Vinnie's eyes widened as she heard the Australian Lesbian's theory - sure, she didn't know if she was a lesbian, but she had a gut feeling. Gaydar wasn't strictly speaking real, yet she had a strong feeling and she decided to stick by it. A realization came to her with a jolt - she was one of the people that listened to their gut! Cool! "We probably volunteered for it, signed some sort of waiver or form. That'd be so cool though if we're on TV! Where do you think the hidden cameras are? Should we, like, do a shout out for anyone watching back... wherever we're from? I mean clearly you're not from the same place I'm from. Maybe I'm Canadian. About. Sorry. Huh, nope, not Canadian, don't say those words funny." To say that Vinnie was a chatterbox would be an understatement. She committed the girl's name to memory though - Cal.

The red haired girl, Sophia, seemed to be pretty quiet. Vinnie wasn't sure if she was gay or not. She stopped herself just in time from asking that though. The littlest member, a girl with dyed hair, also struck her as a bit on the quiet side. Or maybe, Vinnie realized, she herself was just extremely loud in comparison? "You remember a lizard?" Vinnie asked the British guy, a bit gobsmacked. She wished that she remembered a lizard. "And it was blue? That's so freaking cool! Please tell me it had a weirdly normal name, like Stanley or Fred. Please!!"

Raynor frowned slightly, noticing the twelfth member to walk into the room and collapse, green fluid spewing out of her. He didn't feel outright panic or fear, something interesting for him to think about later. Instead, he observed calmly and cleared his throat. "I'm sure lizards are fun to talk about but... That's not normal."

Vinnie turned to look at what he had pointed out. She dropped her pastry. Her face paled by at least three shades. And she let out a high pitched scream. "ZOMBIE!!!!!!!"

Nancy nodded, beaming with pride as Niah asked her just what else she could do with her gift. "I haven't tried bursting someone's brain like that before, but yeah, I think I'd be able to find the note - just might take some trial and error." It essentially came to trying out pitches at random, sometimes she had the approximate pitch she needed memorized (like for glass) yet she hadn't tried to make someone's head into a bomb before. That would be a fun way to kill monsters though - to just sing or whistle and have them explode. She snickered as the unsuspecting mortal walked on by, looking like he had pissed his pants. Had she not already been claimed by Apollo, she could have easily passed for a child of Mercury.

"Hey Niah... Are you immune to getting wet?" Nancy asked, thinking. Niah's mother was a river goddess - sure, the Styx wasn't the average river but it was a river all the same. "Maybe you've got some Neptune like powers waiting to be unlocked. Rome could finally have a fighting chance when it comes to water battles." She shifted how she was sitting in her seat, propping one foot up against the bottom of her seat, letting her lean forward on her elevated knee. It was nice to think about the War Games and to just talk about the ways they were strong, powerful, badass women.

Cardiff, Wales: February 14th, 2021 - 5:10 P.M.

Cardiff Castle...

Proxima Midnight laughed in Cass' face. She had already killed one of their team today - an Asgardian who appeared to have really been a skrull in the end. That explained why he was so weak and ineffective. His dagger had hardly even wounded her. "Because challenging me one on one worked out so well for the last," Proxima taunted. She didn't have her spear, as Cass had knocked it from her hands, and she was no less threatening for it.

Black Dwarf let out a roar of rage, hearing Maria's taunts. They thankfully provided a means for him to find her, though. He ran after her, managing not to trip over his own two feet despite being blinded. This time, when he swung his mighty axe, he hit Maria in the back. The force was so much that she went flying across the battlefield, colliding with the crumbling stone of Cardiff Castle - much like Oliver had earlier. A blow like that would have killed a normal human, yet Maria's regenerative healing factor was already piecing back together her shattered bones. She'd be back up on her feet soon enough.

Supergiant's focus was split, giving Strange the opportunity he needed to slam the portal shut. The Master of the Mystic Arts then tried to open up a sling ring portal beneath Supergiant's feet that would drop her into a volcano, only to find all of his limbs stiffen. Supergiant had sensed that Oliver was fighting back against her and she judged Strange to be the more powerful foe. Strange's eyes then turned a shade of white as Supergiant controlled his mind like a puppet.

