet peeves?: “Don’t. Chew. With your mouth. Open. Don’t interrupt me while I talk. Don’t step on my favorite shoes. Mind your manners to the help, and by gods hold your cutlery at least partially well! If I had to get those burned into my cerebral mindset so shall you!”
When you are in a sour mood, do you like to be alone or with others? “My more selfish ego would say myself. But the more sensible side of me knows I would need a sweet or caring soul near me to better ease my poor mood.”
Are you more likely to fight with your fists or your tongue?: “I would fight with my mouth if that is the term you wish to use. Sounds a little risque to me, but I suppose that’s the point of it. I prefer the spoken word over physical altercation, but I took boxing classes for a reason, you know.”
Time: Morning Location: Southwest of Roshmi City Interaction: Brigitte @Tae, Mister Luum @FunnyGuy, Rue @Potter, and Bowyn @Helo Mention:
There was certainly a lot to process in such a short amount of time. The first few days alone Bardulf had been coping with the fact that he was essentially dead to his original world. His family would likely worry about him, and for that he regretted not being able to say his proper goodbyes. But as his father would've told him - "Son, a man only has so long to mourn or grieve before being forced backed out in to the world. Be ready for you will see this yourself many times in your life." - He certainly wasn't wrong. Bardulf steeled himself and focused more on the world in front of him as best he could, shelving the more depressing thoughts for another day. It was rather easy to take in the sights and the new fauna he could explore and experience for himself.
Every sight he saw he would take a moment to appreciate it's beauty before being quickly whisked back towards the group. The long walk was certainly unexpected, but Bardulf had spent over half his life walking in the wilderness, so his legs were in fine shape for the journey. He was rather timid around these folks at first, namely Mister Luum who seemed to be the head of the group. His bold nature was an unusual strain of interaction for Bardulf but he slowly grew accustomed to his mannerisms day by day. He found it odd that the one with red hair, he believed her name to be Brigette, did not speak for awhile. But honestly, Bardulf had little words to share at first too so he simply let it be.
The first two people looked at least somewhat human compared to what Bardulf was used to, but the later two fairies, Rue and Bowyn, certainly left Bardulf staring perhaps a smidge longer than was socially acceptable. But he was simply too curious not to. As the days went on, he found Bowyn to be fairly serious in their interactions, meaning Bardulf made sure not to bother him unless it was truly necessary. Rue on the other hand, was rather sweet and often the one to yoink Bardulf back towards the group whenever he would wander or stare for too long at an exotic plant or animal. She was also the best at finding him whenever he snuck away to be by himself at night. His old habits were hard to break, but he began to see that he was more or less a VIP in this setting, and should try to not separate himself for fear of being ambushed, kidnapped, or worse.
He had a flurry of questions, but he knew in time Mister Luum would likely answer most if not all of them. It seemed to be part of his roundabout methodology. And as the approached their destination, Roshmi City, Mister Luum exclaimed to Bardulf about it's beauty and the wonder of there being no trouble on their way to this city. He spoke to Mister Luum with a low voice, just creeping about a whisper. yet the sheer base in his voice carried it rather far enough for everyone to hear.
"Well, Mister Luum, it's certainly gorgeous. Everything here is still so naturally preserved but cities still seem to flourish so much. Makes me glad." He paused before addressing the part about there being 'no danger'. "I would prefer no danger honestly. I've already had a few embarrassing hiccups with this lightning magic of mine. I should probably get it under wraps before long." He said sheepishly, thinking back to the times he would jolt people when he bumped into them or when he sneezed and sent a small bolt of lightning into a nearby tree.
It was around then that the red-haired woman, at Mister Luum's request, began to chatter about another elf. Bardulf took a moment to focus on where Brigette pointed and suddenly a wave of anxiety hit his body. It had been quite some time since he felt murderous intent like that, but he knew the scent and feel of a predator when he felt it. Momentary flashes of his last encounter with the bear who gave him scar flickered in his mind, but he waved it away before looking to group.
"Definitely being chased. Something big is hunting. At least it feels big. It's making the hairs on my neck stand up straight." He hoisted his cowl up and looked in the direction he felt the presence, looking around to the group for anyone to make the first move before deciding to jump into something like this.

Farim would smile brightly at his friend, eyeing the gown she had chosen for the evening and nodding in approval. "You are looking splendid, not at all too much!" He held out a hand for her to take before turning towards the hallway leading to the dining room. "No matter what you wear I am sure someone like yourself will always be a radiant beauty. He said with a wink, gently leading her towards the room where everyone was seated.
