Final Fantasy: Stranger in Paradise is the funniest shit I've ever seen while also not being a bad game. Just crack open some cold ones with the boys, blare Limp Bizket, and Kill Chaos.
My apologies for the wait! Also @IceHeart I wasn't quite sure how to bring in your two new characters into the plot, since having Rodias just whoopsie-doodle his way into the bath would be stretching the timeline more. I will work on addition to the post as soon as I think of something.
As for everyone else, let me know if anything needs to be changed or added.
Once all preparations were made and the group set out for the area described by Rodias, the threesome would be capable of traveling swiftly in the midst of night. Along the way minor signs of cultist activity, as well as a few patrols would prove to be only minor speed bumps to the three otherworldly beings, each possessing enough strength to fight off an endless army of the basic peasantry who were armed with little more than a dull knife and a flimsy sense of self worth. It wouldn't be until they reached the more central area of the forest that Gromgard would begin to notice the trademark footfalls of Goblins upon dirt...the likes of which didn't belong to him.
Goblins dressed in similar garb and masks to the cultists were observable while the group trekked, giving them the idea that whatever this cult was, it at least had enough power to bring a group of monsters beneath it. Ashara in particular however would note something sinister arising from the area. Something...or someone powerful was dwelling within. At least on par with herself. An overwhelming sense of malice seemed to reverberate across the woodland, as if whatever deranged madness present in this cult was all concentrated into one being.
...Also, Chompy Bits might get a bit of inspiration from how intricate their ritualistic dismemberment seemed to be from the semi-fresh corpses strung up. Maybe they could share tips.
Once the twosome had convened and received the bag of Olms from Rodias to use as payment, the two women of learning would depart. They had a singular objective: To find a library and learn everything possible about this world, as well as to find a way to make money. Charme was given whatever alchemical materials that were found usable in this new world; After all, even low level medicinal herbs could make a basic healing potion with her skillset. The two would encounter little trouble on their way to the city...save for the occasional traveler gawking at Charme. Kath dressed far more humbly, and as such was spared from ogling.
Their journey to the city east of Amberden was relatively quick, especially given that the two had magic on their side. The city’s cobblestone roads and simple, yet cozy architecture gave the area a feeling of warmth to it. It wasn’t an exceptionally busy city, but more than enough business was being conducted at the marketplace that they could easily see all the different races prowling about, many of which they wouldn’t recognize from YGGDRASIL. The Library, as they would be told after asking a passerby, was up the hill and near the governor’s mansion. It was free for all to partake in, so long as they could pass a test of literacy. One that could easily be passed with Kath’s already established Cipher.
Mamoru’s appearance thankfully didn’t cause any problems on her arrival into the city. It seemed that though Dragon-Scarred were more common amongst the general populace, a good number even receiving her kindly...though, the glances burning against her back let her know that it was a unilateral acceptance. They would direct her towards the Lord’s Manor, the Duke of Amberden who was living there. The Governor seemed to be a seperate body, as his residence was much larger. Humans were simple, at least.
The various maids and butlers tending to the gardens and grounds would turn their nose at her garb, but would eventually consent to giving her a chance to make an impression on their lord. They didn’t seem to suspect her of carrying anything, which made the simple slip of the wrist to deposit Salem’s remotely controlled verminoid doll in a potted plant in passing, giving the doll ample opportunity to explore at his leisure.
Mamoru however would immediately be greeted at the door by a man well into his years, easily approaching 60 judging from the growing grayness of his hair. His eyes were serious and bagged, as if he was plagued by long nights of unrestful sleep. Looking her up and down, a certain sneer crossed his face before he said: ”A Dragon-Sworn...the last thing I need is more of your kind. What do you want?” he would ask, kind in no part to Mamoru. It was clear that this man held a disdain for whatever “Dragon-Sworn” were, and that they were different from “Dragon-Scarred”, as many of those roamed the halls as maids and butlers.
Rodias was genuinely surprised that Light wasn’t in the least bit excited to play board games. Mostly since, as far as he knew, Fredrik was a huge tabletop nerd. I mean, who else makes a bunch of Cthulhu related things tie into an NPC but someone that played too many non-electronic RPGs? Still, Rodias wasn’t able to just skip straight to fighting. Foreplay always came first.