"Mephisto! Back, demon!" Strange shouted, before throwing discs of magical energy at Tempest. They narrowly missed, whizzing over her head.

Bonnie Chase

Location: Outside HM Prison Cardiff
Skills: Emergency First Aid

Strange's portal closed behind Tinley, leaving the team separated, cut into two portions. This wasn't how the plan was supposed to go. Matt, Tinley, Flynn, and Bonnie were the only ones in position to go and find Thane. They didn't have a hacker on them. They wouldn't be able to seamlessly access records if they needed to. It would be all down to luck and intuition. Ebony Maw's form shimmered and he vanished. Maybe he teleported to safety - but would he be able to live more than a few seconds wherever he appeared, thanks to his injuries?

Unfortunately, the party was far from over - Corvus Glaive was still there. "For a bunch of terrans, you're not half bad," he chuckled, blood dripping down the side of his face. Bonnie's knife was still in his eye. The S.H.I.E.L.D. agent was warily moving backwards, her other two blades drawn. She didn't dare make a sudden movement, not even to acknowledge the others and tell them she was okay. "Bring Thane to the Stonehenge by midnight and you will be rewarded. Fail to do so and the full strength of the Black Order will hunt you like dogs and raze your cities."

"No," Bonnie told him firmly. "Thane is under our protection."

His face curled into a sinister smile. Corvus Glaive moved like a blur, zipping over to one of the parked vehicles. With ease, like he was lifting a small kitten, he picked up the vehicle and threw it at the agents. It hit the ground in front of the agents, pieces of metal and bits of the truck flying like shrapnel. Matt was the lucky one - he was completely unscathed. Bonnie fell to the ground, hunks of metal embedded into her armor. Tinley and Flynn were pinned together underneath what had been the truck bed - Tinley's left leg was broken, whereas Flynn's right kneecap was shattered.

"Some protection," Corvus Glaive sneered. "You should have taken my offer." He then walked calmly into the prison, his glaive at his side. Even with one eye taken out, his depth perception wasn't that skewed - he must have had enhanced senses of some sort.

Bonnie winced, feeling underneath her shirt after removing the outer layer of armor. Several hunks of the metal had pierced her flesh, going through the armor. She took her backpack of sorts off, reaching inside carefully. She assessed the damage as best as she could. The armor had stopped it from being fatal. She wrapped her wound in gauze and tapped it as best as she was able to. It would have to be enough for now. Bonnie then carefully slid the outer layer of armor back on, trying not to disturb the bandages. "Tin? Flynn? Matt?" Bonnie asked, stumbling a bit as she looked for the others amidst the wreckage.
Clio

Clio nodded, in total agreement with her sister. If a gungan was out in this sort of cantina in Tatooine, they were up to nothing good at all. They were likely the scum of the galaxy and that was exactly the sort of person they were here to seek out. Picking up her drink, she took another swig, barely able to keep herself from coughing this time. She wouldn't be able to inspire fear in the gungan based on her alcohol tolerance. Of course, talking with people and negotiating tended to be her sister's thing. Clio was more likely to threaten them, try a Jedi Mind Trick, or simply point a weapon at them. Maybe even offer to help them steal something in order to get the information they needed. There was more than one way to pick a lock, so to speak.

She walked forward and took a seat at the gungan's table, forcing a smile. "I'm Clio, this is Bellona. Mind if we chat?" she set her drink down, already settled in. Her body language was clear. They were going to chat whether he agreed to it or not.

The gungan narrowed his eyes. "Looky, yous goen find una empty table, Jedi."

Clio had to bite the inside of her cheek to keep from laughing. She wasn't intimidated by this dude at all. Sure, he was covered in scars and logically, she knew he was a threat but... She just couldn't take Gungan Basic seriously. "Nah, I think wesa like this table," she replied, mocking him just a little bit.

