Better known by the name of Tsu. An "advanced" roleplayer with at least five years of experience on/off. In real life, he is a college student studying in Asia, majoring in design-related fields. Outside of this site, he's also a hopeless poet and an indie writer currently working on his first book (as and when he has the time and inspirations to write something). He is also active in the Harry Potter fandom through participating in fanfic competitions/challenges and building connections with gift fics.

Sorry for the super-late response. I'm afraid I'll have to drop this RP for the time being as my craving for the Percy Jackson series (or demigod stuffs in general) has pretty much worn off, no longer as hyped about them as last time. Right now I don't have much creative drive to work out anything for RPs of this fandom/genre.
However, instead of shutting this down completely I don't mind just holding this back to my backlog, and hopefully when my feels for this fandom comes back we can pick this RP up again.
I've had good and bad experiences with teen RPs, but I think my big complaint with them is people tend to want to emphasize the stuff I don't focus on when I roleplay. I.E. most emphasis goes into romantic pursuits or something else I never cared about when I was a teenager for some reason.
I don't mind playing teen characters - in fact, I do like exploring that psychological-emotional aspect where a teen's mindset is somewhere between a kid and adult, having to juggle between developing a sense of maturity and the unwillingness to lose their innocent childish side. Sure, adults in their later years who have been through all sorts of hell can contribute to their (overly) complicated background, but who says that can't be applied to a teen who will go through the psychological and emotional turmoil before they enter the world of an uncertain adult life? Also, unlike a "mature" adult who knows how to stand their own ground, a teen may be more easily influenced by their environment and peers, inciting cases of impulsive moments and forced to make difficult choices, which can change them for the better...or worse.
Don't forget, the teen years do make up a part of an adult's backstory, and also hold importance in developing the adult to who they are by then.
As for romance, I do agree that it's overdone - no offense to romanticists or people who simply can't move the plot forward without all the juicy romantic/lustful actions, but not everyone wants to pursue a lovey-dovey relationship in their teen years. Even if the teen has a crush on someone, it's 50-50 whether they will act on that feeling, or simply push it aside and prioritize other things in their life (studies, peer pressure, family, other personal interests, etc).
@tsukune Should I hold off on posting until tomorrow? So that other people can get their sheets up? That way we know exactly who we'll have when we start.
Hmm, I think we should wait until 2 more players finish their CS then we can begin proper. I'm hoping for a 5-member party at minimum.

@tsukune I'm working on a Cloud CS. The biggest problem I'm having is trying to condense his background down to a reasonable size. Could I get away with just putting a link to his wiki?
Sorry, but I have to say no. The reason why I ask for a summary is because: (1) To show your understanding of the character you're taking up, (2) To allow other players who may not be familiar with the characters you're assuming to get the gist and feel of them; the main idea is to deconstruct and rebuild the characters, not following the canon word for word, (3) Don't be lazy! Lol.
Size of the summary doesn't matter. It's the content - as long as the main, important points are there. (And...don't plagiarize!)

Yes, all characters should be in the same location and as close to one another as possible. It would suck if they are all at world's end, all alone with their head all muddled and confused...and then a Malboro appears right behind you with Bad Breath.

@tsukuneFirst off, how could they NOT have their abilities, I understand them not being able to use them because they don't remember how to. Yeah they're from games, but at least for Edward, he came with all his abilities available to use in his game. To me at least, it makes more sense for them to have their abilities, but not remember they have them or how to use them. It could also be hilarious to see them accidentally discover them. Imagine Cloud using Omnislash on some poor slime because he doesn't know he can use it.
Yes, you're right - they have the memories of their past. What I mean is: their name is the only thing they know it by heart. For abilities, it is exactly like you said - since their mind is in a mess, they can't correctly recall how to use them properly, at times leaving to their "body memory" to act on instinct, using them at the most inappropriate moment, like that omnislash. ;)
Second, and I know for a fact that this is because I've never played XIV. Forging? How does that work? What materials would one even need to forge a harp? Can someone direct me to a wiki page on it or something? Forget it, I'll find the wiki page myself, save everyone some time.
Third, Edward is starting off alone with no harp. He is so fucked. XD
Forget that I said that - to save everyone from throwing rotten chocobo eggs at me, they have the basic weapon. Yay!

Also, a few things to note before you guys start your first IC post (I'll include them in the FAQ sometime later - tomorrow, because I'm running out of time):
About Characters Your characters, though hit with a "cosmo amnesia" the moment they arrive in Celestia, remembers one thing by heart: their name. Of course they didn't lose their memories, just in too much mess that they think they've forgotten everything.
About Weapons & Abilities Your characters do not have anything on them (except for the clothes and basic weaponry) upon arrival.
After the warming up between all player characters, I'll be randomly picking one of you to send the PM to the first clue.
EDIT: Forgot to say...the opening IC post is already up, yes.
A mysterious entity that you cannot see, only hear in your mind - at times it helps to guide you through this foreign land you are exploring, but whether or not it has an agenda for doing so, only time will tell...
I've skimmed through the CS so far and the party lineup is definitely awesome: a sadistic villain, a king at odds with his tragic fate, and a mischievous rogue. It's a riot indeed. XD
I absolutely love what you guys wrote for the weapon and ability description. Dat humor is just what I want to see.
