So I have been on the Guild for a long, long, long, long, long, long, LONG time. I first joined the OldGuild around, my best guess would be 2012? I've been active in the Star Wars scene on the Guild since then, there have been very few games based around that genre that I haven't at least nosed my way in on. My very first game was a Star Wars game and that's what actually really got me into the Star Wars Franchise.
It's weird to think but I am such a major Star Wars nerd these days, yet before I was on the Guild I wasn't. I got into a Star Wars RP, got onto the Wikia, and then away I went into a spiral of nerd-om that I currently live within. I've grown since then, I game quite a bit, I write when I can. I have a wikia full of a lore to my own original creative universe and play around with some 'cool' comic book nerds.
I did not realize you were that young. I'm having one of those moments now where I feel so much older.
Also, I just now realized that @Master Bruce's admission of not reading posts yet means all those likes he gave out are meaningless trophies.
Definitely has to be OVER one hundred though as one hundred pages ago this was your only post on the page.
Why don't you remind those of us who need reminded of things, as you need to remember that not everyone can remember everything as clearly as you do, some need to remember to ask for reminders?
I lost the plot, I'm going to sleep. Someone tell me if they find it while I'm asleep.
Thank you all for the nominations and kind words. I am overwhelmed by the love and praise shown towards Thor especially after my brief dry spell. I'm not going to lie, it's very nice to be complimented on the slower pace of my arc as I feel at times as though it's a real chore for you guys to have to read through. So it's very nice to have that kind of writing rewarded with your recognition and praise.
It's been a real pleasure being part of this game, a game I struggled to join at first due to the history of these kinds of games as of late. But being here with all of you has encouraged me to continue posting and stay focused and dedicated. The amount of posts I have so far and the fact I have completed an arc are huge personal landmarks and firsts for me and I want to thank each and every one of you for your support, and enjoyment.
Special mentions to those of you who have spent hours brainstorming with me, editing, just generally listening to me rant. Without you guys, Thor wouldn't be half of what he is.
Such a cheaty way of thanking people. At least put some effort into it, scruuuuub.
Real talk, lets gossip. Surfers master, I know Brucey said it wasn't Galactus but who else thinks he could be pulling a double fakeout? Who else can grant power cosmic like that and is such a big threat.
Because Mama Sep raised me right. I wanna take a minute to respond to some of the votes I got. That's all this post is, so you can skip it if you're not interested.
The John Lees Memorial MVP Award: As much as I appreciate Master Bruce's hard work and dedication to bringing one of the best RPs I have participated in within the last couple years, for me this award has to go to @Sep. There's a reason the Surfer arc was set around the Flash and that's because Sep brings heart to this RP, he's active in both the IC and OOC and he's always there to bounce ideas with and just generally a far more agreeable person than I ever could be. Both Sep and Flash and the MVPs of this RP in my eyes and I look forward to seeing more of them moving forward. There's no doubt in my mind that whatever team forms first, Flash will be a cornerstone thanks to the incredible work and dedication of Sep.
I feel like love has blinded you, and I'm totally okay with that. In seriousness, this means a lot and thankyou. I'm sure you know that while Mordens my MVP you're up there too. You've been a real help over the last couple of years everytime I join one of these games, a great person to bounce ideas off and talk too. Besides, just incase anyone got it lost in the OOC I owe you credit for putting the idea of Iris West as The Flash into my head by memeing. So there is that.
It gives me a confidence boost for someone who feels that his writing isn't quite up to par with everyone elses.
Best Character: The Flash
Wraith mentioned that Sep is the heart of the RP in a lot of ways. I agree, and would say that his Flash is close to being the heart of the IC thread. I was a bit afraid that Iris as Flash was going to be gimmicky, but Sep shut me the hell up the second he hit the ground running (pun) with Iris. I don't know if you guys know this, but he's doing something with the Reverse Flash that's gonna be great. But, seriously, you're doing an awesome job. If we get the chance to start playing villains, you best believe I'm going to take over the Rogues.