Picking out the Dice Beasts game, Rodias would begin a thrilling game of random chance with Light, culminating in the overall result of the games being 6 to Light, and 3 to Rodias. Seeing that the game had quickly worn its welcome out, Rodias would smile at Light, saying: "To be honest, I was never much good at any of the Chateau’s games. One time, Lord Loss stripped me of all my gear. Took a week of me running around the Chateau naked before he gave it back to me." With a light chuckle, Rodias would rise and begin leading Light to the Beast Pen arena. It was a perfect place to spar without fear of death, and largely any status effects would be removed after both participants left the arena. Standing a fair number of paces away from Light, Rodias would lower his stance, exhaling as the full brunt of his presence, prepped for combat, laid bare for Light to see. He would wait for her to make the first move in their spar, curious to see the vault guardian’s fighting style.
All at once, one of the ESPER wings would be made aware of a tremendous spike in power as...someone, or something in Amberden momentarily undid whatever False Data spells they had up, revealing their true natural level…
Rodias was beyond thankful that nothing interrupted his trip to visit Graft this time. After all, talking business meant that one had to keep their head cool...and, getting pissed and killing someone for speaking out of turn wasn’t a good way to do that. Graft was a shrewd businessman, a dangerous combination of brilliance in exploiting things to make a profit, but having the far-sightedness to realize that just brutalizing and enslaving the people will only cause problems later on, despite the initial advantages. Rodias likened it to a strategy game where you could either get a large sum up front from a resource by destroying it, or a permanent small percentage each turn from keeping it around. Only an idiot would take the lump sum. That would be like writing a book and not wanting any royalties. Rodias had a problem with bartering away what they had...but, he already had a solution in mind for that. More worrisome was the idea Graft put forth. Ruling the world with coin...Rodias thought it sounded good. But then, it probably sounded good to the highest percentage that owned the world back where he once lived. But...who was to say he shouldn’t just do what they did? Live it up, and step all over those beneath him for daring to be born in the way? The palpable feeling of the temptation wrapped around his heart for a moment, before Graft began explaining the functional uses of Amberlyte.
So, it was toxic in a way...that was worrisome. But, Graft seemed to have already thought of effective ways to utilize this toxicity that plagued one’s mana. It was an item type that had never been implemented in YGGDRASIL; Probably because Leak was considered so annoying, the developers were afraid of giving players access to it. Rodias was hoping that it would prove more useful, but an MP Sapping powder was a potent tool indeed. Finally sensing a turn in which to speak, Rodias would chuckle, having fully considered the implication of ruling the world. "As interesting as ruling the world might be, I’m afraid I’d either get so bored I’d become a tyrant, or that I would simply be too poor at it. But, I am a fan of increasing our wealth subtly. What I’m not a fan of however is bartering off the guild’s possessions…"
Rodias would stand slowly, tracing a hand along the chair’s arm as he smiled ever so faintly, a look of nostalgia on his face. "Its pure selfishness Graft, pure and simple. And yet, I can’t bring myself to just...sell off the things my friends treasured. Besides, there are other ways we can bring in start-up revenue," the Sable Lord said, regaining his neutral expression as he turned once more to Graft. "We’re going to have one of our members pose as an Adventurer. And then, we’ll create a disastrously strong threat...but not so dire as to draw the strongest in the land. And then, we’ll ‘invent’ a hero. Even a medium tier threat to a city would warrant lavishing a savior with riches, no?"
Zouyu tried to keep up with the conversation at hand, eyes spinning in his head as most things went over his head. But...he did understand two things: Everyone seemed mad at Chuunitrixx...and it was because she wanted to prevent things like his toy being eaten by Chompy Bits from happening. This would cause a certain guilt to build in the weretiger’s gentle heart, which would show rather plainly given Zouyu’s simple nature. But, Kaldorna agreed to help train him, so he would at least have something to look forward to. That and...seeing Ashara again. Remembering that hug, Zouyu’s cheeks would grow a tinge pink on the mounted travel, before Zouyu would strangely ask Kaldorna: ”Um...Kaldorna...do you know if Ashara is...m-mating with anyone?”
