A P P E A R A N C E

The first thing that someone would notice about Charlie is just how short she is. Standing at about 5'2", she not as "vertically blessed" as most people, but that doesn't bother her in the slightest. What does bother her is when people like to point out this physical detail about her. In that case, her slightly intimidating green-eyed glare is a bit more accentuated by the annoyance stirring up within her internally. She's a natural beauty that doesn't often need the effects of makeup, but will occasionally prepare her face if she is going out for a night on the town. Her lips are full and often have a smirk or scowl on it contingent upon what mood she's in.

Body wise, Charlie finds herself to be average weight with slight curves in the right places. She isn't necessarily a video vixen, but Charlie is aware that she has a decent physical build considering. Her hairstyle depends on her mood for the day or the week. It's not uncommon for Charlie to find comfort in getting her hair braided, especially when she knows that she will spend extensive time working at the Command Center. In other instances, she wears her hair in its natural curly state. The only time where she will consider pressing it flat is if she wants to look to cute. Otherwise, braids or curls is Charlie's selection as it relates to her hair.

S T Y L E

Charlie prefers comfort over style. For the life of her, she cannot understand why some women prefer to wear heels on a daily basis when they can opt for something more comforting and simple. She's a t-shirt, jeans and tennis shoes kind of woman more times than not with a jacket or a hoodie if necessary. She's not void of fashion sense when it comes to making herself "dolled up." Charlie has a few dresses in her closet that she is willing to bring out on special occasions along with heels, just expect her to be barefoot by the end of evening.

Her Ranger color is purple and part of the running theme of the other Rangers all those years ago was to always wear something that had their designated color. No, Charlie won't always wear her favorite amethyst hoodie; she will often elect for a bracelet with purple charms on it or the matching pair of earrings as a means of showcasing the purple through her accessories. Speaking of which, she does have nose piercings and a few tattoos along her arms to round out her style. Very much so a tomboy that is capable of turning a few heads.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

• Audacious - There's a level of boldness that comes with being a Ranger, right? Even without the suit, prior to her experience in going to battle with bad guys, Charlie was a fearless woman that didn't back down from a challenge. Her audacity can often rub people the wrong way or serve as a motivation to help them fight alongside her.
• Insecure - With Charlie being the youngest of the original Rangers, she grew insecure about her status and worth to the entire team at times. Because there were older members, she felt incompetent and reliant on them in certain scenarios. Now that she's older and is taking on the responsibility as somewhat of a recruiter and leader, those insecurities remain but will fester in a different form.
• Witty - At her core, Charlie is somewhat of a jokester. More times than not, it arrives in the form of dry humor or small digs, but she's truly a source for laughs at the most random times. In her opinion, you have to have a sense of humor when it comes to something as serious as being a Ranger. Often, her wittiness can come off as sophomoric or inappropriate, but she normally means well when shooting the dozens.

F A C T S

• Before she was a Ranger, Charlie was a high performing student at Angel Grove High School that was two grades ahead of where her age aligned her to be. She's not necessarily a "genius" per se, but her intellect about most things about being a Ranger is relatively high because she spent a lot of time doing research then and especially now that she's forming a new team.
• Charlie spent most of her childhood hopping from one house to the next since her father wasn't around her mother died at an early age. She's lived with a few of her aunts and her grandparents but never truly got the "family vibe" until she met the other Rangers. Part of her is excited about the prospects of finding some "new" family members and reconnecting with some older ones.
• Currently, Charlie does freelance work in hardware and software repair (cell phones, computers, tablets, devices, etc.) and makes a pretty decent living. She started the company back when she was in high school and those skills have translated into her adult like and Ranger experiences as well too. Her dream was to work for GENESIS, the company that found the Ranger powers and incidentally released Druidon into the world, but when she found out that the company was corrupt, she decided to blaze her own trail instead.

R A N G E R

Why is Charlie returning to the team? Because none of the other veterans are in the mental state of leading the charge to get the gang back together to finish the job. The effects of the war with Druidon took a toll on everyone, especially after losing several of the other Rangers. In the time that has elapsed over the past few years, Charlie has received counseling and assurance in herself that she can be the catalyst that will spark heroism within veterans and rookies alike. Is she terrified of basically being responsible for the well-being of others? Absolutely. But the cost of not having the Rangers return compared to the price the world would pay if Druidon is left unchallenged could be deadly. Now is the time to take on anyone that is willing to fight.

