Seeking through the ruins while hopefully avoiding the more poisonous residents of this forest, Claire could confirm the ruins were exactly what they appeared to be. Ruins. Meaning, they were extremely old rocks that once upon a time constructed buildings that living things lived inside. That said, there wasn’t much else around here. Claire might get the feeling she’s far from the first traveller to seek these through and pick them bare of items. So unless she’s interested in some mushrooms growing out between some of the rocks around here, there’s not much. That said, maybe she is interested in mushrooms?

So, Claire was looking around and not finding much in the ways of items, seeking past another arc of rock… when suddenly she came up to something large and green resting in the corner of a former room. A quadruped with a large flower around its neck, there was a soothing smell that emanated from it. If Claire felt even the slightest tired from having been up and moving and searching, that immediately went away as the fragrance refreshed her. Most certainly a pause from all the other thick spores of the Pokémon around here. The creature’s eyes were closed, but it wasn’t necessarily sleeping.
Pokédex Entry #154 – Meganium, the Herb Pokémon. The fragrance of its flower soothes and calms emotions, anyone who stands next to them will feel immediately refreshed. It uses this becalming scent to blunt a foe’s fighting spirit. Its breath has the power to revive dead grass and plants, making them healthy again. A forest with Meganium in it will never die.
… There was another, smaller version of the same creature standing beside it.
‘Chiko?’ asked a tiny little green Pokémon on four legs, standing wide awake beside the larger Pokémon and staring up at Claire curiously.
Pokédex Entry #152 – Chikorita, the Leaf Pokémon. It uses the leaf on its head to check for humidity and warmth, seeking towards sunlight. A sweet aroma spreads from its leaf, which calms those who smell it and creates a friendly atmosphere. A docile and friendly Pokémon, domesticated Chikoritas are commonly paired with children, but rare in wild. Loves to sunbathe.
Okay. So, what will Claire do?
1. Search the area. Maybe find a Pokémon that isn’t immediately obvious, look for items or inspect the ruins for interesting things? 2. Train Pokémon. Just be aware that most things here can probably eat you alive. 3. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 4. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 5. Area Specific: Last Area. This ancient forest isn’t particularly deep. You could get to the end in moments if you ignore everything else. Question is, what’s there?

I will, however, note that I have removed the four-move limit from Pokémon. I can potentially go into detail on how I intend that to work, but it doesn't matter, because Xatu won't actually be using any of those moves... right? Right, heh. So, um. Someone has used a Calm Mind TM on Xatu, apparently. Very well, then. He can chill sometimes if he so wishes, hah.

But the new players that may be showing up now are from a collection of people I already know from somewhere else, where I have reason to believe they'll maybe stick around, or at least not disappear without telling me, hah.

Anyways. We discussed the Xatu. Doesn't look like the plan is for Xatu to fly home immediately, anymore, hah. Still, it's more than just normal trainer fights I don't want Xatu interfering with. If so a villain came in trying to kidnap him, I'd like him to always rely on his own means and not have the Xatu interfere in any way, shape or form, which sounds unlikely, hah. Anyways, that aside.
I do let the trainers pick their own starter. Xatu here is not your starter. Would you like to create your starter?

Yeah, there we go. After what was discussed a bit on discord through PMs, Claire's now in two places so we don't have to stop the battle but Claire can adventure on while Pirouette might be on hiatus for a bit, yeah. She sent me a PM about that a while ago, so, yeah. Rune said ancient forests was right up Claire's alley, so sure, go for it, heh.
