Bonnie Chase

Location: the Triskelion - Hallway -> Hangar -> Quinjet
Skills: Blessing of Athena, Intuition
Bonnie couldn't help but be confused when Niah announced she was going to use the bathroom - and that she called Flynn's attention to it specifically beforehand. A few possibilities whizzed through her mind rapidly as she tried to figure it out. She quickly dismissed the notion that Niah was inviting Flynn to join her in the restroom for some risque activity. Niah wouldn't hurt her like that. She didn't know about Flynn though, not after he yelled at her in the conference room.

Un deux trois quatre cinq six sept huit neuf dix...

The idea that Niah wanted Flynn to know about her bowel movements was equally perplexing. The only things that made sense was that maybe Niah wanted Flynn to go off somewhere so she could shout at him for shouting - but why would Flynn willingly do that? He didn't willingly do much. There was some secret there being kept, that was what Bonnie had to conclude. And then out of the corner of her eye, she saw a barn owl for a split second, only for it to vanish.

"Just try not to get a speeding ticket," she teased Cass gently, as her best friend announced she was going to have to be the taxi driver for the team. While Bonnie didn't doubt that Amelia was a terrific pilot, it was nice having someone she knew and trusted behind the wheel on a mission like this. There was so much tension among people she had known for over a year, it was like seeing the fault lines before an earthquake. In the hangar, she stood next to Cass outside of their quinjet, avoiding making eye contact with Flynn. She could perform an emotional autopsy later - it was too late for surgery she feared.

She then got onto the quinjet and took the seat closest to the pilot's chair, that way she could support Cass however needed. They really needed to get a move on, Captain America probably was going to be long gone by the time they got to his apartment, but maybe Niah would be able to give them some clues as to where he went using her powers. Of course, they could always do old fashioned detective work sans powers if needed.

There was a bathroom on the quinjet for Niah to use. It was towards the back and Bonnie was staring in that direction, watching to see what would happen.

Amelia Baptiste

Location: the Triskelion - Duck Pond
Skills: Aerokinesis
The duck pond wasn't very deep - it was fairly shallow, maybe three feet of water at most. Amelia was grateful for that, as despite her daredevil tendencies, she had never learned how to swim. Water never had much pull for her, her ambitions had always been directed up towards the sky and beyond. Her persistent daydream upon joining S.H.I.E.L.D. was to fly space missions like in Star Wars, weaving in and out in a large battlefield, gunning it and trying to be a leaf on the wind.

She hugged her knees to the chest in the pond, just thinking for a moment. All of the ducks were congregating as far away from her as they could. She had been in some form of military unit for the past decade - and she had just quit S.H.I.E.L.D. She hadn't just refused the mission, no, she had quit. She was free of all obligation and responsibilities. Amelia felt the air currents moving around her, so free and flowing, without a care in the world.

She got up out of the pond and shook her legs a bit, trying to get as much water off as she could. "That's wicked," she gushed as she sent a large blast of air down at her pants, drying them almost instantly. She then started moving towards the hangar, so that way she could get the love of her life, Quimbey, and figure out what she was going to do next.

✨ Rebecca Eventide ✨

Location: Argo III - the Ground
Skills: Necromancy

"Hmm. I'm not quite sure - although there do not appear to be many left, perhaps we are almost done with this task... I would not mind taking a moment to center myself here. The atmosphere of a storm is always quite empowering," Rebecca said. She had gotten back up to her feet, focusing on keeping active control over her skeletal minions. They ranged in time period of origin, but their fighting was largely the same without great variation in skill level. The soldiers killed one of the Anemoi Thuellai and Rebecca sucked up its remnants, getting a bit more fuel for the Argo III. One of the spirits killed her soldier from WWII and Rebecca sharpened her concentration.

"Blessed be, soldier," she said, as a means of thanks. She redirected the remaining trio of undead to avenge their fallen comrade. One of them missed widely, its movements shambling and uneven - yet the other two were victorious, killing the Anemoi Thuellai and Rebecca collected its remnants once more. She wondered what the capacity was for each of these individual packs, if they could accidentally over pressurize them and end up accidentally making a bomb out of pure storms. It was a thrilling possibility.

