Noble Arms is now either four years old, or three years and eleven months. The third thread had lasted for more than one year.

My Roleplay, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, will reach its 4th year in June or July. It's been a long journey.

Despite its massive flaws, my RP, Noble Arms: The ASEAN War, is still one of the longest ongoing RPs in RPGuild - It turns 4 years old in July and the current thread itself is more than a year old.

I am dropping Leonard L. Scipio and Scipio Industries and Finance; just can't find a good story to tell about him.

Elias would find himself privately called by Ken as he was in transit, but this time, the tone was harder but still amicable. Something had happened, which was clarified as the young man said:

“Hey, uh, Mr. Folen? Sorry about this, but my group of child soldier freed slaves has been ‘activated’. We have to attack a slaving ship that has captured a few thousand or so Vodrans and that ship is going to be outside Paradise. To complicate the situation, we have to free the slaves through any means possible even though it will get Mr. Graeff’s ire, meaning that we cannot just attack the slavers after they made their deal. Normally, I would just attack anyway...but I don’t want my team-mates enslaved again or worse.”

Ken managed to sound sheepish as he continued, “Sorry to ask for this even though you owe me nothing, but...I need help. Lots of it.”

Elias sat within the cabin of the Ark, preparing to give his men their briefing, before his RTO came up to him, commlink in hand, mentioning someone calling. Elias took the receiver, listening in and fashioning a reply.

“Elias Folen, Viper Security Solutions here… Right. Kid, I don’t know how to say this, but I’m not exactly able at the moment. My employer is splitting my team in two and sending me to deal with another contract. I’ll see what I can do. My second squad is still on-planet holding the fort. I may be able to get them to assist.” Elias stopped speaking, rubbing his face as he thought.

Ken’s happiness was evident. “Thanks! I knew I can depend on you, Mr. Folen. I and my team will be departing off-world once the arms deal is done. I may know a few others, including another person named Elias (@Zarkun) who is infamous for freeing slaves. If we time this right, we might be able to gather a coalition which would satisfy my superiors’ request for slaver blood,” It was then that Ken realized he mistrusted his remote superiors more than Elias, “and yet free the slaves while respecting Paradise’s neutrality.”

Then, a pause. “Also, a few more moments. My old trainer in weapons has just come here, also from off-world. She’s a good person, but not prone to accepting orders even though I am technically commanding the mission - she’s older than me and also suffered worse than me in slavery. She also craves slavers’ blood. How do I manage her?”

Yes, part of him hurt at having to refer to Lez in that way. But that was how he saw things; he may not be actually right.

“Make your authority known and your position clear. Be stubborn, but not an ass. Be confident, but not egotistical. Respect her and let it be known you expect respect back. That’s about all the advice I have for ya’.” Elias responded, cutting off and still surfing his datapad as he spoke.
Ken’s smile stayed on his face; he now knew what to do.

((OOC: I am assuming that Lez didn’t come with Ken and Puevi to the communications room after all.))
Scipio Industries and Finance

There was no Drunk Dug with a gambling problem to be found for torture. This vexed Leonard greatly. As he sat on his luxurious throne in The Gamechanger's bridge, he at least reassured himself that he had a pretty planet to view; the lush and watery world of Dandoran, whose continents and oceans were pristine due to the planet's obscure position. This obscure position rendered it a suitable hiding place for smugging cartels, but now, with his faction's decision to set up a base there, this little planet was going to make its mark on Galactic History.

Already, The Gamechanger had placed itself in geosyncrhonous orbit above an old Rebel Base on the equatorial side of the continent. This Rebel Base, once held by one Saponza, had been abandoned just before Endor, and might - might - be converted into a fortress and palace for Leonard to settle on. Not merely that, but his communications team had been eavesdropping on hyperspace transmissions, seeking out the latest developments in the war.

<Moff Jacsen Orro, this is Moff Aran Mortifus. I am under attack from an unknown force and find myself on the backfoot. I request your aid with the defense of the Tanarus system and in return for it, I will align myself with you and help to convince the other remaining Moffs to do so. Once more, this is Moff Aran Mortifus asking for reinforcements.>

This message replayed itself like music to Leonard's ears. While he did ponder loaning money to the Imperial Remnants, perhaps to Jascen Orro himself, he was honest enough with himself to know that he loved hearing the misfortunes of others. He would then give orders to his crew:

"Wait for ships coming here; ships from the Tanarus system. We will pay them to tell us exactly what happened there so that we can see if there is any profit to be made from it." A smirk. "I have a good feeling about this..."'

@Sep@Zarkun
Guys, sorry about this, but I will have to post for Scipio Industries and Finance tomorrow or the day after that.
Faction Logo(If applicable):

Faction Name: Scipio Industries and Finance.

Faction Classification: Independent Warlord masquerading as a Corporation and Bank.

Faction Leader: Leonard L. Scipio.

