Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

"Ah..."

That explanation... yes, it sounded just about exactly like the kind of thing that the small swordswoman expected from Yuyuko-sama. It didn't take a lot of food to get her Mistress's attention... in fact, all it took was food in general. That was it. It was relieving to know the circumstances of the ghost's situation were, well, relatively mundane and nothing particularly explosive. But why had Yakumo-sama brought Yuyuko-sama here? Why was Yakumo-sama here in the first place? What exactly were they planning, and who was that strange girl in the military uniform? There were a lot of questions that the silver-haired girl had, but for the moment she was simply relieved to be reunited with her Mistress. Even if her Mistress's behavior was, well... sometimes rather silly, to say the least.

"Oh, I... I don't really know how I got here," replied Youmu, scratching the back of her head, "One moment, I was training as usual, and the next I was here. Then I met Watch-san-"

She gestured to the redheaded boy.

"-And everyone else here. There was a pair of dragons attacking the city, so we worked together to slay them. It was... strange, this place is like the outside world, but it's a different world entirely... We also met Yakumo-san, but something was... strange..."

Mordred

"Eh?!"

Mordred raised her hand, shielding her face from the blast of sludge and crystals. When it had faded, what was left behind was... certainly nothing like what they'd first come across. A high-pressure ball of water, with eyes? What was this thing, anyway?! In an instant it had torn its way through the ceiling and out into the open air, a fact that Mordred was... almost thankful for after being trapped down here in the stench for so long. But on the other hand, that meant it was trying to escape...

"Grr..."

Mordred sprang into the air, one of her feet catching the wall and pushing off to propel herself out of the sewers entirely, onto the street.

It was shedding the crystal shards that had attached to it, which was at least something that jackass had done that was useful. Now they could follow it.

With that, the blonde-haired knight sprinted after the trail, needing to catch up as quickly as possible.

Vita

Hah! She'd hit her! ... Unfortunately, it seemed like it wasn't hard enough. That was fairly infuriating, but Vita reminded herself that next time she would simply have to make it count, and knock the blonde woman right out of the sky. The way she acted just ticked the redheaded girl off, even without considering what she was trying to do!

But now... everything felt strange and hazy, like she was dizzy, and it was all... it made it harder to focus on dodging that barrage. What kind of barrage spell was this? Even knowing that they faced an enemy from another world, it was strange. Really, this confusing attack was making Vita more and more riled up as she flew through the air, followed by the blue bullets as the green bullets seemed to fly in all directions. Very quickly, she had lost track of where she was and what direction she was going in. The entire world seemed to have turned upside-down and inside-out.

That was enough. Taking note of where the blonde woman seemed to be, Vita suddenly turned in place, raising Eisen back.

"Eisen!"

Another cartridge loaded.

"Raketenhammer!" declared the armed device, its shape altering once more, a spike emerging from the tip as the rockets formed and roared to life at the back. Immediately, it sent the small redhead into a whirling charge towards the woman, the hammer clearing her path of bullets as she moved.

While the corrupted Lancer was not mentally operating at her full capacity, there was enough intelligence there for her to be able to perform some level of strategy. That being said, Saber was growing increasingly certain she would eventually wear her enemy down. Whatever corruption had inflicted itself upon this Servant... It wasn't likely that there was any way in which it could be purged. Not that such an idea wasn't a possibility in the blonde knight's mind, and undeniably that would have been the preferable outcome. But in this case, the next best outcome, the more likely outcome, was the death of the corrupted Lancer. Her next manifestation would not be corrupted, and therefore she would be freed from whatever affliction this was.

With that fact in mind, Arturia struck again, forcing the Lancer to take an arrow to her shoulder from Tomoe's support. She had already been sent off balance by Elizabeth's attack! Sliding Excalibur downward, she forced the oddly-shaped spear out of the way before driving her sword forward, the Lancer only barely managing to avoid being impaled and instead taking a gash along her side and backing up. Refusing to give her the room required to strike again, the Saber-class Servant immediately pressed her attack, slamming her blade down as the corrupted Lancer attempted to make room, forcing her to block with the shaft of her spear!

Stepped forward, pressing down, Arturia could feel her opponent weakening from the injuries. Her defense wasn't as stable, now, her ability to hold the knight's assault back was waning. It was only a matter of time...!

It was in this instant that a light flashed in the Lancer's gold eye.

And then Arturia could feel it, the heat, the blue flames engulfing her enemy's body and erupting outwards!

Stepping back, Invisible Air suddenly gathered around Excalibur once more, as the flames ripped the air towards her.

"Strike Aiiiiir!" Saber cried, the whirling bounded field erupting outwards and forwards just as quickly as it had gathered, an enormous rush of wind whipping towards the advancing wall of flame, sweeping away the flames and forcing a gap through the attack! Even still, she could feel the heat, the blackened flames surging past her for some distance before finally fading.

Unfortunately, her attack had not found its other target. The enemy Lancer had fled(at least, as far as she could tell given the blue inferno), using her flames as a distraction.