R.I.P Flash if Byrds in control of the Rogues - If anyone is wondering whats happening with them, when I felt that the 'Year One' would last a lot longer they were going to appear, but with this iteration of the game going till around September, I elected to have them be a Year Two/Season Two thing so that I could do them justice, or have Byrd take them over and kill me. Again like with Wraith, I want to say thankyou in your own little message and that I appreciate this coming from you.
Iris has been a little difficult, but I feel like I'm getting into the groove with her now.
There’s a fantastic energy in this RP, and I think a lot of that can be traced back to Sep. He’s put a massive shift in, both IC and OOC, and I can’t commend him enough for the effort he’s been putting in. I’ll be honest, I was sceptical when I realised his take on Flash was going to feature Iris under the cowl, thinking that she was just going to be a gender-flipped Barry Allen, but I’m quite happy to have been proven wrong. Iris under Sep’s pen is her own woman, with her own morals and values, and while similar to Barry in some regards, is entirely unique from him in others. Couple that with his good-natured contributions in the OOC – and I do believe a healthy OOC makes a healthy RP – and you’ve got a winning combination. Keep up the great work buddy.
Again, thanks for the energy comment. I kinda feel bad getting praise for being active in the OOC when over the last four/five days I've been hella busy and not posting in the OOC. But I'll take the compliment damn it! The credit to the OOC idea was certainly @Master Bruce who had the good idea to have an active OOC rather than a discord, which I honestly think has made a massive difference. Everyone these days is all about Discord, before that IRCs were an active thing. It's obvious from the rate this OOC and IC has gone that something has been missing from the guild, and honestly? I think it's people. Everyone just sits in their private discord channels talking to eachother and not really roleplaying.
In terms of Iris, I've been trying to avoid similarities to Barry but then even in the modern iterations I sometimes find it difficult to pick up what I need to tell how she'd act in situations, and she can't always ask Barry or Wells just because of how fast she acts. I appreciate knowing that while there are some similarities, which I too have seen, that she feels like her own character.
@Sep’s Flash has been a fun read from the get-go, and I think that part of that has been his sheer enthusiasm. It’s just really, really fun and endearing. Iris feels natural as the Flash, and the Reverse Flash plot is damn intriguing. Keep it up, dude.
I am enthused. Thanks for the vote, I'd give you a vote but I already did that.
I am sorry but I kinda used up my long, deep and emotional responses on everyone else.
First I'd like to thank people for the nominations. I'll say that it was unexpected, and great that I can get nominated for memeing in the OOC with Wraith.
On a random note.
So Batman appears at the end of this issue, again. I didn't pay attention to it before, I could chalk it up to the artist but what the fucks with it?
In terms of story, I like that it's wrapping up Flash War. It seems to have a nice little bow on it while opening new doors. It's certainly interesting now that Wally West 2 knows he shouldn't exist. I think they summed up Barry versus Wally quite nicely. Barry always had to be the hope whereas Wally enjoyed the thrill of being a Hero. So, i'm looking forward to seeing what happens next.
NuBoy has some skills. It's nice to see someone join a RP in progress and put a lot of effort into it, I feel like there's always a stigma with Blue Beetle thanks to Kord that he needs to be lighthearted and comedic, even in Young Justice Jaime Reyes and even in some form the current Blue Beetle with Jaime alongside Ted there's a lighter tone, despite the incredibly dark and twisted stories. At the end of the day this is a teenager who has had an alien/magical artifact FUSE with his body, with the capacity of turning him into a living weapon and in some cases even take over his body.
I feel like Superboy portrays this incredibly well in the posts that he's made so far, and hope that he continues to do so. I look forward to a team up down the line.
Best Character Concept:@GreenGrenade with Green Arrow.
