A Note on Posting Order: Post is on free for all. Everyone will get a chance to post this round before I move things along but don't feel like you are limited to posting only once this round. Remember to leave two posts in between. We are not currently in initiative order.

Other thangs: If you need extra information for your post such as when you perform a check, feel free to do so OOC.

Throughout the game some information may be conveyed through PMs if your character picks up on something other's haven't. e.g. Languages, arcana checks, ect.

<sup>It is a fine evening in the city of Waterdeep and the usual suspects are gathered in the Yawning Portal tavern. Raucous laughter fills the air amid the chatter of a myriad of voices, coloured in a cacophony of all kinds of people and races. The sturdy door creaks on it's hinges as yet another crowd bumbles past the stoop and seeks merry shelter from the pouring rain and wind. Out there it's a nightmare. In here it's a party.

Duran slams another couple drinks on the bar and slides them down to awaiting greedy hands. Someone calls out to him, shaking a tankard at the red writing on the board above the bar. "I've got fifteen on Daggerford," they say, "Their times almost up."

People lounge on the staircase up to the lower balcony, slowly ambling into more of a queue then a gaggle. There's some loud haggling going on up there. On the highest floor of the Tavern, a halfling bard plays a lute relatively decently, his leg lazily dangling over the side of the balcony as his song is mostly drowned out. A few folks try to nip and duck their way to their rooms they have rented for the night, though your party accounts for a number of those locked doors.

In the midst of it all, surrounded by drunks and guffaws, sits the maw of the Yawning Portal itself. A pit that descends deep into the belly of the earth, and the reason for your travel. The winch used to transport those who dare make the trip into Undermountain sits beside the well innocently, a simple rope and pully system with a small bucket nearby. A crude wooden sign is attached to the stones of the well, reading "1 GP per journey, both down and up" in sloppy red paint.</sup>

Lin has managed to grab a table directly next to the Portal itself. Behind you, a fire crackles merrily, and above you is the lower balcony. Your benefactor Esvelle is here somewhere, but today the tavern is jam-packed with patrons and it's hard to discern her among the crowd. She approached your party a tenday ago with a job involving Undermountain, paying in advance and covering the costs of your lodging here - starting yesterday - until the job she has hired you for is completed. Your arranged meeting time is shortly.

In the meantime, why not settle in?

@duskshine749 I think IC wise I would prefer if canonically we make the sales before the dungeon delve

So you are in the tavern today to receive the final information about the quest after gearing up over the past tenday or so

Just to speed things along.

However mechanically/OOCly players can still buy from the PHB for their sheet right up until the delve, but IC they would of purchased it during downtime over the past tenday.

I was waiting on the ready check here so checking to see if @Ellri, @Duskshine749 and @Cao the Exiled are ready to go.

All sheets have been accepted now, I will be checking inventories more in depth before the delve but that doesn't mean we can't start IC.

Here's the backstory information provided so far:

Party Adventures

The Party stopped a Drow Raid which took place mostly in the Underdark.

Party Interactions:
Aurix and Jhimas:

Jhimas asked Aurix about the elven glyphs on her back, learning that Aurix spent time in the Underdark as a slave, being treated horribly. This contributed significantly to her emotional detachment.

Jhimas and Lauk: Jhimas and Lauk did not see eye to eye when they met. The smell of fish in particular causes Lauk discomfort, which Jhimas found a little offensive.

Lauk and Lin:

Lin once spun a story on her lyre of the greenskin battles of Iriaebor, which Lauk expanded upon from his firsthand account, telling of the great dark god Maglubiyet marching it's hobgoblins from beyond the Sunset Mountains. Lin was at first furious to hear the changes, but then fascinated by his travels.

Lin and Ardour:

During the Underdark Raid, Ardour saw Lin transforming and advocated for her life to the others. Lin feels indebted to Ardour for this act, though she often helps Ardour by gaining him access to restricted places or buying his booze.

This is a Starting Quest for Ravenloft / Strahd But I'm putting it in spoilers in case someone is super into not having anything from Strahd spoiled for them

tbf the Werewolves were allowed to leave Ravenloft and since Atanase is Order of the Lycan that fits quite well.