Faction Members(Players):

Important NPCs:

Ken Neumann, Former PC

Faction Assets: (Ships, strongholds, manpower, credits, access to weaponry. Last three can be rough estimates)

The Gamechanger - A Venator-class Star Destroyer that was retrofitted to serve as a factory ship, the Gamechanger now serves as Leonard L. Scipio's home and the centre of his operations. Thanks to Leonard's money, the ship is brimming with weaponry both common and special; lasers, ion cannons, torpedoes, and turbolasers. Not merely that, but it can use tractor beams to attract small asteroids, pieces of scrap metal, or even enemy starfighters and small craft into its depths; living pilots are taken for interrogation while droids and vehicles are melted down to create new ground troops and starfighters once the battle is over - it cannot use its armament and forges at the same time.

L/AAT Shuttlesx6 - Imperial Transports bought and smuggled to the Corporate Sector before Leonard's exile.

Ton-Falk Carrier x1 containing several wings of Droid Tri-Fighters and Hyena Bombers.

Dreadnaught-class Heavy Cruiser x1.

Ground Assets: 100,000 Battle Droids, 1000 Droideka Mk.IIs, 2000 Mercenaries and Bounty Hunters, 20 Leonard-class Assault Tank (named after himself but using a Star Wars Legends Template), 400 other war machines made up of 'modernized' versions of Galactic Republic and Seperatist Technology.

Credits: A huge amount, stored in digital accounts and shell corporations, to rival a Moff.

Access to Weaponry: The Gamechanger can manufacture weapons.

Faction History: Scipio Industries and Finance has been turned out of the Corporate Sector and forced into the opposite side of the Galaxy, but now plans to use its remaining assets, not limited to huge amounts of credits, to turn the current conflict to their advantage...
Name: Leonard L. Scipio.

Species: Human

Age: 24.

Appearance:

Faction: Scipio Industries and Finance, (Subgroup of the Corporate Sector Authority)

Equipment: A Personal Energy Shield, a Vibroblade with Cortosis Alloy, an Electro-Whip, and a Blaster. He also has an injector that contains a form of Spice that allows him to see Blaster Bolts coming and move fast enough to parry them.

Skills:

Combat: Leonard L. Scipio is a close-range fighter first and foremost, despite his blaster. Trained in the art of bladed and unarmed combat, Scipio fights like a Dark Jedi without actually accessing the Force. This is because of his access to a potent form of Spice that, as mentioned, increases his sight and reflexes to the level of a Force-wielder.

Non-Combat: Leonard L. Scipio is a weapons designer, financier, economist, and strategist who is good at seeking ways to profit from a situation, as well as manipulating accounts in order to control the flow of cash to and from people, places, and organizations. He also knows Droidspeak.

Weaknesses:

Spice Addiction: Leonard L. Scipio is addicted to the special form of Spice that he uses, to the point where after 24 hours, he will begin suffering convulsions, vertigo, sudden cravings, and other withdrawal symptoms if not given his special Spice. Said spice also reduces his cognitive and reasoning abilities when he takes them, forcing him to rely on instinct.

Gambler: Leonard L. Scipio is someone who takes insane risks for instant profits. He is willing to play double games with both the New Republic and Empire, or even try and bribe Believer cells away from Cinder and Cipher if it will give him the slightest chance at achieving a dominant position.

Arrogance: He thinks he is the next Thrawn. He is not; enough said.

History: Leonard L. Scipio's parents were ex-members of the Intergalactic Banking Clan who, despite being part of the Pro-Galactic Republic faction, were forced to flee to the Corporate Sector anyway when the Galactic Empire was established.

Pursued by the Empire, which was already starting to encroach on the autonomous worlds of the region, Scipio's parents retained vast riches, riches that they used to encourage the efforts of the various star systems in the area to form a unified entity; the Corporate Sector Authority. And thus, Leonard was born to wealth, privilege, and high status; his parents were now safe, and seemed to successfully rebuild their lives.

From an early age, Leonard was trained under the finest tutors, who saw in the young man a quick and sharp mind of high intelligence, but also coldness, cruelty, and greed. There was no attempt made to fix this, as some of those qualities were desired in the Corporate Sector.

At age thirteen, Leonard designed a new tank, the Leonard-class Assault tank, showing his talent to his parents. Said parents, now the owners of a major Bank dedicated to 'fostering innovation and progress', were delighted, and in an unusual gift, gave Leonard the seed capital to form his own Corporation. Predictably, he went into arms manufacturing, making and selling not just his tanks, but also new and improved buzz droids, diamond-boron torpedoes, and mobile shield generators. But as he grew older, Leonard realized he wanted more; to test his creativity beyond robotics. And so, against his parents' wishes, he made contact with some of the remaining cloners of Kamino and offered them a new facility in Corporate Sector space. He was sixteen then.

Only one Kaminoan accepted Leonard's offer, not enough for building even the smallest cloning chamber. But this Kaminoan, Pau Je, taught him much about biology and how genetic engineering can make soldiers and officers much better than droids can ever be. Entranced by her teachings, Leonard began to entertain notions about creating an army of his own, combining the best traits of the Galactic Republic and Separatist technology and battle doctrine. His parents may have objected, but before they can speak up, they had a convenient 'speeder accident'; killing them and giving Leonard full control of their bank and the colossal amount of credits within.

