River

River stood near the tables edge with Pepper resting on his head. He listened intently as each member of the other guilds spoke out on their knowledge of the floor dungeon, his eyes meeting with each when their turn came. Hmmm, the creatures are all level 10 to 15, that means I have a greater chance of capturing any that we may need. he turned to look at dub for a brief moment before turning his attention back into the meeting. It appeared that the area before the boss had a mechanic, potentially a timed one, seeing as how the longer they took the harder it would be to achieve their goal. It appeared the locations, as well as the spawns, would be randomized each encounter; so even though they did have the option to run, it wouldn't help them when they came back.

Once they finished speaking he rose his hand halfway while talking. "Sorry for the interruption here but, these enchanted stone totems, what do we know about them? Are they resistant to certain elements? Magic? Physical damage? Also, you're wording has me curious. You say their 'totems' not monoliths, tablets or any other word, so that makes me wonder what we know about the floor boss? Is he a summoner of sorts? Should we anticipate them summoning more creatures mid fight? What do we know of its moves or 'class'id you will."
The cold air nipped at Rivers face as he raced forward with his army. The chilling air felt great against his skin as his Mimi danced from tree to tree, its padded feet gingerly landing on a trunk or branch before immediately leaping off towards the next. A slight grin was plastered on his face as he looked back at his men "Too slow there! Gotta move faster if you want to beat me." he laughed at them as he turned around, only to be faced with a branch into his chest. Jets of water shot out of his hands and he attempted to stabilize himself back on his mount. The sound of distant laughter could be heard from those behind him. River poured, gripping the fur and pulling himself closer to the beast as he scanned ahead. The opening was near but there was something glistening past the tree line. He immediately halted his mimi, as the creatures claws effortlessly hooked around the branch, swinging them both upside down while its tail wrapped around the branch. The others began to follow suit, 'archers' began to climb into the trees, conjuring bows at the ready and looking for any sign of movement.

River pressed his finger against a pearl earing he wore and spoke into it. "I spotted something up ahead, remain here while I go to investigate it, archers circle around me and remain hidden in the foliage of the trees." His mimi prowled slowly through the trees, making an effort to eliminate all sound. It glided from tree to tree, shadow to shadow, like a silent stalker. Finally River was able to make out the soldier bearing the flag of his comrades. "Stay hidden and dont attack, their friendly...but I dont want them to spot us just yet." His mimi moved up to the tree nearest the soldier when suddenly it dropped down. Its tail wrapping the branch so it hung and River lay there upside down yelling "Bah! Did I get you?" The soldier jumped back a bit at the sight and then realised it was Embassador Fontaine of the False Kingdom. "You really shouldnt be out here in the open you know? Could've been attacked, ambushed, or mauled by a Mimi Leopard." River quickly signaled for his troops to approach while the guard waited for them.

The walk there was fairly uneventful with the exception of the riders occasionally asking why they couldnt simply fly there instead of walking. As soon as the trek was over River turned to a small Lalafell wearing soft pink armor, a massive pink great sword, and a devilish grin. "Tataru, take the troops and my Mimi to their stables. I have to go see who runs this place so that we may be briefed of the situation." Rivers childlike voice matched his stature and made it difficult for some to take him seriously. He turned to the soldier and asked him to point in the direction of their captain, waddling off towards it in Hope's to find them.

