I started RP before double digit age but you couldn't have gotten an admission I was under 18 under threat of death. Kids just casually admiting it online now is wild.

Kalina Kovalic

She sat in the driver's seat, her expression impassive as the truck passed over another pothole. Hm. Judging by the sound, there still wasn't any structural damage. Beyond what was already there when Tony had acquired the truck, of course. Things were fine, then. No reason to slow down. Even in spite of the rest of Barghest Squad whining for no reason.

"Are you volunteering to drive?" Kalina called back in response to Gerard's complaints as she moved her right hand down to shift gears on the truck, keeping an eye on the police band scanner mounted on the dashboard in the corner of her eye. Driving efficiently also meant that they were breaking some speed limits, but they had a timetable to meet. "None of the rest of you are certified for defensive driving if we take fire on the road."

The radio was interrupted with a news broadcast, and Kalina strained her ears over the sound of the engine and the wind to listen in. Censored troop movements in civilian news was nothing new. Peace talks were a joke, but an Imperial Princess...? She raised an eyebrow in thought before the sound of the radio changing back to music interrupted her.

"I was listening to that, you know." Kalina called towards the back again. "Remind me why Command doesn't just assign some Firsts to take that girl hostage. She has to be worth some kind of leverage, doesn't she?"

Renar Hagen

"Tch," Renar didn't let up his glare towards Edwin. "I'll train with whom I'm bid to, though it would be more motivating to spite you. Any idea when they actually begin to intend to instruct us?"

He glanced aside to Gerard for a moment.

"I never did give you the specifics of my little run-in with the most mischaracterized villain in written history, did I? As it turns out, him being a vile arch-traitor is somewhat of an exaggeration by the victors, likely to preserve the fool's own dignity. If Merilla's recollection here is accurate, Edwin was a bloody idiot that threw away everything he'd already had and accomplished for even loftier ideals that had no basis in reality. Somewhere in there is something of an abject lesson, I would think."

Renar gave his friend a meaningful look at that. If anything, Edwin was an example of when not to dream too grandly. Gerard's idealism was fine enough on its own, but only because Gerard knew the way of the world at the end of the day. Edwin tried to force the world to conform to him, and look what happened.

"In any case," He addressed Parvan this time. "This is a dream realm. Do we even feel hunger or require sustenance while we're locked in Merilla's play pen?"

Shinozaki Yurie

What a couple of pricks. Were they seriously not going to answer a single question before sending them off to who knew where? The shades they just suddenly passed out to her were real nice, and Yurie put hers on after a moment's hesitation, but that sure as shit didn't make up for this nonsense. All she knew was that if she ever found this go home item that MagnaAngemon was talking about, she was taking it without hesitation.

Of course, it'd help Yurie's mood if Cameron Mason managed to shut the fuck up. Holy hell, there was no way that was a real person running around screeching about superheroes. Brainless little shit probably thought he had a vapid-ass image to maintain to all his legions of late zoomer and Gen Alpha fans. Her irritation spiked as the angels flashbanged them again, and Yurie barely managed to flip them the bird as she was likely teleported away.

When she opened her eyes next, Yurie was completely unsurprised to see that they were in some generic forest. God, they really were hitting all the isekai tropes one by one here, weren't they?

"This sucks," She groused with a sigh, about to say something further before the pop star unironically started Naruto running and going off on his own. That tore it. Yurie could practically feel a blood vessel about to burst. She opened her mouth to start to bitch him out, but shut it again as some girl just outright landed off him.

"...Snrk." Yurie almost managed to repress her snicker at the sight of the little moron getting exactly what he deserved before turning her eyes to the newcomer. "Right, lemme guess: you clicked on a spam email like the rest of us suckers? Congrats, a bunch of AIs larping as monsters just threw us to the wolves to, and I quote, 'save their world'. By making other AI monsters stronger or something, whatever." She said with air quotes where necessary, rolling her eyes at the thought. "If that makes no sense, you're now just as caught up as us, because that's all they fuckin' told us too. Now, uh, you mind getting off the guy you're on? One sec." She patiently waited for the other girl to do so before squatting down to stare down at Cameron.

"Look, you can drop the whole stage persona, you know. I'll even sign an NDA if we ever make it out of this that I won't blab you can act like a person who doesn't spike the blood pressure of everyone of age to vote." Yurie stood back up, running a hand over her forehead as she looked around. Great. Nothing but trees as far as the eye could see. Might as well get shit out of the way because the angels didn't give them a single second to get their shit together.

