By the way, it just occurred to me that Charizard has two mega evolutions, so why not allow multiple different custom mega evolutions?

I have a passage about that at the bottom of the first post.

Regarding Mega Evolutions

If there is a new Mega Evolution you want to bring in, it must first come to me, and we will talk about the details surrounding it, such as Ability and so on. They are allowed to gain new abilities, but this will be rare, as there are so many good abilities in the game already. If said Mega Evolution is already added to the RP, then you must use that version, or not at all. X and Y Charizard and Mewtwo were a very unique case, so having more than one Mega Evolution for a Pokemon is not acceptable here.

Mega Evolutions can be checked in the Characters tab.

They're unique and Game Freak is basically milking them for all it's worth.

But unfortunately no one's getting held items. Only exception is mega stones.
@Ryik Any non-legendary, however for stages it'd be first stage. There is an exception for Eeveelutions where you can start with them evolved though. If it's a Pokemon like Absol, iffy. It'd be fine if you only had one, but if you suddenly start with Absol, Heatmor, and Tropius, we gotta talk.

There are no held items, but there are still special items like evolution stones. For Simple format though you can use held items if you'd like, but for complex, the focus is all on roleplaying.

Ultra Beasts are in the legendary category, but for Alolan the island in the south is full of Alolan Pokemon. For Galar forms, there's a mix of them in certain regions, but some like Galar Weezing can't be encountered normally. In any case we'll figure it out as we go along, as we don't have an encounter list, instead you make an encounter request and we work to make a scenario for it.
@Sunbather I'm not entirely on board with regional variants. The reason I allow megas is there's a personal factor to it, some people may identify a certain Pokemon as their favorite.

We already have upwards 800 to choose from, adding megas doesn't really "increase" that number. Basically, we got plenty already.
@Ryik

Accumulating wealth is not important. There's no shop system. If you want something you make a request in the discord and a chance to get it will be given at an unspecified time. More on that when I completely figure out how to use the discord for this rp. If you want your character to be wealthy or poor there are other ways to play that out.

Almost all battles are single unless double is desired or the encounter requires it. Only one gym is double battle but the rest are singles. Meanwhile contests are always double or even triple at higher ranks.

At all times only 4 moves will be allowed even in complex format. The anime does for the most part stick to 4 moves too.

You're stuck to learnset for the most part, however egg moves can be started with in your opening team. Tutor and event moves can be taught later by npcs if you desire it. TMs are the standard fare, you'll need to earn them, or be given one from a gym.

For the most part the rp focuses on the role playing, don't forget that. In complex format even the least meta team can come out on top.
@Keyblade87 Gen 8 is included.
Just a note that character sheet is there and you can start making your characters now, while I wrap background stuff up.
@Sunbather Fanmade megas are an exception indeed. Although only one can be chosen. So if we decide on a mega for say, Nidoking, everyone using a mega Nidoking must use the same one.

Welcome to Chromis

"Welcome to the world of Pokemon, I am Champion Rylen of the Chromis League, and am here to proudly announce the commencement of the International League this year, which is being held in the Chromis Region. Every four or so years, trainers from all over the world converge onto a host region to compete in an extraordinarily competitive version of that league's Gym Challenge. However it's not a challenge just to find the best trainer in the region, no, it's a hot-blooded contest to find the world's strongest trainer, and it happens every four years! That means every trainer wishing to test their mettle is invited! From the trainer who has just obtained their first Pokemon, to another region's champion, all are invited!

So from henceforth I officially announce the beginning of the International League!"

SOUTH GATE
Enemy Spotted!
  • Brigand (Branna +10 EXP)
  • Brigand (Branna, Bel +10/5 EXP)
  • Bandit Lancer (Branna +10 EXP)
  • Bandit Archer (Artemisia +5 EXP)
  • Bandit Archer (Bel +5 EXP)
  • Sword Bandit (New!)
  • Brigand(New!)

@Typical@Yankee@Haeo

As the two new bandits strode into the battle, Trace and Bel responded in kind. The axe brigand was given no time to spare as an arrow flew right for him, landing right in his shoulder, definitely stopping him from running after anyone, but now Bel was in his sights. Pulling the arrow out he began to sprint for her. Coming up behind Bel though was Wes, the healer they met earlier, healing her wounds.

Meanwhile Trace with his spear would find a mark at the swordsman's side, the blade wielding bandit would be forced to jump back and away to avoid an immediately fatal blow, before trying to counter-attack, yet combined with the shorter reach of a sword, and the few steps he would need to take to get in range, Trace would have little trouble defending or evading the simple attack.

Branna's brutal onslaught only continued, a confirming arrow was not necessary here as the lancer bandit fell. She was in prime position to assist Trace or Bel, although for the first time since spotting him in the forest, Branna spotted Gerrian emerging from the shadows just by the trees nearby. He gave a confirming nod, signalling he was watching. It seems he would take whichever bandit that Branna was not going to go for.

WALL BREACH!
Enemy Spotted!
  • Bandit Pugilist (Engaged with Einar)
  • Brigand (Engaged with Alnard)

@Savo@Lugubrious

Einar rushed through the opening and struck at the Pugilist Bandit. Artemisia's earlier Flux disoriented them further, though it's damage seemed lacking used in such a way. A huge contrast to a focused attack with fatal properties. Regardless it allowed Einar to get a very clean strike in on the Pugilist, without a retaliation as he reeled away to regain his composure.

As that occured, a burst of fire blasted into the face of the other bandit, dealing a decent amount of damage, as Alnard entered the mix. Any moment that door should be filling with enemies, if they were to push, they required more assistance. Fortunately Hadrick managed to move up and in behind Alnard and Einar as support.

  • Brigand (Branna, Bel +10/5 EXP)
  • Bandit Lancer (Engaging Branna)
  • Bandit Archer (Artemisia +5 EXP)
  • Bandit Archer (Bel +5 EXP)
  • Sword Bandit (New!)
  • Brigand (New!)

@Typical@Yankee@Lugubrious@Haeo

The south side was looking to become quite active, with Trace heading south too to join the fray. Bel manages to finish off the last archer in the window, while Branna strikes down the Brigand whose blood has already been drawn, a sure kill. Yet it left her sides open to an attack as the Lancer made a charge, striking at her and Mors' side. Not a clean blow, unsure if he should aim for the rider or the ride itself, he only manages to nick both of them. Not at all convincing.

As Trace arrives to the battle proper, he would spot two more bandits rearing out from the back of the building, a sword wielding bandit, and yet another axeman. It appears his presence was needed here.

WALL BREACH!
Enemy Spotted!
  • Bandit Pugilist
  • Brigand

@Savo

Alnard gave the approval to use the blasting powder, and pretty soon the wall was done away. After a brief pause where the satchel was set, the fuse was then set off and after some tense moments the wall crumbled under a fiery explosion. While enemies were dazed from the initial blast, now was a good chance roll in and take the initiative.