Her eyes flickered over towards Leda a bit pensively.

🌈 Leda Storm 🌈

Location: Argo III - the Ground
Skills: Agility, Sword Fighting

Leda was living her best life, dodging lightning blows from the venti as it ran around her in a circle. Her eyes moved rapidly, tracking its movements as she tried to make the best dashes from side to side in order to come out unscathed. As a daughter of Iris, the messenger goddess, speed was one of her greatest assets. She was a real life superhero, someone with tangible speed and powers unlike those in comic books who relied on abstract things like the Speed Force. "I've got this!" she reassured Kiera. The battle was almost over anyways. The number of venti left had dwindled to under ten. She thought that she had spotted an opening as she rushed, only for her shoe lace to have apparently come untied, sending the demigoddess sprawling onto the ground as she tripped.

"I really do got this!" Leda reassured Kiera - or perhaps herself. She picked herself up from the ground, minding the untied lace that had caused her to trip, and she darted at the venti again. She swung Ultraviolet, the sword shining a bright orange, and the sword passed through the spirit. The venti fell apart and Leda quickly sucked it up using the contraption, with just a sense of static in the air revealing it had ever been there. She took a moment and bent down, double knotting her laces so that way nothing so embarrassing could happen again.

☀️ Nancy Parker ☀️

Location: New Rome - Coffee Shop
Skills: N/A

"Well it definitely won't work if you have a piss poor attitude about it," Nancy told Marco bluntly. As much as she wanted to leave the Vegas strip behind, she had been a child performer. Most of being a good entertainer was simply projecting confidence and assuring people that she was capable of doing anything she tried. Doubt just invited weakness. "You've got Venus juice running through your veins. I know you can do this. Titan or no Titan." She raised a slight eyebrow at Waverley's innocence and naiveté with regard to all of this, but it was understandable she supposed. Not everyone knew about everything, although at this point Nancy tended to default to the if there are stories about it, it exists line of reasoning. It saved time.

Nancy did a bit of a double take when Madalyne said Leandra's cohort would be represented. There were six of them - Niah mentioned earlier that the other three were all from the Fifth, Niah was from the Second, Madalyne the Third, and Nancy the First. The Fourth Cohort was the only one that wasn't represented in the Quest, but she assumed her co-praetor had just gotten things a bit confused. Or were one of the others actually from the Fourth? She sized them up briefly, trying to determine who was naturally annoying and vain enough to be from that cohort but she couldn't decide.

She made a face when Madalyne said she'd have to ask her out. "Can't two best friends bring lunch for each other? Why does romance have to be the only route to free food in this time period?" she groaned. "And right on. I'd rather wrestle a chimera than date someone. Anyways, we can check in with the Senate when they reconvene later today. Shouldn't be any problems with it, unless Leandra decides to run her mouth, but I'm aching to scream in her face and go all Black Canary on her."

Location: Atrium -> Galley
Skills: N/A
Raynor hurried after Zarina - not at a run or anything mind you, more of a concerned stroll. His face didn't show any indication of surprise as she accused Cal of being a drug dealer - or when he took in the fact that apparently Luke had almost died when they were gone. He snorted a little bit at the thought that Luke wasn't stronger than a tiny girl. However, he sensed it wasn't the time to point that out to Luke and open an examination of his masculinity.

Vinnie had a smug sense of satisfaction as Zarina basically confirmed that Cal was bad news. Drug dealers broke the law and caused horrible addictions that ruined families. She didn't know how Cal knew that she took adderal with this information - Vinnie figured it could also have been a lie, since she was fairly certain she was neurotypical. "Ha, I knew it! Vinnie one, Cal zip. There's no court here so we skip right to the imprisonment phase!" She didn't trust Cal and she double didn't trust her now, knowing that she was a criminal. What was to stop Cal from betraying them or selling them out? "... Or I guess community service, since apparently we're cool with working with people who we know aren't trustworthy and could potentially be working for Them. I bet she could have even cut a deal or something! That's what drug dealers do right? They cut things? Isn't that how it is... like you cut a key of coke, right? Am I using that word right?"