Andre Avery - Yellow Crystal Ranger

A P P E A R A N C E

Andre stands slightly above average than most guys, stretching out to about 6'2". His athletic frame is one of the more notable things about him since he did play a few sports when he was in high school. Always regarded as the skinny kid that played basketball, Andre made it a point to focus more on developing his strength more consistently by lifting weights throughout the summers such that it became part of his routine. Don't get it confused: the guy is still skinny, but he's been moderately successful at adding some bulk to his chiseled frame.

Freckles run in the Avery family and Andre was unable to dodge that physical trait. The dark speckles are scattered across his cheeks and nose against his caramel complexion. His eyes, as his mother would say, are remarkably similar to his father's: a dark brown color with an often intense look. Andre's hair depends on the time of the year but more times than not, he keep it short with waves. During the colder months, he may decide to grow it out a little bit more for warmth. Facial hair use to be a struggle for him, but now he's able to grow his beard out a bit.

S T Y L E

Style is something that Andre doesn't pay too much attention to. He doesn't know enough about the definition of a "minimalist" but others would think he's nearing the border on a simple lifestyle in that regard. Solid colors, jeans, maybe a bracelet or a chain here and there, but otherwise, Andre likes to keep it simple. Of course, as a part of the Ranger team, he specializes on the spectrum of different yellow colors, but even then, he keeps it simple without much patterns or loudness to his apparel.

The one thing that Andre is intentional about are his tennis shoes. Where he has only so many different types of clothing for his upper and lower body wear, Andre's shoe closet is night and day in comparison. Favoring Nike's and Jordans, Andre is at the point now where he isn't able to completely keep up with how many shoes are in his collection and how many times he's worn said shoe. His grandmother always told him that people notice your shoes first when it comes to outfits, so he takes that to heart, literally.

P E R S O N A L I T Y

• Reliable - If something needs to be done, then Andre is definitely the person to ask. He has two younger siblings whose lives he is heavily invested in, so they rely on him for consistency. In the same vein, Andre expresses that same reliability when it comes to his interactions with his other relationships outside of his family.
• Stubborn - Andre can literally be stubborn in his ways, not wanting to change who he is or how he is for anyone. He also has the tendency to be stubborn on the completion of a task without taking a breather from said task. In some cases, this can be a good trait, obviously, but when there is time to take a step back and evaluate a situation, Andre struggles.
• Protective - As mentioned before, Andre has two young siblings that rely on him for support. Thus, he is extremely protective over his loved ones, wanting to ensure that they feel safe. It's not that he was without this same protection when he was a kid; it's just that Andre wants to keep that sense of safeness continual in the lives of those around him.

F A C T S

• He's a student at Angel Grove University, but is primarily an online student. He works relatively unideal hours at a warehouse to help support his family while also trying to maintain some level of independence for himself. It's difficult and tiresome, but he knows that the work will be worth it at the end of the day. Working for the Rangers could potentially provide a consistent source of income that would alleviate stress in other areas.
• Working out is part of Andre's routine throughout the week. It's not uncommon to see him up extremely early to get a workout in before anyone else enters the gym. Being called "skinny" as a kid got to him despite the fact that he will blatantly state that it didn't get to him. Regardless, his high metabolism isn't necessarily doing him any favors in actually gaining weight.
• Andre will have some initial skepticism about becoming a Ranger given that it literally puts him in the middle of a life-threatening situation. Growing up in a rough neighborhood was bad enough, but now you're throwing him into a multidimensional war? No thanks. But because the pay is pretty nice, Andre would have to reconsider his options, especially if he's given superhuman abilities.

Why is Andre a good fit with the Rangers? When Andre is committed to something, he's one hundred percent bought into it. His stubbornness works in his favor when it comes to that. Aside from his relentlessness, at his core, Andre is a good person and a team player that is willing to sacrifice and do what is necessary to ensure that the mission needs to be accomplished.

Arc One - Rise of the Dark Empire

1. Happy New Year - What was supposed to be a fun night bringing in the New Year turns into an utter disaster. The Dark Empire has chosen Earth as its new target for destruction and is looking to destroy everything in its path. The five new wielders of the Power Crystals must come together to ensure that evil does not prevail.

The Morphin Grid is a phenomenon that regular people are typically not familiar with. It is defined as the portal between dimensions, holding an ancient power that can be utilized strengthen an individual or a group. The Morphin Grid extends beyond our planet, this galaxy or even this universe. It is a multidimensional entity that, when given access to it, grants someone with an immense amount energy that can be used for good or for bad.

