Guinevere Stark

P.H.I.L.'s protocol didn't activate as to the A.I., Guin willingly got up and walked over to Kilgrave without saying a word. Her mother tried to pull her in for a hug and photograph, but Guin just roughly brushed Maddie aside, causing the reality star to scream as if frightened. She kept eye contact with Kilgrave once he made it, eventually standing right next to Lance as she stared forward at him. She tried to open her mouth to curse at him or to tell P.H.I.L. to enact his primary protocol, but she couldn't even move her mouth. In some ways, it felt like an out of body experience - and in others, it wasn't like that at all.

Justin grinned widely at the two teenagers, giving Kilgrave a clap on the back. "You really are worth every penny, Zebediah," he praised. He then nodded at two of his security officers, who opened up a room in the back. "Everything you requested has been put in there," he then added to his partner in crime. "So glad to hear you'll be joining us for the internship, Mr. Calrissian."

Guin felt a bit terrified by how much she suddenly wanted to do exactly what Kilgrave had said. The feeling reminded her of the moments of weakness right before she would give in and get high. The logical portion of her brain was telling her to not go meet with Kilgrave - that only horrible things could come from it. But the emotional side was saying the exact opposite and it was winning the fight. P.H.I.L. chimed as he found the records on Kilgrave and Guin couldn't bring herself to look at them. All she was focused on was going to meet with Kilgrave as soon as possible, ideally with Lance.

"Isn't he just something?" Hammer said with a grin, looking right at Guin and Lance as he took back the stage. "I couldn't have said it better myself. As we've come together to give back and help to support our communities, it's important to recognize the future of talent and achievement. Now, please enjoy the first of six courses that we've prepared tonight. The silent auction will end with the fifth course."

Guin sighed a bit as Lance didn't respond to her hangman game and she poked his hand a bit to prompt him to do so. There wasn't much they could do until the formalities ended anyways and her mind needed something to crunch on other than their mission. She couldn't help but smile a bit at the thought of that - they were like Aunt Nat and Uncle Clint, off to stop some douchebags (i.e. Hammer and the Doctor Who Lookalike) from doing something nefarious. Maybe one day they'd be S.H.I.E.L.D. agents together - she could see Lance doing it. She had problems with taking orders and probably wouldn't pass the psychological profile requirements. Or maybe they'd eventually take their parents' place on the Avengers - Guin using tech and Lance lighting up.

"I have no idea who he is," Guin muttered, putting her hand on her watch and waking up P.H.I.L., muting him so that way he wouldn't make a bunch of noise. She typed in manual instructions for P.H.I.L. to search for the mysterious man in the database, brushing a bit of her hair back in order to flash her watch in the stranger's direction. P.H.I.L. managed to catch an image. "Hopefully P.H.I.L. will though..."

There was a round of applause as Hammer took the stage, waving at all of the guests in attendance. "Thank you all for coming to this charity dinner. Now, I know we're all here for a good cause but I'd like to take a moment to introduce the newest CFO of Hammer Industries, my personal friend - Zebediah Kilgrave," Hammer said with a grin. "He's going to help launch Hammer Industries into the future, making us more profitable and competitive than ever before. Zebediah, if you'd like to come and say a few words?"

Guinevere Stark

As they sat down, there was a round of applause as Hammer was introduced and made his way up to the stage. There wouldn't be a chance to go and find a computer to use until after the speech and other formalities were over. Guin drummed her fingers on the table, shaking her head slightly at Lance. The man who she saw with Hammer - he wasn't Hammer's douche-y eventually revealed as a child predator type of unsettling. No, there was something else about him that Guin didn't quite understand. It was as if he made every hair on her arms stand up straight.

"Nah, it's not your average type of creepy...It's more of like you met the Joker creepy, whereas Hammer is just your standard corrupt CEO..." Guin whispered to Lance. She then reached into her purse and grabbed a pen, before taking the cloth napkin and drawing a hangman board on it. "To pass the time during this boring stuff where we can't do anything," she explained to him with a grin. She spotted her mother a few tables away, with Maddie chatting Hank Pym's ear off. She couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy. At least Maddie hadn't noticed Guin and Lance yet.