"Great, so we can take a dump without Them listening to us," Raynor commented roughly. He doubted they could hold meetings inside of bathrooms to discuss this situation - and if They were listening in on them discuss this right now, They knew to bug the bathrooms. He moved with the others back to the galley, raising a slight eyebrow as Cal filled him in on everything he had just seen. "If you add a shot of rum, I'll take it," he said to Tessa.

Vinnie moved back with the others to the galley as well. "Wait, so for those who have their memories working, what's the last thing you remember? Was their a blinding light in the sky like in Marvel movies? Did ET phone home? What was the date? Did you get some sort of notice from the government that we had been sold to Them? Do you know what They look like - like were They behind the entire Area 51 UFO alien bodies thing? Or Roswell?"

🌈 Leda Storm 🌈

Location: Houston, Texas
Skills: Superspeed, Agility, Sword-Fighting

Leda couldn't believe at first that her bluff worked - but apparently, Zeke irritated Marysas so much he forgot about it all. Or maybe he hadn't noticed her go free Calliope in the first place. Either way, she thanked her lucky stars. The fighting started soon afterwards, with Kristin stabbing a cyclops and Calliope using her powers over music. Leda remembered with a bit of a jolt that Calliope was a goddess after all - she had a serious amount of power behind her and no doubt would make this a lot easier.

"How about Marshmallow, if Mars isn't your speed?" With Ultraviolet ready to go, Leda took off as fast as she could run. She weaved in and out of the line of monsters, skewering them with her sword and watching them turn into dust. She killed monster after monster, until eight of them were dead and taken care of. With Calliope's six and Kristin's one, that was fifteen in total that they'd taken out - not bad. And Zeke had managed to trip during dancing.

☀️ Nancy Parker ☀️

Location: Junk Yard - Fargo, North Dakota
Skills: N/A

Nancy took a bow as Niah exclaimed that the idea could actually work. "I'm a genius, a champion of Minerva in the making," she bragged. "All the gods look at me and go how very!" She wasn't exactly a humble person - nor a subtle one. She was incredibly excited that her idea was a viable one. She helped Madalyne to move their Up!Mobile outside, hoping that the winds would be favorable. She wondered if they would attract any sort of flying monsters - and that was a bit thrilling, more exciting than terrifying. She loved fighting and killing monsters. It was a great outlet for aggression.

Once outside, Nancy went about inspecting Madalyne's knots. She wasn't the best at knot work herself, but she gave the ropes an experimental tug and found that the knots were loose. Nancy untied them and then did her best to retie them tightly, giving them a good tug to make sure that they weren't about to come loose and send them all falling out from the sky. "There, should be good to go, if you wouldn't mind giving the knots a third check, Niah?"

Guin Stark

Location: Xavier's Institute - the Garden
Skills: N/A
Guin rolled her eyes as Elizabeth dismissed the heat. "One, why would I want to go to Texas? It's one of the anti-mutant hotspots in the United States. And two, it's always going to be hotter somewhere, so I don't really care if this isn't hot by Texas standards?" she said a bit bluntly. She never liked the entire oh X isn't bad, you should see Y! It basically just invalidated people's experiences. It was like saying you can't be sad, someone else out there has it worse than you. If Guin felt like it was hot, then it was hot - period. She wasn't going to write a scientific article about how hot it was, so she didn't need to slap a qualifier on there.

Bethany then blipped in out of nowhere and Guin blinked a bit. That was a bit hard to get used to. Her skin paled slightly though as Beth explained her sudden appearance - Loki. Scenes from the news footage of the Battle of New York flashed through her mind. Her father had gone up through a wormhole and he almost hadn't made it out the other side - he almost died. That had been a little over nine years ago - she had just been a little kid, but the scar of almost losing her father had contributed greatly to her teen angst and drug abuse. "The son of a bitch is here for me," Guin explained. "He's taking revenge on my dad for the Battle of New York. What a fucking ass... But whatever. If there's one thing I know about that bastard, it's that the L in Loki is for Loser."

