@Gardevoiran Yupp. Nicely posted. Tipped a bunch, haha. Guess you're not going to need that money, huh? Well. Let's hope so, anyway. XD I'm just going with that Valen's left behind for now. Sounded like Pretty was fine with that. Yeah. Moving on.
@Joshua Tamashii And nicely posted. Hah, that's some speech. I need to have Roderick answer, though I intentionally avoided asking questions in order to just, well, make it so that we can continue to the next scene. You can walk, or you can teleport/escape rope, anything goes. Otherwise, talk to me, and we can see what we make out of it.
@Ephemeral Yupp. Nicely posted. As I mentioned, you unintentionally hit Yvonne at a pretty sore spot, I'll give you something for that, hahaha. Otherwise, onto Route 12. I've looked forward to writing that one for a while. Not really sure why. It's just a really nice image.
@Rune_Alchemist Yupp. That's good enough. Nicely posted. Onto the biggest city in Isson, thank lord Pikmin Eye already reached it with Martin so I didn't have to add the effort to write that on top of the rest here. XD
@Typical Pffth, hah. Escaping Leanne like that. You know you can't ensure you will 100% win all the time, right? XD ... Anyways. That's a mighty fine post. Nicely posted. Phoebe's existence is acknowledged and approved, as is her mention about Mt. Allmass's Steel-types, which is pretty accurate, heh. Guess that part was sort-of predictable. Anyways, onto Wet Caverns, huh? Well. ... I may have gone overboard here, but I felt like it. XD
@Eklispe Nicely posted. Yeah, that's some good reacting. Imagining the expression on his face as Cresselia turns towards him is great fun. Anyways. Hopefully we can get you back to actually Pokémoning in a bit now. In a post or two. XD ... That said, Oscar wants that staff back. It's very dear to him. XD
'Oh, right. Yeah, I should probably do that,' Vivia stated to Skylar’s thing about praying if she should. 'Oooh. Hello, Jojo. I’m Vivia. Hope you’ll have fun with your new trainer,' Vivia said, nodding to the little Ralts before heading off to pray. Meanwhile, we’ll assume Valen gave some form of reply to Skylar that meant he’ll be staying here for now, and then Skylar was on the way again, still with Vivia along.
On the way, the path between the two halves of Silent Forest had its own look.
Path to Silent Shrine
This is on the inside of Silent Forest. To the left and right are two different parts of the forest, the north side considerably darker due to the rain-clouds overhead. The only real sounds that can be heard is that of the wind blowing through the forest and rustling its many leaves, otherwise it feels very silent and calm. This, with of course, the exception of trainers coming walking the path between the town and the shrine waiting at the end. On the way, a trainer might notice small surprised-looking green bulb-Pokémon, or white cloud-like beings floating by him in the wind.
Pokédex Entry #548 – Petilil, the Bulb Pokémon. They prefer to live areas with moist, nutrient-rich soil. They’ve been known to be used by humans to find areas suitable for planting plants. The leaves on their heads come right back when plucked off, and while extremely bitter, they’re known to refresh a tired body.
Pokédex Entry #546 – Cottonee, the Cotton Puff Pokémon. They’re extremely light and mostly go where the wind guide them. They’re known to feel more at ease in a group, so they stick together with others of its kind and resemble clouds floating about. If attacked, they shoot cotton at their attacker to distract them.
Still, assuming Skylar simply wished to head by, that’d all be behind him as well when he reached where the forest opened up. And now, it was undoubtedly on the country, as there was a hill before the trainers and a number of houses on it as it rose…
Highhill Town
Highhill Town is a small, lively place that has seemingly stood atop this hill from time immemorial and never really changed. The atmosphere in Highhill Town is much fresher than surrounding places, the buildings are older and the work as honest as ever. The old town is populated by elders and younglings aplenty, and the town has a culture of their own. Plenty of Pokémon assist with the work, either as work-force or the animals that work is being done on.
One usually only crosses Highhill Town on a trip to or from Pureplain City. Regardless, it is a place of beauty. The fields around it are cultivated by hard-working people and Pokémon while the lake to the east gleams in the sunshine as fishermen attend it. There are small roads of asphalt spiraling up the hill to lead to all the old buildings, and children playing around in stairs or nature is very common.
It is said that a trainer praying at the nearby Silent Shrine will be blessed on their journey, so many travel to Highhill Town just for that. There’s also a set of very ancient rocks spread about town, pointing out towards the lake on top of the hill with some engravings. What they mean? Nobody knows. Also, Highhill Town is the residence of a certain Move Changer, whose abilities are sought by some new trainers. What he can do? Visit him to find out.
So, what will Skylar do here?
1. Find Pokémon. Can still search for Pokémon in towns~ 2. Talk. In cities and towns, there are considerably more people one can talk to. Talking can give you info on local rumors and such. 3. Exit. Exit the town to any of the connected areas. 4. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 5. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 6. Notable Buildings. Visit any of the facilities of the city! 6.1. Pokémon Center. Heal all your Pokémon. 6.2. PokéMart. Go to a store and buy things. 6.3. Pokémon Gym. ??? 6.4. Docks. For fishermen or perhaps a ticket across Route 14. 6.5. Ancient Rocks. Of completely unknown origin, ancient writing on them. 6.6. Ranch. There are ranches around Highhill, if you stand to gain from them. 6.7. Move Changer. We can guess from the name, but what can this man do? 6.8. Mayor’s House. If you see reason to visit, it’s right by the rocks.
Connected areas: Route 1. To the south, is the common route of first journeys. Green and straight. Route 3. To the north, the route to Rainrock or the Silent Shrine. A wet woodland. Route 14. To the east, the lake known as the Dragon Lake, potentially for crossing. Path to Silent Shrine. To the west, the Silent Forest and the path to the shrine within.
Erza called back Princess, confirming Yvonne’s victory. Then he praised her efforts-
Yvonne wavered a bit, maintaining her smile but bringing one hand up to her chest and lowered her gaze a little to the ground.
‘Y-yeah, he is…’ Yvonne stated, suddenly a lot more demure than previously. Her smily waned away slowly, and then, when Erza was about to leave…
‘… Wait,’ Yvonne said, calling back Stefan and then walking up to Erza, though without making eye-contact. ‘… Sorry. I lashed out at you when you came to comfort me. It’s, er, it was good of you, don’t reconsider it,’ she said, looking sideways. ‘So, like, take these. Thanks.’ So she said before thrusting something into Erza’s chest and then hurrying off. He found himself holding a bunch of scales. Most of them useless, but-
‘Thank you for waiting. We’ve restored your Pokémon to full health.’
She says as she hands the Pokéballs back. She then bows to her customer and gives a friendly smile.
‘We hope to see you again!’
-and then it was off for new lands. He headed through Route 11, no biggie, he was done exploring this place now. Instead, he took his sights north, upon the great plains that awaited there. A bit further north, and it became clear that the mountain-side had done a number on these plains. Yet… wasn’t it an amazing spectacle to behold?
Route 12
No fox-girls, I’m afraid.
Route 12 is a vast expanse that opens out west of Bigfjord City and north of Rainrock City. It curves around Mt. Strength towards the east, with the Fairsea waters awaiting right up north, and it serves as the primary route to travel between Worldedge and Pureplain. That, however, significantly downplays how wild this route can be!
Cliffs stand out from the otherwise grassy plains, remnants of Mt. Strength sticking out as huge bent rocky part-mountains with simple ramps allowing anyone to climb for an amazing view. Along the bottom of the valleys run clear rivers originating from the peaks of Mt. Strength, flowing down into Fairsea waters. On the top of many of the cliffs are little windmills, using the altitude to derive power from this shape of nature. In the bottom, following these roads along the Route 12 countryside, are also small homes dug into the sides of the cliffs by Pokémon, where both Pokémon and people live.
Route 12 is the main passageway to Redcoast and Pureplain, so there’s probably roads which trucks can drive wares from Bigfjord and Worldedge. There are many smaller roads for trainers next to these, where adventurers can feel like they’re on an adventure. To the west and north, Fairsea extends far, with the northern landmass and Magmagulf Volcano beckoning in the distance. The Travel Outpost, a dock for traversing Fairsea, stands to the north at the sea’s edge, at trainer’s disposal. To the south-east, Mt. Strength rises tall over the route, calling to potential hikers to climb it. Walking around is decently simple, but what’s the fun in that? At the base of Mt. Strength stands the Pokéball Factory, a robust building that looks somewhat out-of-place. Must have use of the minerals the mountain contains, perhaps?
As for the Pokémon that are here… First things first, there’s a bunch of Zigzagoons and Poochyena.
Pokédex Entry #263 – Zigzagoon, the Tiny Racoon Pokémon. An exceedingly curious Pokémon which walks in a zig-zag pattern with its nose in the ground. It is skilled at finding items people have left around. It rubs its hard back hair against trees to leave territorial markings.
Pokédex Entry #261 – Poochyena, the Bite Pokémon. At first sight, it will bite anything that moves and threaten foes with bared fangs and bristling out the hair on its tail. It’s a Pokémon with persistent nature, liking to chase down its prey using its acute sense of smell until the prey becomes exhausted. However, if the prey strikes back, Poochyena turns tail.
As well, there’s a bunch of prey and predators around. Here, the prey are electric-types, gathering wherever there are clouds…
Pokédex Entry #179 – Mareep, the Wool Pokémon. It rubs together its coat of wool to generate static electricity that is stored in its fleece, which can more than double in size with enough electricity. This is how it keeps warm, so it discharges the electricity come summer when it’s not needed. The bulb on its tail grows more brightly the more electricity is stored.
Pokédex Entry #522 – Blitzle, the Electrified Pokémon. Its mane shines when it discharges electricity. They use the frequency and rhythm of these flashes to communicate. They gather where storm-clouds go, catching the lightning strikes with their horns like lightning rods in order to charge themselves.
While the hunters are fire-types, naturally following behind or just laxing about on the wide plains.
Pokédex Entry #37 – Vulpix, the Fox Pokémon. Inside a Vulpix's body burns a fire that never goes out. It commonly inhabits grassy fields, and will feign injury to escape a stronger opponent. When born, a Vulpix has only one snow-white tail, but with age and care it splits into more, warmer tails.
Pokédex Entry #667 – Litleo, the Lion Cub Pokémon. When young they live in a pride, but eventually leave to become stronger or are thrown out when old enough. They’re curious and hot-blooded, quick to investigate and quick to challenge enemies way out of their league. The stronger the enemy, the hotter the fire in its mane grows.
Oh, and there are Budews and Pidoves, too. Walking about or flapping around.
Pokédex Entry #406 – Budew, the Bud Pokémon. It is sensitive to changing temperature. In winter it closes its bud and endures, while in summer it blooms and releases its pollen. This pollen is mildly poisonous and can cause harsh sneezing. It lives near clear ponds.