Guin smiled at the reporters, giving them charming waves just like Tony taught her as they headed into the event. Luckily, the reporters were really just acting as photographers, taking pictures of Guin and Lance. A few of them whistled at Guin to turn and look at them, and she obliged, knowing that she likely needed the good press. She didn't really care what they said about her in the papers, but Pepper had been quite clear about it - she needed the press to write about how she was clean and recovered. It'd help Stark Industries' image or something like that.

Once they got inside, Guin dropped the fake smile and stopped waving. "My mother? She'll probably grab us for a photo op the moment someone tells her that we're here...As for the computers, hopefully less time than whatever that ends up being," she whispered back to Lance. She spotted Hammer in the back with a man she didn't recognize and for whatever reason, he sent a chill down her spine. It was as if she could just sense something dangerous about him - like a predator in the midst of an oblivious flock. "That guy next to Hammer...Does he give you the creeps too?" Guin whispered to Lance, as she found their assigned table and sat down.

Present Day - The Castle: December 21st, 12,507 - 11:45 AM

@LadyRunic: His walk to the Palace is relatively uneventful. The crowds are larger than they should be outside the Palace grounds this time of day. After a few minutes, he'll be able to overhear why. Apparently, the ExtraOrdinary Wizard was behind schedule and had not yet finished securing the Palace grounds Magykally. Only the most important guests were being allowed through at the moment, until the ExtraOrdinary Wizard was able to give the all clear to the guards and allow the general public through. Rhys will be able to spot Fleur amongst the crowds waiting to gain entry.

Arya Rincewind

Location: the Palace

Arya and Rowland were both hard at work setting up various protective Charms and warding. Even with two ExtraOrdinary Wizards on hand, it was a difficult job - further complicated by the arrival of some of the guests who were milling about the grounds, looking for seats they wished to take. It was to be an outdoor Coronation and while it made it beautiful, it also made it just as challenging. It was a full fifteen minutes before Arya and Rowland finished, with both of them looking a bit out of breath as they went to rejoin Cuyler at the front of the Palace.

"Thank you for...Where is Atkin?" Arya asked Cuyler, her emerald eyes widening with concern. She clenched her hand slightly with worry. She understood Atkin felt a need to wander and that perhaps he felt slighted by being left with Cuyler, but she and Rowland had needed complete concentration to cast their Magyk so quickly and efficiently. Atkin didn't know nearly enough Magyk to assist as well. And of all the days for Atkin to decide to wander off, it was when his life was potentially at risk due to the Queste and the бесконачни каменци.

Rowland performed a simple locater Charm in order to search for Atkin. "Ah, he is not far, my dear - no need to worry," he reassured Arya. "It seems Atkin has wandered down the Long Walk..." The Long Walk was a relatively famous location of the Palace. It led to the throne room and was lined with treasures from various lands and eras. Centuries ago, Queen Cerys' husband had decorated the halls after they had been made barren, with the Long Walk receiving the most care and attention.

"Thank you, Rowland," Arya told her mentor with a strained smile. The stress was beginning to get to her slightly.

Nera Hawthorn

Location: Port Barge ---> the Castle - South Gate

Nera turned her face to hide her irritation with the comments on the choice of aliases. She held her tongue, resisting the urge to berate Fleur and Malekith for their complaints. While they all had their own areas of wisdom, neither of them had spent as much time in the Castle as she had. Esren Carlan was a respectable name and while not the most gorgeous, certainly not hideous. As for Malekith's protest, Nera understood his initial knee jerk reaction to it yet it helped to have an established relation when going undercover in such a manner.

"Kao da znaju koja je stvarna moć...," Marya whispered to her sister, who nodded in agreement with a bit of a giggle. "Treba li da ih pitamo da li bi prava moć volela knjigu ili nešto čitati?" Medea whispered back, prompting snickering from Marya. Nera raised an eyebrow at the pair, wondering if they'd realize that speaking that ancient tongue in public would only draw attention to themselves.