Nancy tilted her head slightly, hearing Niah refer to Ares, the Greek war god. She knew that Madalyne was a legacy of Ares, not Mars - and from what she knew, the difference between the aspects was that Ares was bloodthirsty and didn't care if people died, whereas Mars was into more clean and strategic warfare. "That'd be pretty rad, I'd be down to learn how to use the Mist," she told Mads. Truthfully, it would have been a nice way to get out of having her bunk in the barracks properly cleaned. If she used the Mist, then she could ace inspection each time without having to do a bit of work. And of course, there was the more ethical use of manipulating the Mist in order to send monsters away rather than fighting them.

"Y'know, making people mad is pretty useful - get inside their heads, keep 'em from thinking, it's easier to beat them," Nancy mused. She had met a lot of demigods that didn't think their gifts were particularly useful. It was all about finding a way to apply them. Sure, it was a bit hypocritical given how much Nancy hated her prophetic abilities, yet she had inherited something else from her father. Apollo was also the god of music. "At first, I thought I could just sing well, y'know? But then I discovered I could do this..."

Her eyes darted around as a mischievous smirk appeared on her face. She spotted one of the passengers nearby with one of those glass cups, the sort that would be filled with water or some iced beverage from Starbucks. Nancy started to whistle, just a simple steady note, and she concentrated. The vibrations of the noise filled her ears and she felt a rush, as the pitch of her whistle changed to match the resonant frequency of the glass. The cup burst, spilling the unsuspecting passenger's drink everywhere. "Ta-da."

Leda thought about it for a moment. She doubted that Marysas would move Calliope. He struck her as the self assured type, the sort of douchebag that would waltz around claiming they had swagger. "Either way, Backdoor Comedy is a good starting point... He's probably counting on having his goons kill us. I dunno about you two, but he seemed pretty rotten and acted like the sort of self assured arse who wouldn't think he'd need to move the Muse." Briefly, she wondered whether Calliope was the muse that oversaw comedy. Her mind quickly reminded her though that that was Thalia - not to be confused with the famous daughter of Zeus. "Maybe you should take a kip in the truck, see if you find out anything else." She glanced at Zeke, as Kristin had left to go check them out of the room.

She grabbed her things, having shoved most of her stuff back into her bag already. She traveled relatively light. Kristin had her magic compass, yet Ultraviolet was secure around her neck in pendant form. Leda left the room just a few minutes after Kristin had, heading out to the truck. She unlocked it with her keys, having to manually insert them into the driver's side door, since it didn't have a handy fob to use. "I'm thinking we can make a stop in Atlanta," Leda suggested to the daughter of Athena. "I can maybe get us to Houston tonight, but it's more likely to be tomorrow since I can't switch off driving."

The engine roared to life as she inserted the key into the ignition. Leda fiddled through the radio stations, waiting for Zeke to emerge from the motel and get in.

Veil and Sunshine

Location: Mutant Underground Hideout - First Floor: Training Room
Skills: Invisible Energy Manipulation, Investigation
As she came into the training room with Spark Plug, Sunshine was instantly struck by how cold it was. She could see her breath in front of her face and she shivered, holding her arms. It was the middle of December in Washington D.C., so the chill was far from abnormal - but she had thought that the princess and James had set up some heating systems for them. Maybe they had failed. She wouldn't have been surprised if the princess' stuff wasn't up to par. Sunshine shot a dirty look at Glimpse. She probably ruined James' design or something. "Why do rich people always have to call themselves royalty in their mutant names?" Sunshine grumbled. She wasn't thrilled at the idea of seeing Leighton.

Veil sighed. She didn't have a personal connection to Jinx, yet she still felt a bit responsible for Leighton. "Yeah, sounds like it. The first message gave an apartment complex. With them moving to Macy's, they're either trying to abduct this person, kill them, or recruit them... I'm not happy with any of those options." The information with Casper and Magneto didn't concern her as much as it perhaps should have. Magneto was a member of the Hellfire Club. Casper hadn't come and found her yet to explain what he had seen. Sage, at least, was giving them concrete facts.