Pokédex Entry #519 – Pidove, the Tiny Pigeon Pokémon. They’re very accustomed to people and flock around cities and parks. They harbour no fear of people and can be very noisy. They’re very forgetful, and is one of few Pokémon that might not understand a trainer’s orders when given one.
In addition, joining around where there are people are a certain number of cats, trying to garner favour and get treats… or steal from them, that too.
Pokédex Entry #509 – Purrloin, the Devious Pokémon. It puts up a cute act to fool humans around it. It loves stealing things for fun and will act cute in order to make people forgive it. If endangered, it will counter-attack with sharp claws.
… Oh, and…
This is the single place in Isson where wild Eevees can be caught. If Vee was born wild (which isn’t necessarily the case), that means this is home. Regardless, only because of this, with Vee’s help…
Pokédex Entry #133 – Eevee, the Evolution Pokémon. It’s a very rare Pokémon known to have a very unstable genetic makeup. Depending on where it lives, it is known to use evolution into different forms as means to survive harsher climates. It has eight currently known evolutions.
… Erza could probably find more Eevees here, with Vee finding their nests or picking up their scents or so.
So. What does Erza intend to do?
1. Find Pokémon. Can be specified what kind of Pokémon is being searched for, and how you search. 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Seek trainers. Seek out trainers and battle them. 4. Talk. See if they can answer whatever questions you want answered. 5. Move along. Move along normally, letting any events that may come happen naturally. 6. Hurry along. Intentionally avoid confrontations and try to get safely to the next destination. 7. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 8. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 9. Mountain River. There’s no place to actually climb Mt. Strength from this side, but that river goes deep… 10. Houses. Actual people have dug their way into the 11. Vee specific: Eevee habitat. Just an option. If Vee wants to go check on would-be home.
Connected areas: Route 11. To the south is the somewhat rainy route that connects to Rainrock and Redcoast City. Pokéball Factory. A robust building that probably produced the balls in your bag right now. Travel Outpost. A dock and a meeting place for those who wish to travel over Fairsea waters. Bigfjord City. At the end of Route 12, seaside, rises a grand, corporate city with large, black buildings… Route 13. A somewhat electrically charged route by the Power Plant, leading on to Worldedge City.
Frans nodded to her taking care of Bronzor for now. Then, there was the call about remembering the poses, which made Frans laugh a bit again, striking one of the poses that Claire had drilled into him before departing on further. Then she addressed Kalmia.
'To the big city, huh? Well, good luck!' Kalmia simply wished her, and then she was off.
Approaching Worldedge City gave rise to something of a spectacle. Mt. Edge towered above all, yet the city itself gave it no quarter. It was as if the city itself followed the mountain far above where a regular city would end, and it should be noted that the entrance to Worldedge City is pretty high up, above a cliff down to the water, yet Worldedge City stretched DOWN as well as up. There were buildings on top of buildings, and it really looked like the whole thing should collapse… yet it did not. Supported by some form of mystic energy of Mt. Edge, the largest city of Isson was a spectacle to behold… and, well. Nothing else to it than to enter, is there?
Worldedge City
A rush of energy flows with the wind that breezes through the alleys of the city. Somehow, you feel lighter, like some strange weight has been taken from your shoulders. Looking up, tall, massive structures, structures seeming to defy gravity and common sense grows, stretching high into the sky and far down across the cliffs. The people look calm, focused on their duties and sprawling in their number, holding a vital position in all the businesses of Isson. The design of the streets are narrow, illogical and unstructured, feel like they would be easy to get lost in, yet it is as if you’re being guided by fate’s hand and you’ll arrive where you were intending to go. In the distance, always watching, the peaks of a distant mountain rises. You are now in Worldedge City.
Isson’s largest city. It grew into place at both sides of Mt. Edge as efforts were made to dig through the mountain and join the northern and southern landmasses, it was known as two different towns until the use of Abras as public transportation method within the city was widely adopted and the city grew to become known as one single entity. Widely accepted is the idea that a mystical energy of some form within Mt. Edge surges around the buildings, calling Psychic Pokémon towards the mountain and therefore the city. People living here have easier time feeling at ease with the world, and the laws of gravity doesn’t apply as they maybe should to the buildings around here. From this would Isson’s most successful city grow to be, at the place where two or more worlds connect. So was Worldedge City named.
It should be noted that being called a “Worldedge Resident” has some negative stigma attached to it. If you are one, you’re interpreted as a lazy individual who has it easier than the rest of the world, happiness coming naturally to you and you probably see yourself as superior to the rest of Isson, and you might not be entirely sane or yourself due to constant exposure to the energies of Mt. Edge. Of course, this is a stereotype that most people recognize and can see past, but there is no smoke without fire, so to say. There those who are very distrustful of the energies of Mt. Edge and would rather never subject themselves to it. These particular dislikes compounded and grew strong enough in some people that the Crossing was created just south of Worldedge City just so those individuals could get past without entering the city.
The city is comprised of six different districts. Three districts on each side of Mt. Edge, stapled on top of one another by the way of leaning on the cliff sides and mountain as well as giant pillars, taking advantage of the strange physics around Mt. Edge. Exits out of the city are on the middle districts of each side. Each district have their own Pokémon Center and Pokémart, but otherwise have their own unique features.
The following applies regardless of where in Worldedge City you are.
Connected areas: Route 10. South of Worldedge. A farmland employing multiple psychic Pokémon from Mt. Edge to help with the crops. Route 13. West of Worldedge. A slightly disturbed route, which attracts electric Pokémon due to the proximity of the power plant. Mt. Edge. The mystical mountain at the heart of Worldedge’s unnatural existence. Few people actually cross its fabled tunnels, most just teleport past. Route 18. East of Worldedge. A calm stretch of land going from Worldedge to Witchpeak, part of the Allmass Cycling Circuit.
1. Find Pokémon. Can still search for Pokémon in cities~ 2. Talk. In cities, there are considerably more people one can talk to. Talking can give you info on local rumors and such. 3. Exit. Exit the city to any of the connected areas. 350P if you need to Abra to the other side of Mt. Edge for it. 4. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 5. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you. 6. Notable Places. Visit any of the places in the city! 6.1. Pokémon Center. Heal all your Pokémon. 6.2. PokéMart. Go to a store and buy things.also 6.3. Any of the notable places unique to the various districts. 7. Abra Teleport. 350P, and an Abra will teleport you to the other side of Mt. Edge.
So, every so often there are tame Abras just sitting around. These are typically holding a sign saying where they can teleport you for a payment. They’ve been bred for this exact purpose, and they’re not available for capture. There ARE wild Abras around… but good luck finding one.
Pokédex Entry #63 – Abra, the Psi Pokémon. Due to the strain of Psychic powers, it needs to sleep for 18 hours a day. However, even asleep it can use its powers, which reads the minds of beings close-by and teleports instinctively if it finds someone hostile. Someone wishing to catch an Abra must clear their mind as they approach.
Behind some corners or just walking about are these yellow-brown creatures. Originally they just lived around Mt. Edge, but then a bunch of dreamers moved in and they felt no reason to move.
Pokédex Entry #96 – Drowzee, the Hypnosis Pokémon. It gains nourishment by consuming dreams. Fun or happy dreams are more delicious, and it can get a bad stomach from nightmares. In battle, it puts enemies to sleep and then eats their dreams. It remembers every dream it has eaten, and if you make friends with one it can show you its best dreams with psychic powers.
Occasionally, one of these drift through the air, looking as happy as a unicellular organism could possibly be.
Pokédex Entry #577 – Solosis, the Cell Pokémon. Their bodies are surrounded by a special liquid that protects them from any environment, no matter how dirty. When among its own kind it communicates telepathically, and should it be endangered it drives attackers away using strong psychic attacks.
The closer you get to Mt. Edge, the more frequently you’ll see one of these flying around. But, spend any time in Worldedge City and you’ll see them eventually.
Pokédex Entry #605 – Elgyem, the Cerebral Pokémon. A mysterious Pokémon that only appeared around half-a-decade ago, theorized to be linked with a UFO said to have been seen crashing into the deserts of Unova. However, they appeared around Mt. Edge in Isson at around the same time. Usually friendly, they’re known to squeeze the brains of attackers with psychic power, causing terrible headaches.
Common: #63 Abra (tame) #96 Drowzee
Uncommon: #574 Gothita #577 Solosis #605 Elgyem
Rare: #63 Abra (wild) #576 Gothitelle
Currently entering the Information District, the first thing you enter upon arriving in Worldedge City.
Information District
No, they’re not exclusively witches around here.
A common and calm area of Worldedge City, this district attracts those who would fancy themselves scholars. They may seek to share their knowledge at the multiple cafés spread about, read up at the library, check into the museum or any number of things. There aren’t that many things here that would keep a Pokémon Trainer dawdling around for long, and most residents here are fine with that. It is still quite the spectacle, walking on the bridges between these pointy buildings, finding the streets and wondering how you're not lost yet in this maze of stairs and bridges, never touching the ground. Far above lies the Mystical District and there are plenty of stairs up, and down below is the Industrial District… It may feel a bit enclosed. Most notable in this area is most certainly the famous Professor Dunstan’s lab and residence, which he mostly leaves to his companions as he spends a lot of his time in the other lab in Raremine Town as well.
Notable Places:
1. Guide Booth. Because finding your way in Worldedge City can be a challenge! 2. Gossiping Cafés. If you want to hear the useful kind of gossip, sit in among the intellectuals. Ask and you may be surprised at how much you can learn! 3. Sir Know-Em-All. A famed Psychic. If you can think of a person, Sir Know-Em-All can tell you where to go to meet them! 4. Professor Dunstan’s Lab. A legendary researcher of Legendary Pokémon, do you have reason to seek his counsel? 5. World Library. With the backing of Professor Dunstan himself, this library has all the information you could possibly seek… probably. 6. Isson Museum. Don’t feel like travelling to all the corners of the world? Don’t need to, the museum has gathered up the noteworthy things from all its corners! 7. Move Tutor Mansion. A gathering-spot for those talented in teaching Pokémon moves they wouldn’t normally learn.
Using elevators or teleportation Abras, one can easily access the other districts around Worldedge City, so here’s the other options.
Industrial District
There is no way this place can have screwed-up gravity and emotional influence without companies trying to use it for their own gains. The factories of Worldedge City are far below the Information District, down at water-level, where at the base of Mt. Edge countless machines tumble and toll for the continued success of man- and Pokémon-kind. Being below two other districts the Industrial District is naturally dark, even during the day, but countless lights shine it up and the workers do not mind one bit. They have their own marketplaces, their own little residences and they certainly earn enough to make their own lives when it comes to that. But, among the factories and warehouses are those that stand empty, and one might have to wonder what’s actually inside them sometimes.