An array of familiar sensations filled his lungs and nostrils. His demeanor lightened up even more as he was reminded of home, his hand seemed to absent-mindedly grip onto Ariella's as he took in the sights. He looked around and saw his family amidst a few other faces he had yet to see. Before he could address them he would first turn towards the Sultan.
"Ah, dear Sultan, always the brightest in the room. I am happy to see you in good health, and hope the day's toils have not had much wear on you. This will be a fun dinner!" He said with a deep bow before beginning to walk around the table with Ariella towards an ideal spot to sit. The first one he saw was a young man who had an outstretched hand greeting him about his exploits as a tradesman. He smiled and met the hand with his own, shaking it firmly and beaming with pride at the notion that even in far away lands his trades were talked about. "It is certainly nice to meet you as well. With a stature like yourself I believe you must be one of the Danrose brothers." He took a moment looking the man up and down to take his guess, as he hadn't caught the man's name yet. "Prince Auguste, I presume?" He ended the handshake and gave a much more reserved bow before walking over with Ariella towards their seats.
He stopped very briefly however once I saw the man sitting at the other end of the table. He knew that seat would be for his "father", whom he despised, yet another man he had not yet met sat in that chair. The man seemed to be teeming with his own sense of pride and confidence that Farim had to admit was quite bold of him. He walked beside the man and stopped to lean down and whisper. "I do not know you, sir, but I should warn you that the Grand Vizier usually sits opposite of the Sultan. So do be careful."
He continued in stride towards to the two open seats near the man he just spoke to and pulled a seat out for Ariella to place herself. He had given her the seat nearest to Nahir since he had noticed a slight disposition from her when she walked by the strangely confident man. He then took a seat between her and the man he would soon learn to be Lorenzo before looking around the table.
"I am happy to see so many faces, some old, some new. For those not properly acquianted I am the one and only Farim Hafiz Kadir. Pleasure to meet you all and to see some of you again." His hand casually gestured towards Ariella, a smile across his face while he spoke next. "This is the lovely Lady Ariella Edwards. I do hope you don't mind that I invited her. She is but one of many lovely people I've met on my first day here. This is certainly quite the city with extremely wonderful people thus far. I hope for those whose names I do not know that we can become acquianted before we part ways this evening."
He looked towards his three cousins lined up to his right. "I trust you all had yourselves some fun in the park after our short forray. I believe I even heard some common folk referring to a growling tiger over by the pancake event, so even cousin Mayet is enjoying her time here!" He chuckled, thinking again about how they had themselves a bit of an exuberant show of fun and games earlier, but quickly waved his hand as if to stop himself from going further. "Ah but alas I came amidst a conversation. I believe Nahir was just speaking about swordplay at the colliseum. I would love to hear more!"
Farim had made his way to the guest house after the events at the tavern, smirking to himself about what hi-jinx that his bird Thara would get into. He trusted her to carry out his secret little task and get out unnoticed, and would likely see the results later on in the evening. For now, he had to prepare himself for dinner. He approached a nearby servant, a man by the name of Tariq, and requested a few items sent to his chambers promptly. He closed his door and set his outfit onto his bed, slowly undressing himself and setting his worn clothes to hang on a nearby collapsable clothes hangar he had brought from back home.
A few short knocks sounded at the door, prompting Farim to answer. He stood away from the door and cracked it just enough for Tariq to see his face and slide the bowl and its contents to him. "Thank you, my friend. Here, for your troubles." He gave the man a gold coin and took the bowl. Inside the ceramic dish were small bits of resin, some powdered sugar, and dehydrated strawberries. He got to work, mixing the ingredients in a crude fashion before setting the bowl back down. He went back to the door, peeking out as he cracked it open slightly to make sure the coast was clear. He closed and locked the door behind him, his fingers snapping together as he silently muttered the word for flame in his native tongue "Lahab!" The word was barely above a whisper, not wanting to be seen practicing magic so boldly like this. He placed the flames into the bowl and let the ingredients light before whispering a soft chant while he held his necklace in his hands.
"May the forces that separated you now bind you. The world itself made of so many parts, now made whole. May this exchange be equal, through and through. To the scales of alchemy I render these materials, and for the fuel, I give my soul." The crystal went from a dim glow to a bright glow to a blinding glow of light as the spell began to take form. The flame licked away the ingredients and behind it left a few small pieces of neatly packed resin squares colored pink like the strawberries he had placed in the bowl. He took one of the pieces of resin and popped it into his mouth like candy and began to chew. Feels a bit excessive to get gum this way but all those damned stores were closed. He simply wanted to mask the odor of alcohol on his breath, because despite being sober he knew his family would smell the sour stench of his shots earlier and accuse him of being drunk. He chewed on it for a few moments as he got into his new attire. Then, a few short knocks at the door nearly sent him out of his clothes.