When accessed, the Morphin Grid has the capability of manifesting itself into inanimate objects. In the case of our dimension, powers from the Grid materialized in the form of five crystals several centuries ago on a planet known as the Crystal Kingdom. The Dark Empire, a group of intergalactic warriors who wanted to harness the power of the Morphin Grid, invaded the Crystal Kingdom in an effort to steal the crystals, but they were met with a fight and the beginnings of a war. The war lasted for several years with the Dark Empire increasing its own power through the extracting of emotions... but the wielders of the crystals were able to trap them inside of the Morphin Gird.

Unfortunately, this process included shattering their crystals in order to do so, but for the sake of everyone in our universe, it had to be done. No one ever truly eradicates evil because darkness has a way of rising to the surface eventually. The goal has always been to entrust our safety in the hands of those who exude a positive aura and endless hope. When the time of the Dark Empire arrives once again, it is our hope that a new age of hopeful heroes are up for the task.

"Rangers" serves as an origin story of the Power Rangers in this particular dimension. It is an alternate universe from what you are accustomed to seeing and will expand further, as time progressing, into a "Rangerverse."

It has been several centuries since the wielders of the crystals from the Crystal Kingdom managed to take down the Dark Empire, trapping them in the Morphin Grid. In present day, a technological company, GENESIS, is looking to enhance their products for the betterment of their sales. As with any business, GENESIS's goal is to make an immense profit. In the midst of their lab testing, they were able to discover five crystals from within the Morphin Grid. In the midst of this, however, the Dark Empire entered itself onto Earth, hoping to finish the job from so long ago.

Panicked with a potential global threat looming, GENESIS had to shift its focus from technological advances for profit and instead work on creating superhuman warriors, with the power of the newly dubbed Power Crystals, in hopes that they could save the world from a dangerous threat. The biggest problem that GENESIS faced however was that the Power Crystals simply would not bond with staff members. Little did they know, these crystals could only match with worthy individuals that displayed a positive aura and great potential. But with the Dark Empire prepared for its first attack on Angel Grove, will GENESIS find operators for the suits in time?

The age of the Rangers will range from 18 to 22 years old. Some of them could be students at Angel Grove University, others could be working in their respective fields. Regardless, they are all around the age of kids entering into young adulthood and are just trying to figure everything out before life gets real.

Rangers colors are not gender exclusive. There could very well be a female Red Ranger and a male Pink Rangers. Also, "Red" isn't the de facto leader of the team. Each Ranger will be able to contribute their respective skills and traits in a way that should allow them to be a leader at any given time. The Rangers would, however, get direction from the Command Center.

Angel Grove University District

Angel Grove University is quickly growing into one of the more popular colleges on this side of the country. As such, the district has changed tremendously. With the boom in population, business have started to thrive (restaurants, clubs, bars, etc.) which attributes to the cost of living skyrocketing. There are numerous apartments and condos scattered across the midtown and downtown area, not to mention the amenities available on campus for those that attend school. Most people who have families or are starting families live in the suburbs, but thankfully those homes are not too far from inner city Angel Grove.

GENESIS HQ

Despite being one of the leaders in the technological industry, GENESIS decided to build its headquarters on the outskirts of the city. The company did not want to be too directly close to a number of citizens, preferring to have their operations isolated. There are a few GENESIS stores scattered throughout the city, but the HQ and labs are in a secluded location. GENESIS has a state of the art facility with a lab, training facility, and simulations that will prepare the Rangers for the field.

• This is not a first-come, first-serve sort of roleplay. I'm looking for roleplayers that can vibe with a casually advanced roleplay while also providing great characters.
• Once you are done with your Character Sheet, please PM it to me so that I can evaluate it before acceptance. Do NOT post your CS in the Character or OOC section until approved. PLEASE NOTE: You may not receive your preference for Ranger color.
• That being said, the aim of this RP is for it to be a small group RP. I'm looking for no more than maybe 4-ish roleplayers depending on the vibe. Those who are accepted will be able to write up to 2 characters Rangers.
• Please post at least once per week in character. There will be instances where the group may be split up into separate groups to handle a task or quest so the Rangers won't always be together. Because this is a casually advanced RP though, I'm providing a little bit of leeway in posting. The goal is for this to be a long-term plot with minimal pressure. If you are unable to continue the RP, let me know so that we can phase out your character.
• The roleplay will be a combination of slice of life, action, and adventure. Feel free to create your own subplots with other characters (enemies, friends, lovers), but just make sure that the other person approves of it.
• There will be a Discord for quick OOC chatting, but OOC here is fine too. Important information will be posted in the OOC and linked in the Discord.
• At least two paragraphs per post. Give us something to reply to!
• The RP takes place in the fictional city of Angel Grove, CA (for nostalgia purposes) in an alternate universe.