Notable Places:
1. Factories. Produces everything from Pokédolls to furniture, and who-the-heck-knows. 2. Abandoned Factories. Produces everything from Grimers to street thugs, and who-the-heck-knows. 3. Warehouses. Storing items from factories, some more well-used than others. Some opens by keycards. 4. Request Center. A certain camp of individuals that can take your requests for Pokémon or items you want, and they might come back and provide them for you. Sounds easy, right? 5. Sketchy Entrances. … The heck are you doing down here? They hid these things down here for a REASON, normal people wouldn’t normally ever need to see them! 6. ???. Trigger a “random” event. Not sure why you’d be walking down here, but. 7. Claire Specific: Entrance to Factory. Uxie showed a path into a not-so abandoned factory.
Mystical District
The tip and top of Southern Worldedge City, here the power the mountain provides is enough for certain buildings to float in mid-air. Assisted by Psychic-Pokémon, the upper echelons of the city contains a significant price-tag for those who’d wish to live here and so filters the more common men to the levels below, yet there are activities that draw trainers up from the depths. First and foremost is the Pokémon Gym, floating above their heads, and also the Worldedge Floating Stadium, the largest and most amazing of the multiple stadiums in Worldedge City, where the most epic of battles in the city are fought and watched. Truly, these streets so high above the rest leave a certain impression as one walks here.
Notable Places:
1. Pokémon Gym. Worldedge City Gym. It’s one of those towers floating in mid-air… You need to fly to get there. 2. Worldedge Floating Stadium. Worldedge’s biggest stadium, floating over the city. Have Minor (level 25-minus), Middle (level 25-50) and Major (level 50-plus) cups. 3. The Villas of the Rich. Not that there’s much you could potentially do with them, but they’re here. 4. Orlando’s Spiritual Dojo. A dojo focused on discovering one’s spiritual self. Often takes trips into Mt. Edge. You can join an expedition for protection, or challenge them! 5. Marilyn’s Divination. Tell her where you’re going next, and she can divine your luck and what to look out for when there! 6. Gym Leader’s Home. … So, those who can’t get to the Gym themselves are sometimes known to wait for the leader here. It’s a little frowned upon.
… Then there’s Mt. Edge, splitting the city in half, the ominous peaks having something unfriendly in their jagged shapes to deter any potential hiker wishing to take on its tunnels…
To reach the Northern Districts, you’ll need an Abra to teleport you or walk through the tunnels of Mt. Edge. Costs 350P.
Residential District
On the absolute top of the northern districts, you’ll find the place in Worldedge City with the freshest air. While the building architecture still might require a raised eyebrow, the atmosphere is healthy and playful, many families making their life here on top of the Commercial and Entertainment districts, where they work. Schools and little parks for children to learn the ways of Pokémon exist, and there is nothing saying those older cannot use them too. The Little Cup stadium is here, allowing the children to watch and perhaps participate without straying too far from home. Yet, among these buildings live a few of the most noteworthy individuals in Isson. Like the rumored and powerful Crone, who has to be battled by a strong trainer every once in a while or she will stir up trouble, or like the empty mansion that supposedly belongs to the Champion…
Notable Places:
1. Practice Park. A little park in the residential district where children can catch low-level Pokémon and train for the real thing. 2. Pokémon Day Care. For people to leave their Pokémon while they’re doing something else. Some people don’t like PCs, so~ 3. Little Cup. A small stadium for battling. Levels 15 and lower, only. 4. Champion Estate. The Champion supposedly lives in this mansion here. It looks abandoned. 5. Creator’s Apartment. You instinctively know where this place is somehow, despite nothing advertising it. It’s visually an ordinary apartment. The door is open. 6. House of the Crone. Signs say “We appreciate people challenging her to keep her from being bored, but only if you are confident in your strength.”
Commercial District
Squeezed in-between the Residential District and the Entertainment District lies the Commercial District. It’s a long, winding corridor of tight buildings with many bridges and storefronts, and it all leads up to the Worldedge Department Store, the biggest Pokémart in Isson. If you somehow cannot find what you’re looking for there, then you’re probably all out of luck. It isn’t all there is here, however. Among the corridors is the House of Trades, where people can sit at computers and request trades with all other people that have ever been there, as well as the Psychic Train that uses certain teleporting abilities to achieve transportation to a distant town. Or, if those don’t reach where you want, you can just call a Freecape Ferryman and s/he’ll fly you there, assuming you have the cash. Also here, lies the store where the infamous inventor Russel sells his products. Perhaps, if you’re lucky, the fool’s things actually work for you? No guarantees, though!
Notable Places:
1. Worldedge Department Store. Products from all over Isson gather, right here. The largest store of Isson. 2. Worldedge Trade Station. A place where people can come trade Pokémon and items with people from all over! 3. Pokémon Groomer. For a price, you can have some professionals treat your Pokémon like royalty~! 4. Psychic Train. Runs along spiritual tracks to lead somewhere else in the world. The trips are one-way only. 4.1. Justroad City/Gentlevale City/Witchpeak City. 500P 4.2. Bigfjord City/Freecape Town/Raremine Town. 1000P 4.3. Redcoast City/Rainrock City/Pureplain City. 2000P 5. Freecape Ferrymen Phone. A phone linked to call a Freecape Ferryman, who can Fly you somewhere in the world for a considerable price. 6. Food Stands. Hot dogs to ice creams. Pretty good. 7. Inventor Russel’s Store. Russel, crazy inventor. Who knows what he might have for sale? He’s also known to give random stuff or quests to trainers passing by, giving them cash as incentive.
Entertainment District
In the depths of Northern Worldedge City, common sense goes out the window. Given all the buildings on top, few actual lights come down here even during the day, but all the blazing lights in this unnatural city-scape more than make up for it. Plenty of the skyscrapers holding up the Commercial District above have some form of advertisement, and each open door opens a new possible way to spend money in these depths of entertainment, probably with some form of Pokémon logo. Down here lies the most famous and populated Game Corner on Isson, where thousands of P are being wasted every day, and houses for unofficial Contests or Battles for money and prices are sanctioned and bet upon for the enjoyment of viewers and participants. It truly feels like if one never got bored, one would probably never run out of things to do down here… assuming the wallet didn’t run dry, that is.
Notable Places:
1. Worldedge Game Corner. Only play with as much you’re willing to spend! 2. Leanne was smirking confidently at Eryn… until suddenly Eryn was like “nah”.
'WHATTHE-' Leanne made a noise of distress as Dei smokescreened and Eryn made a run for it. Shortly after Eryn found one or two embers from a Flareon flying through the smoke, Leanne completely forgetting she wasn’t supposed to aim for trainers who didn’t accept the battle because she felt immeasurably snubbed. 'COWARD! COME FIGHT ME, YOU-!' … Was the last thing Eryn heard before she managed to dash out the area.
Eryn spent a while resting at the Pokémon Center, texting her friend, and then the day after she was up and it was time to head out again.
Managing to avoid any sort of fuzz in the morning in Pureplain City, Eryn successfully made her way across Route 2. Now, there’s trainers on the bridges of Route 2’s rivers, but Eryn could avoid those and arrive to the incline leading up to Wet Caverns in peace. There, she was confronted with a dark hole in the wall, leading into the mountainside which presented the caves that she sought to traverse. Reaffirming with herself and all of the stories around it, Eryn gathered up her Pokémon and entered.
Wet Caverns
The Wet Caverns, known so for the sheer amount of water drenching the contents. It’s a large series of tunnels with no real large open rooms, dividing itself up into a fairly simple maze going from one side to the other. The water inside the tunnels thankfully lit up the contents due to some shining mineral in the liquid, giving rise to a mildly lit set of tunnels. Many people prefer not to travel through the Wet Caverns due to them being long and easy to get lost in, in addition to the large amounts of hostile Pokémon which might attack at any time. Yet, here you are…
Still. There are those who travel through it on a regular basis. Those who have learned the trick finds it a fairly easy shortcut between Lakewatch Town and Pureplain City. For enthusiasts there are always the options of delving deeper into the caverns, fishing or surfing to find out what kind of Pokémon might inhabit the depths and the shallow rivers that flow along the underground corridors. It is known to be fairly diverse when it comes to the Pokémon inhabiting it, giving trainers both water- and cave Pokémon to pick from when they want to catch something.
… The cave has a damp smell to it, due to the water further in. It’s a rocky corridor, with rocks and creatures, but up ahead the road splits into three. To the left, there’s a tunnel in to a rocky tunnel which is dry but still lit somehow, if he wished to avoid getting wet. To the right was a wet, partly drowned tunnel which a person would have to wade to get through. Straight ahead starts a fairly sharply inclining tunnel descending downwards, into darkness.

Pokédex Entry #41 – Zubat, the Bat Pokémon. It lives in colonies in dark places. It has no eyes, but when flying it is constantly emitting ultrasonic sounds which it uses to navigate through echolocation. As sunlight burns it, it’s usually only found in caves or at night.
… Suffice to say, there was a sudden horrifying flutter of wings as a number of bats descended upon Eryn a few steps into the cave. Count on being under constant attack by Zubats during your trip through Wet Caverns, constantly trying to chip away at her Pokémon’s health, or hers if no Pokémon are available. The picture of Wet Caverns is an accurate representation of the average traveller trying to go through Wet Caverns, assuming the bats are Zubats.
So, what will Eryn do?
Other than fend off the beings in the hider, of course, but if you have to post about that constantly you’ll be here forever.

‘Alright, we’ll leave it to her,’ Roderick agreed on the Amelia stopping the ghosts. ‘Hmpf. Team Amethyst are common criminals who do what they do for the sake of profit. I do what I do for the sake of the people. In the event of Kyogre and Groudon, I would do what I could to stop them. Field all my forces and attempt to subdue the beasts, perhaps trying to convince another legendary to assist if we can find one. Rayquaza, preferably. After they’re subdued, I start seeking a way to ensure it will never happen again. Permanently, as you so mention,’ Roderick told, simple, with no doubt believing each word he said.
‘Those who do not learn history are doomed to repeat it. We have detailed records of the horrors that Darkrai once caused, and as to why the seal was needed. It would make us fools to not act on them. … And I don’t know about you, but I like my dreams without these two beasts contending for if we have nice dreams, regardless of how it’s balanced.’ He then shook his head at the mention of thinking Joshua might be a terrorist or making people suffer.
‘I recognize you for what you are. It may have been my annoyance talking when I said you’d have Darkrai inflict nightmares on people. You are a protector of Pokémon, your justice maintained in your own way, whereas I am a protector of people. The two are not mutually exclusive. Team Virtue has fought Team Amethyst in defense of the Pokémon they’ve tried to poach, after all. One must sometimes take priority over the other. For what you do, however, I respect you,’ Roderick said.