He quickly turned on his heels, unlocking and opening the door to see Tariq again. "Forgive me, sir. But there is a Lady Edwards here to see you." Farim would nod, and talk with an excited smile. "Oh she is a friend I met today, she will be joining me for dinner. I will join her in just a moment, you may let her know!" He quickly closed the door once more, getting himself in proper order and dress for the upcoming dinner. His turban neatly tucked his hair away and matched the clothes he wore, with a small ruby embezzled into the front of it. He wanted to be flashy, but not so much that it would outdo whatever it is the Sultan may be wearing.
He spat the magically spawned gum out from his mouth and into a nearby bin for trash before breathing into his palm to check his breath. Not your best, but it'll have to do. He walked down the hall and walked into the main hall where his newly met friend would be waiting. He took a moment's pause to admire her gown, nodding in approval as he slowly approached her. "Ariella, I am glad to be seeing you! I do hope ..." He paused before coughing slightly to stop himself. "..things went well?" He would pause as he walked close, offering a long bow as he bent forward at his waist. He righted his posture and held a hand out to her. "If you would prefer to speak on it later that is also okay. I do believe dinner will be started soon."

History:
Disclaimer: Story is very long, skip to the “Where are they now” section for essentially the TL;DR version.
Tanithil grew up in the kingdom of Thael Taesi, which was once an independent kingdom among many in Malthemoor. His family was rather close to the royal family due to his grandmother Zarra’s involvement in the military forces under the rule of King Keyral. She had enlisted as an infantryman back in the days of the previous king, and slowly worked her way up through hard work and the respect of her fellow officers, but they always did note her distinct bloodthirst and desire for conquest. After she took an oath to bend the knee to the ruling king and to cease her endless requests for military conquest, King Keyral saw the potential in her to be a strong leader for his military and thus gave her the rank of General.
After she attained this rank, Zarra met with a lower ranking officer and immediately fell in love. It was one of the few moments she ever allowed herself to be vulnerable, and it would soon be the last. She and Thallan Malaggar started a family together, raising a few children, namely Tanithil’s father, Arlen, and 2 other siblings Zarra’s children chose civilian life, wanting a more simple, honest, and safe place away from the more brutal realities of military life. Zarra had respected this wish, and let the recently retired Thallan, Ayla, Arlen’s wife, and Arlen purchase a home in the main city surrounding the castle.
Ayla and Arlen happily raised him as an only child, Tanithil, with Thallan for many years in a modest house. Zarra would even take vacations every now and then to come see her children and grandchildren. But one night, while Zarra had gone on a diplomacy mission to a neighboring kingdom, a man had broken into the family home and attempted to both rob and kill everyone present. Thallan, being the soldier that he was, sprung into action to stop the man from hurting his family. However in the process, he was stabbed and mortally wounded. While this made the thug run away and guaranteed everyone else’s safety, it was an untimely end for a noble soul.
Zarra returned home furious that her loving husband was murdered in his own home by “some drunk”. By all accounts, it made no sense. The house was locked with magical spells, and Thallan, while old, wasn’t senile. Many speculate that the entire story wasn’t told, or that someone else had something to play in it, but unfortunately no details were shared. From that day onward, Zarra became far more mean and dark emotionally.
Tanithil, being only in his early 50s at the time, truly didn’t know what to think of the entire situation, but he did notice some strange occurrences. A strange man outside, the glint of a small object flying through the air, then suddenly, his grandfather was laid on the floor. To this day he’s unsure, but it was this death that led him to want to become someone who could protect others. While not physically strong, he had learned in his school the rudimentary forms of magic and erebokinesis his kind were capable of. He began his pursuit of knowledge and started to hone his magical skills so he could become a hero like his grandfather and grandmother. That is until one fateful day….
As the years passed, Tanithil grew more close to the royal family, and even befriended their daughter, Amisra. His constant trips to the castle to study in the library or practice in the dueling areas had meant he would see both Zarra and Amisra quite often. Zarra would often coach him on how to read situations in battle, and how to properly assess danger to counter it. Her teachings were harsh, but full of knowledge and insight from centuries of battle.
Amisra had offered a more social and friendly approach to his visits, giving him yet another reason to look forward to making the long walk up to the gate. They often shared meals, talked about their own training, and made light jokes about events around the castle. The two grew close and would even spar together to see whose brand of combat was “better”. Sometimes even Zarra would join them in a special 2v1 sparring match. It was these matches that Tanithil would often take a back seat and instead support his friend with the use of his stealthy magicks to give Amisra an edge against his grandmother. Of course, they never won, but sometimes they almost landed a few blows.
