Andromeda Aldrich

Location: Ville au Camp - Carnivale Set Up
Skills: N/A

Andromeda still had more questions about limbo and Eve's fate, even though Gilbert was seemingly read to move on conversation wise. James and Sophia were whispering with each other, which Andromeda figured had to do something with their common timeline. It was a bit isolating at times, being from a timeline all of its own. Faith, Sophia, and James all were from the same one - even Alicia from what she understood had had some time spent there. Faith seemed to be very irritated and annoyed, and while Andromeda could sort of understand that, she knew that acting prickly with near-immortal(?) deities wasn't going to get her anywhere. Sophia was sweet enough to fill Faith in, something that Andromeda had been about to do. She was a seeker of knowledge in a ways - and although the expression was more pretentious than she would have liked, she wasn't going to keep Faith in the dark.

She couldn't help but feel a bit of pride as Siduri praised her - like a high school student being praised by a college professor. However, the confirmation of her question did not bode well for Eve. As Siduri mentioned that Eve lost a piece of herself with each one of them they made, Andromeda grimaced a bit but it made sense. Nothing could be created or destroyed, only changed - so there was a balance to that statement that she could understand. For them to live, Eve had to fade. She blushed slightly as James elbowed her with praise.

Andromeda then raised an eyebrow at James' stiff speech. It wasn't something she would have ever imagined coming out of his mouth. But as an albino herself, she nodded a bit at his idea of getting out of the sun. "I'm sorry, but I do have one more question... I know you didn't come here to help us understand what happened to Evelina... So why did you come here?" she asked, her voice soft as to be polite. After everything she had seen in her life, she didn't believe in coincidence. Maybe understanding why Siduri was here would help them with Evelina. Or maybe it would alert them to some other situation.

Present Day - The Castle: May 4th, 12,508 - 10:15 PM

Wizard Way -> the Palace - @eclecticwitch

As Mona continues to follow the trail, she will end up in front of the Palace. A long but short building, it has beautiful sloping green lawns in front of it. There are guards stationed at various points but she should be able to get to the entrance without much trouble. There is the Palace Boat Launch nearby as well, allowing access to the waters of the moat and a connection to the river, allowing ease of travel to various places in the Small Wet Country Across the Sea. Perhaps these stones have a connection to the Queen and the Royal Family? At any rate, the trail clearly continues inside of the Palace itself.

"I can never win with you," Richard said, shaking his head at Runa. The Goddess of Lies was about to make a comment in return, only for Thalia's Trophy Husband to follow her back into the Great Hall. Runa relaxed slightly as he left. She never liked that man very much, even when they first met thousands of years ago - he reminded her too much of her uncle.

"Klara, we'll give you some privacy," Runa told Klara, before taking her husband's arm and heading into the Great Hall as well. She had heard a commotion in there and she wanted to ensure that Bruce and his fiancΓ©e were unharmed. Her eyes flickered towards the entrance door as Ahote came inside, noting that the Floor did not display a single greeting.

It was mourning for Arya still.

Banner paused for a moment, looking a bit like a student trying to remember a definition for a test, before it clicked in his mind what exactly CradleSnatching was. He would have threatened the woman but she was Magykal and that happened to be one of his weaknesses as the Hulk. "You haven't done anything to hurt or threaten my family - you've only helped. Until that changes, you're fine with me," Banner told Fleur honestly. Too many people were judged by past actions and if that was the case with her, he was happy to give her a fresh start and a second chance.

As Fleur left and came back with the towels, Banner got them properly assembled. "Okay, Myth, you're going to give a big push on the count of three," he told her calmly. She was ready to give birth. He hadn't been there for the birth of his sons - but he was happy to be there to see the birth of his great-grandson. "One... two... three - Push!"

Runa was hanging back slightly, there if she was going to be needed but not wanting to get into the way. She held Lance's hand tightly, smiling a bit. This was the birth of their very first grandchild - and hopefully not the last.

Wizard Tower - the Courtyard - @BlueSky44

Rainbrook didn't speak at first, despite Zekarra trying to calm him down. He would have hugged his best friend, but he knew there was a decent chance her father would try to kill him. Instead, he just looked at the ground, the pink still surrounding the iris of his eye. He took a shaky breath, trying his best not to Charmspeak as he spoke to Zekarra. He hated that he had that ability and took measures to never, ever use it.

"My mother sent me here to save her... And I failed," Rainbrook finally said, before he kicked the ground in fury. His toe throbbed from kicking stone but he didn't care. "Apollodora won't be born... My baby sister is dead because of me... A-and who knows what my father will do," Rainbrook rubbed his eyes, trying to get the tears to stop.