Then Amelia went over first to Dawkin, and then over to Oscar.
‘Oh, yes, I’m fine, I’m grateful for your concern,’ Oscar said, standing up to take a mystic pose, despite being totally dusted by the fall. ‘The fates move in mysterious ways. Very well, I shall assist thee in quelling the conflict that has been stained the tapestry of today,’ Oscar stated.
‘Chatot,’ Roderick told, and held his arm in front of him. Chatot eagerly jumped onto his arm. ‘To Ivory. The mission is over. Return!’
‘The mission is over. Return!’ Chatot replied, perfectly using Roderick’s voice.
‘Oscar, take Chatot with you. That should make things work smoothly,’ Roderick said, Chatot flying over to land on Oscar’s shoulder. Oscar bowed to him.
‘Chatot’s assistance will be invaluable. Thank you, your excellency,’ Oscar said… and then turned to Dawkin. ‘Now, if you would. I’m the chosen wielder of the staff of righteousness. It is my pride and joy to be permitted to lay my lowly hands on such a wondrous artifact… so… may I request to have it back?’ Oscar asked, holding his hand out to Dawkin.
Dawkin mentioned Escape Rope.
‘You desire to reach the entrance. If so, then it would appear that you have use of my Abra? He can teleport us there at once,’ the girl over there asked, looking over here. ‘So… It would appear that you are a medium, too?’ she asked, looking at Amelia. An analyzing gaze, it is.
REGARDLESS, ASSUMING THEY EVENTUALLY ACTUALLY USE ONE OR THE OTHER TO GET BACK.
Old Tombs Entrance
Now, they arrived basically into the midst of a battle. One one side, a whole lot of Team Virtue goons, spearheaded by
Now, the Team Virtue grunts are using a whole lot of different Pokémon with plenty of variety, but let’s also say that, like, every third or second of them also has an Electrike.
Pokédex Entry #309 – Electrike, the Lightning Pokémon. It runs faster than the human eye can follow. When running, the friction is converted into electricity, which is then stored in its fur. This electricity stimulates its muscles and can also be unleashed in violent discharges. It gives off sparks when a storm is approaching.
Leading the force of ghosts was Aegislash, Cofagrigus and Gengar…
‘AEGISLAAAA-!’ ‘COFAGRIGUUUU-!’ ‘GEEENGAAAAAA-!’ No translation provided, all Pokémon are permitted to give them weird looks.
Facing them was Ivory, and two elites assisting their female Admin.
He hasn't noticed yet.
Pokédex Entry #178 – Xatu, the Mystic Pokémon. It carries the mystic ability to see both the past and future, yet it stays rooted in place all day long. From the moment the sun rises, it stays still eyeing the sun’s movements until sunset, meditating. Legends say it sees a terrible future it cannot change, and so it doesn’t move.
Pokédex Entry #692 – Clauncher, the Water Gun Pokémon. Its massive claw is a water-pistol firing compressed water using controlled expulsions of internal gasses. The shots it fires can shatter rock at close distances, it uses this to shoot down flying prey. It is known to use this expulsion to travel fast, jetting water out behind it to accelerate.
Pokédex Entry #582 – Vanillite, the Fresh Snow Pokémon. Born from icicles bathed in morning sunlight, they can use their cold breath to create snow crystals and make it lightly snow around them. They’re pleasantly cool to be around, so they’re commonly kept around indoors when it’s hot to keep it cool.
Oscar, of course, immediately spun towards the Team Virtue side and raised his arm with the Chatot on.
‘Team Virtue! Hear your excellency’s voice through Chatot, and heed his command!’ Oscar called.
‘The mission is over. Return!’ Chatot told, and it had immediate effect. At least Ivory immediately gave her commands to return from the attacking ghosts, but, for the moment, the ghosts weren’t pulling back. They were still enraged and in need of calming down. Amelia’s job, was it?
After that, because I’m not gonna have her fail, she and Dawkin are free to do as they like.
Old Tombs
A perfect mix of sand, civilization and senescence. The old tombs are once grand halls construed out of a rocky interior decimated by time. Old buildings still stand, magnifique in their architecture and proud in their stature, showing the grace of a time long by. The halls lead deeper, but many of the passages are blocked by the sands of the desert, which has leaked inside through unintended openings that has broken up by time or digging. Who knows what kind of wonders await down inside the different buildings that still stand down here, or what kind of creatures still stirr in the wake of the civilization that once stood here. Because all the writings and discoveries that have been decoded here point to the same thing; these are tombs. Magnificent and deep tombs that lead who knows where, protected by the same protectors that once protected the civilization above ground as well.
These protectors still walk these halls, threatening those who would wander them.

Seek trainers. Or, like, researchers. 4. Talk. People can be chatted with. 5. 9. Inhabitants. Aegislash is still around, as is Gengar and Cofagrigus. And this girl, her dad is further in. Roderick is over there, if that. Yeah. 10. Search the Tombs. Who knows what kinds of things have been hidden away in these mildly dangerous depths…!? 11. Joshua and Darkrai. Is still a thing. We did sort of agree that’s one epic battle that can happen off-screen, though.

The theme of today's post is "how many people can we free from their current situations and set loose to do as they like again!?"
@Typical You being the exception, you're going into something instead. That took a while to make. Still, that was decently fun. Now, the level of <that> is only like 20, it doesn't get much higher in the Trainers' School, but still. I put you up against a trainer that would be more or less your level. Let's see how you handle her. Hahahaha.
@Ephemeral I'm afraid I don't entirely see Princess prevailing here. Stafan's one tough customer. XD ... In any case, you're free to do as you like, now. If you wish to continue talking to Yvonne, you can do that, or you can do whatever else you like, otherwise. Yepp. That's about that.
@Rune_Alchemist And with that, I think that's about as far as this little event needs to go, if you'd like to go do something else. Or, hah, suppose you can hang onto Frans if you want to experience some drama. Not sure what you'd do there, yet, but still. Now you can do whatever.
@Gardevoiran Since I've already decided you can have this Ralts, here you go. Hah. Alright, you're free to do as you like again.
@prettydrops Say, are you intending on posting? Otherwise, Skylar might just go off on his own without your reply. That may be for the best, if your next post is going to take a while, but, it'd feel better if you could talk a bit. Oh, well.
@Joshua Tamashii@Eklispe And... the big one. I got a bit weary of this event, so I took the chance and just cleared it up, here. This is primarily to ensure that Amelia and Dawkin can once again move as they want to without needing to follow this event. That said, there's a bit more event stuff to deal with. The rest of Team Virtue is still attacking the front gate of the Old Tombs, there's still a bunch of sleeping people, but Darkrai will deal with that. First things first, though...
I really can't let anyone get a legendary without a fight, though. No matter whom they are. Hahahaha.
Kalmia watched with a smile on her face as Eryn bonded with her new Pokémon. The trio of Pokémon happily accepted the Occa Berry, Pumpkaboo doing some form of half-bow to Eryn and then Kyllene for it. Finally, when Eryn took her goodbyes with Kalmia, she raised a hand to wish her the same.
'No problem! Good luck out there!' Kalmia wished her. Slowpoke did the same, a full twenty minutes after she had left.
Eryn escorted the Pokémon back to Infested Woods, where they said their goodbyes and then Eryn and her Pokémon headed on. And, so, eventually, after a meal, she headed for Trainers’ School because money.
It’s a school. Kids around Pureplain City flock here eventually to learn the basics of Pokémon battling, or there are trainers that come here only to attend the odd lesson before they embark on their big journey. There’s a patch of grass on the side where wild Pokémon can be found, and every week the teachers are known to have found a new specie to release into it in order to keep the students interested. And, of course, there’s plenty of Pokémon battling among the students as they do their best to learn. In fact…
To the right immediately after Eryn enters the school, there’s a list of students in a ranking-list on a wall. A huge list of the 50 top students, ranked in Pokémon battling ability, and there’s a thing that anyone who visits can challenge the list to get onto it temporarily. Leaving for too long obviously means falling off the list, but those who rank high gain some benefits and bragging rights.
But even above the #1… The school apparently had their own Elite Four and Champion that one could challenge.
Pureplain City Trainers’ School Elite Four: Georgia - The Brawler Loke - The Knight Penelope - The Idol Edwin - The Cricket
Champion: Daisy - The Siren (The Champion in our hearts, Maple - The Scorcher, is currently out on her Pokémon trip. We send out our most heartfelt wishes to her!)
So, here Eryn went to battle against the most common of the trainers down here. That’d be a fair amount of them here, despite the late hour, and Eryn could get into a fair bit of battles!
School Kids wants to fight!
So, with a varying amount of confidence fighting in battle, most of the kids had pretty local Pokémon. Pidgeys, Rattatas, the occasional Meowth, Lillipup. Found on Route 1, there were a few Growlithes and Ekans, as well. Then, produced from the school park, there was Shinx, Purrloin and Sunkern. Finally, there was this strange kid with only a Remoraid.
Pokédex Entry #16 – Pidgey, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. They are docile Pokémon that avoid fighting, kicking up sand in an enemy’s face or using Whirlwind to avoid battles. They have sharp senses of direction, capable of finding their nest or destination from very large distances. They inhabit tall grass where they search and prey on small bugs.
Pokédex Entry #19 – Rattata, the Mouse Pokémon. It has impressive vitality that allows it to live anywhere there is food. It scavenges for food all day and reproduces quickly. Very cautious, it’s ears listen for trouble even when asleep. It’s teeth never stop growing, it will gnaw on things to keep their size in check.
Pokédex Entry #52 – Meowth, the Scratch Cat Pokémon. During the night Meowth are known to sneak around stealthily in search of prey and shiny objects which it adores with a passion. During the day, Meowth is known to laze around all day. In the dark, its eyes glow.
Pokédex Entry #403 – Shinx, the Flash Pokémon. When its muscles extend or contract, it generates electricity. When it senses danger, a Shinx will let the electricity run through it, causing it to glow. If threatened, it uses its muscles to flash a bright light to blind the predator while it flees.
Pokédex Entry #509 – Purrloin, the Devious Pokémon. It puts up a cute act to fool humans around it. It loves stealing things for fun and will act cute in order to make people forgive it. If endangered, it will counter-attack with sharp claws.
Pokédex Entry #191 – Sunkern, the Seed Pokémon. Most famous for occasionally dropping out of the sky in the morning. It drinks only dewdrops from under the leaves of plants. If attacked, it will violently shake its leaves. They’re immobile, gathering energy for evolution, which happens either after exposure to enough sunlight or by Sun Stone.
