Current Location: The Ruins

Needless to say, the other Cadets would go on in passing him by as Gradon ran towards the main Ruins. That was because his footsteps had slowly faltered to a stop as he noticed something shift in the near distance. Concerned, the boy considered summoning his Vessel but before he could do so, the shifting had revealed itself. Gradon nearly jumped back as a large, black snake quickly slithered by his feet as if in a hurry. Initial surprise was replaced by curiosity and he wondered where such a thing was headed to in a hurry.

Another deal wail from the monster up ahead snapped him out of this dormancy and he left the snake to its journey in pursuit of his fellow Cadets. By the time he had arrived, the battle was already over. As the beast dissipated back into the darkness of which it came, Gradon, like the others, noticed its presence was left with a marked paper. “Music?” he asked to no in particular before the sheet burned into cinders.

In any case, he looked around, relief being felt as he saw everyone had come out of the battle without too major harm. Regina looked to be on edge and Leblanc seemed ready to punch someone out, but he will leave those two be for now. Not only that, but Ires and Viola’s arrival would be met with another, and Gradon looked up to see a girl with glasses descend upon them all with…wings?

As everyone had their initial reactions to the new girl, now named Diana, Gradon stepped forward. “Banshee? So that must have been the monster terrorizing this land that we were assigned to kill…oh! We’re Imperial Cadets from Arcadia. If you saved one of our own, then we have no reason not to trust you. I guess our job is done here?”
The Boss

“Welcome to the real world Hildr. This is the backbone of most jobs,” Boss said without even looking up from her own paperwork. No, it wasn’t glamorous or ideal in any sense. But it did pay the bills and put food on the table, for the most part. Heaven forbid they start to rant about the actual pay grade lest they be heard by another staff member. Or worse; a student.

“And with your degree in languages, I doubt you’d get much else from a smaller school either,” Boss added; this time, she did look up with a raised eye. “You would just be complaining about not reaching your full potential or that you could be doing so much more. Or something along those lines. I know this because you’ve already done so. Multiple times.”

That being said, Boss went right back into the throes of her work, unswayed by the desk rumbling beneath. “If you break that, you have to pay for it,” she reminded Hildr, moving her pen to and fro against the papers. “And I don’t want another reason for you to complain during work hours so try to make sure your head is a soft as your work performance here.”

Back outside in the hallways, Dana was caught between tilting her head and outright snickering at Rufie’s threats to her. “Aww come on Rufie, lighten up! Oh ho, it was just a prank bro! No one eveeeer gets hurt in pran-e-eh?” A cross between a glare and a look of panic painted her features but it was mostly a glower that aimed itself at Rufie.

Blake’s remarks and actions were not helping and she was tempted to smack the both. She didn’t need to though; her glare alone said measures of what she thought of such a proposal. “Pfft. Always a kill joy, Rufie,” she said as the trio of girls entered the cafeteria at last. As the other two went about getting their food, Dana chose the nearest thing that resembled fish-tuna casserole or something-before heading to their table. Blake’s antics earned her a sighing wink from Dana, but the repercussions of being in the same bad as her still had her shuddering.

As Chen followed order and dealt with the intrusion of Diana alongside Iona, the Holy Imperator cracked another eye open. This time she was directing her gaze to someone new who had entered her chambers and it wasn’t difficult to locate Suparna’s wretched form. Indeed, she could dress the part of an Angel all she would like, but the Imperator saw her true core. She would always remain a Demon in the eyes of heavenly light…but she kept her around if only to amuse Diana.

“Yield, Chen. Let Diana play with her pet,” the Imperator said, catching notice of Chen’s only suspicions towards the maggotry demon. “She knows very well the honor she has of walking among our ranks,” the Imperator continued, keeping her gaze on the demon until both she and Diana had soon departed. As the room was made quiet once more, the Imperator closed her eyes and rested, unaffected by the conversations around her.

“Oh for fuck’s sake, just leave me along you goddamn hippie!” Ruxen said, backing away from Pink’s all too cheery form. No one acted that happy without some shady intentions and she was not going to be endorsing free hugs. “Why don’t you go hug a cactus or something barf for brains. I hear it’s the exact same if you actually hugged me,” Ruxen continued to say with a scowl.

Back in the Happy Verse, the golden-tinted kitten stared up at the snake lady before curving her eyes in a glare. “Kid? Kid!?! Lady, I hope you get claws stuck in your scales,” she said, though largely ignored since Ananta had other felines to talk to. "A kid! Oh ho, you’re making one big old mistake reptile breath,” the kitten muttered, pride too broken for her to continue and she stalked off to go drown some ladybugs in a puddle or something.

No, the one Ananta was most interested in was Noire. “Nyah?” the cat said, perking her ears up as she was addressed. “Nyah~! You must have kids on the mind more than me lady. You’ve got quite the little pack following you around yourself,” Noire said with waves of her tail. She ignored the sudden blur of the weird girl with angel wings suddenly speeding off to who knew where; Miyu would find that the dimension of the Happy Verse was near-infinite anyway like any other plane of reality.

“It’s not nice to go around accusing folks newcomer. Betcha you didn’t know that’s how fights and arguments start out <.<” Noire said. This time, she was idly scratching a claw into one of the many branches surrounding her, shrugging off the glare Ananta was giving her. “Can’t a cool cat like me just hang out and relax like it’s no one’s business, nyah?”
