@Rune_Alchemist Alright. Nicely posted. Teh-heh, sorry to disappoint with that she has Pokémon. And... yeah, you just had to, didn't you. *snicker*
@Pikmin Eye Nicely posted. Alright, we're doing this. Then @Eklispe needs to send out a Pokémon first, and perhaps you both want to make a move or will you want your opponents to initiate? Teh-heh. All are options.
@Eklispe Nicely posted. Alright, up to Martin if he wants to or not. Haha.
@Delta44 It conveys what you wish to do, and the thing about that she expected them to say no was kind of amusing. Nicely posted. The suggestion of doing a conversation over PMs is entirely up to you to decide if to have it or not, it's your journey to go ahead with so its up to you if you have any questions~ Yupp.
@Joshua Tamashii Nicely posted. I gave you a couple of options, you may advance just as far as you like in that post. Haha.
@Pyromaniacwolf It's alright, the others not there quite yet. Haha. Nicely posted. And, you can interrupt the two or stop them from leaving by continuing talking if you wish. Anything you wish to do that is humanly feasible, totally possible. Yupp.
@Rune_Alchemist No worries. You've been pleasantly consistent all the way up till now, I'm not about to not forgive such a minor thing. I'll be ready when you are! :D
The woods watched the little scene that was taking place before them, and soon enough it was apparently time to part. The Trevenants and the Phantumps waved after them, some more hesitantly than others while some were doing it wholeheartedly, but nonetheless the shiny Phantump and Amelia were wished well on their journey. Laurinda stood watching with a neutral expression, before then nodding as Amelia turned back to her.
‘Alright. Next time you come in here will be by your own power. Let’s head back, then.’ Laurinda said, turning to walk. And so, they’d possibly move on. First, it was…
The trees were as dead as ever, and the presence in the midst of the woods tugged on Amelia’s mind. Yet, she could move. And, looking, she could indeed see the small swarms of Pumpkaboos, going about their businesses in groups of greatly varying sizes, but they all moved as if with some purpose in the night.
And Trevenants all around, and Gourgeists floating about in the woods. Because of the purported malicious nature of the Gourgeists, Laurinda ensured their trail avoided them at all costs. But, it was still possible for Amelia to stop if she wanted to.
On the way back, they’d come back to where Delphox stood watch over all the burned Pokémon from the Deep Infested Woods. They were doing alright. If Amelia hadn’t stopped to move on, then they’d soon be in the next kind of wood.
In the Deep Infested Woods, Dustoxes flew and followed the Volbeats, the dust leaking down onto the floor of the woods and poisoning everything. Once again, Chandelure and Trevenant would cooperate to make a path so that the humans could pass through safely. Then, soon enough, they’d reach…
The tight woods of the True Infested Woods were easy to traverse with Laurinda in front, Chandelure scanning everything and burning numerous Spinarak traps. Assuming that Amelia had no reason to stop here, they’d soon enough be back where Amelia had started the journey into the woods.
Outer Infested Woods
The woods glows. Almost everywhere you look, there are shining lights swirling around the trees, flowing along the winds of the woods. It’s a bright dance of yellow light that encompasses everything forwards, shielding the woods from being peeked further into.
The floors of the woods are naturally wet, the waters of the Dragon Lake flowing south and nourishing the woods, giving plenty in the kind of water needed to sustain the woods, and the puddles are excellent for the breeding of bugs. That is the kind of world you’ve stepped into.
So, there’s a metric tonne of Volbeats flying in every perceivable direction, the combination of water and tight woods shielding sunlight causing them to light up in massive numbers. One could almost see where the sweet aroma of Illumise could be smelled in the air as the swarms flew steadily in those directions, before circling back. They were so many, it made the lights shine in numbers enough that one barely saw anything other than the moving lights, causing the woods to glow.
You weren’t alone in having sought out the Infested Woods. Here and there, bug-catchers or just regular trainers were doing their best to catch whatever Pokémon they desired. The first area of Infested Woods was low-level. It was almost impossible to not see at least one Caterpie crawling along the forest-floor or the trees, and if one didn’t see them it was because of the light of Volbeats.
There’s a hut standing there, on the outskirts of the woods. There’s a sign on the outside saying “We’ll heal your Pokémon for 100 P!”. … Looking at the influx of bug catchers, it seems they might have invested in a fairly successful business venture.
One could travel across the outer parts of Infested Woods to get closer to the Wet Caverns. There was always the possibility of delving deeper into the Infested Woods, further south… but are you prepared for that?