She fell silent, hearing what Sapphire had said. Of course, no one but Veil could see Sapphire right now. Sapphire hadn't asked her to remove the invisibility that was giving her privacy. "... Casper apparently experienced that too," she murmured. "I believe you, Sapphire. And I know this is horrible timing, but we need to leave to help save someone from the Hellfire Club. If you want to stay here, I get it. We'll talk about this more on the way if you'd like... Is it okay if I make you visible?"

Sunshine shivered as the chill intensified even more. It took her a moment to realize what was going on. She couldn't see Sapphire, but she had heard her scream something about murdering Havok's girlfriend. Her mind couldn't piece much else of it together though, as Sapphire had been so quiet and she had been busy thinking about whether or not she'd get the chance to smack Max over the head too at Macy's. "Could we stop by the Food Court after we kill Leighton?" Sunshine asked. Her stomach growled.

Casper Theriot

Location: Mutant Underground Hideout - the Second Floor Hallway
Skills: Mediumship
"Maybe Fred crawled on out here to try to comfort Jackie in his time of need. Separated from his child, it's a tragedy," Casper suggested. He hadn't seen the rat there a few seconds ago, but he also wasn't the most observant of people. It did amuse him to see Waverley hold the dead rat by the tail, knowing that the rotting carcass of Fred was in her bedroom constantly. You would have thought she'd be used to it by now. "Wait, Veil wants to talk to me?" Casper asked Moonwalker, confused.

"Are you sure I couldn't interest her in a conversation with someone more... essential?" he asked. There were tons of people at the Mutant Underground with way more helpful abilities. Besides, he wanted to stay and help his baby brother right now. Alexis was missing! James then revealed that Max had been the one to send the rat. He was pretty sure that was a threat then. "So... Right when Veil is sending us on a thingy with the Hellfire Club, Hellion Numero Uno (that's Spanish for that dumb bitch Max) decides to send us a dead rat that isn't even named Fred... I think he's threatening us and Ben agrees."

"Hey! I do, but at least ask first," Ben sulked.

He then sighed, seeing that Jack had made up his mind to prioritize dealing with the Hellfire Club over finding his kid. "I'm just... I'm worried about my brother, babe. Believe it or not, I'm probably the sane one of my siblings," he admitted to James, planting a worried kiss on his boyfriend's forehead.

"Yeah, that's not right," Ben commented.

At some point during the night, Leda must have gotten cold and crawled under the blankets of the bed, as she woke up in a tangled mess of sheets. She groaned, reflecting for a moment on the dream she had had. It wasn't the most dangerous of quests they were currently on - from what the dream told her, the entire evil plot revolved around dealing a blow to Apollo's ego. Calliope was super cute though. Leda blushed slightly. Even though she didn't believe it was cheating to find other people attractive, she doubted her girlfriend would appreciate her dwelling too much on the Stolen Muse's beauty. "Morning," she told Zeke, figuring he was probably awake.

She waited outside the bathroom door for Kristin to finish up, since she hadn't showered last night. Her eyes felt incredibly heavy. She would have loved to get some more sleep, especially with the long day of driving she had ahead, but the sooner they made it to Texas the better. They needed to finish this before Apollo's competition with Hermes after all. Once Kristin finished, she went into the bathroom and took a shower in record time - less than five minutes - before getting herself cleaned and dressed for the day. Leda braided her hair back to disguise the missing chunk and then put the hat she acquired back on for good measure.

Hopefully no other monsters would want to go eat her hair. "Shower's free," she said, leaving the bathroom.

✨ Rebecca Eventide ✨

Location: Argo III - Upper Deck
Skills: Mystiokinesis, Spell Casting

The fighting had ceased, with demigods coming up from below deck to intervene. The young ones even managed to fell some of the monsters, causing her heart to swell with pride. Andy and Arthur were children of the eldest gods, it was logical for them to have great strength, but the successful application of it was joyous to see. The son of Ares requested for the song to cease and Rebecca nodded. Her skeletal warrior had already returned to whence he came, as his duty was finished. "Τελείωσε," Rebecca cast. The music began to wane until it had faded away entirely. She raised an eyebrow at Demetri's explanation - especially his choice of form for it.

