"Hey! No tasting until the contest's done!" Nero angrily called out from his station. "Hahaha! I'm just messing with you. But seriously though, let's not be unfair to the rest of the audience and let's try all of these at the same time. Alright?"

A few moments later, the time was up. The dishes prepared by the contestants was laid out across a long table atop a white cloth. The host said that it was up to the audience who will decide who the winner was. What followed was a small feast of everyone tasting a serving from each of the dishes. The contestants were allowed to taste too as well.

"I heard you call these 'noodles', blondie." Nero took a serving of Yang's ramen. "And they taste hella good. I'm definitely voting for you if I could. Hahaha!"

Once everyone has had a sample from each of the dishes, the voting commenced. While everyone remarked that all of the dishes were amazing, they almost unanimously decided that it was Yang's dish that was the tastiest. A cheer was made for the monk's victory and no one contested the decision.

Except one. "You cheated, you monk!" The Ushi-Oni exclaimed. "You won because no one here has tried ramen before! They liked your dish because it was new and exotic!" She accused.

"Your dish's pretty exotic too, you know? What's sushi anyway?" Nero interjected.

"Yeah, well, hers is exotic-er." The Ushi-Oni retorted. "Regardless, she has cheated and I will bring her to justice!" She declared before leaping high into the air and landing in front of Yang. The ferocious Ushi-Oni was ready to tear the blonde monk to pieces.

Or probably just beat her up silly. Regardless, Yang had a duel in her hands.

"Ian came for job before, tell Ditzy who's the member of guild!"
Ditzy Stoneclub

"What guild?" The host Ian replied.

Something that he instantly regretted when the newcomer Ian as well as everyone else looked at him for that remark. The jig was up but you had the host Ian in your firm grip. But he had a trick up his sleeve, the host Ian drew a small wood ball with his free hand. He then hurled it to the ground which blew up into a thick, concealing smoke.

The sudden explosion released your hold on the fake Ian and he was able to get away. "Ha! You'll never catch me, you little weirdo Hobgoblin! Not when I shift into maximum overdrive!" You see the figure of the false Ian dart further into the artificial fog and out of your sight. He has escaped.

Yet when the smoke cleared, a fortunate sight was before you. You saw the Minotaur and the Jinko both holding fake Ian, grabbing him by his limbs. Now he truly has no chance of escape.

"Hey, Hobgoblin! You're the one that blew the lid off this guy." The Minotaur said. "I think you should be the one that decides what to do with him."

"Come on, guys! It was just a fun little joke! I totally wasn't going to start charging people to prove their strength and exploit their prides." The false Ian tried to weasel his way out.

"Maybe we should try increasing the difficulty a little?"
Freyr

"Well, obviously. I'm asking if you know a way to make to make it difficult." Sir Reed replied. A bit disappointed at your answer. "I think they were talking about having moving targets. What do you think about that? Although, I'm not sure how they will manage that."

"And regarding Haley... Well... She did came here to watch me and I don't think she was expecting the archery competition to take this long so she might be a bit bored... If you could call her for me, I would be grateful. Tell her that she doesn't need to stay here if she doesn't want to..."
Freyr

"You can shoot at targets leagues away but you cannot see the feelings inside the heart of a fair maiden? Hahaha!" Sir Reed teased you once again. "Did she not say she was not here for the competition but for you? Or are you suggesting that was but a teasing lie? Nothing but natural tendencies for monsters to flirt?"

"But seriously and out of genuine curiosity, is there something actually between the two of you?" Sir Reed asked. "As you know, I'm new so I may be seeing things that aren't actually there or more complicated than it appears. Erm, you don't have to answer if you don't want to. I respect privacy."

"How about you Miss Kikimora?"
Ozzy Skyway

"Oh, I'm definitely fine with that. Although, I'm not sure if I could fully appreciate having a male monster for an entire day. I suppose I'll just make do with an innocent date. We also get the money from the other contestants, right?" The Kikimora replied.

"It's settled then! Let the contest begin!" Riñas declared, ignoring the bird-maid monster.

The contestants got to their positions and the small audience took to their seats. At least it has increased a little. Riñas had a wood cone to amplify her voice. She stood beside the main stage with a chair stool and a small pail containing pieces of paper sitting on it. "I will be pulling questions from this little ol' bucket. The contestant who raises his or her hand first and answers the question correctly wins one point! Whoever has the most points after ten questions wins this contest!"

The audience replied with an applause and Riñas pulled out the first question. "Get ready, contestants! The first question is: Do monsters produce Spirit Energy?"

The answer was easy and obvious to those knowledgeable in the nature of the world. The Owl Mage was the quickest to raise her arm, but hesitated. The other two monsters noticed and soon realized why. All three of them looked to you. Now that you existed, can monsters produce Spirit Energy now?