At night, Outer Infested Woods glew brightly yet still. Volbeats tracked their Illumise, and in the night they dared drift higher. A few Illumise were competing with one another having their Volbeats create patterns, of spheres, triangles, spheres with triangles sticking out around like a sun in the night sky, formed like a large human in the sky or like star signs created on whims. It was quite the display, and on the ground it was accompanied by the music of Kricketots hitting their antenna together, causing it to sound like a gentle orchestra of xylophones. This was a display that simply wasn’t able to be experienced during the day of Infested Woods. There were numerous humans around, even at night, sitting around smiling at the skies with each other’s company just to experience this spectacle of sound and sight around small campfires to keep warm.
And, yes, it was still night-time. If they came this far without any Amelia deviating from the route, Laurinda would finally turn to look at Amelia where she was and with a new partner.
‘This is as far as I’ll take you. I’ve seen some… interesting things tonight. I’ve never seen the ghosts act that friendly with someone before. I consider it a valuable experience. Thank you for showing me that.’ Laurinda made a brief bow to Amelia. As she did, the Chandelure and the Trevenant looked fairly pleased and happily at her. Of course, both the big ghost-Pokémon were also attracting a few stares from the more trainers that were around in the Outer Infested Woods.
‘If that was all, I wish you good luck on your continued journey. Myself, I’m dreadfully tired so I think I’ll go crash in the hut. They offer sleeping services for humans, too.’ Laurinda said, before turning to walk towards the hut, not actually waiting to hear if it maybe wasn’t all.
If Amelia had any more questions or so, she could stop Laurinda before she went too far. If Amelia had decided to not go all the way back but stop somewhere along the line to do something, then she could do that and postpone the rest of this post until she actually heads back. Otherwise… it was time for a new choice. Noted that it is still night.
1. Find Pokémon. Can be specified what kind of Pokémon is being searched for, and how you search. 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Seek trainers. Though most people around here seems to just be people enjoying the view together or alone. 4. Talk. There are some people around, enjoying the evening in the woods. Maybe speak with them if you want. 5. Move along. Move along normally, letting any events that may come happen naturally. 6. Hurry along. Intentionally avoid confrontations and try to get safely to the next destination. 7. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 8. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 9. Area Specific: Heal at the hut (100p). It’s still open at night! 24 hour support! 10. Area Specific: Delve Deeper. What might await in the deeper regions of the woods…? 11. Area Specific: Enjoy the Show. Volbeats are making patterns in the skies, Will you stay a while and watch?
Connected areas: Route 2. Not too far off. Wet Caverns. A little further off.
The guy looked at Lucian for a couple of seconds while the girl struggled, but eventually settled for gaining a little smile.
‘… Heh.’ The guy simply made a noise of minute amusement as he pulled his cigarette back to his mouth and leaving the girl to recover from the coughing. It took a number of seconds, but the girl could eventually look from the guy to Lucian, trying to consider what to say.
‘W-we were attacked.’ She said. ‘A, uh, couple of trainers attacked us with no provocation despite our reluctance of fighting with them. They weren’t following the rules of battles, they were just violent. We had to flee, but… my Ducklett distracted them so that we could get away.’ The girl looked at the cave with worried eyes and back at Lucian. The guy behind her briefly raised his eyebrows at her and then continued smoking with a neutral expression.
‘If you follow the wetter routes, you should find where we had to leave him. If you do find him, uuuh…’ She made a noise before reaching into her pocket, producing a wet paper. She grimaced a little, seeing the poor condition of the paper, but yet handed it to Lucian (if he would accept it). On it was a number written under the name “Mia”.
‘Then call me. W-we won’t be going back in there, though. Not with them there.’ She said, looking at the entrance again before back at Lucian. ‘... Beware a girl all in white and a guy in blue jacket.’ She warned him, before stepping back to beside the guy.
‘Allan. Let’s go.’ She said, turning around to dash, not along the road.
‘My, my, Mia. Gave your phone-number to a random guy who was just a little handsome? Didn’t think you were so bold.’ He said while pinching and throwing his cigarette before turning to go after Mia with one last curious look at Lucian. Mia simply shot Allan a glare but then ignored the statement, intent on getting off the road.
Of course, Lucian could try stopping them from leaving with questions if he felt like it, or act just about in any way he wanted. It’s all up to what he wants to do.
Wisp straightened her back a little hearing his summarisation, looking at him. As he had made a noise of discomfort, she adjusted the words of light so that he saw them hovering above his desk rather than inside his eyes. It would still not be visible to anyone else as she was only displaying this to Shatterpoint, but she took this measure regardless to make it more pleasant for him.
hate is a strong word i hate the men that parted me and my parents they’re not around anymore i dislike you major difference that is in your advantage
She felt a need to correct him on that particular point. But, otherwise, onto business.
and no, i’m not done the first term was just important enough to mention immediately
So she wrote, before she moved on.
term 2, i will not act villainous i have no desire to threaten or injure civilians i have no intention whatsoever of clashing with heroes so i won’t join on major heists against government buildings or individuals i can steal, i can spy, i can spook i can even fight if the enemies are other villains but ask me to stab an innocent and i will stab you
Hopefully, this wouldn’t make her completely useless to the Rockers.