"When you're little, y-you assume your parents are soulmates... B-but seeing them today... They weren't..." Rainbrook sobbed, his chest heaving. "I shouldn't be here, Zekarra..."

The Palace - the Queen's Room - @BlueSky44@Nallore

Valda hadn't teleported them just anywhere in the Palace - she took them to the most secure location. It was the Queen's Room, the entrance way hidden and barred to all who were not blood relatives of the Queen. Myrus nodded meekly at Luna, taking deep breaths and trying to let the energy just leave his hands, rather than trap it there. He relaxed his shoulders unconsciously, unstuck his tongue from the roof of his mouth, and just breathed.

The glow went away. "I'm fine..." he then said. Everything had broken out into chaos at the wedding, not something that he had imagined for an event held at Wizard Tower. He couldn't help but have noticed that the ExtraOrdinary Wizard hadn't been present. That was never a good sign. "I-if Fleur is back... We need to run..." he said softly, looking at his siblings. "She won't stop until she's won..."

He didn't want to find out what prize Fleur had in mind.

The Playground - Washington D.C.: October 24th, 2020 - 3:15 P.M.

@Sanity43217: Agent Wu isn't the only newcomer to base it seems. Your character has arrived at the Playground a little later, heading inside just in time for the alarms to blare. He is due to report to Agent Cassandra Reed, as she'll be serving as his Supervising Officer until he has grown accustomed to the team. Agent Clint Barton is in charge of the team, with the second in command being Agent Tinley Abercrombie. Your character will emerge in the hallway outside of Technology and spot Agent Abercrombie heading out of the meeting room down the hall.

@Nallore: Harry will find the following sets of fingerprints on the file, identified as belonging to these individuals:
  • H. McCormick
  • D. Novikova
  • G. the Cat
  • C. Barton
  • R. Banner
  • T. Stark
  • H. Pym
  • H. Stark
  • P. Carter

Dominika Novikova

Location: Outside - Downtown Washington D.C.
Skills: Metal Bending
"...I'd rather you didn't. Most metal manipulators end up going insane and I don't want that to happen to you," Novikova said. She could feel the vibrations of the Earth and she reached out, putting a gloved hand over Maria's lips and she kissed her hand, effectively giving Maria a kiss. Maybe one day they'd be able to have a normal kiss again. There were some effective inhibitors out there but she didn't want to have to change Maria in order to be with her. That just didn't feel right to her. Novikova then ensured that her shades were on tightly, not wanting another incident like what had happened with Luminous - thankfully, that bitch was rotting in the Raft - and she turned to the Purifiers once more.

She tried to reach out and crumple the automatic rifles, but instead she just managed to tug them from their hands and they landed on the ground. The Purifiers hadn't had their safeties on and the guns fired on impact, a handful of the bullets heading towards Maria and Novikova. Novikova shoved Maria out of the way instinctively, narrowly managing to stop the metal bits before they hit the two of them.

"It's a metal manipulator!" one of the Purifiers shouted, staring directly at the two of them.

"...Our suits malfunctioned...Typical..." Novikova muttered under her breath. They no longer had the camouflage they were relying on. This entire excursion was turning into a huge mistake. "I can try to fix them on the fly, but I doubt that'll help," she said, as the Purifiers simply picked up their guns from the ground, ready to return fire.

Bonnie Chase

Location: The Playground - Bio-Engineering and Research
Skills: N/A
The proximity alarm was going off, which usually meant that either a pack of teenagers had gotten too close to the secret entrance or there was trouble up above. Bonnie was too rattled to even remember the names of the most likely groups in the area and she sniffled, trying her best not to cry. It had been a long time since she buried James. She knew that she had feelings for Agent Flynn - strong feelings. He made her laugh. And he was certainly muscular... Bonnie bit her lip. She didn't know what to say or do.

"The um, the alarm..." Bonnie started to say, but then it was shut off. Although she did have experience when it came to fighting in the field, she generally wasn't sent out on combat missions. She specialized in anatomy and biochemistry, making her ideal to serve as a support agent. She'd patch up any injuries and then be sent to figure out any odd developments powers wise. She took another deep breath, but her eyes were still watering.

"I um - I really like you, Agent Flynn," Bonnie said. "You should probably go get ready or Abercrombie will kill you..." She was good friends with Tinley - not as close as she was with Cass but she really enjoyed working with Tinley and just being friends with her. Her eyes then went to look at Flynn's for a moment and Bonnie knew that she had a choice. She could live in the past and mourn for James forever. Or she could take a leap of faith. She had to be strong - she knew that she was strong, but Tempest's comment about marriage had shaken her.

