Also fancy seeing you again around these parts, been a hot minute.
Realized I hadn't given Evelyn a trainer class, so I made her a "Glamarous Gal". Seemed like a fitting one for her.

Now to catch pokemon, win battles and look STUNNING while doing it~

I didnt even realise there was a trainer class if that makes you feel better. I don't recall if that was in the original or not, or if I just never did one. I'm sure eldritch being can count.
I'm just going to steal Clear Smog then, not a lot of options for Dusk

Not even if we go back into our room and turn the wall clock back to noon? D:

I vote that the Zapdos gets a Zapdos! With the caviat that it's actually a Delibird in a costume.

Damn I didn't think of that, my poor candle has been bested :(

I'm shamelessly reposting this without a single edit yes
Dusk shall not be stopped, nor will my eldritch abomination of a character

Akemi's ramblings would continue onwards even as others attention were directed towards the door, she herself pausing for a moment before continuing. If it was anything important she was sure the others would mention it, for now she just wanted to continue talking to her new friend-

"Uriel: Aegis." As if a switch had been flipped the moment the bodyguard called out for Aylin to take cover, Akemi's body immediately enveloped itself in a light golden glow as a golden light emitted from her hand. Stepping out and raising her hand, she aimed to protect Aylin from any debris from the door, the door itself and if need be help Ariel with the barrier that she now emitted in front of herself. If Aylin was to look up, she would see the halo that now presented itself fully atop her head.

"Stay down please. I will handle this." Mind racing as she went over her training with Zen, she gestured to Aylin to stay hidden and safe before stepping out to face the duo leading the crowd. Despite how nervous she felt, how much adrenaline was racing through her...on the outside she seemed unfazed and unchanged. She also looked like a smol child walking up to challenge them but that was because she was short of stature, perhaps a fact that would lead to further underestimating of the girl.

"...please reconsider your actions, I would rather not hurt anyone. Miss Aylin here just wishes to go home. I do not know what it is you believe she has done, or if she has truly wronged you or not, but I cannot allow you to bring harm to my friend. Maybe we can talk about it? Tell me what you believe she has done to wrong you?" Akemi was a kind girl, but a naive girl at that. She still believed that a fight could be avoided, after all she wasn't sure what these people wanted or if Aylin had indeed done anything. Though even if she had, to bring violence like this was entirely unnecessary. And nothing that had been done was overstepping the line...yet. But if they truly wished to fight and ignore Akemi's pleas to talk this over?

She wouldn't hold anything back. That was what her training had taught her. Talk, de-escalate where you could. Otherwise? End it, one way or the other. It seemed like she wasn't the only one with a similar train-heh, train, of thought either, as D'angelo entered the fray and she nodded in agreement, before making a slight bowing motion towards the man, even if it left her open to an attack she didn't seem to mind.

"I would rather not hurt you or allow this to come to blows if need be, so I urge you to reconsider....please?"

Spent wasn't quite the word one would use to describe Adelyn right now. Exhausted? Drained? Whatever term of phrase one wished to use, she was fatigued as even she was surprised by the output. Not that she could exactly celebrate as she staggered forward, her fall stopped by Kiba coming to her side.

"Y-yeah that would be for the best-" Shit! Adelyn saw from the smoke the blue beam of electricity, too fast for her to react to proper, and perhaps far too concentrated for her to try and absorb. But she was going to have to try! Wait no...she didn't have the time to. The thought died right then and there, as she no doubt would've hadn't Mark stepped in and teleported them back to the horses. It had happened so quickly too, one moment they were in the clearing, the next they were some distance away now.

All in the blink of an eye too. Not that Adelyn hadn't felt that chilling cold of the abyss wash over her, she just hadn't truly registered it yet as now that they were in the clear, she finally felt her trembling legs give way and she collapsed onto her hunches, gasping for air as she felt the adrenaline and stress leave her system...and she realised just how tired she was. Was this how fights usually went? She hadn't fought against a beast, let alone two or even three like that. It was an entirely different experience, and one she knew, not that she would openly admit it, she wouldn't have been able to handle on her own.

Stealing a glance towards her two companions as they spoke with Monroe, she stayed silent for the most part. If they were going to try and track the beast to its lair, she would have to begrudgingly deny and return by herself. As much as she shared in their displeasure at how this was turning out, in her current condition she would be even more of a liability than normal. Besides, tracking and all that wasn't really her area of expertise or knowledge, and she didn't really want to spend too much more time in the forest. However, could she admit to all that outloud? That was a different matter altogether.

So it was no small relief when she heard Monroe turn down their request, which meant she wouldn't have to try and swallow her pride and stubbornness. Though at the mention of a war mage, Adelyn was visibly tense and on edge, immediately reaching up to her ear to communicate back with Monroe.