"Traveling between worlds just sounds downright dangerous, and the more desperate you are, the more likely you'll choose a dangerous option, so we'll take it upon ourselves to help you in any way we can to ensure that if you do find a way home, that it is a safe choice."
Vivian Altissima

"Th-that's right! You don't have to do this alone. And I'm curious to learn about the different worlds and how to travel between them."
Sylvia Altissima

Neil smiled brightly at the sisters' reply. "Thanks, you two. I've been trying to find help in this endeavor of mine so I'm glad you two offered. If there's anything I can do for you two... although, please don't expect too much. I'm not exactly... not exactly a man of talents. B-But I'll do my best, I guarantee you that."

"Well, our break's almost over. Time to get going and back into the fray." Neil rose from his seat. "Ah, I know. Once we're done helping and after I've asked Riñas about the other-dimensions thing, why don't we... wander around a bit? See what else the festival offers. Maybe grab a bite or two. It'll be like a date."

After mentioning 'date', he quickly blushed. "Uhh, by 'date' I mean... well, not that kind of 'date' but, uhh..." Looks like he needs saving from the tangle he himself created.
Hey guys, try as I may but I'm afraid I must further delay the update again. However, I guarantee I'm working on it and it'll come sometime this week.

Real sorry again, my dudes.
Skies of Kazimierz

Dragonheart and Will-O-Wisp were Operators of the Haynek Institure of Research and aboard the VTOL desginated Raven Three. They were part of an investigation of the strange presence of Originium in a remote village in Kazimierz called Riventor. There were three teams on the operation and they were part of one. Originally, there was only supposed to be one team that did not include either of them but a last minute change by Mr. Haynek himself saw the addition of two more teams.

They departed from the institute's mobile base once it reached Kazimierz. The base would soon move away, however, since there was business elsewhere. Fortunately, the VTOLs would keep close by. Once they have delivered the teams, they would refit and refuel at a nearby Kazimierz city and wait there until the teams request extraction.

But things quickly went off plan, a sudden and freak storm hit the three VTOLs. Communications with the other VTOLs were cut off as the raging winds hammered the VTOL. "It's following us!" The pilot cried. Not a moment after, something struck the aircraft's hull. A large shard of Originium invaded the cabin and practically destroyed one of the rotors. Dragonheart and Will-O-Wisp's leader, an old Kuranta woman with blue hair, ordered an evacuation. Parachutes were issued to the team and Dragonheart and Will-O-Wisp were the first to go.

They never saw anyone else jump out of the aircraft.

Old Woods

The two landed into the thick woods that surround Riventor. Breaking through the canopy, their parachutes were caught in the branches but it was easy to cut loose and land safely to the forest floor. Upon getting their bearings, they would soon notice that most of the trees of this forest were dead. It was only through their sheer numbers and thick branches that they block out the sunlight. In fact, there were so many trees that they felt like walls. It was almost suffocating.

Dragonheart and Will-O-Wisp were alone. It was up to them what to do next.
@Lunarlord34

Your character has been accepted. I'll probably write you and @Kuroakuma a mini-update to get y'all into the action.

Jarde thought it was him and Sir Fleuri alone against the hooded man and his goons. Fortunately, another Iron Rose joined the fray. Sir Nicomede arrived and began helping Jarde deal with the mercenaries. Now that the tide has turned, Jarde's morale was raised and doubled his efforts at routing the mercenaries so they could help Sir Fleuri.

Fortunately, the enemy was losing heart at seeing so many of them fallen and the three Iron Roses still alive and well. They were fearful of fighting any further and on the verge of running away. Sir Nicomede made his way towards Sir Fleuri who dueled the hooded man.

While the mercenary enemies were easy to deal with, Jarde saw that the hooded fought Fleuri with unparalleled speed. He was fast, even faster than Jarde who prided himself with his agility. He was almost like a blur. Who could move that fast? But then something more surprising happened. Sir Fleuri's next strike was not evaded or blocked, the hooded man caught the blade on his mouth.

The hood fell off, revealing a handsome face with black hair and crimson eyes. His teeth were more than that, they were fangs.

"Allow me to introduce myself, I... am Damon Cal."
Damon Cal

Damon let go of Fleuri's claymore and allowed the Iron Roses to behold him. "Uhh, we have a vampire here." Jarde pointed out the obvious to his two allies. "Uhh, what do we do?" He was getting a little worried. If Damon could move that fast then Jarde would be at a clear disadvantage. Fortunately, he was with two knights who likely knew how to deal with vampires and had powers of their own.

The Journey Begins

"My, my, if I didn't know any better I'd almost think you were accusing me for killing you."
The Goddess

"Wait. Did you--"

A plunge into the water. Sinking deeper and deeper. There was no breathing in this place. But in this place, there was no need for breathing. Still, the one named Nicholas Gallagher was dragged into the void of this otherworldly ocean.

