Not usually one for sulking in a corner, that was exactly where Ash could be found upon the ship bound for Tenrou Island right now. Rather than being her usually fiery self however, she seemed quite...gloomy. Down in the dumps.
There were many factors which lead to this mood, though the biggest one happened to be the fact they were currently on the ocean. Aka, a rather large amount of water was now all around them. With nowhere to run if the ship began to sink, they were all doomed to drown.
Shaking her head violently, a rather silly attempt to stop dwelling on her rather irrational fear, Ash soon grimaced before rubbing her bandaged cheek. It still stung from where Cyra's sword had cut her during their fight.
Most of her wounds hadn't actually been healed from that fight, since most of them were basically just cuts and scratches for the most. So coupled with the fact they were just minor wounds and her own pride, getting to show off bandages and scars was like a badge of honour to Ash, she had refused treatment for the most part.
She had however allowed her right shoulder to be healed, for the most part. Despite the fact it was still in a sling, it was more a precaution so she didn't agitate it and undo the healing magic placed upon it.
Blargh. So much for magic being so almighty, huh? Couldn't even heal up a shoulder that had a sword stabbed right through it, so pathetic. Casting a quick look around her, she dismissed the notion of talking to anyone quicker than it took her to look at those around her. No one seemed interesting enough, nor did she really know who they were. She had no intention to make friends with those from other guilds after all, she was just here to fight.
And nothing else.
Just when she thought of going and finding a place to a nap, preferably a place out of view so she didn't have to deal with other people for now, was when she caught a glimpse of someone unmistakably familiar.
Even if she barely knew him. Enma the Oni. A real curious bloke, for many reasons. The key one being an Oni. Just that alone was enough reason for Ash to go bother him. She had been meaning to talk to him eventually anyway, just that things always cropped up whenever she wanted to. That and it was a good excuse to get out of the funk she had been in since fighting Cyra, her mind dwelling on it far longer than she would want to admit.
Jumping to her feet, she quickly dispelled the gloom and doom atmosphere around her as she strode over to the Oni. Though she made a conscious effort to sneak up on him, just so that she could land a surprise friendly punch to his shoulder.
Which, considering his height compared to hers, meant she to had reach a little to accomplish the task.
"How you going ya crazy bastard, not seasick I hope!" Greeting the Oni with a toothy grin and hearty laugh, Ash stood a bit up on her toes to try and be at his height.
It didn't work, much to her annoyance.
"So....do you actually know why we're here? I didn't pay much attention."

Jasmine Lockwood

@MarshiestMallow
"But...but.." At Penny's touch, the sniffling girl seemed to relax. Just that simple action and a few reassuring words, and Jasmine felt a lot better. I mean, Penny was S-Class so she must know what she's talking about when it comes to magic.
So if she said that Jasmine would be fine....then she should be, right?
Jasmine could only hope that it was true. She felt a pang of guilt at that thought, of course she would be fine. Penny had said so, and thus far Penny had yet to let the younger girl down. Despite what the older girl thought.
So Jasmine had no reason to doubt Penny, just herself at reaching whatever expectations the Phoenix Slayer had of her. Even if it was a more than a little amusing a Fire Mage was going to help with Water magic.
"If...if you say so." Flustered, the teenager took a moment to wipe some tears while Penny talked to the carriage driver. Once she had returned from organizing their departure, Jasmine seemed a lot more composed.
But she still look like she could break into tears at any moment again. Then again, that came as no surprise as she seemed to always look like she was on the brink of tears.
"...." Jasmine seemed to pause momentarily upon entering the carriage. She had a bad feeling about this all of a sudden. Quickly brushing the feeling to the side, she quickly took her seat across from Penny. She wasn't sure what that weird feeling was, but what could be so bad about a carriage ride? She had basically lived in one after all.
"Um...I..where should I start?" She had decided that it was probably best to try and explain the best she could the events leading up to her sudden gain of a magic to Penny, just so that she knew the context. Even if Jasmine didn't understand it herself.
It took a lot less time to explain what happened than Penny might've thought, even with Jasmine's stuttering and constantly tripping over her own tongue. Seeing as all she had to tell the older girl was that she had just finished breakfast when she felt something strange wash over, next thing she knew her body felt weird all over and she had sneezed water all over poor, unsuspecting Nolan. Aka the 'scary man'.
It barely took five minutes really, probably would've been less had anyone tried to explain it other than Jasmine.
By the time she had finished, the carriage had begun moving. After a few seconds of it in motion however, all the color seemed to drain from her face and the younger girl leaned against the carriage door. A wave of neasua washed over her, her breakfast threatening to come back up yet at the same time didn't seem like it was going anywhere, anytime soon.
"I-I don't feel so good."

Anemone

While various members of the crew were given their orders and making their final preparations, Anemone was stirring from the nap she had decided to take while waiting for the battle. Well, at first she was meant to have just been resting her eyes but it came as no surprise that she actually had dozed off.
Looking around blearily, she noted that the rest of the crew seemed to be buzzing around, some more frantically than others, like a stirred up hornets nest. Just by reading this atmosphere it was clear what was happening; they had found their prey.
A quick glance at the ship they were fast approaching confirmed such thoughts, the former noble stretching her arms up high and letting out an overly loud yawn.
Suppose that meant she couldn't slack off anymore, huh? Better get to work before the old man handed her her ass on a silver platter.
Grabbing her crossbow and a quiver of bolts, she stumbled slightly to the ship railing while also trying her best to load her weapon. The young woman still felt half asleep, the sooner she cracked some poor saps skull open and threw his hapless crew-mates overboard to be fish food the sooner she would feel better.
Not wanting to wait any longer than necessary, the sooner this crew of festering scum were taken out the sooner she could go back to sleep, and having been given the a-OK from the captain, Anemone bought her crossbow up and took a deep breath.
It was showtime.
Pulling the trigger, Anemone ducked back behind the railing without even seeing if the bolt had hit it's mark. Her target having been some large man with an undersized shirt wielding a crossbow near the main mast. Staying up after having fired off a crossbow bolt would be folly, even for her.
Yawning, she slowly began to reload her crossbow. She was more waiting for the ship to come closer before doing anything too rash to be honest. Once it was reloaded, she would just aim and shoot at the first person she saw on The True Blue.