That awkward conversation aside, the journey the beast-hunters undertook on behalf of Rodias would lead them nearer to the coast than before, allowing them to see more of the coastal life. Large crustaceans the size of boulders slumbered beneath the sands, waiting to feast on the drifting kelp and various small sea life brought along by the waves gently lapping at the shoreline. Given the nearly impassable mountains in the area that the Chateau rested upon, this area had likely never once seen the kiss of humanity’s expansion. Save for the washed-up wreck of a sizeable ship that rested on the beach, marooned on the shoreline. Seeing that ship, Zouyu’s eyes lit up. ”Is...is that a ship? Maybe there’s stuff in there Rodias might like! Oh, but uh...we’re supposed to just look for animals. Right?” he questioned, prompting the vampires to evaluate if the wreck was worth looking for. The large crabs seemed to be incredibly docile despite their relative strength. And, judging from the luster of their shells once washed, they would be delicious to eat.
"...Were there THIS many people last night?" Vani asked himself aloud, muttering a bit as the fledgling paladin emerged from his slumber. Clutching his sword against his chest with his shield tightly strapped to his arm, Vani had slept through the night with every possession he had in the world contained in his pockets and hands. It was a sad existence to some, especially since one of those was a half empty bottle of cheap wine, but...
No actually, that was just sad. His mind raced with all the possibilities that 250 gold pieces could present. That was like...add 50...carry the 4...
It was a lot more gold than he ever made smithing swords. That's all he knew. A LOT more, considering he'd never even seen a gold piece in his life with the cheap swords his dad had him making.
But, regardless, the line was forming to get in and Vani didn't have the patience for crap like this. Especially when he saw some girl just blitz her way past and vault over one of the walls. He knew that people had already gone inside and were searching but...damn. He needed a way inside, and fast. And that's when he came to notice the woman attempting to squeeze on through a crack in the wall, and an idea struck him. And then it struck his shield. Raising his shield aloft, Vani would smirk as lightning began coursing through it. Divine power coursed through the simple metal shield.
Goddess Lolan, grant me your might! With my faith and your storms, let the path be cleared!" Vani would say, chewing the scene before he slammed his shield as hard as possible into the most damaged wall around, managing to clear it about halfway down its length; A perfect height for him to simply climb over and into the ruins. Smirking at his handiwork, Vani would hurry to lift himself up and over the wall, rolling to his feet inside the ruins. A smirk crossed his lips as he exclaimed: "Lifetime of mead and good inns, here I come," before bolting off at a pace that betrayed his actual strength. He may seem a fool to most...because he is...but there was no denying that he compensated adequately with his strength. Ancient ruins with infinite archaeological value were not comparable to a fat sack of gold in his eyes.
"Hehe...I bet that showed 'em. I gotta hurry, before someone else nabs that secret. ...Maybe I can split it 50/50 with someone else and cover more ground," he thought as he began his search in earnest, eyes shining with a determination born of a need for good booze, coin, fine women, and preferably a very healthy amount of all three.
Steppe Archer couldn't help but cringe at the sight of the quest detailing the slaying of roaches...after what had happened to the Guard lady she'd been adventuring with, she hated to think of one of her companions or herself contracting that disease as well. But thankfully, it seemed her companions weren't intent on doing that one, what with the question Big Red posed of whether they could take on two quests nearby. She had a feeling he meant the Goblin Nest extermination as well as the escort mission; It sounded like a good enough idea. And they'd net over 100 copper each if they managed to complete both. Even more if they found the adventure party that had departed before. Still, she had to wonder what happened to them...were goblins such a huge threat out here? She'd heard they were tricky, and liked to gang up on stronger people to take them down fast but...she figured adventurers were tougher.
Still, it was an opportunity to earn a huge sum of money...so long as they dealt with the goblins. The escort sounded simple.
Smiling, Steppe Archer would give the Druid Girl a smile, saying: "An escort sounds super simple. Plus with the three of us, we're covered for basically anything. We have my bow, your magic, and Big Red's strength!" The girl was fairly confident they could manage. But, she would quickly add: "If we're going to take on that goblin quest while we're there though, we should bring things to heal ourselves with. After all, goblins don't fight fair."
Double posting so it can be seen outside the review of IceHeart's characters, but...
Please, put collabs in hiders.
Like, always. Just courtesy to everyone else since wall of texts cause panic attacks, infant mortality, signing your soul over to the devil, and losing custody of your kids on Christmas Eve.
Sorry for my relative radio silence the past few days y'all.
Okie-Doki, let's see if everyone can handle this one. Just know that one should steel themselves before entering within.
Name: Violet Florence
Gender: Female
Age: 19
Appearance:
Occupation: Miner/Bodyguard
Residence: Barracks
Character Focus: Miner / Tank / Aggro-Controller
Personality: Violet is in one word, adorable. She has a bright and happy personality but it is tempered by her shyness with certain subjects. Despite her age, she acts like a little girl and talks like one too. Violet has a bit of a complex about her height and weight, so you can usually find her in her dwarf form despite the reduced stats.