"I-if you don't mind me asking...umm....who?" Getting back to her feet no doubt with the help of Kiba, Adelyn began to press Monroe for an answer. She almost seemed....afraid? "As in...who the war mage is? Name? Family? Rank?"

She was so on edge waiting for an answer in fact that when Mark suddenly tapped her on the shoulder, she nearly jumped out of her skin and squealed quite loudly into the VOX, a gentle little voltage shooting up the mages arm and making his hair stand on edge as she flailed and fell backwards, even scurrying backwards as a couple of sparks shot off her.

"W-w-w-w-w-what are you doing?! Don't just suddenly do that!" Huffing and puffing, she was redder than the beast that they had just fought as she mentally struggled to grasp what was happening here. Did...did Mark just praise her? A visible look of confusion began to settle in as the realisation sunk in. Praise? When...when was the last time anyone praised her? In fact, when was any time anyone other than him praised her? Normally they just reprimanded her, as admittedly her trying to help normally just made things worse. She struggled to do things even newbie mages could do. She was small. She was stubborn. She was weak. A nuisance.

So to receive praise for a job well done? It left her with an...odd feeling. One that left her even more flustered and clutching at the pendant she still wore. Maybe...maybe she wasn't so worthless after-all?

"Hmph! Of-of course it was effective! Do you even know who I am?!" Of course Mark was probably too busy riding off to pay heed to her flustered ramblings, but as she approached her own horse, she took a moment to lean against it and clutch her pendant tighter. A slight little smile on her face as she let herself enjoy the little success for a moment before moving onto her next challenge.

Getting back on the horse, literally.

@Joshua Tamashii@Remram
Prove them wrong? Steph was going to do more than just 'prove them wrong'! She didn't have time for this shit, and now her concern for Amelia very quickly turned into anger, directly at these shitbags and their little 'prank' on her. Especially since her butt now hurt from the fall, but that pain would be negated by the adrenaline about to surge through her as she leaped to her feet and began scaling the wall like a possessed maniac. She was certainly the latter half of that description at least, and she didn't care how many times she might fall back down, or if there was really any real footing to begin with. She would fucking dig out the foot and hand holes with her hands herself if she had to.

All that she cared about right now was scrambling up this wall, one way or another, getting out of this hole, and proceeding to teach these cunts a lesson. Which once she did, and it was a matter of when not if, she would tower over the no doubt mortified grass types who had just felt like they had just witnessed a fucking failed exorcism in the flesh.

"Sao thahts haow yah wahnna gao huh? Oy ineh' gawt toime faw thiies, buh' I'll myke an exsaeption. Dusk, embah thaeh johdahns."
Or in other words, she was attacking them with Dusk using Ember. And if others tried to flee? Well, she had other pokemon she could sick on them. She was going to teach them one way or another, sometimes you shouldn't poke the eldritch bear.

It was good enough for Akemi!

"Nice to meet you...also ummm...miss Blackreach?" She hoped that was the proper etiquette, she wasn't really informed on how to talk to nobles and such. or people in general really, but she was address as Miss Desdemona, so was she meant to return it in kind? Either way, the girl was obviously hopelessly out of her depth here but she didn't really care about that anyway.

The fact she wasn't outright rejected already cemented the status of newfound friend well and truly in Akemi's mind, even if Aylin had yet to formally think so herself, her eyes sparkling as she eagerly and happily shook the noble girls hand. Most of the other noble sorts that Akemi had seen in the guild had either ignored her, or Zen had kept her away from, so this being her first proper interaction with one left her in an almost dazed happy state before she snapped back to earth when she realised her mind had wondered and she was still firmly, well as firmly as a sickly 16 year old girl could, shaking the other girls hand the entire time.

Right. Interests. She should answer that question her new friend was asking her! It would be rude not to after all.

"Hmmmm....." Taking a moment to think, a finger tapped at her chin as her head swayed left, right, left, right, left, right, as if moving in rhythm with the tapping of her finger as one could almost hear the clock-like ticking and tocking noises from the girl. "I like to train! If I want to become strong enough to protect everyone, I got to train to do so after all. Otherwise, I like to cook though Zen gets mad every time I do. Hmmm...I tried sewing but Zen got upset after I stabbed myself in the fingers. I also like helping people, but Zen got upset last time because apparently...."

And once she started speaking, she began counting on her fingers, a deadpan and unchanging look on her face as she listed off more and more things. Most of them ending with this Zen person either getting mad, upset, sad, concerned or some other such emotion. Maybe even a mixture. And these stories ranged from having an interest in cats and trying to take home a wild cat, to nearly becoming an accomplice in an attempted jewelry store robbery because she liked collecting pretty rocks. Once she ran out of fingers on both hands though, she reset and started again till she got to about 17.