Bonnie then took the leap and she kissed Flynn's cheek. "Now go - really, Tinley is scary when she's angry." Bonnie sniffled slightly but she was smiling a bit. She figured that she would essentially be told by Cass to be ready in medical, though Tempest did make her job a bit redundant at times.

Raynor Blake

Location: the Quantum Realm
Skills: Light Manipulation
"You can play healer later, okay Sparky? Right now we have bigger problems..." Raynor pointed out. He had no idea how to deal with the literal army of giant quantum beasts they were facing down. It was bad enough that they looked like spiders too, given Sparky's phobia of them. They didn't have much more time before they would be completely overwhelmed.

"Hold on, I have an idea!" the Wasp suddenly exclaimed. "Theresa, I'm going to need some electricity. We're going to lead the spiders into a time vortex. It'll suck them in and get them away from us." The Wasp put on what looked like binoculars, scanning the area around them. She then spotted the tell tale purple energy what seemed like a mile away.

"There!" the Wasp pointed. "If you can get the spiders to follow your electricity, we can make it out of here alive."

"Or get sucked into the time vortex ourselves..." Raynor pointed out, not all too happy with this idea. He didn't want Sparky to put herself at risk on a long shot, but they also didn't have much of a choice. The spider army was getting closer and closer, and his powers were weak. He only had about one good blast of light left in him.

He was going to regret this - he knew it. "You need more time," he said, before cupping Sparky's face and he gave her a kiss. "I love you," he said, before turning and he let out a blood curdling scream, unleashing as much light as he possibly could to create a barrier between them and the spiders. Raynor's eyes turned white and the blinding barrier was holding up for the moment, vaporizing a few hundred spiders who came into contact with it but there were still more.

"Theresa, now!" the Wasp instructed, as Raynor collapsed to the ground and the light faded.

Neil Spellman

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

Neil's eyes were scanning the room quietly, noticing the new arrivals. There was a biker chick sucking on a lollipop over at one of the tables, a sight that made him do a bit of a double take since he didn't remember ever seeing anyone like her before. However, given the misfits they already had at the school - some reformed Brotherhood members, a girl raised by wolves(?), an heiress to a billion dollar tech company, the niece of the Phoenix, and so many more... he couldn't be that surprised to see a biker. Hell, the more he glanced into that corner, the more she reminded him of Wolverine. Maybe she was his niece or something. The brief bit of analysis helped to take his mind off of the pain for a moment, but his mouth felt like sandpaper and his bones like molten magma.

As Sara took his hand and gave it a squeeze, Neil's eyes watered. He really liked this girl and for the first time, he was actually having a proper... interaction(?) with her... and it was after he had been mind controlled to try to kill the others at X-Mansion. It was more or less on par with the sort of things that happened to the X-Men, but it didn't make it any easier. He couldn't help but feel ashamed and guilty as he looked at Sara. She was so beautiful and strong. Sara's aunt, the one and only Jean Grey, then approached him, carrying what looked like hearing aids.

Did he really deserve those, after everything he had done? He knew that his aunties had told him stories about people being possessed, force to do things that they never would have - and he knew that no one else who was mind controlled was to blame for what they had done... but knowing all of that still didn't help to take the guilt away. Neil nodded slightly at Jean. "I-I can... Thank you," he said softly. He had his hearing back just in time to hear Lance arguing with his father - something that put Neil a bit on edge, especially when Lance sent a blast of light off at him.

"...Attacking the Hulk in medical... What could possibly go wrong..." he mumbled.

Dean Kesseli

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

Dean couldn't help but smile slightly, overhearing Bobbi's comments about walking in on dry humping teenagers. Quicksilver and his girlfriend were a bit ridiculous sometimes in his opinion - but knowing the terror he himself was experiencing, having ripped out Richard's kidney and found out that he had withheld information vital to Max's life... He could understand wanting to hold someone closely right now. He would have wanted to hold Carolina, if it wasn't for the fact that when he even contemplated touching someone, all he could think about was phasing through and ripping out their heart. It wasn't that he was a bad person - just that the darkness had held him and now, Dean was scared that it was a part of him - that even without Mesmero, that was the person he would become.