Pokédex Entry #506 – Lillipup, the Puppy Pokémon. The hair on its face senses extremely subtle changes in atmosphere and can be used as a radar. It’s known to bravely face off against terrible odds, but also to run away from battles it cannot win.
Pokédex Entry #23 – Ekans, the Snake Pokémon. It stealthily sneaks through grass to prey on small animals and bird-eggs. When born, it is short and has no poison, but the poison develops and it grows longer as it gets older. When it sleeps, it wraps itself around a tree to safely sleep high up from the ground.
Pokédex Entry #58 – Growlithe, the Puppy Pokémon. Known to be brave and loyal to it’s trainer, but will bark threateningly at anyone entering its territory. It has superb sense of smell and will never forget a smell once it has picked up on it. Through smell, it can sense the emotions of others.
Pokédex Entry #223 – Remoraid, the Jet Pokémon. Using its dorsal fin as a suction pad, it clings to a Mantine’s underside to scavenge for leftovers. It is capable to suck in water and expel it with its abdominal muscles to shoot down flying prey. It has exceptional accuracy, capable of hitting moving targets more than 300 feet away.
Eryn would not take any particular damage. Her team’s doing fine.
Eryn was victorious! Eryn gained 460 P for winning! Eryn was victorious! Eryn gained 212 P for winning! Eryn was victorious! Eryn gained 331 P for winning! Eryn was victorious! Eryn gained 7 P for winning! Eryn was victorious! Eryn gained 673 P for winning!
Tula grew to level 10! Erebi grew to level 10!
Next target!
'Huh? You want to battle?' a tiny preschooler that looked like an easy target asked, looking up at Eryn. He looked a little confused. 'Um. Sure. If you’d like to,' he told, giving her a little smile.
Elite Four Loke would like to battle!
…
Loke threw a Pokéball onto the ground, and a decently large floating metal construct with two giant clawed arms floated up into the air between her and the little kid.
'Metang!'
Pokédex Entry #375 – Metang, the Iron Claw Pokémon. When two Beldum fuse together, Metang is formed. The brains of the Beldum are joined by a magnetic nervous system. By linking its brains magnetically, this Pokémon generates strong psychokinetic power. Its body is tough, one famously survived a crash with a jet plane without a scratch.
'I am Loke. “The Knight” of the Trainers’ School Elite Four…' the tiny kid said in a tiny, child’s voice. 'Shall we… not?' Loke asked, giving this super-friendly smile towards her.
If she took him on, she’d be destroyed. Seems like preying on those that look weak in the Pokémon World does not always work out. So, that lesson learned, moving on.
Instead…!
'Hey, you!'
A girl with a fierce ponytail and red jacket approached with a determined smirk from the school building.
'I saw you through the window. You’re targeting those you think are easy marks, ain’t ya? Well, I’m taking slight offense to that! Only slight, so you’ll get off easy, but you WILL have to face me in a Pokémon battle! I’m rank #23, Leanne, of Trainers’ School! Take me on!'
Wannabe Cooltrainer Leanne wants to battle!
Pokédex Entry #453 – Croagunk, the Toxic Mouth Pokémon. Its cheeks hold poison sacks. It tries to catch foes off guard and jab them with toxic fingers. It rarely fights fairly, in order to ensure survival. While poisonous, the fluids from its fingers are significant ingredients in multiple remedies.
Knows Astonish, Mud-Slap, Poison Sting, Taunt and Rock Smash. Leanne’s hot-tempered, likely to go for what she thinks does the most damage at all times. This is often Rock Smash, which she taught Croagunk with a TM. Beware Poison Touch, this Pokémon can poison you upon contact!
Pokédex Entry #422 – Shellos, the Sea Slug Pokémon. It lives along along bodies of water. Its shape and coloration differ greatly depending on habitat and region. If a strong force is applied to its squishy body, a mysterious purple fluid oozes out.
Knows Mud-Slap, Mud Sport, Harden, Water Pulse and Mud Bomb. Better be ready to dodge Water Pulses! Or Mud Bombs, in case of Tula. Storm Drain draws in all Water-moves, won’t have effect.
Pokédex Entry #136 – Flareon, the Flame Pokémon. An Eevee evolved by a Fire Stone. A flame sac evolved into its body. Its average body-temperature is around 1400 degrees Fahrenheit, but when it blows out fire it can reach 3000. Constantly heating its surroundings, it has been used for warming houses during winter. Rare to see in nature.
Knows Helping Hand, Tackle, Tail Whip, Sand Attack and Ember. Guess once what Leanne’s favorite is. Has Tackle for Dei. Flash Fire would power it up if hit with a fire-type move.
Princess came out, and flew high while also throwing down Gust-based Sand Attacks. Stefan jumped back a bit and took it carefully, as this most recent challenger was stirring up the battlefield for him, making it hard to see and most assuredly making it hard to hit her as Princess was flying way overhead.
‘Hooo… Okay, that’s a trick… but…’ Yvonne said, as Erza commanded Princess to dive down at the now a bit more blinded Absol. Thooouuugh… ‘Stefan! Quick Attack!’
With that command, Stefan vanished from in front of Princess, ran around in a circle and hit her from the side, the deprived accuracy not making itself known as Stefan ran about and hit pretty well regardless. Princess fought pretty well, but with Stefan knowing Quick Attack, which was just Tackle but bloody superior, there wasn’t much Princess could do in this battle. Another two Quick Attacks, and Stefan would have knocked Princess out.
‘… Yeah, with that, I think I can announce myself the victor. Sorry about that, but I really needed to vent a little, hahahaha…’ Yvonne told, unable to keep herself from smiling.
If Erza can come up with some crazy plan to win here, he can go ahead and try it.
Otherwise, he can continue the post-battle talk if that appeals to him.
Or just head back to the Pokémon Center, because assumingly, that’s what he’d be doing next.
Anyways. What does Erza want to do?
If he still wants to Route 15…
Route 15
Both above images describe Route 15. Route 15 is the reason why Redcoast is called Redcoast, as the beaches became one of the most celebrated spots to view the red sky of the sunset in the west. Long rolling beaches of sand spread out across where the water touches the ground, minus where the dock of Redcoast is placed. Here, plenty of rocks and Pokémon adorn the sandy coastline. Here be crabs, most assuredly, as well as a whole bunch of trainers on vacation enjoying the sea, laughing, bathing with family and Pokémon, enjoying their vacations and warm waters.
Stretching out west is the sea, and all of its bounties. However, the main reason why one would choose to take to the sea here is because of the island directly west of Redcoast City, called the Sacred Ground. All Pokémon infesting the waters aside, the island is said to be a beautiful paradise on earth where any visitor can relax and feel calm… yet years ago, Team Virtue blockaded access to the island, and now multiple cruisers under their control patrol the waters, trainers and their Pokémon placed upon these mighty boats as they keep a look-out for Team Amethyst, supposedly. They deny all civilians trying to set foot on the Sacred Ground, and those who would try to force their way in will have a Pokémon battle on their hands.
9. Yvonne. Yeah, she still here.

Frans looked on with interest as Claire brought out her Pokédex and called Kalmia. A couple of seconds later…
'Hi, Claire! What’s up?' Kalmia asked from the other side. She then listened to the problem, going a bit ‘Hi, Ralia~’ to Ralia when she called, and then spent a couple of seconds in silence as she considered. 'Yeah, I see it, it says here you caught a Bronzor. I also got Del here, currently on the PC. But he caught the Bronzor and it registered as yours, and you can’t trade to him? Okay.' There was some noise on the other side.
'I assume the guy has a Trainer Card? It’s a bit hard without one…' Kalmia asked, and Frans quickly reached into his pocket and retrieved his card, showing his name and registration and such, along with the fact he has all 18 of Isson’s badges.
'… Then that’s honestly really weird. It should work as normal. The only thing I could think of would be if someone actually programmed a block on that the Pokéballs can’t connect to that particular trainer, but that’s conspiracy-level weirdness. Why would someone even do that? More like, who could even do that? Yeah, no, I’m a bit out of ideas…'
… In front of her, however, Frans has gone a bit pale.
‘… Uh. Um. Th-thank you for your help. That’ll… that’ll be enough,’ Frans said, turning around a bit. ‘… Er, I guess this one is still officially yours, so, uh, look after him for now?’ Frans said, handing over Bronzor’s Pokéball. On account of the Pokémon not belonging to Frans, the nickname didn’t register. ‘You can keep the rewards. You brought something interesting to light, after all. I’m going to go have a talk with my father…’ Frans said, giving Claire a bit of a pained smile.
‘… See, he’s the owner of the Pokéball Factory…’
That said, Frans intends to wander off towards Route 13 with Parvati gently drifting above him. Route 13 was the route on which the Private Palace, Frans’ home, was located.
What would Claire do?
In case she wants to go do something else.
Route 10
Route 10 is a route dedicated to the sustenance of the largest city in Isson, as well as in large part the other nearby larger cities. Throughout the route, depths of wet farmland stretch under an uncertain sky, where crops grow with unprecedented strength, supported by the might of Pokémon. The air is moist, the plants grow well, and the farmers walk around under the influence of Psychic powers. The roads in Route 10 lead in all directions, the Crossing over the waters beside Worldedge City to the Northern Landmass, through the Mountain Valley to Stillwood Village, or simply west or south to reach the farther areas.
The Pokémon walking about the fields are Drowzees, yet the air has quite a few birds. There are Spearows and Taillows gliding about feasting on the bugs these farmlands naturally attract. Digletts are used to tilt the earth to create the optimal environment for farming, Bronzongs float about causing the occasional shower of water, with Bronzors being trained to eventually evolve and join their number. Here and there walks a happy Mr. Mime or a Mime Jr., the older ones creating shields around the crops and the younger ones trying to mimic them and failing. It's quite clear from the mystical air that this is very much considered quite close to Worldedge City still.
There were a bunch of farmers in the fields as well, looking over the Pokémon and the potential threats.
Pokédex Entry #21 – Spearow, the Tiny Bird Pokémon. It eats bugs in grassy areas. It cannot fly very high, but uses its wings to blow insects out of grass for easy pickings. It’s very territorial, and its reckless nature means it will stand up to even far tougher opponents to defend its claim. It has a loud cry it uses to warn other of its kind of danger.
Pokédex Entry #276 – Taillow, the Tiny Swallow Pokémon. Many Taillows are young, just leaving the nest, and may cry in loneliness at night. It feeds off bugs and crops in forests and plains. It’s a very gutsy Pokémon, known to bravely take on tough foes. It likes warmer climates and will migrate during cold seasons.
Pokédex Entry #50 – Diglett, the Mole Pokémon. They live underground and spend most of their time submerged. It’s weak to light, and will only pop up where shielded or in caves. They often exist a mere yard underground eating roots. They’re often raised on farms, because soil dug through by Digletts is left perfectly tilled for growing healthy crops.
