"W-Wait--!" The boy stammered but Kerry was already gone. With his jaw still open, he turned to Relica. "I-I had no idea the two of you were together." He jumped to the conclusion.
"How long have you two been together? Where did you two meet?" The boy started questions, powering through the pain just to know these juicy details. "How will you two have children? Err, sorry. I haven't even asked if you two are interested in children."
It was a good thing neither the monk nor the mother were here to hear all of this, and only Eula and the boy. Otherwise, the 'news' may spread faster than either Relica and Kerry could explain.
Walking to the nearest house and inquiring, the sliding doors opened and Kerry was met with a boy younger than their patient wearing a yellow kimono top. The boy gasped at the sight of the Hornet and was speechless for a moment before an older voiced called from the inside. "Jin! Who is it?"
"It's a-- it's a yokai, father." The boy named Jin replied. "I-I don't know what she wants..."
"I know the monk says good things about them, but we should still be wary." The father declared. "Just tell her to go away."
"I-I'm sorry, madam yokai." The young Jin bowed. "But I'm afraid we can't help with whatever you need."
Kazenosuke watched his taskforce opponent closely. His brow raised when Shizuka disappeared into three images of himself. The dancing swordsman was sure his technique could parry all three attacks, and that was assuming all three attacks were real. However, the plan changed when he saw Io cast a spell beam aimed at him.
Trusting his instincts, Kazenosuke stopped spinning his blade and brought his scabbard up to block the beam. His scabbard froze instantly and the sudden drop in temperature made him drop it, shattering into a thousand pieces upon hitting the ground. But this left him open and all three images of the azure swordsman descended upon him, where all three strikes hit. Kazenosuke tried to block, but it was late and futile.
The dancing swordsman reeled, blood dripping on his clothes. He stumbled to his abode, his back against the wall. "You... You think this is over?" He muttered before raising his sword but not doing the signature spin. "I'm still standing, don't you see?"
Alice arrived at Fukami Port, searching for a vessel that would take her to Hama Island. Her tall physique and the arm infested with a Cursed Sword made it clear that she was no human, making the villagers hide in their homes at her arrival. Quite unfortunate, until a male voice called out to her.
"Sorry, the people here are pretty suspicious of foreigners. Especially when an entire fleet of foreigners are besieging their island home." The man explained. "Still, they're good people and I'm sure they'll help out a good ol' taskforce member repel these dastardly Varjans." He continued with exaggerated arm movements to help convince Alice.
"So, what do you need? Just let your Ian onii-chan know."
Alice was seen heading out pretty quickly wearing a peasant's dress. To where, no one knew. Presumably she was on her way to fulfill another request.
"I believe Takeshi-san and Kikyo-san were discussing something in private."
"Oh, I see." Ayu replied, but took notice of Atsuha's downtrodden expression and just noticed the unconscious Hinami. "Oh gods, what happened to Madam Hinami?!" She exclaimed. "Does she need help?! I have medicinal herbs--"
"She started attacking indiscrimately while she was rescuing me and Takeshi from Shizuyaman traitors." Yurine came back after hearing Ayu's loud voice. "Her spider sister came to me specifically to see if I can help with her berserker rage. All I can do for her is put her in a relaxed state where her madness can be dealt inside her head."
"Ohhh! Thank you very much, Lady Yurine!" Ayu bowed.
"The fighting and the walking has take a toll on these old bones." Yurine told Atsuha. "But I have the necessary ingredients so we can begin immediately if it is urgent."

They think that those who betray the traditions deserve punishment, even for people like Takeshi. Especially for people like Takeshi." The old warrior explained. "Normally, this is not a problem. But we are not in any sort of normalcy here."

I... suppose I can't fault them for thinking that." But the young lord remained resolute. "However, attacking me is a line they should never have crossed. They deserved what happened to them here."
"Milord!" Kikyo arrived with her horse, very much late to the party. "Are you alright?!"
Takeshi, however, looked at her with disappointment. "I'm quite alright, Kikyo. But I was attacked... by your men."
"I found them acting suspicious earlier, so I warned the yokai taskforce. Looks like they were successful in saving you." Kikyo explained before disembarking her steed. "My lord, I am very sorry..." She kneeled and bowed her head in front of Takeshi.
"Get up, Kikyo." Takeshi ordered before looking to Yurine and the taskforce. "Yurine, take the taskforce and head for Terauchi Temple. I want to have a word with Kikyo alone. Everyone, you all have my gratitude for saving me again. You may have your eccentricities, but know that I appreciate the help you continue to give me and the island." The young lord then bowed.
"Milord, will you two be alright?" Yurine asked to which Takeshi nodded. "Very well. Let's go, everyone."
With everyone in agreement, Eula accompanied the group towards the diseased camp. They quickly resumed their walk, leaving behind the fallen Varjan patrol who were now missing armor pieces in their outfit.