At this point, the best option was to swiftly move away from the flames, and so Arturia made her way quickly back to her Master's side. She was undeniably somewhat frustrated that the corrupted Servant had been able to escape, but there was no time to dwell on the matter. For now, she had to see what condition the other Saber-class Servant was in, as well as introduce herself.

Arturia planted the tip of her sword in the show.

"Arthur Pendragon, King of the Britons, summoned as Saber," she began. No matter what her regrets may be, it couldn't be said that she did not still fulfill that role in history. It could not be said that Arturia was without pride, no matter what she felt about her past. Even now. "I am glad to have met the legendary dragonslayer, but I wish it could have been under better circumstances."

So the corruption had spread each time? Whatever it was that had been the catalyst for the Lancer's blackening, it was still doing its work. It was like an infection, it was a disease that was slowing running its course through her body. Whatever was the source of the affliction had to be rooted out and destroyed, before it could take any further victims.

As they quickly began to make their way towards the town, there were two matters on Arturia's mind. The first was simply that the needed to make their way to the town as quickly as possible, in order to prevent any innocent people from falling to the wolves or zombies.

"What happened when you first encountered her?" Arturia began. "Was there anything notably out of the ordinary from the start, beyond her corruption?"

If it hadn't already been obvious the other girl was a foreigner, she said something that Hikari didn't understand. It better have been an apology... Though, moments later, the girl spoke in clear, correct, if slightly stilted Japanese, confirming her intent had been to apologize and offering her a hand. Rather then take it, however, the still-irritable girl pushed herself up off the ground unassisted, folding her arms as she stood up and quickly turned away.

"Hmph, you should be more careful!" the redhead declared, glancing back over her shoulder. After a moment's pause, she walked back a little bit on her admonishing tone. Certainly, she was annoyed, but... at least this foreigner girl had apologized to her rather then anything else. "... But at least you apologized. I'm fine."

Her expression continued to betray her irritation, but at the very least she hadn't gone off on the other girl. Not that she didn't want to, but... well, she'd apologized, so Hikari managed to stop herself. Had the girl failed to acknowledge her fault in this, well... Hikari would have been considerably less kind.

Sorry for the delay, forget for a bit. ^^; Will try to address this soon.
@Natsu: I mean... I can't exactly map the whole city. ^^:

I'll be posting tomorrow.
Konpaku Youmu

As they walked, Youmu shook her head. There wasn't any reason she could think of that Yuyuko-sama would cause any sort of incident in these circumstances. Certainly, she had caused one in the past, but there was no reason for her to do such a thing here. Youmu was confident in her mistress, certain that she had no desire to cause any kind of trouble. For a few moments, she looked in the direction the strange little monkey had ran off. Could he really find Yuyuko-sama? If she stood out that much, she supposed it was relatively likely that would be the case. No-one here dressed like she was used to.

"I can't see why Yuyuko-sama would cause any sort of incident here," she began. While her mistress could be... silly, she had no doubt that her judgement when it came to these kinds of matters wouldn't lead to any sort of troublemaking. Perhaps to be a little clearer, Youmu felt confident that Yuyuko-sama's first act in a new world would be in sampling lots of new food. Not that she'd attempt to do anything bad anyway, but she wouldn't think about doing anything else until she had given the local cuisine a try.

And moments later...

"Ah?! You found her?!"

The only reason Youmu didn't immediately go darting off at top speed was because she didn't know where to go, and had to follow the monkey creature. And when they arrived...

"Yuyuko-sama!"

Immediately, the small, white-haired girl darted to her mistress's side, relief filling her heart as she did. To say she was happy was an understatement. She had been concerned that she wouldn't be able to find Yuyuko-sama at all, but now... well, that fear had been put to rest rather permanent. Youmu bowed when she reached Yuyuko's side.

"I apologize for being unable to accompany you, Yuyuko-sama. We were seperated in being taken here, er..." she glanced to the side. That tower of plates... it wasn't exactly surprising, but she had to wonder if the owners of the buffet were going to be happy about it... her genuine smile of joy became a somewhat more awkward one. "Ah-hah... you've been busy..."

Still... the silvery-haired half-phantom straightened. Even in spite of her apprehension about the reaction of the shop's owner, she was so relieved to be reunited with Yuyuko-sama...

"I'm glad to know I can continue to serve you even for as long as we're in this world."

Mordred

It had basically been luck on the part of that bastard that didn't cause a much larger explosion, and the blonde knight glared as he deployed his gem shards to attack. In a way that, naturally, prevented her from attempting to do just about anything. The more time she spent around Alberich the more she quite frankly hated him. The moment this was over Mordred was going to request never to be put on the same team as him again. Or she couldn't be blamed for what she was going to do.

That gem attack also didn't work, at least she assumed it didn't. Rather, it caused globs of goo to become detached from the foul-smelling creature, revealing... something deeper inside of it. There was a creature at the center of the goo? Or a core? Was that the vulnerable spot?

"If there's one thing that was useful for, it's showing us the real target!" Mordred commented, darting towards the blob as red mana crackled up the length of her blade. Her next, sweeping strike was meant to swat away some of the goo, her attacks now intended to dig through the disgusting blob to reach what was at its core.