"....I still don't know why Zen was mad about that one, I liked learning how to play poker with those nice gentleman. I even won some free clothing from them. Maybe I could teach you also? Oh right, Zen is my umm....guardian? Yeah, I think that's what he told me to call him? Most people call him my brother so we usually roll with that, but he isn't really my brother. I don't think so anyway?"
Akemi didn't look like the sort, especially with her lack of emotion on display, but she could talk. And talk. And talk. It would be hard to gauge whether or not any of the stories she told were truthful or not, as aforementioned there was hardly a shift in tone in any of them, but Akemi was quite chatty when excited. And she was excited and bubbly right now, even if she wasn't showing it. At any rate, Akemi paused for a moment, perhaps giving Aylin a chance to speak if she so chose to, as Akemi realised she had forgotten the most important thing!

"Oh and I like to read. Ria is nice and lends me books sometimes, she has really nice books. Books about knights and princesses and heroes and fighting dragons. She won't let me read the books she's usually reading though, something about when I'm older?"

Oh you sweet summer child.

Another success! Even if landing in Kiba's arms wasn't exactly as smooth sailing as she anticipated, the plan so far had been going off without a hitch. Or rather 'plan', if one could call it that considering it was just Adelyn making shit up on the spot. But suppose improvisation on the fly was a plan in of itself, even if unintentional on Adelyns part as she was out of her depths a little in this scenario. However with a little bit more of a push, between her, Kiba and the Sargent already doing some significant damage to the Vulcan, then no doubt they could wrap this up nice and quick before moving on to help Mark with the-

Wait, why was the Vulcan running away? Had they scared it off already? Adelyn was confused for a moment, but no matter. She knew she totally had the giant ape covered, yep, totally, so it was just running away because it didn't stand a chance. That meant they were now free to go and help Mark.

Oh how naive she was that that was the thought going through her mind before the whole world seemed to turn into a series of blue flashes of energy that scorched the earth around them, narrowly missing both her and Kiba as she felt all the strength and fight in her body vanish almost as quickly as the creature had arrived, dropping to the ground looking like a deer caught in headlights and barely even catching what the Sargent was trying to say.

Her whole body had gone numb, her mind shut down at the display. And the beast was still not at their location? By the sounds of its roars of pain as Monroe's shots found their marks suggested it wasn't far off though, even if it wasn't close. A few hundred yards? If that? Just how big was this thing anyway? And this lightning; this was beyond anything she was capable of. She was resistant to such attacks, and even she wasn't sure what would happen if she was to be hit directly by this thing.

'Because you're weak and a disgrace.'

No! This thing was way too big and strong! She refuted this voice which sounded just like her fathers, clenching fistfuls of dirt as she shut her eyes.

'Excuses are for the weak. You're a failure, a stain on the Amberfield name. You should just run, its all you're good at after all right? You should just go home.'

That was different! She didn't have a choice, besides, did that really count as running? Besides, there was no home to return to. Not anymore. Adelyn slumped further, watching on in a daze as the lightning came back for another round.

'Maybe you would if you were remotely useful? Instead of being worthless dead weight'

Adelyn had no refute to that, growing silent as more and more voices entered her mind at this moment. Mostly that of her father and brothers, each one as mocking and disgusted as the other.

'You're not cut out to be a mage.' 'Give it up.' 'You're going to die.' 'Its for the best, trash should die like trash.' 'Your luck has run out.' 'You have no right to call yourself an Amberfield.''This is real lightning.' 'You should run, you'll just get in the way.' Etc, etc, etc.

"Shut....up." Her grimoire flared up with magical energy as hopefully as was the idea, all the lightning in the area was drawn towards Adelyn as she cast Lightning Rod. Hopefully, Kiba had the presence of mind to not be next to her for this, otherwise, she wasn't going to apologize for this as she just kept repeating that phrase over and over in her mind. Screaming and yelling over the voices she knew weren't real. They were figments of her imagination, her own mind playing tricks on her. She was used to it, but it didn't make it any easier to ignore no matter how much she tried.

After all, deep down, she thought every single comment to be true. She was weak. She was worthless. If she was half as strong as her brothers, as him, then maybe she could've prevented it all. Thats what she believed, even if all it was was just talk to make her feel better. This feeling of regret, helplessness, and guilt winning out over her shock and fear as unimaginable pain no doubt coursed through her body as she drew in as much lightning as she could physically withstand, redirecting most of the energy into the ground to hopefully harmlessly discharge there. The rest? Charged into another attack which she would shoot back in an arc of blue lightning right back at the creature which had but a simple message to the voices still hammering away inside her head.

"I SAID SHUT UP!"

She wasn't going to run no matter what Monroe said over the radio. Not till their mission was complete. Her pride, the one thing she had and clung to no matter how dire things got, refused to buckle. Mark had the red beast handled after all right? So all they had to do was stall the lightning one. So she was damn well going to stall this thing for as long as she could. She would rather die an Amberfield mage than disgrace their name any further than her existence already did.