Neil Spellman

Location: Xavier's Institute - Neil's Room
Skills: N/A
Neil laughed slightly at Carolina's offer. He wasn't a super uptight, optimistic, positive, and idealistic person - the sort that would have gasped and protested at that thought. No, if Neil's heart still wasn't tender towards Sara, he probably would have asked Carolina if her sister also doubled as an assassin in her spare time. "That sounds nice," he told her. "But I feel like your sister probably wouldn't lock her up there... which sucks." Though it wasn't like he saw Sara around now anyways, so he could very well just imagine Sara was locked up at the Raft. He tilted his head slightly as Carolina mentioned her girlfriend.

"Y-you have a girlfriend?" he asked, his heart wincing - it was hard to see people in love and in relationships at the moment for him. "Th-that's cool. I didn't know. Umm... Sure. I found one online that I printed off, but I could use help drawing out maps and character images for it... I think it's more fun that way if they're hand drawn and real looking..." He didn't really know if that was something Carolina would be interested in doing. Some people just used a battle map and called it good, but Neil loved being able to draw the scenery or little snapshots of the places they were at - pictures were worth more than a thousand words.

Runa Johansson

Location: Hotel Valhalla - Floor 472
Skills: Wicca, Perception

Once Loki introduced himself, everything clicked into place. He was another one of the Norse gods, the god of mischief. She remembered vaguely stories about him cutting off Sif's hair or convincing Thor to wear drag to regain his hammer. He pretty much was connected to everything that went wrong for the Norse gods and every fiber of her being was telling her that she couldn't trust him. His image was flickering, giving her some comfort that he wasn't actually there - it was just an illusion, a trick. She took a breath, thinking over her words carefully before responding. It helped that she was rather quiet and introverted, already a person who took her time before speaking.

"My father's a nobody," she said softly. "And even if he were... a god... I don't owe him anything." She paused, locking eyes with the god. She wanted to run back into the elevator and press another button. She wanted to get away from Loki, but she couldn't. He knew something about where Balder was - and maybe if she could rescue Balder, she could stop the end of the world from happening. She could absolve herself of that spiritual debt. "So I don't have any reason to make a deal with you... Loki. You'll have to find someone else to barter with." She didn't know what she was going to ask him for if he offered her a better deal - but she hoped that he might slip up slightly and give her another clue by accident.

Bonnie Chase & Amelia Baptiste

Location: the Triskelion - Conference Room
Skills: Aerokinesis
Cass placing a hand on Bonnie's shoulder instantly helped her to ground herself, stopping the avalanche of uncertainty and panic. She needed to focus on her work, not her emotional traumas and the ripples she still felt from James' death. Maybe whatever had happened to her back in February had increased her inner discipline and concentration. She had been so busy with the M-Pox project and then catching up on other projects that she hadn't managed to conclusively diagnose herself beyond having received abilities similar to what those with a super-soldier serum would have gained.

"You can count on us, Director Hill." Bonnie got up from her seat, mentally running through everything she knew about Rogers. He was the type to sacrifice himself for the betterment of others. His moral strength could be exploited as a weakness. She didn't want to endanger innocent lives in some sort of mad gamble, she wasn't a psychopath, but maybe they could play some mind games with Rogers if they had to subdue him... Maybe Sparky would be willing to make some more Life Model Decoys to be innocent bystanders endangered by a brawl between S.H.I.E.L.D. and Rogers.

"I hope so - we need a win," Hill replied.

Amelia was incredibly uncomfortable still with all of this. She imagined that Cass needed her to fly a jet quickly to get to Captain America's place - or to follow him from the sky. If she refused, they'd just find another pilot and Steve Rogers would be in chains by the end of the day. She wasn't usually an underhanded person - she liked to be bold and direct, sneaking around and conspiring just wasn't her style. In fact, it wasn't like her at all - she was impulsive and spunky, a thrill junky, a daredevil. She wasn't the sort of person to pretend to go along with something and change her mind.

