Current I turned 40 recently. Nothing happened, no crisis or anything. Turns out it's just another year.

Wow, you were fast. Forgetful as I am, I have now added code for the character name in the sheet.

This is a good foundation for a character. But you still have a lot of time until the actual roleplay would begin, so I suggest you flesh things out whenever you feel like it.

Charles' parents could prove to be interesting secondary characters for a sub-plot. Perhaps something happens wherever they live when the army is mobilized, which forces them to decide whether to leave or stay. There is a bit of potential there.

A wealthy family on the western coast of Tenebra would probably live in a rather large city. Maybe you could create a name for it, so that I can put it on the map?

I also added some code for spirits. Could I ask of you to concretize Charles' spirits? Think of them as spells rather than manipulation.

I have a few things left to do, but I might as well let you read all the other stuff and create characters while you wait.

P R O F I L E
Fighting fire with fire is never the optimal way of doing things. Everyone has lost loved ones, but it does not give them the right to cause further suffering. Xander believes that nature will eventually return balance to the world. He is an old soul who has lost everything he once knew, but he is not vindictive. He does not blame anyone other than himself for the choices that led to the demise of his pack. He believes that a serene state of mind will help him overcome the guilt, of not being enough when it was required of him. The spirits of those he lost lingers within him, and for that he is grateful. They have opened up a whole new existence for him. Xander haw grown quite fond of human words and communication.

D I A L O G
Xander's dialog color is: #BA9344. When speaking for Xander, one can use many strange synonyms or otherwise uncommon words, as reading dictionaries and thesauruses is a hobby of his. He also has a tendency to muse about the meaning of words and sometimes find the way people use them amusing.

This section is optional. It is mainly for describing typical attire and other aesthetic choices of your character. Some prefer to address this in-character, which is perfectly fine. Just skip this section if you decide to describe things later or want to leave it to the imagination of the reader.

I D E O L O G Y
This section replaces the traditional 'personality' section of a character sheet. It describes your character's moral values, how they perceive the world and other people, actions and passions, philosophies and attributes, etc. Read the other character sheets for examples.

B A C K G R O U N D
This is your standard background/history section. This is not meant to be an in-character post, but a brief summary of the main points of a character's life. Depending on how creative you want to be, you might have to get into some world-building and describe places, cultures, traditions, technology, or whatever you may mention in this section. It should be noted that your primary character should be either 22 or 23 years of age at the beginning of the story, having recently graduated from Oakridge Academy.

W A R F A R E
In this section you describe your character's weapon of choice and magic, if the character is a Guardian. Your main character should be a Guardian, but your secondary character(s) can be anything. You may also describe other abilities that pertain to fighting such as spirits. Example of spirit list:

◇ Name of Spirit [ Element ] [ +Exotic Effect ] [ -Exotic Effect ] Description of the ability goes here. For the exotic effects, (+) means that it applies to you or an ally, and (-) means that it applies to the enemy.

A S P E K T S
These are what you would traditionally name ‘traits’. They enhance your character in various ways during combat scenes. Your character may have four (4) Aspekts.

◇ Lancer Increases the potency of your character’s physical attacks.
◇ Ravager Increases the potency of your character’s magical attacks.
◇ Sentinel Increases the potency of your character's numbered meter.
◇ Vicar Decreases the effect of magical damage upon your character.
◇ Adept Your character’s physical attacks have a chance of critical hit.
◇ Synergist Your character’s magical attacks have a chance of critical hit.
◇ Fanatic Increases your character’s physical critical hit damage.
◇ Saboteur Increases your character’s magical critical hit damage.
◇ Medic Increases potency of outgoing and incoming healing effects.
◇ Lucky Increases potency of your other Aspekts.

Your primary character should be visible in your post here. All secondary characters should be hidden by a hider below your primary one. The character sheet for secondary character does not have to be fully completed. You can flesh them out over time, if you want. However, the minimum requirement for a secondary character is a picture and the basic info below it. Unless it is a Guardian, you can fully ignore 'Aspekts' and spirit creation.

Lovely.

Thanks to those who followed from the casual section.

A warm welcome to those who found this here, in the advanced section. ♥

I shall have an OOC ready by the end of the week (Saturday at the latest).
I posted this in the advanced section, as well. It's the same as 'high casual', so everyone here is fit to join it.

◆ P R E M I S E
This story is about a world called Libra, which has been torn asunder by war with extraterrestrial creatures called Mordrem. Twenty years ago, an ambitious research facility experimented with teleportation technology in order to extend its reaches beyond the planet, but accidentally opened a gateway to another dimension through which the alien threat invaded. This incident is known as the Calamity.

Libra is unique in that all life is of an energy called Gaia, and each life has a spirit. Through their existence, the spirits gather experiences and memories with which they return to Gaia upon destruction, adding to the enrichment and cycle of life. Alas, the Mordrem thrive on the consumption of all organic matter of Gaia and spirits. This has caused the world to slowly wither away, and its remaining spirits to seek sanctuary in superior entities.

The war with the Mordrem is spearheaded by individuals known as Guardians. These are men and women who possess high spirit density in their bodies, allowing them to grow incredibly strong and harness the natural power of the spirits within. This power is widely known as magic. Guardians are crucial to the war effort, but they need to be trained just as any other soldier. In this roleplay, your primary character will be a Guardian who has recently completed his or her training at Oakridge Academy.

The gateway caused by the Calamity remains open, maintained by something on the other side. As long as it persists, Libra can never be liberated. It has taken the army—one of the few remaining institutions of the former government—many years to prepare for an operation that will attempt to close the gate. One way or another, your primary character will be selected for the horrific task of exterminating whatever slumbers on the other side.

The story begins at the dawn of these events, the final preparations.

◆ I N F O R M A T I O N
This story will be told through episodes and seasons, like a TV show. Because of that, you are encouraged to roleplay several different characters along your primary one. It also means that the story will be dynamic and less linear. You are also free to come and go as you please, create new characters at your leisure, and add to the lore if you wish.

There will be a codex with plenty of information about the world, which we will expand upon together. The character sheet will be lightweight: it will include a realistic picture of your character, basic measurements such as height and age, an 'ideology' section that replaces 'personality', a background section, and a section for your primary character's spirits. As the story has a heavy focus on action scenes, such endeavors will be slightly moderated, so that things are fair and square.

The influences for this roleplay include games such as Final Fantasy, Half-Life, Dead Island, The Division, and films such as Edge of Tomorrow, Alien, and Interstellar. My ambition is to create a fluid roleplay that anyone can join, at any time, and that can possibly last beyond me. Any player that has shown dedication can request to be a co-GM and subsequently get all of my private notes.

➡ Standard forum rules and such apply. Be courteous to each other, compromise instead of complain, and communicate with me no matter how trivial the matter.

➡ A thousand words the is magic length for posts. I don't mind lengths below that (within reason), but anything beyond must be accompanied by a summary. The language should be fairly concise and easy to understand. I realize that writing is an art to some people, but there are certainly better ways to practice it than here.

➡ You can come and go as you please in this roleplay. There is no need to apologize for absences or otherwise. However, if you are active in the roleplay, please be consistent with your posting so that others do not have to wait for you.

Well, we are getting destroyed by things that has 'supernatural' and 'final fantasy' written in the thread-title. I might put this interest check in the advanced section instead, where people hopefully read beyond the title. I was under the impression that the casual section had a wider audience, therefore a higher chance of interest. Oh well.