Hearing Annie's question, Dean hesitated for a moment. He panicked and couldn't think of anything that made him happy. But then, he remembered what he had asked Beast - that he had wanted to go home. He just wanted to see his parents and baby sister and run away from all of this. How did that saying go, anyways? You either die the hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. Dean didn't like either options. He'd rather go back to the suburbs, live the white picket fence life and grow old and just be a civilian, a bystander. "My baby sister... Carrie... She's - she's real little," Dean said. "Got the stupidest little smile too..."

The corners of his mouth twitched a bit. She was adorable - but it helped that she was young. Little siblings were almost always cute when they were young. It was when they got older and became annoying that that stopped being the case. He had actually discovered that he had powers, when he had to swoop in quickly and catch her from a fall at the park. At Carolina's request, Dean turned bright red. He didn't think she'd be interested in a guy like him still.

Someone who nearly murdered someone.

"I... Sure," Dean said, not knowing what else to say to Carolina. "Maybe we can meet somewhere... I don't think I'm going to stay here," he then admitted softly. As Allison said the name of the man who had held his mind captive, Dean was just relieved that she seemed to be fine. It was good that she was stepping up too, since he saw Mary in one of the beds among the injured.

Guin Stark

Location: First Sub Basement - Operating Theater
Skills: N/A

Guin turned bright red as some biker girl came into medical, making a comment about seeing teenagers dry humping. She hadn't really been paying attention to her surroundings, given the fact that Pietro had forced her into a bed in medical on the far side of the room, and she then had a slight PTSD induced panic attack at all of the blood and injuries. Of course, Pietro was incredibly attractive and that didn't help keep her from being distracted. Banner made a comment on it as well and part of Guin wanted to hide underneath a blanket.

Of course, at least Lance was stealing a bit of the attention as he sent a blast off at his father. She could see some visible tension near Mary, Richard, Ayita, and a few of the original X-Men. Sara was holding some kid's hand. Annie, Carolina, and Dean were all conversing. People had split off into their own little groups and not all of the interactions seemed like they were going to end well. "Lando, face it, he's going to make you rest whether you want to or not," Guin pointed out to him. However, as her thoughts drifted towards technology and all, looking at the set up Lance had at the moment, she recalled what she had seen earlier.

Mary had been doing something in technology - right before she attacked them. Remembering the time when Hammer had hired a mind controller to try to steal from Stark Industries, Guin's eyes widened a little bit. There was so much alien technology at X-Mansion - enough that any of it would be worth stealing. "This was all a freaking distraction!" Guin declared suddenly. "Mesmero or whatever was after something - that's why Mare was in technology. And what is worth stealing here at X-Mansion, something you couldn't get elsewhere? And it had to have been a digital transfer since otherwise he would have had Mary try to escape..."

Her stomach grumbled slightly. She wanted pizza. Her head was also still spinning a bit. It helped that Pietro was holding her, since otherwise she would have been swaying a bit. "What are you going on about Guina?" Pietro asked, basically ignoring the comments everyone else had made about the two of them. Though he ignored what he had just said and chuckled slightly, able to tell that she was hungry.

"You're a kleptomaniac. Think about it. If you were going to break into here, what would you want to steal that could be transferred digitally?" Guin asked, her stomach grumbling again.

Pietro fell silent, thinking for a moment. Though he didn't care too much for her calling him a kleptomaniac since he didn't care much for the term at all. "Well... It would have to be something that could be like a file transfer... Like blueprints or schematics for some form of tech that the mansion has... But that could be just about anything when you consider as you said before all of the bits of technology the mansion has, anything would be worth trying to recreate..."

She really wanted pizza now. And the more Guin thought about how much she wanted pizza, the harder it was for her to keep on her train of thought. "Mmm, see the thing is, a lot of this tech is comparable to other stuff that's out there. S.H.I.E.L.D. has the Framework as an alternative to the Danger Room for example. They have space ready quinjets now too. No, there is one thing here though that you can't get anywhere else, something of use to someone with mind powers..."

"Um... I know where you are going with this, and that would be bad, like really bad... But it can't be that easy to steal those blueprints you would think... Like, not many people I don't think have access to those..."

"Damn it I need food...." Guin mumbled. "But that's why it makes sense - because I saw Mary in technology. She'd be one of the few with access. If he was stealing any old plan, he wouldn't have had to send her down there for them - she would have stayed upstairs to fuck with people."

"When was the last time you ate something?" Pietro asked, starting to tunnel vision on her again. Guin shrugged. "Look, that's not important. But if I'm right, then someone needs to go tell Xavier - and I can't since you won't let me leave this dumb bed..." "We can tell him a little later, not like anyone here is likely going anywhere tonight..."