She can act a bit clueless and naïve at times, with the ability to turn into a cherry tomato at the drop of a hat. When she sulks, she will lower her helmet’s visor and refuse to look directly at you. Because she is a little sister character despite being a literal giant, Violet has the tendency to call everyone onii or onee-chan.
Notable Equipment:
*Ring of Size Reduction: The ring changes Violet from a 10 foot tall giant into a 4 foot dwarf. The main reason for this ring is so that violet doesn’t take up too much space in the Chateau as she sometimes got…stuck in the game. The reduction in size also effects her stats, especially the range of her taunts and other skills making her less effective at her job of defending others. Unfortunately her weight stays the same which can prove to be quite embarrassing.
The ring’s effects are only active when worn, so Violet simply has to remove the ring to return to normal size. Everything she has currently equipped is also affected by the ring.
*Tower Shield of Spell Reflection: As most of her allocated stats were put into physical defense she was gifted her tower shield as a way to compensate. As long as she is able to intercept a spell she can reflect it back onto her assailant up to tier 5, with a 30% chance at tier 6. Anything above that and the shield merely provides a lot of magic resistance, as long as the spell hits the shield and not her body.
*The Thundernyan's Mace: Despite its name the mace does not have any electrical powers or kitten powers for that matter, the only thing it has going for it is the thunderous sounds it makes when it smashes into something. The mace drastically increases her bludgeoning skills and has the ability to create a small, localized Earthquake at the location of her choosing to put the enemy off-balance.
*Guardian Angel Armor: An armor set designed with the expressed purpose of defending other players. The armor provides cutting, piercing, bludgeoning, and metal weapon resistance giving her already impressive defense stats quite the extra layer of defense. The armor gives her the *cover* skill, which allows her to designate a target and teleport in front of them to provide cover from enemy attacks; this skill can only be used once every 30 minutes however. Coupled with the Tower Shield of Spell Reflection and the combined defenses of her armor, this equipment makes Violet perfect for protecting the other members of her party.
*The Pick-Pickin-Pickaxe of Harvesting: This pickaxe is designed for hard labor in the mines and is capable of pickin' even some of the hardest of metals. The pickaxe gives her an increased chance of finding rare materials and increases her capacity for hauling larger material hauls. On the top of the axe is a heart shape for some extra moe love.
Creator Information: LadyDuMoe was a woman obsessed with making everything she could get her hands on, Moe. Everything had to be cute, kawaii, or just plain adorable. All of her characters, equipment, even her talking patterns had to have sufficient levels of Moe to satisfy her. As a result of this obsession, most of her creations were small and cute, so one of her guild mates jokingly challenged her to make a kawaii giant. LadyDuMoe took the challenge at face value and so Violet Florence was born.
No matter what creature, shape, size, or gender, LadyDuMoe made it her mission to make everything she could Moe. She was sometimes caught making, alternations, to certain NPCs which almost got her banned from the guild; thankfully she was able to restrain those urges to the point where she would only gift people items and try to chat them into making certain changes. She was good at what she did but, was rather pushy so it was hard for others to see her in a positive light.
As far as any sort of equipment or stats go, Violet seems perfectly acceptable to me. She's adorable, and her creator is probably the reason Yaoishisaurus made Zouyu a little bean of a weretiger. She's accepted.
Party composition wise she'd be pretty useful to have out and about, especially with any squishies. I suppose I could put in a mining emphasis for those tough rocks that one else else can get. Though if need be, I could tweak her and replace the smithing part with something else so she wouldn't be quite as 'necessary'. Could also add some smith bots in the Forge used mostly for maintenance and the like so Violet would mostly just be needed for making and taking care of high-grade stuff.
Didn't want to double-post, so here is the other character I had in mind for review.
Name: Talim Brighton
Gender: Male
Age: 22 [Looks 15]
Appearance:
Occupation: Scout/Spy
Residence: The Roof
Character Focus: Intelligence Gathering / Air Support / Infiltrator
Personality: Talim Trighton is a tease, to everyone. As a young pretty boy, he tends to dress in a rather, borderline fashion just to add some confusion to the mix for fun. Add that to his Illusionist skill set and you have a little trickster always ready for another round of mischief.