Pokédex Entry #436 – Bronzor, the Bronze Pokémon. They were found in ancient tombs, and implements shaped like them are too. Ancient people seem to believe the pattern on their back had mysterious powers. They are closely related to mirrors in ancient writing, yet no surface of it is properly reflective. X-raying it, there’s nothing inside.
Pokédex Entry #437 – Bronzong, the Bronze Bell Pokémon. It caused a buzz when it was first dug up at a construction site after 2000 years. Dug up from the ground, these Pokémon were in ancient times revered as a bringer of rain and plentiful harvest. It can summon rain clouds, allegedly by opening portals to another world, it is said.
Pokédex Entry #439 – Mime Jr., the Mime Pokémon. It likes to gather among people. It’s known to mimic the expressions and motions of others in an attempt to understand them. In battle, it mimics its opponent in an attempt to confuse it, before quickly dashing off while they’re confused.
Pokédex Entry #122 – Mr. Mime, the Barrier Pokémon. A master pantomime, it practices constantly. It generates a mystic force from its fingers, creating an actual invisible wall by stopping air-molecules. Should it be disturbed during its act, it slaps with its broad, powerful palms. It enjoys conning people.
The cooperation here appeared to be that Digletts make the earth ready for harvest, the Bronzongs spawned the rain that gave the crops energy, and the Mr. Mimes defended the crops from things that would eat it. Then the Drowzees in Worldedge City were just so plentiful that the farmers put them to work wielding tools with their psychic abilities despite knowing their dreams are going to be so completely eaten come night.
And that’s how Route 10 worked.
1. Find Pokémon. Can be specified what kind of Pokémon is being searched for, and how you search. 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Seek trainers. There are people around, travellers going along Route 10 towards Freecape or Raremine, or just the farmers exists too. 4. Talk. People can be chatted with. 5. Move along. Move along normally, letting any events that may come happen naturally. 6. Hurry along. Intentionally avoid confrontations and try to get safely to the next destination. 7. Specify. Paradise, while unable to battle, had recovered enough to commit to this little task. Ralts stared at her in a bit of awe when she offered her head for Ralts to ride on. It took a moment's consideration, but Ralts got on and looked amazed as he was transported down to the ground. Finally down there, he turned towards Skylar and considered a bit. But, Skylar's good intentions were crystal clear to the empathic Pokémon, and… yeah, he had already decided. With a little smile, Ralts called out to Skylar.
‘Ralts!’
Gender: ♂ Type: Psychic/Fairy Personality: (Up to player.) Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: (Up to player.) Level: 9 Moves: Growl, Confusion, Double Team, Teleport Ability: Trace. Copies the opponent’s ability. Held Item: None.
New Pokémon caught! Skylar earned 1500 P!
Would you like to give a nickname to Ralts?
Meanwhile, Celebrity moved on to stare at Rotom. Rotom turned and curiously stared back. Rotom chuckled at her, and was totally ready to threaten with a couple sparks… when Celebrity went and pulled out the microphone. Rotom blinked at her a little in surprise. Then it was time to start singing.
'ROTO-!' Rotom spun and tried to fly away, but the Sing (which is a single-target move) soundwaves caught up to the ghost and the electric possessed washing machine promptly fell asleep. Vivia stepped up then and pulled Rotom’s Pokéball, calling back the sleeping Pokémon somewhere he could take a nice, long nap.
'… Thanks,' Vivia said, breathing out a bit, looking to Celebrity, and then reaching down to pat her a bit more, because perhaps she liked that.
Anyways. Skylar’s action now? And perhaps Valen’s, as well?
They’re currently at the Silent Shrine, primarily for praying or heading back to Highhill Town. Or Northern Silent Forest to the north and Southern Silent Forest to the south. Lorette’s still around close enough, too, frankly. Shrine Maiden of this place, and all.
‘I said that at worst I'd be interpreted as an extremist, I didn't say I was one,’ Roderick corrected, sounding a mite bit frustrated. ‘You're naive if you think the forces of the world are balanced. It does not concern me, I'll simply deal with the problems as they come. Yveltal being a problem? I'll deal with it. Xerneas becoming a problem as a result? I’ll deal with that. Arceus having a problem with me messing with his balance? Then by my title as the Boss of Team Virtue, I'll deal with him, too!’
‘Deal with him!’ Chatot repeated.
Then, however, there was Hydreigon sneaking up on Cresselia as she was charging her moonblast. However, Cresselia was not so unaware as to not notice. Her objective might be Darkrai, but she was still a Psychic-type on a battlefield. Noting Hydreigon approaching, Cresselia spun about in mid-air and sent her beam hurling back towards Hydreigon. However, this was a hurried move with a beam that typically needed to be calm, Hydreigon was experienced enough to see the signs and dodge a direct hit… but the sheer power of the beam meant even a near miss still showered Hydreigon in fairy-type offensive energy, dealing Super Effective damage x4. Hydreigon was certainly on his last legs after that.
This meant, though, that if Bisharp was still thrown he was free to make an attack on Cresselia, as there was no moonblast to deflect.
Pangoro did his Earthquake, and- ‘Oh, darn-’ Roderick was quickly grabbed by Archeops as the ground beneath him gave way. Being that the Earthquake wasn't aimed directly at any Pokémon it didn't damage anyone, but it literally levelled the playing field as the walls of the crypt came tumbling down, Luxray stylishly jumping down from a large rock, Roderick carried down by Archeops and Chatot while Oscar came rolling down with his arms around his Smeargle protecting the Pokémon from the ordeal.
By this point the room was covered in a cloud of dust from the falling debris, the girl behind Amelia had given a slight noise of distress thinking the whole tomb was going to come crashing down on them. However, everyone seemed unharmed, save the archeologists that just woke up in a cold sweat.
Now Joshua and Amelia started talking ceasefire.
‘I'd be hesitant to let you be his trainer. After all your drivel I wouldn't be surprised if you let Darkrai freely put people into eternal nightmares because “it's in his nature”,’ Roderick told, ‘and I'd hardly call this situation “for no reason”...’ Roderick said… but then sighed. ‘... However, I can tell both our sides are battling for some sort of justice, and champions of justice should not fight. That said, Cresselia may not see it that way…’
Meanwhile up above, Cresselia may or may not have been attacked by Bisharp, but for the sake of this continued scene she was able to keep the critter from climbing on her. That was, however, when Dawkin activated the Pokéball, attempting to return Cresselia to it… and while energy shimmered around the legendary, it was as if she simply refused the Pokéball's call. Cresselia spun towards Dawkin, glaring something akin to cold murder, and headed to fly towards him…!
Now, Cresselia’s only intention was to nab away the staff from Dawkin, though it was likely he’d mistake her intentions. Not that they’d ever be clarified.
… Because that's when Darkrai appeared, blocking the way between Dawkin and Cresselia. To Joshua and Amelia, Darkrai had just suddenly taken off at high speed when Dawkin had attempted to call Cresselia back. Cresselia wavered, faced with her rival, whose gaze squarely told he didn't like the way she had looked at Dawkin. Cresselia backed off, but quickly started charging another Moonblast…!
Darkrai snapped his fingers, and a small light emitted from his hand.
Cresselia recoiled, stunned, as a small light show of energy danced around her before vanishing.
That, was Disable.
Cresselia's Moonblast was Disabled!
Unable to suddenly perform her only effective attack, Cresselia panicked, looking down into the tomb as if for help. As soon as she realized that she wouldn’t be getting any, the Psychic legendary suddenly blasted away at far too quick a speed for any normal being to catch up to. The once again wild Cresselia soared off into the heavens.
‘… Let me get this straight,’ Roderick spoke, looking up at where that exchange just happened. ‘In the great natural balance of things Arceus preordained, Cresselia and Darkrai battle for our dreams…’ He looked at Joshua. ‘… and Cresselia finds herself a Psychic-type meant to balance out in a fight against a Dark-type?’ … He shook his head a bit, regardless of the answer to that.
‘Regardless. I am willing to overlook Darkrai's departure from this tomb if he does so as someone's partner. However, let me make clear. If I hear that Darkrai's been putting people into those never-ending nightmares of his… I'll find you, and I'll do what I do best.’
So Roderick said, his Chatot landing on his shoulder and nodding, while behind him Oscar was picking himself up and giving his Smeargle a hand. Didn’t look like he’d been able to draw much.
Darkrai descended down into the crypt again, placing himself in the center of the room, his might obvious as the legendary Pokémon set himself down after Cresselia had been driven off. He was facing Joshua now. Well, then.
One thing, first, however. The likes of Darkrai couldn’t just join anyone. They’d have to prove themselves worthy of him. Honestly, it’s Pokémon tradition, so please don’t consider it unnecessary violence and try to negotiate as to why he should join without a fight. Darkrai floated in the middle of the room, looking towards the one who would want to call himself “the Trainer of Darkrai”.
Dawkin will have his power-up for at least a bit longer.
‘…’ The girl from earlier is still standing here, Abra on her shoulder, camera in hand, snapping a picture of Darkrai. She probably got one of Cresselia earlier, too. Yupp.
1. Find Pokémon. Can be specified what kind of Pokémon is being searched for, and how you search. 2. Train Pokémon. With this command, we can jump ahead in time and skip posting about grinding. 3. Intentionally avoid confrontations and try to get safely to the next destination. 7. Specify. If you specify what you want to do, the GM will take it into account and tell the result. 8. Trigger random event. Force the GM to use his imagination to make a scenario for you.
Connected areas: Route 7. The desert is right outside.
‘Y-yeah, I know all that,’ Frans said, looking flustered. ‘But we did things correctly! In the first place, the Pokéball should have automatically understood when the Great Ball was handed over to me, and even after that when you handed over the ball it should have understood that you did it with the intention to trade...’ Possible crime-strategies that might abuse a system where "just hand the Pokéball over" is an acceptable way to trade Pokémon aside.
Castform went into battle, casting Powder Snow! The ice hit Stefan from the front as the Absol hunted forth to attack Castform. Castform couldn’t avoid the Pursuit, and took a notable amount of damage, but Castform held tight. He unleashed another Powder Snow into Stefan! … However, the Absol remained unfrozen, and he jumped in for another Pursuit, which took out the last of Castform’s health, and Castform fainted.
Stefan, now obviously damaged, stood with his side towards Erza and gave him a mildly annoyed glare with the eye on that side. Got any more? … He seemed to ask.
‘Ha-ha-ha…! … Ah, I guess that was a bit unfair of me, I just had to take out my frustrations on someone… Sorry~!’ Yvonne stated, smirking so proudly. She didn’t look very sorry.