"Girls..." Nera warned them softly. Marya - or perhaps it was Medea - rolled her eyes but the two of them quieted down. The rest of the ride on the barge was uneventful and it was a relatively quick one. The barge let them off at the docks by the South Gate, with almost every passenger getting off and making a beeline for the same entrance. The guards were talking amongst themselves, randomly stopping individuals in the crowd to ask for their name and occupation. The twins got off the barge, glanced at the others, and shrugged a bit before one of them grabbed Nera and they vanished in the blink of an eye, only a gust of wind signaling that they had been there.

Malekith ended up being stopped by one of the guards, who looked him over. "Name, occupation, reason for visit," they grunted at him. The other guard had a pad of paper out, writing down a rough description of Malekith and preparing to record his responses.

Myrus Silvers

Location: the Throne Room - The Palace

"Yeah, sure thing Lyra," Myrus replied, giving her a bit of a smile. He figured that the dragon egg had been abandoned in a dusty crypt for this long that it was Lyra's right to keep it. No one in his family had even been aware that it existed and he didn't feel particularly attached to it. His mind was more focused on other matters - his mother's murder and his sister's coronation that would begin rather soon. They were supposed to have had more time to plan and prepare for it this morning, but that had all changed. His entire life had changed.

"Come, we must not be late," Asha insisted. Myrus nodded and began to lead the way to the throne room. Once there, his eyes widened as he spotted the dead princess on the floor. It wasn't the first time that blood had stained the throne room in Castle history, but it unnerved him to say the least. His mother's death had been bloodless. He practically stumbled his way over to his sisters. "Valda, Luna...Are you two alright?" he asked nervously. There was a small tear in Valda's robes from where the bullet had been, but Jadis raised her hand and whispered a spell, repairing the robes.

"Prince Myrus," Wylie greeted, giving him a slight bow. Myrus gave him a bit of an odd look but he nodded. Most foreigners tended to refer to him that way, though hardly anyone in the Castle did. To them, he was just Myrus Silvers - or perhaps Myrus Marcellus on special occasions - the brother of the Queenling. "Princess Snaera accused Princess Valda of murder and in self defense, this tragedy occurred," Wylie explained.

"Do not fret, Myrus," Puck reassured him. "My sister and I will attend to these sorry affairs. Please, go with your sisters and the other delegates - the Coronation will begin soon."

Myrus hesitated before nodding. Jadis instructed most of her coven to go outside and get seats for the Coronation, with a few remaining behind to tend to the mess in the throne room. Emperor Taj approached Valda with his sister at his side, extending his hand to her. "My condolences and congratulations, Princess Valda," Emperor Taj said simply. "We have much to speak of together - after you are crowned." His sister was glancing at Jadis and Puck. She then whispered something to Valda quietly.

Guinevere Stark, Folly Valeska, and Dean Kesseli

Location: Blackbird

"So you decided to be a human shield?" Guin scolded Lance. She gave him a look, knowing exactly what he was talking about. Their high school years had been eventful, to say the very least. She pulled out her phone and went over to favorites. Tony was on there, as well as Pietro. In fact, the two of them were tied for who she called the most - though she generally only called Pietro for a few seconds, as he'd just run over to wherever she was. The conversations with Tony were of a proper length.

She glanced up from her phone as Mira brought up the incident involving the Stark Expo a few years back. "Sonic, let's not talk about that," she told her friend. "Mind control isn't an experience you look back on very fondly," she added cryptically. Guin then glanced as the speedsters arrived with Mary, letting out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding in. She could tell that Mary had some blood loss, but everyone seemed to have some at this rate. She stepped off to the side, calling her father.

"Hey, Dad? Look, we just got attacked by Sentinels - it's like someone said Order 66 up here. Everyone's safe, but we have some injured people. Going to head off to Stark Tower, if you can get medical ready for us," Guin informed her father, leaning up against the wall of the Blackbird. "And before you freak out - I'm not hurt at all. Lance isn't in the best of shape - got a fucking glass collection in his back. So maybe pre-warn Banner, that way the other guy doesn't make a mess again. We just remodeled, after all..."

