Current I think watching fight scenes can help in general terms with writing combat, since it can give you an idea of flow and choreography.

At least if you're writing something you know, with knights.

I mean, depends on what you're writing, and the tone and theme of what you're writing. Trained armored knights were legitimately monstrous on the battlefield, so looking up how they fought helps.

As much as there's a lot of reasons twitter sucks, I genuinely don't want to see it die for the sake of all the artists who now rely on it. Hoping the shithead stops trying to directly administrate.

roleplayerguild.com/posts/5… If anyone's up for fighting some kaiju, why not try out my new RP, Godzilla: YATAGARUSU?

@ACHTUNG: An immediate problem before looking into any other details is, again, um...

Concept and Archetype are more specific then that. Archetype is a specific thing, like Ascalon, or Winchester, or Excalibur, that sort of thing.

"Battle" is sort of broad. Warfare might work? And none of that relates to a devil girl. ^^;

@Yui: Accepted. Now we've got two magical girls who can drop the hammer!
@Yui: Happy to have more players!
Assassin

The fact that Rider's shield didn't yield wasn't exactly unexpected. The flurry of stabs she had put into it were both an attempt to force him back, for him to give way, as much as they were an attempt to see what he would do in the face of her attack. And his own strategy seemed to be to hold fast at all costs. Given the shield was quite sturdy, this wasn't something Assassin didn't expect. It was giving him an ample defense from her assault, which meant that a head-on attack wasn't the best option. This also gave her a bit of a hint at his own level of skill. Not that she doubted it in the first place, given the girl samurai's own pride in her capabilities, but it seemed clear now that when it came to personal skill with a blade, Rider was inferior. Given his class it wasn't altogether surprising, Riders weren't summoned for their personal abilities but rather for their Noble Phantasms.

Drawing back once more, Assassin narrowed her silvery eyes and made for another, much stronger strike. This would be her last forward attack, one designed to make him think she was committing to her assault... at least, until he suddenly twisted and used his shield to deflect her blow! For a split second, she was put off balance...!

But when Rider's counterattack came, Assassin was already gone. It wasn't as if she had simply dodged. No, it was almost as if she had teleported away, but Assassin had no such capabilities. The air whipped around her as she simply moved, seeming to reappear roughly a meter out of the range of Rider's scimitar.

Shukuchi. The skill allowing for the capability of 'seemingly instant movement'. A mere step below true teleportation.

Assassin leaped and flipped forward with speed stunning even to the eyes of a Servant, her katana flashing downwards towards her foe with the momentum of her rapid descent behind it!

@ACHTUNG: There's a fairy that gives out magical girl abilities.
Assassin

Ah... her Master wanted to try and make an alliance? It was the sort of thing she'd been talking about before, in order to make sure they had some place to stay... for a few moments, Assassin paused, lowering the tip of her blade slightly as she carefully watched Rider. She had to be prepared for anything, after all... in battle, that was simply what was expected. And so, she waited for whatever little move he choose to make, whatever tactic he tried to use if the bid for an alliance didn't work...

And then he charged forward, using his shield as a barrier.

"Stand back, Master. I'll demonstrate to you my true skills!"

As Rider approached, and raised his blade to attack, Assassin's katana snapped up to meet it, catching the moonlight as it flashed through the air. Steel met steel in that instant, and there was a shower of sparks as the enemy's scimitar ground against the flat of her katana, knocked entirely off-course by her deflection. What was possible to sense merely by being nearby was the fact that the impact of both Servants' weapons against one another caused a burst of air pressure, something beyond human capabilities.

Without a moment's hesitation, the silvery-haired girl pressed her assault against his shield, a flurry of blindingly fast stabs slamming against the hard metal. She couldn't pierce it like this, but she could force him back, and maybe create an opening!

@RolePlayerRoxas: Accepted.
  • Name: Hoshino Hikari
  • Age: 16
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: Like her magical girl appearance, except obviously in a more normal outfit without a massive hammer. Her hair is dark brown, and her eyes are also brown. She is very short and child-like in appearance.
  • Personality: A stubborn girl with a hot temper, Hikari seems like the aggressive and irritable type through and through. It would be difficult to claim otherwise, given that she's the type to get angry at others easily and is swift to complain or deride them for perceived stupidity. However, in spite of all these facts, deep down Hikari has another side. Her stubborn nature makes her dedicated to ideas she adheres herself to, and deep down she has a genuine desire to help people. Deep down, Hikari has dreamed of being a hero who can save others. As a result, she'd jump at the option to become one, even if she doesn't always thing other people are particularly intelligent either. Hikari is fond of sweets, and baked goods as well, and can sometimes be persuaded by these things. Her extremely stubborn nature makes it nearly impossible to make her genuinely give up on anything that she's dedicated herself to, as well. In spite of this irritable and stubborn nature, Hikari is easily flustered and has a jealous streak towards anyone taller and more mature then herself. Indeed, she hates being mistaken for a child.
  • Skills: Hikari is decent at physical activities and does well in most of her classes.
  • Brief Backstory: Hikari was born into a fairly normal family. For much of her early life she was fairly average as well. However, when she was only eight years old, she nearly lost her father in a car accident. Trapped under the wreckage, she thought she was going to die, until someone saved her and her father. Dazed and confused, she didn't figure out who. But someone had pulled her out before anyone else arrived. This incident left a strong impression on her. She had been relatively unscathed, and while her father's legs were damaged he managed to survive and regain most of the use of them. As a result, she was left with a desire to someday return the favor. In spite of this, that didn't change her rather surly disposition. But it did give her a dream deep down... A dream she would jump at the chance to fulfill.
    • Magical Girl Appearance: Design Works!, Neutral Pose!, A bit older but a colored image to give an idea
    • Concept: Festivals
    • Archetype: Uchide no Kozuchi(Miracle Mallet)
    • Abilities: Hikari is a strong and fast melee-based magical girl. Her abilities are largely centered on her hammer. She can create barriers as well, but most of her focus is purely on overwhelming melee attacks. Her hammer can change in size and destructive force. Additionally, the rear of her hammer can fire off fireworks, both as a booster for her hammer strikes as well as an attack in its own right. She can also power up her melee attacks in mid-swing by yelling 'Tamaya', which intensifies her fireworks. Her attacks include...
      • Tanabata Shooting Star: Hikari's hammer erupts with fireworks that surround her body, sending her rocketing forward to close distance, break through obstacles, and deliver a crushing downward blow with an enlarged hammer.
      • Hanami Blossom Breaker: A barrier-breaking strike, the head of Hikari's hammer is accelerated with a blast of powerful fireworks and swung directly into the target barrier. The impact causes it to shatter in a manner that resembles a flower.
      She does not yet possess her strongest attacks, due to being unaware of her Archetype.
@Zedling: That's fine if you can't manage it.
@Ammokkx: Accepted.
@LuckyBlackCat: Accepted.