‘Huh?’ Frans looked considerably confused, as Claire pointed out that Tez was still in her party. In fact, he looked magnificently wide-eyed, Parvati floating about with a similar expression.
‘Excuse me for not entirely getting it, but what do you mean?’ Frans asked, wanting her to tell him a bit more about that.
Firstly, it was Hunter VS Jeffrey, Growlithe VS Snubbull. Jeffrey indeed started out dashing in for the Bite, and Hunter replied with an Ember in the face. Jeffrey was hurt, but not out of it yet, and hounded in for Bites while Hunter bit back and interchanged with Embers. However, one of Hunter’s Bites turned into a Critical Hit and he won the first encounter rather handedly, though he only has around 33% health left.
Hunter grew to level 10! Hunter learned Odor Sleuth!
‘Ugh,’ Yvonne made a frustrated noise, but kept focused all the same.
Secondly, Vee VS Joline, Eevee VS Tynamo. Turns out Joline was faster, and wasted no time blasting a Thunder Wave at Vee, promptly paralyzing him. Here Erza’s luck took a turn for the worse, as Vee couldn’t move due to paralyzation. Joline blasted a Charge Beam, hitting Vee with an electric blast that increased her Special Attack, and Vee still couldn’t move. Vee was hit by another Charge Blast, and Joline’s special attack went up further, but now finally Vee got loose and managed to hit into Joline with an increased-power move from Adaptability, doing considerable damage. … Unfortunately, Vee went down to the next Charge Beam, which increased Joline’s Special Attack for the third time.
‘There you go! Well done, Joline!’ Yvonne happily called to her Tynamo.
Now. Casform VS Joline. No weather here, so it’s normal Castform. Castform dodged a Charge Blast on the way and struck Joline with a Tackle. Joline counter with a +3 Charge Blast into Castform’s face, that did more than half of his health… but Castform finished the job with a Tackle of his own, taking down the Tynamo. Castform is left with 46% health.
Castform grew to level 11!
‘Ack. Ah, you did well,’ Yvonne complimented her Pokémon, before locking eyes with Erza. ‘You’ve done well so far, but now you’re up against the coolest Pokémon west of Worldedge! C’mon, Stefan!’
And so, Stefan the Absol VS Extraordinary the Duskull. Stefan went forth and with Pursuit right off the bat…! … Aaaaaaaaand took out Extraordinary in a single Super Effective blow, Stefan turning around with a snort and calmly walking back to his trainer with closed eyes after finishing.
‘You’re so cool, Stefan!’ Yvonne called eagerly. ‘Feeling like giving up, yet!?’ she then taunted Erza.
By the battle plan, Erza now went to Hunter. He sent an Ember Stefan’s way, which hit and did some damage… before Stefan finished that battle too, with a Pursuit move that struck out hunter’s remaining health after the battle with Jeffrey.
‘Hahaha… I already knew, but isn’t Stefan just the best!?’ Yvonne boasted, as Stefan was once again calmly walking back to his side of the battlefield to expect the next opponent.
When Eryn moved back and started talking, Eryn(?) stopped somewhat close to the door into Kalmia’s residence, listening to what Eryn had to say while Pumpkaboo still stood like to defend her. When Eryn said the part of having wanted to be trainer together and wouldn’t have Eryn(?) stealing the spotlight, Eryn(?) looked down, perhaps a little guilty. She listened to the next part while looking down into the floor, but then Eryn offered to bring her along. Eryn(?) looked up at her, a bit surprised, her attention certainly captured. However, yeah, just as Eryn recognized herself, Eryn(?)’s gaze wandered to her companions, Pumpkaboo and Cascoon, the overgrown pumpkin standing to defend her still while Cascoon looked up at her curiously. Eryn addressed that, too, which ultimately left Eryn(?) looking down at Cascoon and Pumpkaboo, the latter of them now turning to look back at his trainer.
Eryn(?) took a bit of time. She went from looking down at her Pokémon to looking up into the ceiling… and then started slowly shaking her head-
-when she was pushed forward by what appeared to be nothing, Eryn(?) stumbling a bit before her Phantump exited through her back, having been inside Eryn(?)’s body. Eryn looked back in surprise, and the stump-ghost Pokémon just gave her a little smile.
‘Phantump!’ Phantump said, looking happily towards her. Pumpkaboo and Cascoon exchanged a look, too, before looking to Eryn(?) as well.
‘Pumpka!’ Pumpkaboo said, also giving a smile from the little mouth over the main pumpkin part below the eyes. Cascoon merely looked on, no objections.
Eryn(?) looked at them somewhat in surprise, then looked over at Kalmia. Kalmia smiled in return.
'Don’t worry. I’ll look after them if you wish. Escort them back, safely, if they so wish. Regardless, this side is handled,' the professor assured, a little wave with her hand. Eryn(?) looked back at her Pokémon once more, and they gave her assuring nods.
‘You’re awesome!’ Phantump encouraged with a smile, perfectly copying what Eryn recognized as the voice of Youngster Kale, who’d she just fought this morning.
'Ooh, that’s the voice I heard,' Kalmia mused, smiling.
Eryn(?) looked at her companions for a bit longer, coming to terms with what they were encouraging her to do. Then finally, Eryn(?) sighed, and turned to look at Eryn.
Eryn(?) looked a bit awkward, but then closed her eyes. Then all the colours that made up her body molded together, darkness enveloping Eryn(?)’s body. The dark form started changing, becoming smaller, the shape of the being before Eryn changing before her eyes. Finally, it took the shape of a much smaller creature. Colours returned, and in the place where Eryn(?) had stood was now a small quadruped Pokémon with black fur and red accents, looking towards Eryn with determination.
'Zorua,' the Pokémon said.
Pokédex Entry #570 – Zorua, the Tricky Fox Pokémon. To protect itself from danger, it uses illusions to disguise itself as people or other Pokémon. While it can take the form of another, it cannot make their sounds or use their moves. It often takes the shape of a child, so if you’ve found a child that’s seemingly mute, chances are it’s a Zorua.
And, of course, if Eryn chooses to bring Zorua along…
Eryn recruited Zorua!
Gender: ♂ (“Her” was only because he’d taken your female form) Type: Dark Personality: (Up to player.) Quirks/Talents/Aspirations/Other: (Up to player.) Level: 9 Moves: Scratch, Leer, Pursuit, Fake Tears Ability: Illusion. Can take the shape of people and Pokémon, even while inside a Pokéball. The effect is broken when taking damage. Held Item: None.
New Pokémon caught! Eryn earned 2000 P!
Would you like to give a nickname to Zorua?
Pumpkaboo shook off the backpack on his back, and Cascoon extended a couple needles to poke the top open, and the two Pokémon pushed the contents forward at Eryn.
‘Pumpkaboo?’ Pumpkaboo asked, while offering the three Pokéballs that were in the bag. Now, regardless of what Eryn might assume, it’s mainly just because the wild Pokémon are not going to need them so Eryn can take them with her.
Eryn received 3 Pokéballs!
'Well, this has been interesting,' Kalmia said, and turned towards Phantump. 'I assume the mask was to disguise that it was actually you who were speaking?'
‘Phantump!’ Phantump called, proud.
'I see. Well, then,' Kalmia simply said, now to look at Eryn and whatever she intended on doing next.
If she’d be leaving, here’s Pureplain City.
Pureplain City is placed on the south-west brink of Isson, with the town facing the water and spreading quite far. The further in-town you go, the higher the buildings become, but the suburbs spread quite far. In terms of sheer landmass, it might even compete with Worldedge City, although maybe not in height. Life passes normally within this city. Children grow up alongside their parents in houses in the long, friendly streets. Jobs come from the depths of the town in the taller buildings. Schools grow from the reasonably high amount of children in need of tuition. And of course, there are lots of Pokémon.
In Pureplain City, human and Pokémon work together. Be it for manual labour or just for company, Pureplain houses often contain at least one house-hold Pokémon and there are many Trainer's Schools around the city have always been plentifully attended, not counting the recent drop of embarking trainers due to the Team Wars. In addition, Pureplain Harbor is known as the “Gateway of Isson”, as that’s where all the ferries from outside the region dock, giving life to quite the marketplace. A common attraction of the city is the Super Contest stage, but other than that, Pureplain remains what it has always been. Pure and plain.

‘With other words, the information you collected was absolutely useless,’ Lea commented, her arms crossed.
‘Yupp! It was fun, though!’ Mayra grinned happily, the hole in her stomach Tonya caused patched up by now.
It was within Mariette’s mansion, inside the meeting room. There were only seven of the girls present, however. Lea, Mayra, Freya, Suzette, Josefin, Taihei and Mariette herself.
‘She supported in the battle against the Horror growing into being. As did you, by taming the winds. You saved a whole lot of lives, Lea,’ Mariette commented, looking at Lea.
‘If the city was excessively damaged or abandoned, it would be troublesome for us,’ Lea dismissed her claim, no good intentions involved in the action.
‘Regardless. It seems the threat was contained. Fortunate, that we didn’t need to engage in battle to save the city.’ Mariette had been prepared to call in her full power on the rising threat, but as it turned out Penrose was strong enough to handle it themselves. Good, a battle between the forces of two Horrors could have turned out disastrous.
‘Freya, everything good on your end?’ Mariette asked, looking to her monster-girl companion with long, furred snake-tail instead of legs as well as furred claws for hands, yet human torso for some reason.
‘The mission was successful. No complications,’ Freya declared, calmly. To her right stood a smiling Suzette, who had helped with the mission.
‘Yeah, with the storms and graveyard distracting everyone, it was easier to move, and with me around we could avoid everyone thinking like us, taking advantage of the situation,’ Suzette boasted, confident of her abilities.
‘Well done. Taihei? How did your thing go?’ Mariette asked.
‘Ambushed by a laser-guided tornado, but the deal was otherwise successful,’ Taihei told, looking none the worse for wear.
‘It was a bit chaotic there for a bit, but we got it sorted out!’ Josefin assured, looking a bit panicked to give the report but still doing it.
‘Well, she finished the deal, I just made sure to help out with my absence,’ Taihei said, the aquatic monster-girl looking away. … Yeah, Taihei was difficult to deploy, on account of that horrific bad luck of hers… Still, they had to use her. After all, there were things only Taihei could do.
‘Taihei. I have a specific request for you,’ Mariette told. Taihei raised her chin to look back at Mariette for this. ‘We have multiple opponents capable of searching through the minds of nearby people. We need some form of protection against this mental intrusion. Can we trust you to design it?’
‘Pah. We’re going to have to carry Taihei’s stuff on us for protection? Her luck’s going to kill us!’ Suzette complained from a distance.
‘Relax. There is no proof that Taihei’s items inherit her misfortune,’ Lea told, looking over at Suzette. Suzette looked disappointed.