The sinking soon stopped but that was of little comfort. Nick was floating in what might as well be in the emptiness of space. There he floated with only himself and his thoughts. How long was he there for? A day? A month? A year? Or maybe just minutes or hours have passed. The nothingness of this place disorienting his sense of time.

But then something happened. He began to rise. Back to the surface, Nick first assumed but then doubted. He was rising faster now and a dim light appeared to break the void's darkness. He continued to rise until he hit the surface. Or perhaps a barrier? Nick was only given a second to ponder before it broke like glass.

Nick stumbled out, coughing out water that was not there. He looked back and saw a pod, one that looked like those rescue pods from sci-fi films. Was he there the entire time? How was he placed there? How did he come this place? Probably the same way he cheated death by being reincarnated into another world, he figured.

He left his thoughts with the pod and looked around the place he was in. Suddenly, a deep anxiousness or uneasiness fell upon him. Or perhaps it was fear. Whatever it was, Nick sensed he should not be there. Was this the power granted to him by the Goddess? It was uncomfortable but he supposed it was like pain. An unpleasant yet extremely useful feeling.

The room he was in was plain and nondescript save for a window on one side and a door that presumably lead deeper into... wherever or whatever this place was.

The sense of dread was still there. He should not linger here but Nick decided to check the window first to get a glimpse of an idea of where or what this place was. What he saw beyond the window was a little worrying. It appeared to be a prison cell judging from the iron chains hanging from the wall and shackles.

Inside were two people, one woman and one man, and a couple of pods. Pods identical to Nick's. Were they reincarnated people too? "H-Hey!" Nick called out to them. "You guys all right in there?"

After Rex responded to Zasada, a sudden and hard rumble rocked the plane. It jolted Wu awake and caught the attention of Ibon. It would have launched Blizzard into the air had she not grabbed a safety handle in time. "Pilots! What the hell was that?!" She angrily but worriedly demanded.

The radioes crackled on in response. "We've flown into the turbulent weather, it seems. But we ascended, didn't we?"

The VTOL made another hard rock and Ibon was thrown from her seat. "Everyone! Get to your seats and buckle up!" Blizzard ordered as she did the same.

The aircraft continued to shake and rumble, and then there was the grumble of thunder. "It's a freaking storm out here!"

"All Ravens! Descend to five-thousand feet!"

As soon as the order was given, the VTOL sharply dove down. Inertia made the sudden descent uncomfortable but fortunately, the team was fastened to their seats with its belts. It took several tense moments but soon enough, the VTOL stabilized... but then there was another rock and now, the boom of thunder. "What the hell?! It's still here!" The pilots were now panicking.

"It's following us!"

*CRASH*

The sound of glass shattering made it clear that the situation has become worse. Perhaps to a point of no return. Fast winds blew into the VTOL's cabin as it began sharply descending again. "Pilots! Report!" Blizzard repeated for a couple of times but there was no response at all. The Vulpo leader unbuckled and rose from her seat. She fought her way towards the cockpit against the mighty winds and the aircraft's quakes. "What the?! Damn it!" She could be heard cursing.

The radioes crackled for one last transmission. "Mayday, mayday! This Raven One, we are losing altitude! Mayday-- BRACE FOR IMPACT!"

Clear Meadow

Zasada and Rex awaken with a concerned face looking over them. "Oh, thank God! You're awake! Wu, they're awake! Rex and Zasada."

Somehow, the team emerged mostly unscathed despite the crash landing of their aircraft, only getting briefly knocked unconscious. Wu and Ibon were the first to awaken and had quickly pulled the rest of their team out of the wreckage. The Liberi Medic checked up on them but fortunately found no serious injuries in any of the team members. Just minor concussions from the rough descent.

"Blizzard had apparently pulled the VTOL up so that it would crash horizontally rather than vertically. Unfortunately, she and Longgui are still knocked out." Wu explained to the newly-awoken Zasada and Rex, motioning at the unconscious Vulpo and the Lung-Pram lying in the grass with Ibon by their sides. "As for the pilots... I've never seen anything like it. You're welcome to take a look if you want but I'm warning you, it's pretty disturbing."

Should Zasada or Rex or both take a look at the cockpit, they would find the corpses of the pilots still on their seats. They had long, thin rods of Originium pierced into their helmets and heads. Looking at the windshield, they would see distinct holes punched through it. It appeared the Originium rods shot through the glass and into the pilots' heads. Did the weird storm do this in some freak coincidence or was it something else at work?

"Blizzard doesn't look like she's waking up anytime soon and we need a plan of action." Wu addressed the remaining team members. "The radioes aren't working and even if they did, I don't think they'll reach the Institute mobile base. We need a long-range radio. Working long-range radio." The Lungmen Feline then gazed to the forest ahead of them. "We also can't stay here. I bet Riventor's not far from here. We can ask for help there. But that means we'll have to carry these two."

"What do you guys think?"
