Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

In 2027, the understanding and analysis of psychic powers has reached new heights. This has come at a necessity, for the population of Espers, those who possess psychic abilities, has only grown larger in recent years. Now, these Espers make up a significant precentage of the world's population, though they are not the majority of the human race. There has been research into the cause for such an explosion in the Esper population, but there are many other concerns as well.

With so many Espers who have a wide variety of abilities, law enforcement, too, must compensate for the potential dangers that this may pose. As a result, a recruitment drive has begun in many nations to position espers in the places that they can do the post to prevent such crime from occurring, and capture esper criminals. Special training has gone into effect for many law enforcement and military officials who lack such capabilities, as well. New technologies, too, have come to exist in recent years.

Resentment towards Espers, as well, has stewed in many places. Gangs have targeted lone Espers, and other groups have publicly stated their opposition to Espers.

However, others accept that psychic abilities and those who wield them have become a fact of life that must be accepted.

It is with this in mind that Japan formed Sector 108, also known as "PsySector". A special task force that recruits Espers in order to deal with a variety of Esper-related incidents, as well as other occurrences that may be difficult for regular law enforcement to tangle with. Psychic manifestation, high-tech terrorism, PsySector's existence is to counteract such threats.

But soon, PsySector may face its greatest challenges...

Basic Information:

[Technology]
    A variety of new technologies exist in 2027. Walking battle suits of varying size, from three meters tall to ten meters tall, robotic drones, garbage disposal bots, weather predicting supercomputers, a vast variety of new and exciting technology as been developed.

[Espers]
    Espers wield psychic abilites, which can vary vastly from the ability to read the past of an item by touching it, to projecting fire, to teleportation, and a vast number of other incredible abilities. Espers have faced both those who accept that they are a fact of the world that must be understood, and those who resent them and wish they would disappear. Esper abilities can grow in potency and effect, and some countries have established academies that assist Espers in understanding and controlling these growing abilities. Esper powers are ranked from One to Six, with Six being the most powerful. There is a theoretical Seventh level. The following list uses pyrokinesis as an example:
    • Level 1: Extremely Basic effect, such as sparks.
    • Level 2: Basic Utility, such as lighting a flame on the end of a finger.
    • Level 3: Versatile Utility, such as lighting a sizable fire.
    • Level 4: Broader utility and effective weaponization, such as generating sustained flame.
    • Level 5: Broad Utility with many applications, such as lighting fires, sustained flame generation, producing exploding fireballs, putting out fire, and more.
    • Level 6: Broad, powerful, versatile. Can control some temperature in addition to fire, such as cooling, and immune to any fire-based attacks on top of many fire and heat related abilities.
    • Level 7: Theoretical Level. Multiple abilities are possible at this level.

[Shapeless Things]
    The buildup of psychic energy can manifest as what is known as a poltergeist, or a 'shapeless thing'. This are initially nuisances, moving objects around or turning electricity on and off, but as they grow in power they can become dangerous phenomena that can hurt or injure others. At a high enough level, a Shapeless thing can become a corporeal being capable of instinctive thought and the use of other powers beyond basic telekinesis.

Sakura Kyouko

Kyouko raised an eyebrow. Those were pokeballs, weren't they? This girl totally had pokeballs. Was she some kind of cosplayer or something? Castelia City?

"Nah, dunno anywhere by that name," Kyouko replied, though it did sound strangely familiar somehow, "I'm from Mitakihara, and this place sure as hell ain't Mitakihara."

The redheaded girl let out a huff. Where was this, anyway...? Before she could think on the Pokeballs, or her location, any longer, some horribly off-key singing hit her ears. That was awful, who the hell was caterwauling like that? It was just plain terrible! But that took second place to the amazing smell that hit her nose. Frying dough, sizzling meats... that was an incredible smell. It was like the smells that came out of festivals, the scent of those awesome street snacks that she would absolutely devour every chance she got. Without making a response to Hilda, the redheaded spear-wielder was off like a shot.

"A customer?!" The girl stopped her terrible singing and ceased her banging on the pots, quickly sprinting around behind the counter. Whew, nothing had burned, it all looked good! She knew her timing was perfect!

On display were a variety of snacks, some freshly prepared and some in the process of being being readied. On display were taiyaki and meat buns, takoyaki was frying away, meats were sizzling... indeed, the array of scents matched the array of foods on display. This guy was pretty grizzly, but he seemed hungry. She'd make the boss proud!

"If Yu-chan can make a recommendation, oji-san, the takoyaki is perfect!" Yu cheerily declared, her pigtails bobbing, As if on que, some of the takoyaki was finished frying. The small brunette swiftly placed two sets in a paper tray, skewering them and laying takoyaki sauce and various other toppings across them. "The boss might not be here, but Yu-chan is confident in her preparation!"

Hopefully it would be better then her singing.

... And suddenly, Kyouko was at the stand, immediately snatching up one of the takoyaki trays and devouring several of the octopus balls. The delicious flavor that flooded her mouth was exactly what she'd hoped for, even with the blazing heat of the freshly prepared street food.