"Anyways, most of us don't know each other's names, and it's probably a good idea since those douchebags up top're sticking us together for who knows how long. So I'll start. I'm Yurie Shinozaki, other way around if you're Japanese." A quick glance in the only other Japanese girl's direction.
Iraleth Kyrios

She could at least learn something from a bit of what the others were saying. Otis had some kind of problem of his own with the Leuvalt boy. Or he was just using him as a measuring stick. Good information to know for the future. Chloe was...still a bitch. At the very least, she was more subdued than yesterday.

The lecture began, and Iraleth sat up straight, paying close attention to the material. At least it began to confirm that despite their instructor's faults, Wingram at least knew what it was doing having him teach. Really, this was more complex than Professor Wund was making it out to be. There was a reason that most likely everyone in here didn't quite know how to do this yet. And speaking of,

"I've heard the theory for this at least, but it was never taught in practice. Basic training covered lesser versions of this using light essence." Iraleth confirmed to Professor Wund. Astran magic instruction covered holy barriers, but those were clearly less efficient than simply defending one's flesh.
@Nanaya

Is the PB something any of our characters would be familiar with already?

Also, gonna be stuck on a cruise for a week starting tomorrow, posts will be slow or nonexistent from me most likely.
Iraleth Kyrios

Huh. She'd been expecting someone more...seasoned. Certainly not a teacher only three years older than her. And damned well not someone that tripped over his own two feet so easily. Or were academic types just this naturally scatterbrained overall? Plus he was evidently just having breakfast now. She'd concerned herself over preparing for this? Iraleth managed to keep an incredulous look off her face by virtue of the fact that at the very least, their new teacher's first day syllabus at least seemed sensible.

As for the introduction...was this truly necessary? Most of the people within this room were at least vaguely familiar with each other already. And besides, it just seemed juvenile. Still, this was their assigned instructor. Like it or not, he had authority in this situation. So after Hildegund and Chunji made their introductions, Iraleth dutifully raised her hand for a moment, lowering it once she began speaking.

"Iraleth Kyrios, age nineteen. There exists a local festival that should be taking place in this region within a moon or so. However, thanks to the ongoing blackouts, this year's celebration may be cancelled altogether. I hope to become as able a knight as possible so as to serve the church and Vaal Nero."
Renar Hagen

Cocky little bint. Renar afforded Gertrude an amused smirk. At least he understood where she was coming from. Give someone a taste of power and they think they're on top of the world. Was this why Merilla stuck her in with the Roses? To give her a taste of humility? Well, it wasn't much of his problem in the end, barring the girl's attitude.

"We're all bound to one sort of shackle or another. That's reality. If you were a free woman, would you be placed in this situation by Merilla?" His smile turned bitter.

Speaking of attitude, their latest recruit before this one was trying to salvage the situation. Hah. Good luck with that. If the demon girl didn't command mind magics, he wouldn't be able to take her seriously at all. Fortunate for her that she did, then.

"Oh, I've no problem with this fresh start of yours." Renar kept his insincere smile up as he glanced at Amy. "As to whether she does, well, I see you've so graciously volunteered to find out." Something he heard barely in earshot afforded him an opportunity to wash his hands of this whole mess for now. Let Amy deal with the little harpy. Sufficient payback for the nonsense with his cloak the last time they rode out from Candaeln. "I'm merely going to join my good friend Ser Gerard for a bite to eat. Try not to call anyone a dunce or anything sufficiently offensive in that regard, Dame Amy."

With that said, Renar turned with a swish of his cloak and made his way towards Gerard, falling in step beside him.

"Right, I tried." He murmured aside to his friend as they walked. "The bloody girl better be useful, if she's going to be like this."

Upon arrival in the kitchens, Renar's expression turned stony as he beheld who was awaiting them. Oh, Sir Parvan wasn't an issue, but...

"Edwin." He said flatly, not even affording him a knight's honorific. "Do try not to assault my ears with anything particularly idiotic this time, would you? I may test that ability to not die in here just to escape your blathering."

Am fine with Discord too, yeah.

Probably easier to figure out relationships there, but I know I'd at least be hoping for someone to be a particularly close friend to Silje. Maybe the first one she made during training? Someone she can fuss over, listen to at the end of the way, bother endlessly, you know, the works.

Maybe someone she'd try to teach a thing or two about Mist, too? Whether because the other party asked her to, or because she dictated they need the help. She might not be entirely helpful.

Will mull over more stuff once we got our crew in.

I think it'd be funny if Silje and Kalina were particularly close since they have the same issue (social incompetence) but manifest it in opposite ways. At the very least, Kalina doesn't really give a shit about being bothered if Silje's talking nonstop at her.