Salem stayed quite the walk there, allowing the others to speak as he took in the environment. Everything in this school was so stunning it was hard to remember he was at one. His mind began to race as they grew nearer, wondering if his 'potion' would work. He had heard of the immense speed at which Vampires can move, and could only imagine how fast this fight would be; Salem was determined to gather as much information about Lucan, through his fighting, as possible. While heading into the stands with Aaron, he began to bite into his Celery snack. One bite and his nerves stood on ends, as if he could feel every bit of wind that touched him, another bite and his speech and movement began to increase as well, with the final bite he closed his eyes and opened them once more. His pupils were like that of a predator, honing in on the slightest movements. His gaze caught a man be enveloped in smoke and then vanish. He blinked and kept his head forward, his mind racing faster than usual.
Moments later the fight began, and Salem viewed it all vividly. Zipping back and forth against the barrier as he kept attempting to see the best angles, some words could be heard coming from him extremely quickly "Wow! OPH! Didyouseethat?! Whatspeed! Lucanwatchout! HESRIGHTHANDED?!" the flurry of words flew out of Salems mouth without moments thought. Once the fight was over he zipped to Aaron "Thatwassoamazing! Icantbelieveanyonecanfightthatgood! Areyouthatfast?strong?agile? CANYOUUSEBOTHHANDS?!" after a moment he realised he had interrupted Aaron and Lillie and stepped back a bit. Thoughts began to race through Samaels mind as the King called out to him. Surely this man of royalty possessed a great amount of power to be able to fell the demons he spoke of earlier, but to also sense the tether on his shadow? Now that was impressive. Sadly for the King, Samel played by his own rules, and what's more, he was given orders. He stayed there within his shadow, placing an invisible hand upon his chin, thinking of how to proceed. Finally a thought occured. Multiple shadows began to emerge from already existing ones within the room, thin slits opened where mouths should be, as a shadowy hand placed its umbral finger upon its lips; each shadow replicating the other in succession. The masses shook their heads as they slowly stretched their arms out towards the tent opening, pointing to it. Finally, the shadows converged to create a mass of tendrils that would spell out "More Privacy, Away from your walls" Shortly after, they would seep back down into the shadows from whence they came, a single one slithering out, pulling an outstretched hand motioning the king to follow. The shadow would slowly leave the walls and head to the tree line where it wouldn't be surrounded by the kingsman, all the while Samael stayed within the royals shadow, safely waiting.

A long, deep, sigh, escaped from Salem as Lucan told them to relax. He hadn't realised it, but at the sight of Lucan, he had begun to hold his breath. His muscles began to loosen as Salem exhaled, relief washing over him as hed hoped hed done well. He turned his head to face Aaron, giving him a warm smile as he gently nudged him with his elbow, signifying a thanks. Salem's attention was once again drawn back to Lucan, he began to ruffle inside his bag, pulling out the small contraption that held the vials of blood, each marked with a label, one of which was just black. "I wasnt sure if youd want a snack or something to ride you over for the day, so I took the liberty of bringing a few flavors along with me. Please, feel free to drink if you need to." He had finally met his partner and was now at a loss for words, what should he say? Ask? Do? What is expected of a first encounter?

Salem cleared his throat "I heard that Aaron will be participating in a match later today. Are you gonna come see it as well? I'm honestly a bit intrigued to see how he fights and how you trained him." his legacy began to shift as his eyes looked towards the seat next to Lucan. Salem began to wonder if it would be ok to sit next to him, or if he should remain standing. His uncertainty began to eat him alive when a thought crossed his mind We're partners, equals. I should treat him ok differently than I would another. He moved forward as he began to take the seat next to him, placing the container onto the table. "I hope you dont mind if I take this seat. Before I do, it's a pleasure to meet you Morrigan, I'm Salem Spellman." he extended his arm out to Morrigan for them to shake.

At the sound of all the encouragement from his colleagues, Salem could feel his blood begin to pool around his cheeks. A light rose colour began to form underneath the tan-olive skin, his eyes darted from Aaron to Dakota and then his feet as he fiddled with his shirt. As they walked Salem nudged into Aaron the way he did him, speaking in a low, soft voice "Thanks" His eyes met with Kotas for a moment after, a flash of an embarrassed smile on his face "Well I'm sure we'll figure out yours in time. Mine was easy, I come from a long line of plant mages, so there wasnt much surprise when my affinity for plant magic was shown during the ceremony." Salem glanced down at his hands for a moment "Besides...its not like I can control my magic yet, nor can I conjure it at will. I was however, trained in the fields involving plants and their many extensive uses. It is believed that if we, Spellmans, understand every aspect that we can imagine of our element, including its growth process, needs, and possibilities, than we will be able to better control and wield our element when the time comes."

Salem took in the beauty of the school grounds as they walked, lead by Sariel, who admittedly wasnt the best tour guide. He didnt pay much attention to most of what she'd said once they began to get lost. Every step they took, Salems heart began to beat louder in his chest, knowing full well it meant finally meeting his partner. Nervousness began to creep up on him with the thought of it all, his heart resounding in his ears, thumping loudly as the others voices began to be drowned out. “Now, Aaron over there has my number so I expect each and everyone of you to get it and send me a text sometime. I might not always be around but having someone in your corner when shit hits the fan isn’t ever a bad thing. And even if it isn’t very big, make sure if you need help you reach out.” Wait we're here already?! Salem's eyes scanned the many faces of the crowd, wondering if Lucan was already there, waiting. Finally he saw him with two others none the less, Salem took took a step forward when he was suddenly stopped by Aaron.