They all had spent over a century together training and learning like this, to the point where Tanithil even took up a temporary residency in the barracks to reduce the constant need for walking to and fro. Shortly after he had turned 150, he noticed his grandmother begin to become resentful towards the staff of the castle and even the staff. She would go off on random solo excursions she claimed were “for the good of the country” with no further explanation. It wasn’t until she returned with the full might of another nation's military that Tanithil realized how serious she had become.
In the years of peace that the Keyral family had wanted to uphold, a neighboring Dark Elf nation known as Daka had begun amassing troops and forcing all other countries to unite under a single banner; the banner of King Zanithel. Initially, their approach was diplomatic, but it held a sinister force behind it. They had told King Keyral that he could keep his title, his land, everything essentially except for his power. King Keyral was to surrender his sovereignty over to King Zanithel or he would be executed for high treason. It was all a load of bull, and seemed like a bad dream to Tanithil, but seeing his grandmother in full plate armor with a scowl on her face as she stared down King Keyral told him it was very much real.
Three days were given before both Thael Taesi’s forces and Daka’s forces would march on the castle and forcibly occupy it. King Keyral of course said no, but was still thrown into the dungeon to think about his decision until the fateful day. Amisra, her mother, and sister were all left to live in their quarters and were welcome to cut off ties from their King should he choose not to bend the knee. Of course, none of them would, but the offer was still made. Tanithil was, however, discarded. Or rather, he wasn’t considered a threat to King Zanithel or General Zarra. This proved to be advantageous to him. They apparently were under the notion he would go along with this farce of a plan. He would sooner die than forsake the country he grew up in, and began planning with Amisra and her family on how they would escape.
Word however, traveled quickly. A few servants had begun hearing whispers and rumors of the royal family looking to run away, and by the end of the 2nd day, Tanithil and Amisra were practically rushing to get everything together. Since nobles weren’t allowed to leave the castle, Tanithil had entrusted a friendly servant he had gotten to know with the task of getting a carriage ready for them to escape in. Fearful for his life, the servant told the General the day of the escape, where she immediately sent the man to the dungeon and began making for the royal chambers.
The doors to the room cracked open as General Zarra swarmed in with a few guards at the ready to arrest everyone present. Amisra and Tanithil had been packing some things in the back room while Amisra’s younger sister and mother had been keeping a lookout. All they could hear were the guttural screams before being abruptly silenced. Tanithil and Amisra ran out to confront the noise, and saw two limp bodies laid on the bedroom floor. Amisra’s mother held a knife and her sister had the scorch marks of what looked like a spell that either collided with her or perhaps backfired in her hand.
In a flash Amisra had only curses and insults for them as she became enraged at her family’s mistreatment and unfair deaths. The General merely laughed at the pair, pulling her sword and ordering the guards to stand down. She decided it was time for one final spar between the two, all gloves off. It only took a few moments to prove the skill gap between them was still rather large. Amisra held the front as best she could, but the General’s cold and calculating moves simply were too overpowering in her enraged state. Tanithil stayed to the side as they brawled, chucking spells and distractions to get the General to slip up, but nothing cracked her tight focus on the battle. After a few strong clashes, Amisra was knocked to the ground, her weapons on the ground as the General raised her sword in a final coup de grace blow meant for Tanithil’s friend.
He jumped forward, a swirl of Lightslategray mists propelling his body forward as he pushed his friend out of the way. He surrounded his arm in a veil of coagulated shadows, but the sword was simply too well made, and the blow was too strong. It tore through his magic and then his hand like a knife through butter. The scene before him began to burn into his memory as the sheer amount of blood and death was more than he was prepared for that day. He felt his strength rapidly leave him before hearing a faint voice of his friend. She screamed at her for hurting her grandson, lashing out and pushing her away. His vision blurred, but he swore he saw a figure at the door, some voices rang out, and the General put her weapon away and stormed out.
It was only when the guards began to approach them that Tanithil’s senses sharpened. In a moment of desperation he gathered what magical power he had left and surrounded Amisra in Lightslategray mist, whisking both of their bodies away through the nearby window and onto the palace grounds. All their preparations were laid to waste, and Tanithil was mortally wounded. He hated every little aspect of their failed plan, but he would still look to Amisra and vow that they would make it out of this corrupt kingdom that Zanithel was attempting to make.