Dean was still staring at Lance with shock. Sure, part of him wanted to continue the awkward conversation with Mira, but this kid was Lance...Banner...And unless that happened to be a verbal typo, which he doubted, it meant that the Hulk had a son. Everyone knew that Iron Man had a kid - it wasn't like Guin had done a terrific job at staying out of the spotlight - but Banner?! It was blowing his mind and Dean stared at Lance, trying to wrap his head around it. It must have been as cool as it was terrible. He loved his parents and he got into fights with them from time to time - imagine getting into a fight with the Hulk!

"Woah...I didn't know there was another Avenger kid," Dean told Lance, his eyes still wide with astonishment. "What was it like, growing up with...you know, the Hulk, for a dad?" he then asked, perhaps a bit insensitively.

Folly had gone over to Mary, assessing her head wound. There were moments where she wished she could have transferred her healing factor to another. This was one of those. Mary was easily one of her favorite people in the universe and to her, she had died a long time ago. But seeing this one change to the future already come into effect - Folly couldn't help but smile. "You'll be fine," she whispered to Mary. "The injury isn't fatal," she then assured her. After all, Folly was an expert on identifying if a particular wound would end up killing someone.

Folly sat down next to Mary, after handing her a clean thing of gauze to press up against the wound. She then looked at the Future Pietro, beaming with happiness. Even if the world still ended...at least Mary was okay. She knew that her own younger counterpart was in a dangerous spot at the moment, but Folly didn't care.

Guinevere Stark

Guin felt a bit ridiculous, given the outfit Pepper had selected for her. She was on thin ice with her father and she figured that arguing with Pepper about clothing wasn't going to help that at all. As far as school had gone, it was more or less just as she expected. She had gotten into six additional arguments with teachers, with a few of those resulting in detentions. She was beginning to be on a first name basis with the detention monitor, tending to use the time to just listen to music by herself. The detention hall was a surprisingly peaceful place around the school.

"Shit, she's here..." Guin muttered as Happy pulled the limo up to the curb. She was used to these sort of crowds, but she despite popular belief, she didn't enjoy this type of attention. It wasn't the attention she craved. It was just meaningless - photographers obsessing over her just because of who her father was and not because of her own accomplishments. She spotted Maddie going into the party on the arm of some wealthy bachelor. It didn't really matter to Guin who it was, but she recognized Aldrich Killian.

Guin grimaced at Lance, before she got out of the limo, taking her purse with her. It contained the all important flash drive. There was a second flash drive that she had given to Lance as well. Then it wouldn't matter who got to a computer first - as long as one of them could pull it off. "Okay, take my arm and smile with me for the cameras," she whispered to him. She'd never done one of these things with a date before, but she had seen her father enter them with Pepper tons of times. She was hoping that during the dinner, one of them would be able to make a break for the computers - and maybe the other could play interference if necessary.

Meanwhile, Hammer had already arrived, sipping his drink as he smiled at his associate - Kilgrave.

Guinevere Stark

"Oh hell no, Lando. If you have some sort of agreement with my dad about me, then you have to tell me," Guin insisted. Even if her father had forbidden Lance from talking to her about it, she still wanted to know. In fact, it just made her all the more curious. What could it have been about? Her initial hypothesis that it was monitoring her in order to keep her sober had been rejected from Lance and he was a horrible liar, so she figured he was telling the truth about that not being it.

"And we're still so talking about that, but as for these events...You wear something nice, take a few photos, eat food that they likely spent at least 20% of the donations on, and pretend to like other rich people when all you want to do is go home, listen to Tainted Love and play Pac-Man for a few hours," Guin explained with a shrug. She then grimaced slightly. She was always forced to wear dresses to these sort of things. She mostly just went to the Stark Expo, as well as Stark Industries hosted events. Each year, she wanted to wear a power suit - and each year, Pepper would pick out some sort of dress for her to wear instead. "As for convincing my dad...You go talk to him. I don't know if he wants to talk to me at the moment..."