Saber

For a few moments, the white-haired Saber simply contemplated her Master's strategy. Indeed, it was completely strategically sound. There were no immediate faults when the fact that it was a broad outline of a plan rather then a specific discussion of the strategies that would be involved. For this, her Lord could be praised, and the girl nodded to herself. However... There was more to be considered here, that was a fact that Saber couldn't deny, as well.

"... I believe this is a solid strategy to found our approach to this war upon," she began. For a moment, however, she hesitated before deciding to continue. "... I apologize for this selfishness, but if our opponent chooses to engage in honorable battle between Servants, I believe it would be disrespectful to slay their Master as well. Given that only the enemy Servants must be defeated in order to claim victory in this war, is it possible that we can spare defeated Masters under those cir-"

Saber paused. The situation had rather quickly become much more serious. She couldn't determine precisely where, but inside this building there was another Servant.

When the white-haired girl spoke again, her already hused voice was considerably more quiet.

"My Lord, I detect the presence of another Servant. Likely in this building."

Caster

"Very well, Master."

It was a wise choice to assume spirit form. While being manifested was somewhat more enjoyable, the Caster-class Servant felt that subtlety was the best solution for now. Her form faded, vanishing into sparks of mana as she took on spirit form, before quietly proceeding some distance behind her Master. Initially, she didn't know precisely what the girl had in mind, as she intruded upon a seemingly randomly-selected home and slew the dog guarding the house. It was only once the magus began to approach the family within that Caster began to quickly understand her Master's goal.

It was cruel, but they would not perish. Ruthless, but there was little that could not be sacrificed for her goals. Was it the choice Caster herself would have made in the same scenario?

Perhaps, perhaps not. Nothing could be guaranteed. And so the dark-haired Servant observed her Master's work in silence, her mind contemplating their course through the war.

There is nothing she would allow to stop her from winning.

@KoL

Estelle Varianbec

Estelle nodded, simply, at her Servant's declaration. No matter who their target was, she had absolute certainty in Lancer's abilities. If the Master(whichever of the two girls that was, the dark-skinned girl wasn't certain which) chose to become involved without surrender, she could be swiftly dealt with as well. There was no doubt in the small magus's mind that anything the enemy Master could conjure would pale in comparison to the thaumaturgical artifice of the Varianbec family manifested in her body. All that would be necessary in all likelyhood would to be allowing Lancer to do his work.

That is, to slaughter the enemy Servant unquestionably. That being said, she was prepared to lend her support if it was required. She simply had enough confidence in Lancer's abilities, given who he was, that there would be no risk of his defeat in this situation. To be frank, she felt it was likely he would eliminate the enemy Servant tonight, rather then anything else.

It would be an excellent start to the war.

Hoshino Hikari

Her home wasn't particularly far, and she had a little bit of homework to do. By her standards, it wasn't much and she'd have it done quite quickly, so there was no harm in stopping by the local convenience store for a snack. As Hikari made her way there, she found her thoughts drifting once again to the subject of the unusual dream she'd had. She couldn't remember the last time she'd had a dream that made so much sense while simultaneously making so little. It was as if it had been cut and past out of a story, or real events, but she hadn't read or watched anything like that recently and obviously it couldn't have been anything real, right? So why was it that she had such a strange dream?

As she walked, deep in thought, Hikari's red pigtails bobbed. But even still, due to her small size she wasn't exactly an easy person to notice, and as such, when she failed to notice someone crossing her path, they entirely missed her as well.

Moments later, the two girls collided. With a yelp of surprise, Hikari stumbled back and landed on her rear end. Thankfully she hadn't dropped anything, but...

"H-hey!" she cried, looking up at the perpetrator, "Watch where you're going!"

The girl looked like a foreigner, though Hikari wasn't sure where she was from. Platinum blonde hair, red-brown eyes, she almost seemed slightly familiar, like the small redhead had seen her somewhere before once, but not frequently enough to be certain as to where.

From atop a nearby rooftop, the girl who had been watching her continued her observation. On further inspection, it was unusual just how small she was, almost the size of a large doll. That and the fact she had wings made it unlikely she was human, really.

"... She looks like she has a bit of a temper, but that's not always a bad thing!" she declared, nodding to herself. Certainly, that little redheaded girl was going to be a great magical girl! She could sense it, the will to help people, the aptitude to wield magical powers... even if she was temperamental, that didn't mean she couldn't be great!

"Aaah, jeez, are you giving me more competition?"

The angel girl glanced back over her shoulder, to the source of the voice.

"You know I'm not the strongest magical girl, and you're piling on even more for me to fight?"

The blonde gave a small smile.

"I can't just ignore someone with lots of potential, I'm sorry," she replied.

"Aaaah jeez!" complained the speaker.

After a moment, however...

"... You know... you won't be able to make her a magical girl if she's stuck in the hospital for a couple weeks, right? As long as it's not too bad, just enough to keep her out of the Hex Night..."

"Eh?!"

@TheFake
Keep in mind you don't necessarily need to wait for me to do an update once you've posted. You can interact among one another, I'm only doing a big GM post when the Hex Night itself begins.