After King Zanithel usurped the rule of King Keyral, killing the previous king and the rest of the royal family except for his dear friend Amisra, Tanithil made his escape outside the city limits with Amisra with nothing much besides a small bag of supplies that he was able to take from a nearby shop. Despite his mortal injury at the hands of his conquest-obsessed grandmother, General Zarra, he kept himself together as best he could. Without his friend, he isn’t sure how far he would’ve gotten. She held onto him and supported him throughout the city as he used his magic to disguise their escape route. From shadow bombs of smoke to random collisions and crashes caused by his shadow weapons, Tanithil didn’t care what he needed to do so long as he guaranteed their safety. He had a moment where he thought it was important to see his parents, but decided it could compromise their entire escape if he made any detours now.
As they made it further east, it became apparent the cold weather would be yet another obstacle in their wake. The two elves huddled closely together and made their way as far as they could from the city. With his stubbornness to quit, and Amisra’s support, they made it to the coastline, where they saw a fishing village being raided by a rogue group of what they assumed to be pirates. While normally this would be vexing, Tanithil saw it as an opportunity to escape. The two made their way to the ship, and convinced a light elf by the name of Drosis to help them escape this tyrannical government. As luck would have it, the man also disliked the rising dark elf influence and decided to take them onto his ship.
A long trip to Aldrakh proved to be difficult in its own ways, but Tanithil bore with the pulsing pain in his stump. Drosis, being a light elf, had some healing magic available to him. This helped Tanithil through the wincing waves of pain and helped him grow more friendly to the rest of the crew. One thing he didn’t expect was how friendly and personable they had been during their journey. He was thankful for meeting these “thieves on the sea”, and even thought to himself it wouldn’t be so bad on the open seas. Once they docked on yet another small port town, the two set for Ironhold, wishing their new friends a safe journey to wherever they would go.
During their next 100 years, they would spend 40 of those in Ironhold. Tanithil particularly would associate himself with the criminal element in the city and make a small name for himself, even earning himself a keepsake in the form of a small red dagger. He’s fond of the people he met but not so proud of what he had to do under their tutelage. He also met a dwarf by the name of Urnol Wraithaxe, who was a master tinkerer. He even made Tanithil a brand new metal prosthetic hand and gave Amisra a job while they lived there. But after 40 years, Tanithil agreed with his friend that it was time to go on the run in a place that wasn’t so easily discovered and ransacked. So they reached out to now Captain Drosis once more and offered to join their crew. There was little hesitation from the Captain as he hadn’t minded the two elves one bit. Tanithil now resides upon the deck of the Saltrunner as a seafaring pirate, free to do as he pleases. Just the way he likes it really.

Fitness Level(If you’re active, please list how. Sports activity? Etc): ⋆ Very active. Well as active as one can be on a boat. Back in the city Tanithil would often scale the sides of buildings and run through back streets with proficient dexterity. His boat life may not let his leg strength flourish but his arms have begun to grow from all the lifting and towing he needs to do on board.
What are your character’s physical strengths? ⋆ Good runner, both sprinting and long distance ⋆ Great endurance, has had to train his stamina since birth due to naturally low starting point
What are your character’s physical weaknesses? ⋆ Low maximum output. ⋆ Low recovery rate, if tired out he needs time to rest

Hand-to-Hand Combat: Amisra has shown Tanithil a few things, and the backstreet slums have taught Tanithil how to handle himself in combat, but he has received no formal training. He has slowly honed his hand-to-hand skills over the last 100 years as well.
⋆ Offensive Erebokinesis: Tanithil started his more creative endeavors into erebokinesis around 90 years ago, about a decade after he had started his stay in Ironhold.
⋆ Shrouding: Shrouding is something Tanithil has done since he could cast spells, roughly the age of 50 is when he really began to experiment and learn the different ways he can hide and change his body's appearance. Roughly 200 years total.
⋆ Shielding: Tanithil began learning how to protect himself after he began his more nefarious and criminal dealings. When a deal goes south, you gotta know how to protect your back. 150 years total.
Magical Abilities:
Best Abilities: Tanithil's toolkit of abilities is almost like a utility belt to him. He takes the shadows he conjures and forms them into whatever objects he needs. A weapon, a shield, some armor, or some form of tool. Some favorites of his include:
> A sticky whip that allows him to quickly scale large structures or bind opponents > A gauntlet that can serve as both armor for his side and a strong melee weapon. > A curved scimitar-like blade that can change shape mid swing > A sphere of pure energy, acting almost like a gravity hole. > A small set of caltrops to trip up or maim his opponents mid combat > A pair of wing capable of flight for himself and at most 1 other person