Gene Benaszewski & Nora Kingston

Location: Benha (Docks) -->Tours/Train Depots
Skills: N/A
Gene chuckled a bit, grinning at the thought of using a sled on the sand. She was pretty certain that it would work as well - though at that point, would it really be a sled? It would be more of a sand glider in her opinion. She could just picture it, standing up on a sled as it ran across the dunes, kicking up clouds of dust in her wake. It sounded a bit like paradise. She gave a bit of a wave to J.C's friend, grinning a bit at her. She really did admire her sense of style. Not very many could pull off all black but she certainly did it with style. She had to stop herself from giggling a bit at a pun that not everyone there would be aware of. Oh, the pains of having inside jokes and having those in on them not present...

Hearing Lord Major scoff about Mosi going off to smell the roses, Gene chuckled a bit. "I doubt there's much thought behind it," she said simply. No matter what some people were trained or told to do, they would pick the silliest of options and run off without putting thought into it. Maybe Mosi would get lucky and the roses were the place to be for this. She just hoped to never see the woman turn up back home, as Gene was already feeling a bit of a headache forming at the thought. She shrugged her shoulders slightly, heading along with Lord Major and the others to the train depot. She might as well have some fun while she's here, no?

"Yes, let's do that one!" Gene chimed in, approving of Bella's idea.

Nora meanwhile had gone off with Lauren, turning in a bit of confusion as she corrected her course and went right. She noted the sign for the camel tours as well, thinking that while that would have been fun, they didn't have enough time for a full blown day long excursion and the rides for the day had already been filled and left. The trains however seemed to be much more manageable and appropriate for the time frame they had in mind. She hesitated between the two destinations. She knew next to nothing about both of them, just having the names to go off of. Athribis and Leontopolis. There was something about the first name that stuck out in her mind and she had no better way of making a decision.

"Would you be interested in Athribis?" Nora asked her friend. She didn't want to pressure Lauren if she had her heart set on Leontopolis. Her intuition was telling her that they would find something pertinent to their travels - perhaps if there was nothing of interest at one site, and they were quick about it, they could have time to take the train to a tour of the next one. She did not imagine it to be likely, but it was a slight comfort for her intellectual curiosity, just to think that they theoretically might have that option. "I must confess, I imagine that we will find something of importance... There have been so many events that have been dismissed as coincidence as of late that I am beginning to expect the unlikely to occur."

Washington D.C.: September 8th, 2020 - 10:30 AM

The Mutant Underground - D.C. Station:

Havok raised an eyebrow at Spark Plug, smirking a bit. "I always knew you were just hoping Veil and Saph would get caught, that way you could have some personal one on one time with me," he teased her. He then mimicked a hula-hooping motion with his hips. "That's what you want, right? Some big energy?" He couldn't help it anymore and he started laughing at his own jokes, while Negasonic rolled her eyes and flipped him off before heading over to where Colossus was to let him know.

Sunspot was still blowing off steam - literally - and Cannonball gently pulled him aside, hoping to calm him down before he got too angry and did something he regretted. "She doesn't know what Veil and Sapphire would want!" Sunspot snapped, punching the wall and leaving a red hot hole. "Just take deep breaths buddy, deep breaths..."

In the other room, Negasonic was just tapping her foot, watching Colossus as he dialed up Stretch. "He may not answer phone - bad signal in tunnels," Colossus explained to his apprentice.

The Surface - Sidewalk Outside the National Zoo:

No one seems to be paying attention to Max, Leighton, or Jack. Jack's phone will start to ring again. And Leighton will seemingly have a little cloud of fog around her - the impact of her ice powers trying to activate against the humidity of Washington D.C. Maybe it's time to head back into the tunnels? Or who knows, maybe go into the zoo - it's free since it's a national zoo - and see the pandas! They are adorable if you ask me....

Homeless Shelter - Mutant Friendly:

The boy in the hoodie glanced at Anastasia for a moment, trying to assess whether or not she could be trusted. Sometimes, Purifiers would sneak into these shelters in order to flush out the mutants. However, there was no hiding the fact that he got into fights pretty frequently. It was hard to have this many bruises without getting into a scrap or too pretty often. Eventually, the boy nodded. "Yeah, there is... There's a girl, she likes to hangout at this dive bar three blocks from here. Her girlfriend works for a group like that - called the Underground. You can't miss her. Pink hair, really smiley. Her name's Yukio."