"Great to meet you Salem, I'm Aaron Starag, but I guess you already knew that," he stuck his phone back in his pocket, leaning back and glancing around between Salem and Lilie, still surprised by the fact that Lucan was attending the Academy too. "You really won the lottery there Salem," he began, gesturing to the photo. "He's been my teacher for the past five years, taught me almost everything I know about swordplay, self-discipline, that sort of thing. Music too. I don't know what I would have turned into without him." A fond look crossed Aaron's face as he began resting his left hand absently on the pommel of his sword before nodding with a grin in Salem's direction. "You're in good hands, I can guarantee you that."

Aaron began texting someone as their conversation progressed, after a few moments hed asked Salem to take a picture with him in order to get a rise out of Lucan. A mischievous smile danced across Salems lips as he quickly gave the blonde boy wonder a light kiss on the cheeks. What am I doing?! Surely he'll recoil, hate me, or worse. The moment had passed and Aaron was...laughing? That's a good sign at the very least.
With that, Aaron put his phone away for good, done for the moment with being impolite. "You and I are probably going to be seeing more of each other, Salem," he noted, and remembering Salem's second request, added "And of course, I'd be happy to help you study magic. You and anyone else interested." He shrugged, reminding himself not to be prideful. "But remember, I'm still learning."

""It does seem like a good way to mingle with other mages," Lilie finally spoke in agreement, her blue eyes landing on the young man that had turned his back to the conversation, although she would give the pair her attention once again. Salem was glad to finally hear her speak. He had feared that he interrupted something between the two once she began to shy away from the conversation. "I'm eager to learn, even if I feel my water element won't be of much use. But combat, on the other hand..." She gave the Area Guild table a rather confident look, only deflating slightly as she thought of the spar earlier. "I believe I can hold my own quite well.""

Salem's eyes grew wide as he heard the white haired mage mention both her aspect as well as her doubts in it. This was not an element to take lightly, he glanced over at her side and noticed the rapier once more. His brows furrowed and knotted as he began to place his hand upon his chin, thinking. She wields a rapier, it's no small coincidence that her aspect would match up nicely as well...two fluid art styles that have the capacity to wreak havoc upon ones opponents. What's more she has the ability to crowd control from all the stories I've heard of water mages back from the clinic...not to mention their vital role in my clinic. Before Salem could speak up a third voice appeared.

With confidence like that, I’d pay good money to see you take on some of the guys here. Show ‘em who’s boss.” Dakota laughed and winked, relaxing their posture. “I’m Dakota by the way. Sorry if I’m interrupting, heard something about a fight and it peaked my interest. What are you guys talking about anyway?” The smile turned apologetic as the mage shifted their gaze between the other occupants of the conversation.

It was at this point that Salem *truly* took notice of where he stood. Not only physically, but also in regards to all his classmates and peers. Aaron had his longsword, Lillie her rapier, Dakota seemed like she was a brawler herself and then there was the matter of the two who stepped aside before Salem made his way over, it would appear a majority of the mages had some combat training, something Salem severely lacked. He began to shrink, feeling incompetent and dreading how his partner would react when he found out he wasn't trained even a percentage of what Aaron knew. A small nervous chuckle escaped him as he took a couple steps back, looking down at the floor as he began to rub his neck again. "I...um, I dont have any combat training. Not in the sense you all speak of at least. I cant wield weapons, nor throw a punch, or roundhouse kick or anything...I'm just a medic..." his voice trailed off softly as his eyes continued to scan the ground. "But I've had many mages work with me at my clinic, so I've learned of ways to utilize other magics both for medical purposes as well as some combative strategies...from uh...the stories they've told me. All of my patients are humans and a few are brought to me by mages who have had to combat a feral or two away from the slums..." he went silent for a moment and then looked up at Lillie "Your aspect is a gift that we can utilize in medicine, but it is also an unrelenting force of nature that can be used in combat. I may not be a fighter but I can more than help strategize techniques to flow with your style of fighting." As if to get the last word, Salems stomach began to growl loudly from having skipped "breakfast" that day. "It wouldnt happen to be Lunch yet would it?"
@Black Alice
Yes, literal magic. Certain wilder can create weapons to fight. Fire, Water, and other elements conjure up a bow and arrow of that element to use in battle.