"Y'know, everyone here is acting like a bunch of bogans, so I think I'm gonna bail. There's a buckleys chance you're right, but I'd bet on Cap still. Don't go crook on me for this, but... I quit. Seeya!" She went to rush over to the shattered window, tripping over one of the chairs in the process and landing sprawled on the floor on all fours. "I meant to do that." She then tried to do a flip, only it was a bit clumsy and uncoordinated, so she more looked like a flightless bird as Amelia fell through the opening and began to plummet down to the ground.

"AAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" Amelia screamed - not out of fear, but sheer delight. The wind was zipping by her ears creating a gigantic whoosh of sound as she fell. She went spread eagle as to slow her fall, feeling the currents of the air around her. Once she was about twenty feet above the ground, she manipulated the air and pushed up, rapidly changing direction. She soared higher and higher until her momentum gave out and she was weightless for a moment, before going back into free fall.

She landed in a pond in front of the Triskelion, upsetting a family of ducklings. The mother duck hissed at her. "Oh, rack off."

Back up in the conference room, Bonnie struck her face with her palm. She sighed a bit before rushing out into the hallway, catching up with Cass and the other new agent. "Baptiste just defected. We're down a pilot. Again... She yeeted herself out the window."

February 16th, 2021 - 5:30 PM

George Washington University: Way Up in the Sky...

Polaris narrowed her eyes at Sapphire. "You're the girl in love with my boyfriend - Sapphire, right?" she questioned. "I'll deal with you in a minute." She turned her attention to Waverley, listening to what she had to say patiently. As much as Polaris visibly looked like a villain at the moment, she hadn't actually made a move to attack her. She sighed like a disappointed teacher at Waverley's childish ideals, as well as her supposed flaws in the system that the Hellfire Club already had plans in store for. Her eyes widened a bit as Waverley then jumped from the car.

Kristina flew after Waverley, but she got the timings wrong and couldn't catch Waverley, their fingers just barely grazing each other as Waverley continued her rapid descent towards the Earth. Sapphire made a quick and rickety ice slide for Waverley. Waverley hit the slide badly, on her right arm to be exact, breaking her arm on impact - yet otherwise, it was a success, the slide bringing her down to solid ground.

"Right, anyways, like I was saying... HOW FUCKING DARE YOU SLEEP WITH MY GODDAMN BOYFRIEND, YOU BITCH!" she yelled. There wasn't anyone in the car to worry about keeping alive, so Polaris swung the car like a bat at Sapphire. She missed on the first pass but continued on through, before knocking the Disney Princess lookalike off of the narrow ice platform and sending Sapphire plummeting down to the Earth. Polaris let Sapphire fall, ripping the car in half down the middle so that way she essentially had two really big sticks - and then the Mistress of Magnetism flew down in pursuit.

Veil

Location: George Washington University: the Street
Skills: Invisible Energy Manipulation
Veil's heart was a thunderstorm of pure nervous energy. She had tried to do something new to help Echo get on up there to Feedback, but it had almost killed her brother in the process, if Supergirl hadn't been there she would have had to plan a funeral. Feedback had almost died from falling from the sky as well, but it looked like Sapphire had saved her with an ice ramp. Cayden had already died - so much had happened she hadn't even been able to properly process that. Her heart could hardly take it as she saw her best friend falling now, with Polaris in pursuit.

"This isn't Lorna - it's Mesmero or Mastermind or someone!" Havok begged.

"Havok, get your shit together or go take cover," Veil snapped at him. She didn't mean to sound so aggressive with it - she knew he was going through a lot, but Sapphire was falling from dozens of feet up in the air and they didn't have time to theorize about who was responsible for Polaris' behavior.

Veil took a deep breath and backed up a couple of paces. She then took off at a sprint, jumping onto a force field platform she had made. She launched herself up from platform to platform, steadily climbing in height. One bad jump however and she would be yet another mutant in need of saving from gravity. She was gaining height quickly and she reached her hands out, hoping Sapphire could grab on and she could get them down together.

The ground shook however as their bad luck increased - two sentinels that were like mini skyscrapers, each of them easily 50 feet tall. On their shoulders were an American flag emblem and the S.H.I.E.L.D. logo, identifying them as official government property. Waverley had been right earlier - more qualified backup was on the way.