Sunshine

Location: the Morlock Tunnels
Skills: N/A

Sunshine spotted James doing some parts of his workout routine and she paused for a moment, watching him. The concept of having a workout routine was so foreign to her. She had lived on the streets almost her entire life - no one there had the luxury of being able to exercise for fun. They got into shape by running from the police, by hiding from the Purifiers and any other group that would try to do them harm. She closed her eyes for a second and she could still bring back the faint scent of Chitauri blood and smoke to her senses from the day she fled New York City - from the Incident.

She walked on over to James, brushing a bit of knotted hair out of her face. "Thanks," she told him simply. She knew she could have ended up in bad shape after the incident at the comic book store. He didn't have to do that - he could have turned and walked the other way. At the same time though, Sunshine was suspicious of him. Most people wanted something in exchange for help. The Morlocks wanted them to join the community and help them to survive, that much was obvious. But what did James want from her?

"What do you want in exchange?" she then asked him. She didn't have much on her, but she had a Yo-Yo. She really liked her Yo-Yo, but she didn't want to be in someone's debt if she could help it. Her head turned slightly as she heard some people leave the tunnels - it looked like Stretchy Man and his boyfriend were going out to make out or something. She just rolled her eyes slightly. People were so gross.

Spirit Box

Location: Rehab -> Streets of D.C.
Skills: Mediumship
Casper was outside of rehab now, spinning a bit around on the streets. He could have kissed the sky, it was such a gorgeous day in his opinion. Of course, the main reason he was so happy was that he was out of rehab. There were some lovely people there but he never enjoyed being forced to stay clean. Sobriety was overrated. And besides, the drugs helped to keep them out - well, all except for Ben. He didn't mind the ghost of his best friend tagging along, especially since Ben's observational skills were far better than his own. "Look behind you, I think someone's following us," Ben pointed out.

Casper spun around, spotting two people in suits a little ways away. "Don't be so paranoid Ben, there's no way they're following us - why would they?" Casper shook his head, before picking a direction at random and he started walking down the street, away from the people Ben had spotted. "Well, your father is one of the most well known mutant rights activists and you DID just loudly declare you were a mutant a few minutes ago."

"My father is not a mutant rights activist. If he was, he wouldn't have put me through all of that shit - what about my rights Ben?" Casper argued, still ignoring the potential stalkers behind them. Ben just sighed, knowing that it was useless to get into this argument with Casper. Casper hated his father, no matter how much good the man had done for the world, he would always just see the worst in the old man.

"Do you think Jack's even coming? Also, shouldn't we wait by the rehab facility for him?"

"He's coming. He's my baby brother," Casper said, though the smile faded slightly from his face. "And we're not wandering that far off... If he's half a good a cop as he claims to be, then he'll find us easily."

"He's not a cop. You know that right? It's important to me that you know that."

"Wait, he isn't? What is he then? Did he quit? Was he a dirty cop? I could see my brother being a dirty cop - framing someone who was guilty since they didn't have enough evidence. Total Jack move."

Walnut had to bite her tongue, tempted to point out that due to Dr. Swamp's lies, he too could easily be placed in the category of taking lives for fun and games. Yet given that these servants and the woman seemed to have no ill will towards her for her actions, she decided that the subject could be dropped. An enemy in the form of Dr. Swamp was not one she would lose sleep over. He had been foolish enough to attempt (well, successfully) commit murder right in front of her, a total stranger. By her calculations, he would make the same mistake again and then be removed from the playing board.

Could she have responded to Swamp's taunts? Easily. But once more, she was forced to conclude that there would be very little point. The woman seemed to be depending on him for her source of truth. His list of witnesses and testimonies included people who had presumably heard a description from Titian as to what happened in the room, compounded with the events from earlier. As it stood, of those who had been in the room and knew what had transpired, one of them had died and would not be able to lend his story. Walnut was outnumbered. Besides, Amaranthine seemed determined to smooth the scenario over and paint it in the most positive light.

"My apologies, doctor, if this was truly a simple misunderstanding," Walnut said, offering him a slight olive branch as she had shot him. Her mind did flicker back towards what she had seen after shooting Swamp - the horrid sight that was Plum's fallen form! Plum's pet had been bad enough - but that had been truly wicked and awful. As for who the identity of the blackmailer was - she doubted that it was Plum. This matter would not be resolved so easily. "If that man was the mastermind behind all of this - I would be disappointed that his plan to kill us all was not more sophisticated," she concluded. "The earlier plans and designs... the manipulation with the chair... This does not strike me as coming from the same person that masterminded those feats. This is too simple."