A rapid rise to power followed, during which Leonard made partnerships and acquisitions; the former were betrayed when they became too inconvenient, the latter taken with such force that people soon began whispering that perhaps Leonard was becoming too powerful too quickly.

But Leonard only cared enough to plan contingencies for his escape. With as much secrecy as he can muster, the young man, now 20, bought a Venator-class Star destroyer that was retrofitted into a factory/mining ship and loaded it with luxury living quarters and a huge amount of treasure and armaments. He also began setting up shell corporations in Hutt Space at the other end of the Galaxy and tried to gain the favor of the various members of the Hutt Clan. He even managed to acquire a new form of Spice from them that allowed him to equal a Force User's reflexes despite not being able to access the Force himself...

And so, when the other vested interests of the Corporate Sector Authority moved against him, Leonard fled to this ship, activated the Hyperdrive, and sailed off to Hutt Space. There, still flush with credits, he would set up a new branch of Scipio Industries and Finance, ready to do business with the next batch of potential pawns. There were plenty of them; the New Republic, the Imperial Remnant, and even the Believers.

He was going to have fun, and one of the first things he did was send out his minions to capture a Drunk Dug with a gambling problem to torture to death for his amusement...
Nevermind, going with a wealthy Filipino to make my Pleistocene Park.

Sorry, but I can't green-light the Russian gold stuff. The gold is and should be a Russia-specific storyline - one that I have the ultimate say on as the player for what remains of the old Russia. And that said, I have my own plans for where the gold ended up.

Acceptable. How much of a fortune would you allow Orlov to have/keep, then?

NGO Character Sheet

Name: The Stefan Orlov Pleistocene Project

Location: Alaska

History: Stefan Orlov (born 1892) was a Russian Noble who, in the old days, was known for his apathy to politics and his enthusiasm for science, enthusiasm that reached the point of obsession. Twenty-four when the Trans-Siberian Railway was built, Stefan earned a reputation as an eccentric when he volunteered to go to Siberia in order to do research on the extinct Mammoth. Twenty-four more years passed, in which Stefan Orlov discovered more about the Pleistocene Era's fossil records, ecology, Mammoth habitats, and even went to Wrangel Island, where he discovered that the Mammoths survived up to 1700 BC, when the Great Pyramids were being built (this was IRL, but discovered in 1975). He also found relics of human habitation on that island, proof that the Wooly Mammoth was rendered extinct by humans, not changing climates.

He also found out that the Mammoths and other Megafauna of the Pleistocene had created a 'Mammoth Steppe', a productive area of fertile grasslands that was more lush and hospitable to humankind than the tundra that existed today. But thanks to the extinction of the Megafauna, the land slowly became tundra, with harsh consequences for Siberia today. But, if primitive humans can do so much damage, cannot they also repair it? Those were his thoughts.

True, Mammoths, Giant Sloths, and other extinct species cannot be brought back. But other large hervivores, such as Yakutian Horses, Musk Oxen, and European and American Bison...those still existed. If he had those, as well as predators and human hunters to keep said hervivores in check, he might yet bring back the Mammoth steppe!

Too bad however, that despite Stefan's noble heritage, Tsar Nicholas II had too many other things in his mind to listen to an eccentric whose plans were incomprehensible to him. That and it would cost a lot of money for little immediate profit. Stefan was disappointed, but then came an unexpected windfall; the Tsar was assassinated and the Orlov Family and several other nobles went to Siberia along with a huge amount of gold and other valuables. Because of this, Stefan became interested in politics for the first time (albeit marginally), and offered all help he could to the Whites; mostly advice on surviving in Siberia. But his prime loyalties were to his 'Pleistocene Project' and acquiring gold for it.

And so another windfall came when it was suggested that most of the White Russians' gold can be safely hidden in America, which had just reunified itself from its own Civil War. Orlov offered to come with the gold to 'safeguard it', and this was accepted by the White Leadership.

Now with the majority of the White Russians' treasury - 300 tons of Gold of the 500 that had been moved from Petrograd - Orlov now had enough resources to start his project; creating a 'Pleistocene Park' in Alaska in order to restore the Mammoth Steppe. He sent a weak justification to the remaining White Russians and the Tsarist forces of St. Petersburg that he was making a 'refuge and hunting reserve' for Russian Emigres to Alaska, but it turned out he did not need to - they were too focused on war to get back their gold. That, and even if he spent it like a drunken sailor, he would still have enough to give back to the Russian Tsardom.

So in 1949, Stefan Orlov bought and legally transported 50 Yakutian Horses to Alaska; many were eaten by wolves and bears or died from eating poisonous plants, but enough survived to prove his point; where the horses had compacted the soil, the mosses, weeds, and willow shrub had been replaced by grasses!

The promise of turning tundra into grassland was real. It would even be more real if Moose (already present in the area), Musk Oxen (same), and even Bison can be brought in with enough numbers to survive the harsh winters. And thankfully, that was what gold, and bankrolling poltiical campaigns by friendly candidates, were for...

Mentioning the GMs as I need their approval, mentioning Pepper as I am using Russia's Gold and Byrd because I am using his country's territory.
@RumikoOhara, It's okay; I might give up Ken if my other character is accepted.