term 3, we are equals meaning you don’t really have authority over me if i don’t do what you want, you don’t pay me but i won’t have an obligation to do what you want me to, either if i sense any signs of my oppression, i vanish believe me, i’m good at vanishing and if i see any attempt to catch me, i’m gone fairly simple i will inform immediately if i won’t do the next mission asked of me
She did not want to be bound by a contract, and so, this term. And that was it.
term 4 is simply you tell me how you found me for the duration of this deal, you’re required not to track me down again but in any case i wish to know immediately and if i don’t learn it, i’ll simply haunt your grunts until you tell me and believe me, you don’t want me haunting your grunts they’ll be so terrified and anxious they’ll be useless constantly fearing i might be right behind them
Wisp looked at Shatterpoint for his reaction before continuing.
that’s all my terms if i don’t like a job, i’ll object but otherwise, i can do some work for you i can give you an edge in villain-confrontations or just scout ahead and report back where you don’t want to send grunts as a stranger with a knife, i am dangerous just don’t make anyone aware wisp is on your side in fact if you have to discuss me to figure out what to use me for, use a code-name like ‘ghast’ or something
… That had just slipped out, but it made Wisp have to consider. What did she want to be called.
no wait not ‘ghast’ reminds too much of “wisp”, being another type of ghost but it still needs to be creepy
There was a pause, with Wisp considering what she’d want her villain-self to be called. Then her gaze lingered on that last word she had written.
Lataniva initially frowned when Arex began saying that he was flattered, for that didn’t make sense with what she had proposed. Then she realized what he was hinting at and her glare turned into a cold, unamused stare of I am being very patient in letting you talk to point and not just dispensing immediate punishment. At the very least, seems like his mood lifted. Which is a plus. He wasn’t about to attack someone with the negative energy residing because of what had just happened on the station anymore, though this had been done on her expanse. Which she did not enjoy.
Then Maxi refused to treat him. Then Arex tried to do things to himself but was failing clumsily. Lataniva had no intention of cleaning up for him. She had no intention to get herself involved in their feud at all, if they wanted to be like that to one another then it was no matter to her. But they were holding her up, which grated on her. Then Stryker came along and made a situation out of a situation that really wasn’t much of one. He didn’t have any intention to come in-between Lataniva and her intention, which was fine enough with her. She merely gave him a stare before turning to look at Arex again.
‘... I see now that I should not expect you to have any knowledge of Dalentian origin. Allow me to make my intention more clear.’
She said, her tone not hiding her annoyance.
‘I intend to delve into your mind and retrieve your knowledge. You are an anomaly. You have Dalentian blood, yet it acts not as it should. I desire your knowledge on the matter. Allow me to enter your mind.’
She demanded, glaring at Arex. As long as she got to say that, she was fine. Then the rest could come to any conclusions they wanted to about what they wanted to know..
A note about the "copying the voice of children". I'll assume this is bits and pieces that the Phantumps remember from when they were human children (*shudder*), and they shouldn't actually be trying to communicate with it. Maybe single words and such, but the purpose is not to communicate with. Haha.
I'm still up for answering more posts today. Haha.
The Phantump stared at Amelia in amazement as she described what kind of an adventure could be waiting outside the woods. It turned and looked in a specific direction, towards one of the Trevenants standing guard around the glade, which turned in turn to stare back at the Phantump curiously. Some kind of realization went through the Phantump by this exchange (”they’re not opposed to it!?”) and it then turned back to stare at Amelia with open mouth and amazement for a few more seconds. Then it made its choice.
‘Phantump!’ It’s mouth turned into an excited smile and it jumped forward to Amelia, excited.
The following would be displayed whenever Amelia actually got the Pokémon into a Pokéball, if she did.
Amelia obtained Phantump!
Gender: ♀ Type: Ghost/Grass Personality: (Up to player.) Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: (Up to player.) Level: 5 Moves: Tackle, Confuse Ray, Astonish Ability: Natural Cure, can heal itself of status-conditions when not in active battle. Held Item: None.
New Pokémon caught! And it’s shiny! Amelia earned 3000 P!
Would you like to give a nickname to Phantump?
… And now, after whatever scene Amelia and Phantump would share, they were still deep inside Wilted Woods. The presence was still there in the center of the woods. The Trevenants guarding the glade had turned to watch what was happening and the many Phantumps that had been following the shiny one looked a bit confused. Laurinda and her own Trevenant and Chandelure watched from a bit away, having not actually entered the glade but stopped just outside to simply watch with a neutral expression. The Chandelure seemed happy and clapped together two of its candle-arms in slightly loud celebration while the Trevenant also looked kind of pleased with the turnout. After this, it was up to Amelia what she wanted to attempt doing, though yes, Laurinda still stood right there.