‘… Fueh. Knowing this takes the fun out of it,’ Suzette said, looking over at Lea with a tired look. ‘… You mean me being shot while carrying her protective artifact was all me? Geh.’
‘Still! It’s great for us! Right, Taihei?’ Josefin said, positively shining at Taihei. Taihei still looked back at Mariette.
‘I already have one of those for myself. I suppose I can make a few more. Just give me some time, and I’ll have one for each of us,’ Taihei said, turning around and leaving the room.
‘Wait, hold on, I’m coming along!’ Josefin said, hurrying to keep up with Taihei.
‘I’m gonna go, too! I’m not done hanging out in town~!’ Mayra called, giving a salute and headed out, Mariette letting her go.
‘… So, what now?’ Freya asked Mariette.
‘Hm. Yeah, what now?’ Mariette asked as well, patting the bunny in her grip. ‘To start with, there’s a person I’ve delayed meeting…’
Overcast skies pressed down upon the world below, overbearing clouds hanging with uncommon gravity. Few people were out on the street at this time of day, the largely suburban area devoid of activity. A few cars streamed by, and some retirees worked on their gardens, but that was all. That was nice.
No one noticed then, when a raven-haired girl stepped out from the shadow of a telephone pole, dressed in attire that could only be considered gothic. Her eyes, obsidian chips, turned slowly to survey the area, before she soundlessly strode on. The destination had already been pre-programmed, and with confidence that stemmed from machine-like precision and recall, she strode down the street to a tarp-covered building. ‘Opening Soon’, it said, but none of the ignorant would notice it regardless. A confirmation request was sent to the Owner, and after a response was sent, the girl blinked.
The order was given.
She balled up her right hand and punched the door.
Knock.
The shop was incorporated into one of the upper floors of one of the buildings fairly close to the center of the city. It’s a floor that no stairs go to, the main and only entrance is from the balcony as to prevent the average member of the public from strolling in, but having landed on said balcony the signs were as clear as day as to the nature of this shop. Brittany Todd’s Magical Market, Opening Soon. There’d be a magical signpost here that announced its location to the magical denizens of Penrose when the time came, but for now, one had to know where it was to find it.
Within, a Magical Girl in witch-like attire excitedly ran around about hanging up her magical trinkets onto displays as well as writing and rewriting price tags over and over reconsidering multiple times, a wide smile on her lips, a purple ball of a floating creature with eyes, small limbs and a hanging mouth stalking behind her monotonously… until there was a knock on the door. She stopped short for a bit, looking curiously at the door, and then ran over to open it. The eyes of the Magical Girl practically glowed as she saw someone unknown outside.
‘Oh, hiiiiiiiii! Welcome to Brittany Todd’s Magical Market! I love the eagerness, but me and Agatha aren’t quite ready yet!’ Brittany started, smiling so brightly.
‘ ’ Agatha, the floating ball that was Brittany’s lesser force patron, said.
‘Still! How can I help you?’ Brittany asked, grinning and holding onto the door.
The gothic girl did not blink. She did not nod. She did not smile. She did not breathe. She said, in a voice inflectionless and emotionless, “I derive no small amount of moral pleasure from supporting local businesses, and would like to offer you a variety of wares to augment your current stock of arcane trinkets, if you are so inclined.”
‘Oh!?’ Brittany’s eyes widened and she took a step back for a moment looking up at the girl. Then she spun to Agatha, grabbing the tiny hands of the floating ball with glee. ‘Did you hear that, Agatha? She wants to support us! I’m so happy!’
‘ ’ Agatha said.
‘Well, then,’ Brittany grinned, spinning back to the girl, her eyes shining a bit. ‘I’d be overjoyed to have your support! Come in! Oooh, we need to discuss this at length!’ she called, spinning back inside her shop to run to the table where a whole lot of magical items, some of which are explosive, were just lying about. She pushed a number aside to make room for other things on the table, then excitedly seated herself opposite of where she was clearly offering the girl to sit, Brittany excitedly leaning forward on her elbows as she watched her.
The gothic girl followed after Brittany. Momentarily, her irises burned silver, scanning over the disarray of magical artifacts, before blinking back into coal black. Taking the offered seat, she pulled out a small matchbox, sliding it open. It was empty.
“To begin with, let us confirm: what items do you mainly house within this establishment? Do you seek to have the widest selection possible, or do you desire specialization instead?” Questions curled out between those fine lips as if read off a manuscript, the girl’s eyes focused on nothing in particular.
‘Oh, I sell EVERYTHING!’ Brittany exaggerated proudly. ‘The idea is that I’ll sell stuff that’ll help magical girls or others in their fights against monsters and whatnot, but honestly, if it’s magical and I can get my hands on it, I’ll sell it!’ So the girl said, grinning happily, Agatha floating beside her head looking at their visitor.
If the gothic girl was taken aback by Brittany’s proud proclamations, she didn’t show it. Rather, she said, “Understood. We will begin with a sampler set then.”
And from the matchbox, she began to draw out objects one by one, placing each gently onto the table. A silvered arrowhead, thrumming like the plucked strings of a harp. A bottle of living ink, the contents slowly rising up the glass surface, only to seep down again. A mechanical heart, the clockwork gears ticking counterclockwise as it pulsated slowly. Her hand slowly turned so the palm faced upwards.
“Go ahead.”
‘Ooooooh. Okay, Agatha!’ Brittany said with a smile, leaning forward and raising a hand over the items. A bit of power went through her hand and the purple ball floated and looked over the items… and then finally it turned to look at her.
‘ ’ Agatha said.
‘Woah,’ Brittany made an impressed noise over the arrowhead. Then the bottle of ink.
‘S-seriously…!?’ Brittany’s eyes widened a bit, as she retrieved her hand. She looked at the girl a bit in awe.
‘Who are you…?’ she asked, amazed, not one who could withhold her emotions.
The gothic girl’s eyes became of gleaming silver once more, before fading away. No smile, no reflex in the face of the witch’s awe. “I am Dolly, a representative of the Gourd,” she said, dipping her head down slightly. “If you are satisfied with the quality of my Master’s wares, let us discuss their value.”
‘Ooooooh… I’ve heard of the Gourd… Alright,’ Brittany grinned. ‘Okay. What I think they’re worth. If I sold this…’ Brittany looked over at the bolt. ‘… Probably not a gold coin. However, quite a lot anyway. I’d say… 15 silvers, perhaps?’ She then looked over at the ink-bottle. ‘This one is cool, though has a narrow field of application. Let us say 7 or 8 silvers. This one, though…’ Brittany smirked holding her hand over the clockwork heart.
‘This one is universally desirable. One gold, as well as five silvers and ten bronze, perhaps?’ Brittany estimated and asked. She didn’t actually have experience as a shopkeeper, but she was running with her hunches.
“It doesn’t matter what you will sell it for,” Dolly replied, unmoving and unmoved, “We are here to discuss what you will buy it for. We care not for coinage, but rather...what can you offer that can not be obtained elsewhere?”
‘Oh, right, yeah,’ Brittany blinked as she realized she may have gone the wrong direction. ‘So, um. I’m a bit of an alchemist. With the right preparation, I can make you materials that could be hard to come by, otherwise. Um. I did collect a whole bunch of other potentially use- useful loot from monsters and such during my travels, that I could provide you. Otherwise, I have the support of Cindy, a monster-girl with following in-town, who, er, surely could do favors for me in exchange for my continued support, and could as such help you find what you’re looking for. Totally,’ Brittany said, looking at her guest wide-eyed.
‘So, would you like some reaper cloths? Imp claws? Raum talons? Pixie wings? Enhanced orichalcum? I don’t have much of the latter, but I could make more…’ Brittany tried some more concrete keywords, to see how Dolly would react.
There was a pause, an almost inaudible ‘whirring’ passing through the air. Then, Dolly nodded. “The viscera of rare beasts will be sufficient. For now, however, we would like you to acquire something for us. Days ago, Soth attempted a ritual, and though the Horror’s plans failed, there were pieces of it that remained. Obtain for us the Abyss’s ritual implements, prioritizing pieces from their altar.”
Silver gleamed in her eyes again, an uncommon inflection invading the gothic girl’s voice. “Will you be able to do that, Brittany?”
Brittany blinked a bit extra at the request. Surely, anything valuable at the scene would already have been plundered. However… ‘Agatha!’ Brittany briefly requested the help of her patron, holding both her hands into the air. Agatha, purple limbed ball with a face as he was, floated and placed himself in her grasp, before Brittany lowered her hands and held it in front of her. She focused on the ball that was her patron, and in her grasp, he became spherical and spun. Brittany charged her Psychic specialization, using Agatha as the Mystic Artifact he partly represented, and with that her eyes began to mildly glow with the visions she was being provided.
‘… Yeah!’ Brittany called, a little confident smile appearing on her lips. ‘I’ll get it for you. Be it sealed, hidden or even just lying around, I’ll get it for you. Anything that has been left behind, I’ll find it…!’ So she said, the visions still dancing before her eyes as she looked past them at Dolly.
The smile was unnatural, but it was there, the gothic girl nodding her head once more. From the Matchbox, she drew out five more items, laying them down onto the counter. “We will leave you with these then, and if you succeed, will continue to supply you with wares from the Workshop. May chance smile upon you, Brittany.”
With that, Dolly stood up, slid the Matchbox into the folds of her dress, and collapsed into sand. And within a couple of seconds, even that sand turned to nothingness.
The glow of Brittany’s eyes went away as Dolly drew out more items, the shopkeeper girl’s eyes following the items and then up to the girl again with awe as she spoke. Then, Brittany provided a simple, bright grin. ‘Got it! And on you, Dolly! You’re welcome back, anytime~!’ … And then Brittany was startled as Dolly turned into sand, which then also wasted away.
Brittany was quick on her feet, blinking a bit. Okay, first she examined the items she had been given. A few ‘Oooh’ and ‘Aaah’s later she put them away temporarily and checked so the alarm-system magic items she had was in-place on the store. Good. Then… ‘C’mon, Agatha! It’s been a while, but we’re going treasure hunting!’
‘You bet!’ Brittany grinned as she replied, before the two was in a dash out the door to complete the objective they had been given. She was smiling the whole way. This whole store thing was going great! She had multiple suppliers now! Who would have thought!?
@hatakekuro I do remember you. I had to go remind myself, but I do remember.
Unfortunately, I think I'd rather not put more on my plate right now. I'm running late on posts pretty frequently as it is, and have things to do outside of the Roleplayer Guild. I would have liked to let you in, but I think it wouldn't be the responsible thing to do, at the moment.
Thank you for the interest, though. If there's a time when things have calmed down or other players leave for whatever reason, I could come back to you.