That is, until... "Healer! Healer!" A villager woman came running to the group. "Thank goodness, you're here!"
"Mika? What is it?"
"It's my son." The woman replied. "I think he ate something poisonous."
"Take me to him." The monk immediately declared before turning to his taskforce escort. "I know we are on an urgent business, but I cannot ignore this. Forgive me." The monk bowed before following the woman to her house with the taskforce having no choice but to go with.
As they got closer to Mika's house, pained grunts could be heard coming from the abode. Entering, Mika showed the healer and the taskforce her son: An average but cute boy in his teenage years. Although, his pained face while lying on a straw mat clutching his stomach marred what looks he had. "What did he eat?" The monk immediately asked as he began inspecting the boy.
"Just some mushrooms we picked earlier." Mika answered. "We have had no food for a day now and we thought they were safe."
The monk nodded his head. "Can you show me where you found the mushrooms?" Mika responded with an 'Of course' and the monk turned to his escort. "I will join Mika to find the mushrooms. The monk and the mother then took off, with the latter asking if her son would be alright with the yokai with monk assuring her.

And so, the taskforce was left with the ailing boy. "Uuughhhh..." He groaned in his mat. "How embarrassing... And I was supposed to confess to her tomorrow." The boy groaned again, probably both from the pain and the inconvenience. "We shared our food with her family a few days ago. We... might have overdid it..."
"Hey, yokai. The healer always said you people were very good at things like love..." The boy started. "Do you know how to confess to someone without looking like a loser who got sick?"
Shizuka aimed to parry the spinning blade but once his sword touched Kazenosuke's, the opposite happened. The azure swordsman, himself, was parried and Kazenosuke spun, slashing Shizuka in the arm. Swift like the wind, the dancing swordsman managed to add three more slashes at the flinched Shizuka and drew blood from the taskforce leader.
But the dancing swordsman did not need to add the three additional slashes, and Kazenosuke paid for it by noticing too late the incoming Yuki. The oni managed to hit Kazenosuke's rib with her claws, shredding cloth. Kazenosuke retaliated with a heavy slash that Yuki could easily dodge, but then followed it up with a strong thrust to the belly with his scabbard, doing little but sending the oni stumbling back next to Shizuka.
Kazenosuke began spinning his blade again, his ultimate shield. An ironic use of his weapon.
The rest of this particular taskforce group arrived shortly after Alice did, but the Mad Hatter had already gone to rest somewhere in the temple grounds. Other than that, the temple remained the same as ever.
"I'm disappointed that the temple was actually the headquarters of yokai sympathizers, but I am also relieved it has become a haven for those escaping from the Varjan invasion." Yurine remarked upon arrival at Terauchi Temple. "I think I'll be resting for now. I'll see you all later, yokai."

Utilizing Leon's distraction, Evelyn managed to get the jump on the bandit holding the anti-magic orb. The device turned off as it escaped the brigand's hand, returning magic into the air. And with magic back, Evelyn wasted no time casting her powerful spells; blasting away Einer's and Leon's enemies before summoning a starry constellation above the battlefield which paralyzed the thugs, barely even able to move even a muscle. Even if they tried to use their firearms, they found it was all broken.
Einer watched in awe as the stars above grew in size before blasting the hapless bandits, leaving bodies in its wake. Only one of them seemed to survive the ordeal - the 'worker' whom the Reavers followed from the factory. He had surrendered and told the Reavers that he would give up the weapons.
Evelyn was about to respond, approaching the mole, but then tumbled to the ground face first from exhaustion.
”H-Hey, Fae boy. I may have…made a small miscalculation and used up too much mana with that last attack. It’s not like I need it but, I certainly wouldn’t mind a little bit of help either…”
"I think i have had it with explosions and crazy people for one night, let's go retrieve those stolen goods."
"Indeed, I think our little fight there got a tad more intense than anticipated." Einer replied, having bandaged his wound with some first aid looted from an apparently prepared bandit. Still hurt like hell, though. "I think I know just the song to calm our nerves." With his lyre, Einer began playing the Song of Este as they entered the hideout.