Cecily Ashworth

Location: Highway to Hell Grimm
Skills: N/A

Cecily couldn't help but giggle, looking at Roy's Wolverine impression. For what he had on him, it wasn't half bad. She could just see him pining after Jean Grey - though he needed to add on a pair of shades just like Hugh Jackman's. That would really bring the entire ensemble together. "Given your line of work... I think adamantium claws and regenerative healing would come in handy," she pointed out. "But then again, a mutant cop? That just sounds like you're asking for a redneck to try to beat you up," she then added with a bit of a grin. It was so much easier to talk and think about X-Men than anything else that was going on. Maybe she should have gone to work for Marvel Studios, be something there instead of a forensic tech. It certainly would have been safer.

"So... Good news is, American Horror Story can film their next season here and save on effects?" Cecily joked, looking at the haze over the city. It was incredibly unsettling. She couldn't imagine Riley growing up in a place like this. She knew that her childhood hadn't been the best - but this didn't seem like the hometown of a rockstar. It looked more like the location of John Wayne Gacy's vacation home. She then nodded a bit, curious as to what would make such a stark change like this. She wasn't a weather scientist, but Cecily knew that something had to have caused this. Her phone buzzed and she saw the reply from Keystone.

"Keystone said Roberts Security is huge in Europe and based in England. They started supplying security at Justice Memorial after Wentworth's contract ended - concurrently with Caesar's company starting to work at Queensguard... So that's not fishy at all."

Twenty One Years Ago...

It was a hot and humid day in the Castle, with storm clouds converging on the horizon overhead. A young message rat was running as fast as it could from its sender on Alchemie Way, the Senior Alchemie Apprentice Selesia Rincewind. She had sent word to her dear friend, Becky Rowland, that she had gone into labor and was in need of immediate medical assistance. Her husband, Marcus, was busy playing in a Counter-Feet tournament in the Ramblings and she didn't wish to contact him. Now, for a Physik Woman the contents of the message in itself were not unusual for Becky - certainly not enough for her to grab her medical bag and sprint out of her house, wearing only one sock, and make a wild dash for Alchemie Way.

What was unusual however was that Selesia Rincewind had not been pregnant earlier that morning.

Fueled by pure adrenaline, Becky Rowland managed to kick down the purple door of Number 79 Alchemie Way, racing through the house. "Selesia!" she exclaimed, until she heard a scream of pain coming from upstairs. Becky nearly tripped over herself in her hurry, looking like a huge mess as she finally emerged into her friend's bedroom, only to find that Selesia had not been joking.

To her trained eye, Selesia was nine months pregnant and ready to push.

"How did you manage this?!" Becky asked, grabbing a stack of towels from her bag and tugging the blankets away from Selesia on the bed.

"If I knew that, I would be telling you right now!" Selesia snapped, before letting out a scream of pain. "It just happened!"

Becky huffed a bit, but she knew not to let her temper get to her. She was in total shock and that wasn't what her friend needed at the moment. Most people who were nine months pregnant had time to prepare for this. They had an idea of what was coming. Selesia didn't have that. "Alright, Les, you and I are going to get to know each other a lot better than I imagined."

She knelt down and spread Selesia's legs, putting towels everywhere that it would be needed. "You're ready to push," she said, a bit stunned. "On the count of three, I want you to breathe and then push. Okay?"

"Just fucking do it!" Selesia screamed.

"One...Two... Three!"

Blaise Rowland, ExtraOrdinary Wizard of the Castle for over a decade, was not unused to visits from his sister. He was in between apprentices at the moment, allowing them some privacy on the 21st Floor of Wizard Tower. Of course, having the Senior Alchemie Apprentice there with an impossible baby was certainly one of them more unusual things that Becky had brought to him. "And there is no way you just simply did not notice the pregnancy?" Rowland asked Selesia.

"Do you think I'm daft?!" Selesia snapped. Becky sent her a bit of warning look and Selesia pinched the ridge of her nose. "Sorry, Blaise, it's just... I know myself and I know my body. I was normal when I woke up and then all of the sudden, I was the size of a balloon."

Rowland nodded, tapping his fingers on the arm rest of his chair for a moment. "It is no coincidence that this occurred on the seventh day of the seventh month," he said after a pause. "As you are both aware, the seventh child of the seventh child possesses extraordinary magykal abilities... A child with no father, coming into existence on the seventh day of the seventh day..."

"...You think Magyk created the child," Becky summarized. Her brother had an awful habit of beating around the bush and not just getting straight to the point.

"I don't work with Magyk - not really, you know Alchemie is very much distinct from that," Selesia pointed out to Rowland.