"A-ah?! Hey, wait, you should pay first!" cried the girl at the counter.

"You shouldn't just leave it lying out where I can grab if if that's what you want," Kyouko replied, simply, before engulfing the remaining takoyaki with speed many people would believe impossible, especially when it came to such a hot food.

I'm writing with the assumption that everyone is in close enough range to either hear or smell it.
Misaka Mikoto

There were a few moments of blank staring when the knight walked up. Mikoto wasn't sure what to make of this, not one bit. A fully armored knight? The only possibilities Mikoto could use to explain such a sight was, likely, a very lost cosplayer. But the armor looked so real, while at the same time lacking any of the mechanized components power armor found in Academy City would display. No, this appeared to be some kind of knight. Not only that, but she didn't look Japanese at all. Yet she spoke fluent Japanese, that sounded like it was the language she was born with... Mikoto attempted to understand this. Perhaps the older girl was raised here? But... where was here? Some kind of experiment?

Flashes of those on the darker side of Academy City came to mind, suddenly. But this seemed too strange even for such people. What was going on?

"... Jeez, whoever's responsible for this..." an electrical current crackled around Mikoto's head. Whatever was going on, there was no way it was anything good in the Electromaster's mind.

... Wait, what was...?

The scent that came to Mikoto's nose was one of... frying breading? Meats? It smelled like someone was cooking...

"Does anyone else smell that?"

Kino

Not only did that armor clad the huge man's entire body, but it seemed to be so flexible too! Kino had never seen any machine like it, not even those human-like machines she had seen prior... no, this armor was something entirely new to her. Raising her hands, she lightly clapped at the massive older man's display. It was a pretty impressive display of some sort of mechanism she had never seen before, so she had to show her appreciation somehow, didn't she?

Egypt and Sweden were countries Kino had never before heard of, but she could assume from context that the were hardly armored. So they had all been taken from totally different places, somehow?

"Ohh... scary! Something took us all here against our will!" Hermes commented.

"If whoever did this wanted to harm us, I don't think they would have let us keep all our weapons," Kino replied. That, at least, made sense to the dark-haired girl. Why would you abduct someone and then leave them with all their methods of self-defense? Therefore there must be another reason... but what was it?

At that moment, the sense of sizzling meat and frying dough met Kino's nose...

"... Ah?"

... Of course, then the sight of a speaking, living skeletal armored being took her quite by surprise. Something like that was even more surprising then the hulking armored man.

If the smell didn't get any to show up, surely they'd notice this...

A pan was slammed into the bottom of a large pot, strapped around the waist of a small brunette girl clad in a floral kimono. She didn't what to disappoint the boss, and with the new people who'd just shown up... Well, it was time for a little song!

Hopping from one foot to the other, waving a fan in her free hand, the girl stood in front of a brightly-colored stand that housed a sizzling grill and fryer. She had a little time before anything was done to advertise! ... Which would hopefully distract her from eating any of the merchandise, too...

"Hey! Hey! Look over here! I'm gonna show you why you shouldn't fear!" she declared, her off-key singing only emphasizing the clearly-improvised lyrics as she twirled, banging on the pot and waving the fan, "You want a snack? Check out this... er... shack? We're not hacks!"

She banged on the pot several more times.

"Takoyaki taiyaki yum yum yum, I promise to you that you won't burn your... thumbs!" she continued, looking a little uncertain about those last lyrics, "And if those aren't your taste, we have much more! Don't worry about your wallet, our prices won't make you poor!"

There's a major reason a map won't make sense. ^^;
@ACHTUNG: Aoi is accepted then.
Okay, um... my friend, who knows the series much better then I do, has offered a bit more of an explanation that will hopefully help.

I think you may have gotten confused by the animations error of having her stay in that one frame for too long. See, what Aoi is doing in the manga panel is teleporting in and teleporting back out in a matter of seconds. Aoi doesn't float, she controls her trajectory through her teleportation. This is makes it seem like she's floating in manga panels, but its more like a very controlled free fall. The thing is, like sometimes readers get confused, so do animators and that's what happened with that instance of her "floating" in the anime. If she could really fly, you would be able to see her do it very consistently, but most of the time she's either on the ground or teleport spamming is Kaoru isn't around to help her fly. Notably, Kaoru who can fly is almost never on the ground during confrontations because that's her ability, Aoi, however, never does that unless its her teleporting into the sky and using that teleportation to stay in the air.

@ACHTUNG: From what I've researched and been told that's a case of her teleporting in place to stay in the air.
I watched that clip and did not see her fly. ^^;
@ACHTUNG: I'm glad you edited in more of her weaknesses but um...

Firstly I wouldn't expect her esper disruption to function on espers from other universes just because they work too differently from what my friend has helped explain. ^^;

Secondly she can't fly without Kaoru's help unless you mean keeping herself in the air via teleportation.