Talim appears to take nothing seriously, is nosy, and will never admit he is in the wrong, ever. Despite these character flaws he tends to be good at getting people to talk, no small part thanks to a little Incubus charm. With his youthful and cute appearance he tends to be especially good at getting under women’s defenses. Delving into peoples’ secrets is his naughty hobby and is not beyond doing a little dream skimming to try and snag a juicy tid-bit of information.
Notable Equipment:
*Flights of Fancy: The Flights of Fancy is a special scarf that Talim equips which gives him the ability to use Fly without any drain to his mana pool and increases his speed and acrobatic prowess by over 80%. This boost allows him to keep up and even outmaneuver natural fliers such as large birds and harpies.
*Amulet of Misdirection: A pair of cute hairclips to keep the bangs out of his eyes, they are both fashionable and useful. The hairclips sport a 40% boost to his illusion skills and has a passive that makes his speech more persuasive to the listener. This was a personal gift from LadyDuMoe herself, not that Talim would ever admit to caring about that.
*Shortsword of Maiming: The shortsword has the ability to maim and cripple a target when hit. Of course that sword can do that naturally but has an added debuff that can trick a target into a crippled status. The debuff is not a physical wound and merely sends a signal to the brain that a limb has been rendered useless. The debuff only lasts a few seconds to a minute at most and the more armor a target has the harder it is to put on a potential victim. The weapon is great for putting an enemy off balance to set up for a fatal strike.
*Barb Du Finale: Talim has a secondary weapon on the end of his tail, a metal barb with armor piercing properties. The classic way to use it is to distract an opponent with his shortsword, while masking his tail with illusion magic to hopefully give a fatal blow to the enemy. Along with the armor piercing abilities it has a very high critical hit rate, making it great for finishing the job or at least taking out a huge chunk of hit points.
*Just-A-Peep Spyglass: Talim has a small, retractable spyglass that he will often use when scouting around, or just spying on residents of the Chateau. The spyglass has very impressive zoom magic and comes with magic filters to help pierce through anti-information magic barriers. The spyglass has a clear image feature as well which can help with the blur one might see while looking through something like frosted glass for instance; Very useful for information gathering and tracking enemy movement.
Creator Information: LadyDuMoe was a woman obsessed with making everything she could get her hands on, Moe. Everything had to be cute, kawaii, or just plain adorable. All of her characters, equipment, even her talking patterns had to have sufficient levels of Moe to satisfy her. While all of her creations had to be at least moe in looks, that did not always spill over to her NPCs’ personality. “After all, sometimes the strongest moe can be seen in the extreme contrasts between looks and temperament. While a charming child is the ultimate moe, a beautiful brat can also be a feast for the senses!” Or so LadyDuMoe once said to one of her guild mates who merely pretended to listen to her rants.
No matter what creature, shape, size, or gender, LadyDuMoe made it her mission to make everything she could Moe. She was at one point caught making altercations, to other’ people’s NPCs, which almost got her banned from the guild; thankfully she was able to restrain those urges to the point where she would only gift people items and try to chat them into making certain changes. She was good at what she did but, was rather pushy so it was hard for others to see her in a positive light.
Name: Vani Silverstream Age: 57 Gender: Male Race: Wood Elf
Artist Credit: 純珪一 Height: 6’7” Eye Color: Orange Hair Color: White
Personality. When someone thinks of a paladin, the last person they might think of would be Vani. In place of chivalry he holds revelry to be his core tenement, seeking enjoyment wherever he goes. He's a lover of wine, women, and boasts, holding the firm belief that any adventure is worth having so long as its enjoyable. He may shirk duties that he finds loathsome, but when it comes to having a swordarm at your back, worse than Vani exist out there. He is loyal to those who show him respect, and despite his negative qualities at least understands that a paladin exists to protect people from evil. If Vani suspects that he can help with a problem, he'll offer his services immediately, boasting that it would likely pose no threat to a man of his caliber.
...Put simply, he's a pain in the neck.
History: Wheras most paladins enter their service through tenements of fate, Vani entered it from a childish fit. At the ripe young age of 46. Born the son of a blacksmith and without a mother figure beyond his third year, Vani always resented the simple life that he was born into. As such, he'd try to escape from under the thumb of his father as soon as he worked up the nerve. The simple village of Marinkarn was one that had a rich store of iron present in its mines. Simple farmers, miners, and a few merchants made there home there. It was an idyllic, simple little village...which made it terribly dull to one with such grand ideas of adventure and wanderlust as Vani. He'd admittedly come to love the place, and later in his life would regret leaving in the way he did. But, for his ends, he abandoned it as soon as he had enough money to ensure that he could travel.