"I do not think that we will be privy as to why this happened to you - only how," Rowland admitted, his piercing green eyes looking at the steady brown ones of Selesia. "At any rate... The circumstances of the child's birth should be kept between the three of us. The Wendron and Port witches would only be the first to attempt to abduct a child created by Magyk. I have to imagine the Eastern SnowPlains would have an interest as well."

Selesia scowled, but she nodded. "Becky, would you mind making me a potion or two? Something to give Marcus, to keep him from questioning this..."

"Of course," Becky said, reaching into her bag and handing a vial over to Selesia. "Two drops a day for a month - then a single drop a week for a year. It'll be enough to obscure his memories - to convince him that the child is his."

"Once the child is old enough, I will offer her the ExtraOrdinary apprenticeship," Rowland then said calmly. "If our theories are correct... Then she will need guidance. Her rearing will be incredibly important, in order to avoid letting her become an agent of the Darke.

Fifteen Years Ago...

Life had largely gone unchanged at Number 79 Alchemie Way. Marcus Rincewind, universally agreed to be a failed Sub-Wizard, never really could quite remember much of his wife's pregnancy. He had some suspicions that she had cheated on him with Marcellus Dumont, the Chief Hermetic Scribe, but he never was able to get any proof. His daughter's eyes had yet to turn green, but she had begun attending classes at the Purple School in the Ramblings - the very school all children of wizards attended if they could.

"Arya, get back in here!" Selesia shouted out the window. Marcus was passed out upstairs, having drunk himself into a happy(?) sleep. Selesia preferred it this way. When Marcus was drunk and unconscious, they tended to get into less fights. It then gave her less of an urge to cheat on him out of spite.

"Arya Selesia Rincewind, are you listening to me?!" Selesia shouted, seeing that her daughter had not moved a muscle.

Little Arya Rincewind was just standing there in the grass, looking intently at something that Selesia could not fathom. She tossed down her notes in frustration and put on a pair of shoes, prepared to scold the child and send her to bed without supper for this behavior. "You are grounded!" Selesia screamed, going out the front door and roughly grabbing Arya by the arm.

The child didn't flinch or move.

"Arya, what is the matter with you? Are you listening to me?" Selesia asked, her anger turning into worry. Arya wasn't responding and Selesia snapped her fingers in Arya's face, trying to get some recognition out of those eyes. She knew that Arya would be an unusual child - but the Rowlands had assured her that Arya was developing normally.

"Arya?!"

This time, Arya's eyes flickered and focused on her mother. "Sorry Mummy..."

"Arya, dear, your father's inside - I am sure he'd love to see you," Selesia told her daughter.

She just shook her head. "He's not my daddy."

"Rowland, she can't wait any longer," Selesia explained, back in the comfortable and sadly familiar rooms of the ExtraOrdinary Wizard. Rowland's apprentice, Peter Wylie, was thankfully out of Wizard Tower. He was spending time with his girlfriend, a gorgeous noble from the Eastern SnowPlains. The two were quite smitten.

"Until Peter either completes or terminates his apprenticeship, I cannot take her on," Rowland explained gently. "And besides, Selesia, she's too young..."

"She's having these... these trances. I don't know what goes on in her head during them, but she knows. She knows that Marcus isn't her father and neither is Marcellus. She's told me that she's been speaking to her father."

Rowland raised an eyebrow at that. "How unusual," he murmured, though everything about this case was odd. "How frequently does Arya have these symptoms? Are there any changes to eye color or temperament?"

Selesia shook her head. "I've been checking, thinking I might see a pop of green but there's nothing... The trances are getting often, Blaise. She's having them every day. I feel so powerless to help her, it's like she's stuck in her own little world."

The Royal Physician, Becky, finally decided to weigh in. "I do have a tincture that may be of use... I generally give it to patients exhibiting psychosis, but I believe that it may stop these trances that Arya is experiencing for now, until we know more about what is happening," she explained. She took the tincture from her bag. It was Charmed as to have infinite storage, courtesy of her brother.

"What else will it do to my little girl?" Selesia asked, taking the vial. She appreciated Physik, but she knew that there was bound to be a trade off. The memory potion she had used on Marcus had resulted in his alcoholism. She didn't want to do that to her little girl - she loved Arya, even if she didn't always show it.

"There may be shifts in temperament," Becky explained. "A slight weakening of Magykal ability - but it is only a temporary solution, not a permanent one. I promise you, Les, we will find a way to help her."

"And what if there isn't one?"