"STAND DOWN OR WE WILL USE DEADLY FORCE!" a voice boomed, amplified from the sentinels. "YOU ARE UNDER ARREST FOR DESTRUCTION OF PUBLIC PROPERTY, CAUSING TERROR AND UNREST, AND USE OF DANGEROUS FORCE!"

Sunshine & Casper

Location: Mutant Friendly Clinic - Parking Lot
Skills: Mediumship
In their midst was an intangible and unseeable omen - a being without a soul. He might have easily been mistaken as Ares by the Greeks, his face dripping with red and horns curling up out of his hair. His great axe dwarfed Max. Magik stared directly at Lord Belasco of the Corrupted, Master of Worlds Within Worlds.

"It's time, Darkchylde." His voice was like a symphony of nails on a chalkboard in the midst of a Black Mass, like the bones of a murdered child being ground in a blender.

"Holy shit, holy shit, holy shit!" Casper screamed, starting to hyperventilate. His sixth sense was telling him that the specter in front of them wasn't actually a ghost. It was something dark and malevolent, creating an unnatural heat. The snow all around them was melting rapidly, as if the water molecules were attempting to escape. "C-Can anyone else see this Darth Maul rip off? I'm going to pass out. I'm going to die. Damn it why did I go sober I need drugs this is way too much!" Casper rambled. He was shaking visibly, likely from fear, and he couldn't help but cry as well. He was lucky he hadn't wet his pants.

Magik's body fell to the ground, succumbing to the ravages of M-Pox. Her spirit remained there, with glowing eyes, a twisted tail, and horns. The ghost of Magik turned to Casper. "Tell Piotr this is forever." Casper couldn't help himself this time as Belasco and Magik melted away, a pentagram burned into the ground where Magik's body had fallen - one that everyone could see. He peed his pants out of fear and terror - and partially because he hadn't gone to the bathroom before they left for the clinic. "O-o-o-oh god," Casper wailed, stumbling into the van and falling to the ground on the pavement.

"Magik!!!" Sunshine screamed - no, it was more like the dying roar of a lion, desperate, afraid, and alone. She rushed over to Magik and knelt down next to her, cradling her body in her arms. She was already crying as she rocked Magik back and forth, pleading with her to stop this game, that it wasn't a funny trick and she really couldn't keep on pretending to die, three times was already three too many. She put her hands on Illyana's face and tried to do something she never had done before - to heal her, rather than give her a disease, but nothing happened. Sunshine hardly registered as James came over and tried to revive Illyana.

"This is forever," Capser mumbled. "Th-that's what she said... Sh-sh-she had horns and a-a tail and th-this scary guy with w-w-w-way too much red body paint on, like some sort of Kool-Aid Man mega fan, he t-t-took her!"

"LIAR!!!!" Sunshine screeched. She couldn't feel her hands, she was barely aware as she kept on brushing the hair from Magik's face. She didn't know how to perform CPR, but Sunshine shoved James out of the way and tried to do mouth to mouth. Nothing worked. Nothing could make Illyana's heart start beating. Sunshine's first love had died. "Apollo, save her, please," Sunshine begged, looking up at the sky. "Thanatos, take me with her!!!"

Not even her gods listened.

Magik was right.

This was forever.

Megan Pendragon

Location: Trails
Skills: Fencing and Self Defense

There was one issue with a rapier - it was a close range weapon. Attacking Maleficent would mean leaving the protective area that Merlin had set up. Her brother had argued some about the pepper spray, but clearly he was alright with it since he kept it. Merlin didn't look like he was in any shape to open up a portal, his magic must have been draining him. They needed to buy him some time and Megan quickly looked around, spotting an area towards the back that was untouched by the flames. "I'll create a diversion - and a corpse if I'm lucky," she told her brother and the others.

Megan rushed out the back and went around, careful not to be kissed by the flames. She liked having vampire pale skin. It unnerved normal people. She came face to face with Maleficent and Megan swiped at her with her rapier, connecting with the witch and breaking her concentration, as the flames died down slightly. She thought on her feet as Megan then kicked dirt up into Maleficent's face, intending to blind her and keep her from being able to cast magic against Merlin and the others.