"Are you going to transform into the Lord of the Dead next?" she asked innocently. The Disney movie was filled with inaccuracies, but of course she had seen it. Every little American kid had seen it - it was practically required watching for their culture. She wondered how the child of Ares would react though to this blatant flirting from the changeling. The children of Ares tended to have vicious and brutal tempers. They were bloodthirsty warriors, their desires practically insatiable. It wouldn't have shocked her should Jason decide to escalate things and take to blows against the son of Zeus, though she hoped that he did not. They were in the sky, the realm of Demetri and Andy's immortal father - and they were most certainly at the peak of their abilities here.

She nodded as Alannah gave the instructions for their time on the ship. She was actually quite keen on the idea of learning to pilot the Argo III - the ship was simply beautiful. "Oh, thank you - may the gods bless you," she told Keira, surprised as the daughter of Poseidon used water to heal her wounds. "If I can repay your efforts, please do let me know." Perhaps there was something she could brew for her. Maybe a love potion? It was obvious that Leda was smitten with the daughter of the Earth Shaker. She wondered if the attraction went both ways.

🌈 Leda Storm 🌈

Location: Argo III - Upper Deck

Leda couldn't help but snicker at Demetri's antics. She hadn't seen someone like him before and it was hard for her to really buy that he was the son of Zeus. He seemed more like a Hermes type to her. He also had to be outrageously gay, which made him more likable. It was a bit reductionist, yet Leda found that she usually got along with other queer people best. "Yeah, I do got a question actually - what's the schedule?" she asked Alannah. They were going to be rotating through people, so she figured that was more or less the logical next step.

She was secretly hoping to be paired up with Keira - or at least, anyone but Rebecca. The thought of spending hours on lookout duty with her ex-girlfriend wasn't what she thought of as a good time. Sure, Rebecca hadn't been outright mean or nasty or anything to her... but in a way, that made things worse. It would be easier to hate her if Rebecca were horrible. Leda didn't regret how their relationship had ended, she had glimpsed the darkness in Rebecca's soul and didn't want to see more of it. A bit of her even felt a bit jealous, uncomfortable, with Keira using her powers to heal her. "Woah... That's bloody brilliant," Leda made herself say, giving Keira a big smile. "I bet you'll have mastered that in no time!"

"Actually, you with the water reminds me... Want to help me send an Iris Message to Camp Jupiter, let 'em know we're coming?" she asked, fishing out a drachma. "My mom's pretty nice, she'll carry messages for us demigods if she's not too busy. I can make the rainbow, unless you want to give it a try with some water mist?"

Nancy wasn't too surprised that Niah was adamantly opposed to stealing. She had a very black-and-white moral sense from what Nancy could tell - not that there was anything wrong with that. It made sense to her, after thinking on it for a little bit. Niah's mother was the goddess who held everyone to their oath. It made sense that her children would be rule sticklers, just like it made sense that the children of Apollo would be inherently fabulous and skilled at many things (Nancy was, of course, incredibly humble). She respected the boundary though. Niah hadn't questioned her hang ups about Las Vegas, so she wasn't going to tease Niah about her aversion to thievery.

The wind brushed up against her and Nancy shivered, watching as the chimera turned and ran off in the opposite direction. She couldn't help but be a little bit in awe of Madalyne. "That was so rad!" she praised her friend. She offered up a high five. Amtrak Trains didn't really wait around for people to get boarded too long after the posted ticket time, so Nancy shook her head, not wanting to bother hunting down the chimera. Some other demigod would take care of it. She popped onto the train and walked until she found some empty seats with a clear line of sight to the exit, just in case. She took a window seat and sat, waiting for Madalyne and Niah to join her.

Hopefully there weren't any monsters on the train.