Okay, okay. We've not actually got any Green Arrowing yet. I like the mash of the TV/Comics and the introduction of the marvel assets. I'm looking forward to see where he goes with him, as I have enjoyed his GA in the past. Despite his similarities to various forms of media I feel like there's still a level of freshness to the character that is enjoyable... once I have more posts to read.
Most you guys know that I have a soft spot for playing Hulk, and the main reason is that is because I like illustrating the fight between the two Psyches. I've loved Wraiths posts so far with the introduction of Thor rapidly and suddenly, to then have the entire identity of Donald Blake fight back thinking it's some form of psychosis. That's the kind of depth you aren't really going to get in anything you see Marvel doing today cinematically and it's not really a concept that was played with Donald Blake in the comics. Whereas once Thors subconcious was unlocked that was pretty much it. I look forward to seeing the two fight it out more, seeing a psychiatrist try and sum up what is going on and maybe even for the two of them to have a long hard earned discussion.
I really like Punishers 'Origin'. I have to mention @Byrd Man here too as I love how they can go and have such a structured story, which is something I personally don't like doing but love to see. I like that each one of their arcs, while interconnected, stands so strong on their own and Unis origin is a perfect example of this. You immediately know what's going on, and while a lot of it is action and killing as would be expected from the Punisher you really get to delve deep into where he's at mentally. You really start to feel his struggle towards the end.
So I really enjoyed one of Henrys posts in particular, This one where Gwen faces off against the enforcers. I personally always worry about action scenes, but Henry makes them fluid and fun to read. Kudos dear Henry, need I say anymore?
The John Lees Memorial MVP Award: I need to get real and say @Morden Man. I don't know what he's been like to other people but to me he's been a serious help throughout this Roleplay. He's given me advice on what to do with my posts, how to maybe not take the physics so seriously because it's a comic book RP and really a lot of shit. He'll know better than everyone here, like everyone else I don't tend to like my posts but he's always got my back, and helps me out.
From what I've seen he also does it for other people, and his Fantastic Four really add an interesting dynamic to the roleplay as a whole. Whether these Four make it backt o their own Earth at the end of Year One, or move home I don't know. I look forward to it either way.
"ONLY DEATH AND DESTRUCTION AWAITS YOUR WORLD SHOULD YOU REFUSE TO PARTICIPATE IN MY MASTER'S TEST."
One of the Surfer's hand began to glow with the power cosmic. The power was so volatile that it's throbbing was audible even to the Flash on the ground. At the first sign of the Surfer raising his hand, the Flash broke into a sprint. The Surfer tracked her gait with his eye as he prepared to unfurl the cosmic energy in the speedster's direction.
"AND IT IS MY DUTY TO DELIVER IT."
"Who is your-" Iris started, however she was unable to go continue before the Surfer raised one of his hands. The surfboard glowed with energy, and it passed over up to his hand. As soon as that happened she started off. Breaking into a sprint she started circling him at high speed, such as she had done earlier to contain his blast of energy in the street. What she needed to do was somehow disrupt his connection to the board, when she ran at high speeds Iris found that she could sometimes cause electrical disturbances. Usually she tried to avoid doing that. Today, she was actively tryin to cause disturbances.
Trusting the rumours that Superman had super hearing she spoke over the sound of the rushing wind. Her voice distorted by the speed she was going at, she had to draw out her words to make sure he could hear her. "Try and part him from his board." She pushed herself harder. Lightning swirling around as the dust kicks up in the air in a way similar to that of a tornado. She varied her speed, slowing and speeding up at random intervals to try and prevent the Surfer from succeeding to strike her. This had to work. The longer this fight went on, the more abilities the Surfer seemed to pull out of his bag of tricks.
Now that there were two of them? It was the time to strike.
She turned to see his feet lift slightly off the board and she smurked. Pushing on the speed now that he was off balance she kept pushing until the point where he and the board began to separate, he went to tumble and she shouted over the wind as she turned to grab the board. "Get him! I got the board!"