Running away with one of his father's swords, Vani would enter the service of the church of Lolan, Goddess of Celebration, Storms, and Weddings. It was a simple enough procedure, but it would create a rift between Vani and his father that has lasted for years to come. The reason he chose this church is, frankly, the most selfish one can imagine. As the Goddess of Celebration and Weddings, Lolan's followers are not barred from the usual prohibition placed on clergy for its members to marry and have children. It was a very selfish reason, but Vani always figured that someday he'd settle down with a nice girl after he got the adventure out of his bloodstream. Maybe get stupid rich and famous while he was at it. While Vani had always been a bit of a vulgar and lazy sort of person, the sheer contempt he held for his noble "betters" in service of Lolan drove him to better himself...at least, in terms of ability. Born lame in the brain, Vani would instead focus all his talents on swordplay and training, seeking to become a man worthy of being knighted in full as a paladin.
Sadly, due to a mix of his own loose tongue and his inability to master some of the more intermediate paladin spells, he was passed over for the Rite of Advancement. Left behind by his brothers and frustrated with himself, Vani would leave the Church on an unofficial pilgrimage, feeling that he had wasted ten years of his life, and wanted to finally go out and seek adventure on his own terms. Strangely, despite leaving the church improperly he is still capable of using the spells of their order. Perhaps it is because he never lost his faith in her, but rather the tenements of her followers, Vani is still considered to be under the watchful eyes of the Storm Queen. Now, having wandered around for a year on his own, Vani has accumulated a bit of adventuring experience at his own pace.
...Of course, now he was shunned by his brothers, not welcome back home due to leaving his father high and dry, running tavern tabs out on towns that he couldn't afford to drink in at the first place, but...y'know...at least he's killing a few goblin nests here and there. And so the fool of a paladin would march on to the beat of his own drum, unbound by his church, and lacking any home to call his own. ----- Level: 19 Class: Paladin Profession: Blacksmith
Stats:Stats are rated by a letter-system, with worst to best being as follows; F, E, D, C, B, A, S. An 'average' adult human, with no martial training and no proper education has rank F in generally all their stats) Strength (STR): B Vitality (VIT): A Dexterity (DEX): D Intellect (INT): F (Technically an E in terms of actual education, but he's a bona fide idiot.) Wisdom (WIS): C Charisma (CHA): B
List of immunities: Sleep, Magical Charm
Resistances: Lightning
Weaknesses: Necrotic, Illusions, Physical Charm
Equipment: Steel Longsword: A basic sword the likes of which you could find just about anywhere. The handguard is custom however, having been forged by Vani's father. Any future sword that he would recieve, he would put this handguard on it.
Kite Shield of Lolan: A shield emblazoned with the holy symbol of Lolan, Goddess of Revelry and Storms. There's nothing really exceptional about it, but its clear from looking at it that it has been well-maintained and treasured by the one who uses it.
Paladin's Ensemble: A mixture of chainmail, tabard, plate gauntlets, and pauldrons that show that Vani is well armored. He would have a helmet, but in anime land helmets are just a friendly suggestion.
Ring of the Apprentice: A ring traditionally worn by fledgling mages that enables one to regenerate their MP faster. It was gifted to Vani by his mentor to..."help" with his inability to cast more than a few spells before running dry.
Amulet of the Storm: A holy symbol worn around the neck that provides a boost to the user's lightning damage spells.
Skills & Spells: Thundering Smite: A wreath of electricity is called down from the heavens to the user's weapon, imbuing it with holy power for a short number of strikes. Because of Vani's relatively low mana pool, he enjoys using this in short bursts during combat as it ends the fight a hell of a lot faster if the other guy is a smoldering charred mess.
Lay on Hands: The most basic of healing spells. Paladins are not clerics, and as such generally are not taught much of the healing arts beyond this spell. The user transfers a bit of their stamina into healing magic that must be delivered via direct contact. Vani scarcely uses this.
Challenge of the Adherent of Thunder: A technique learned by the defenders of mirth that is effectively a taunt. Except really loud.
Duelist: Vani is relatively skilled at swordplay, and is more than capable of going toe to toe with someone of similar strength compared to him.
